We had a nice one night stay here. On arrival we gained the impression that this place is primarily a restaurant, but is also a hotel. The staff were a bit busy when we turned up i had to help a guy find our name on his computer. But all was ok, our booking was there and we had a nice room on the second floor. The room is nicely done out and is quiet large. We also ate at the restaurant which was a nice break from a German menu, although the service between first course and main was delayed. The breakfast was nice, not as much choice as other hotels we have stayed at on this trip, but for us it was fine. Lots of fruit, yoghurt and meats, cheese and bread + juice and coffee. The hotel is a good 50mins walk to the centre, but if you walk 5mins you can get a tram to the centre and is very cheap. This is a lovely old grand building, obviously someone's home in days gone by and is now a decent hotel.

Hotel Golden Falke is located a bit outside of the city centre of Augsburg, which makes it very affordable. The neighborhood does have some everyday shops and kebab houses, but for proper restaurants and the main sights to see you'll have to walk around 30 minutes to the city centre. The area near the hotel looks a bit rough and I wouldn't have been to excited if I'd visited with just a girl friend. But I do think it is safe enough. You can park for free near the hotel. They have a tiny designated parking lot and if that is full you can park in the streets behind the hotel. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a kind lady, who checked us in. From the inside the hotel looks like it has just been renovated and updated. Our room was very modern and contained everything one might need in a hotel; bed, nightstands, little seating area, a desk, a wardrobe and a TV. The bathroom was also very well maintained and clean. Breakfast was great. Because of Covid everything was laid on the table in advance, instead of the usual buffet style. There was lots to choose from. Personally I thought the hotel was quite nice but because of the distance to the centre and because of the neighborhood, I will probably stay somewhere else next time I'm in Augsburg. For me the fact that the hotel was very affordable didn't way up to the things mentioned above.

I stayed here for one night. Very close to the Oberhausen station, not the best area but room was clean, modern, quiet (I had a room on the other side of the courtyard to the reception) and reasonably priced. WiFi good.

The Alpenhof has a unique style... which I like a lot!! It has a unique style, with a mixture of different furnitures, some old-fashioned some according to styles from alpine regions, wjich is very cosy and also interesting. You can find newspapers from the 60ies in the lobby for example. Also there are nice places in the courtyard and garden to just sit and enjoy. Rooms are clean, the very few hotel staff I saw due to corona was very friendly. So sad to see this nice hotel so empty, it is certsinly a place that deserves to survive this pandemic!! Thank you and until my next stay!

The Hotel Fischertor is a very good base to explore pretty Augsburg. It is well within walking distance of the centre and there is a good range of cafes and restaurants nearby. It is a modest hotel without pretentions to be 'top of the range' but it is perfectly comfortable and is good value for money. The staff are all also delightful and friendly. Our room was fine and quiet. The beds were comfortable and the small bathroom was adequate for our needs. They could, perhaps, provide more than three wire coat hangers for two people and hooks for hanging dressings gowns etc. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts which helped to set us up for the day, and in the evening we had a meal a couple of times in the nearby beer garden recommended by the hotel, which served wholesome and tasty German food with good beer. While in Augsburg we got on the local trains and visited Ulm (worth it for the view from the top of the cathedral spire) and Landsberg am Lech (a very picturesque and unspoilt walled town), both about an hour away. All in all, we were very happy with the Fischertor and would stay there again if we return to Augsburg.

This traditional, family-run hotel is situated in the city of Augsburg, across from the Mozarthaus and within walking distance of the city’s heart and sights, including the lovely Fünfgratturm tower. The charming Hotel Augsburger Hof offers elegantly furnished, rustic rooms with modern amenities. Guests can also enjoy the delicious breakfast buffet every morning.Just across the road lies the Mozarthaus, in which the famous composer’s father, Leopold Mozart, was born and which is now a museum tracing the family’s history in Augsburg. The city centre is just a 15 minute walk away, as is the historic Fuggerei social housing complex and the pretty Fünfgratturm, which sits next to the Lechkanal.

We stayed here during a week long visit to Bavaria. This served as our home base. Very close to train station. Small parking area, but on-street parking is readily available. Very clean although small room. Nice breakfast. We would stay there again.

We had a large room for our 3 night stay in this hotel. Unfortunately, there was a building site on the opposite side of the road to the hotel and it was rather noisy from about 7am on weekdays. Our bedroom was somewhat sparsely furnished with a large sitting area with lots of floor space and one small sofa. The lighting for this area did not work initially, so we were supplied with a standard light, but after the lighting was fixed, this lamp was removed and this meant the room was somewhat dark. The breakfast room is on the first floor and accessed by either a flight of steps or a very steep ramp. I am unsure how accessible it would be for a wheelchair user. The breakfast buffet was very good - and regularly replenished. Although the hotel is located a little way from the rail station (which is itself undergoing some modernisation), it is very conveniently located for the main pedestrian area and tourist attractions. Visitors should note there is no food service other than breakfast in this hotel. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in on this trip and we thought we were treating ourselves to a touch of luxury, but this was definitely not the case!

