In fact, the one-night process was OK, but there happened to be a problem with the room I chose that day, and the waiter asked me to change to another room. The room is a bit small, the TV is broken, the water heater does not turn off automatically, and the lights are a bit dim. But you can enjoy the comfort and quiet during the rest🤫 This is the second time I've rented a hotel. It's my first experience. It's a bit noisy and you can hear other people's voices outside the door, but everything in the room is nice.

The check -in was regular and un eventful, but not very informed as to what we were getting for a room. We made our booking on booking.com however th room 208 that we walked into after check- in was nothing like the visual we saw online when we booked the room. The image online was a bright carpeted room with a large window, a queen sized bed with white clean linen. Room 208 was dark, had no windows, the phone did not work and there was a big patch of mold on the bathroom ceiling. We had to go back down to the front desk as the phone was not working so could not call down. Once at the front desk, I explained that the room we booked had a window, and we need to have a window. There was no apology for trying to put us in a room with no windows. The front desk lady explained that the only other room still available with a window has 2 beds not the one bed we booked. We did not have a choice, so we accepted the room with 2 beds. It was pass check in time, so there was not much rooms to offer. We were happy that we were able to get a new room available. Room 103, was better there was a window, but no carpet, room was one of 2 connection rooms, bathroom was clear of mold on the ceiling and good that the phone works and there was a bidet in the toilet and a rain shower too. We watched some CNA news in the afternoon but once we returned to the room at 10pm, there was no sound on the cna channel. We called down and were told it's the channel issue, I explained that there must be another channel in English not just CNA. We were told engineering has gone back for the day and will be back in the morning. I insisted and the lady informed that someone will come after 11pm to help, I said okay. The gentleman that came after 11pm, was helpful, he tuned channel 5, so that we could watch it and explained that cna is not working as its the channel issue. This was the best service provided to us on this visit.

We had an early checked in for 1 room & got another slightly after 3pm. So we got to recharge ourselves & our kids had a great time in the bathtub. We had an extraordinary assistant by Mr Hafizi (receptionist) when we were having trouble in our grab food delivery. Breakfast buffet was delicious. If only can have more variety like roti canai, tosai, mee soto, laksa, chicken rice. Valet parking was excellent. Security did a great job. Keep it up. But should have standardised sheltered valet parking. Sheltered & non sheltered valet parking carry different prices. Main entrance to the lobby should have a ramp or slope to ease up the luggages movements. Gym doesn’t have treadmills, just heavy