I went to this hotel with my husband and met up with a friend of ours. The hotel had a wonderful breakfast, had great water you can grab in a room down the hall, along with wine you can purchase near the breakfast room. We could walk around the city, from the hotel, and found it easy to take the bus. Highly recommend this hotel and location!

The Hotel am Rathaus is in an ultra-central location. The building is completely renovated and modernized (as most German cities can show buildings 200+ years old, if not flattened during WWII), architecturally quirky little pensions and hotels/B+B's that have been updated to a good standard and level of comfort. The rooms are tiny but they have all amenities one can hope for and even the tiny bathroom is so cleverly designed that space, or lack thereof, becomes a non-issue. The beds are super-comfy and the linen white-white and crisp. There's even a good sized "refridgerette" in the room - an unusual encounter even on an international budget chain level a very hard to find item these days, but hey - Germany has a reputation for coming up with thoughtful design in terms of usability plus esthetics for the eye. The breakfast buffet is laden with a wholesome, tasty, fresh and substantial range that can easily stand up next to any gourmet Intercon buffet at a fraction of the price. Overall, I loved the Hotel am Rathaus for its excellent value and uncomplicated, warm and friendly staff.

I WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO GIVE MY REVIEW A READ FOR A VERY IMPORTANT REASON! So me and my colleagues stayed in this Ibis property from 15th-21st Sept 2019. Though the rooms were small and the breakfast everyday was the same, we still didn't mind as location wise this hotel was quite good. Next to the main centre and HBF. There were also couple of lady staffs who were very polite, nice and used to speak to us kindly and help us with any request if we had. Cheers to Women Empowerment!! But then why did i give 1 star as a rating? This is because of this particular incident which i am about to share. We had our return flight from Munich on 21st morning and hence we took a taxi at 6 AM in the morning. Now, we have inquired about a possibility of having a quick coffee and a croissant before we leave at 6 AM since we had a long flight ahead. So, after depositing the keys at the reception we went to the breakfast zone. Though the entire breakfast was served at that time, we took one coffee and one croissant each. When we were sipping our coffee, the guy from the reception came in and told us to "GET OUT" as the breakfast starts from 6:30 AM. We left the breakfast area and went to the reception area with our coffee and then I realized that the person actually asked us to GET OUT. When i asked him why did he say like that as we have PAID too for the breakfast that day (21st Sept), he tried to reason that breakfast starts at 6:30 AM. I explained to him that we have a flight to catch and we need to leave by 6 AM and that's why we picked up the coffee but he still did not stop shouting. When I asked him his name, he denied to tell his name even! Now, my point is he is in the hospitality industry and telling a customer "GET OUT" when the customer is about to leave is just not done, that too for something (we took a coffee & croissant at 6 AM and the breakfast starts at 6:30 AM even when we have paid for the breakfast) that small, is really not done. I hope the guy in the reception goes back to a hotel management course and reads, understands the word 'hospitality' properly. We work in Fujitsu and are frequent travelers to Augsburg (coming again in November). Though we liked the hotel but we will never come back to this hotel. Staying in hotel business

I have to concede. Intercity chain can apparently offer good accommodation at a decent price. In September 2018 I stayed in Intercity Berlin. Hysterical service and expensive then. This time friendly reception and summer sale for two of us. Couldn't ask for more really. If you are on a round trip by train the location is perfect. Three minutes from railway station. Small, silent and well equipped room for two nights. Comfy beds and gorgeous shower! Main objection is the lack of aircon. A feeble fan is not enough when European climate change summer heat wave strikes. We had to open windows to get some relief early morning and stand in the breeze to cool down. Intercity Augsburg offered a decent but not superb breakfast. The one thing we appreciated most during our stay was probably the free ticket to Augsburg's excellent public transport system. It provided perfect access to most sights in the - recently upgraded to Unesco World Heritage site - city!!

This hotel is centrally located on the main street in Augsburg and about 1.5km from the central train station. The staff were very friendly and service was at a high standard. We had a very spacious double room with seating area, TV, fluffy robes, spacious wardrobe, very comfortable bed and minibar plus a spacious bathroom. Our room was over the main street but we had no noise problems even though we were there over a Friday and Sat night. The breakfast buffet was very generous with made to order eggs, pancakes and crepes and a large range of every other possible breakfast choices. We also ate in for dinner one night and enjoyed a great dinner with efficient service. As well as being close to all the shops and restaurants, the hotel is right next door to the Palace with a great art museum and a 5 min walk to the beautiful Town Hall and Xmas Markets. Would definitely stay again and make use of the sauna and spa facilities.

The positives are the location, off road parking and the friendly staff. the room is also big and light and quiet and beds are fine ... it's a step back to the 70's in terms of decor, and there is no A/C so can get stuffy in the summer months. the breakfast is standard fare, but i thnk the prices are high for what you actually get ... i have no problem going back, but not my first choice in Augsburg.
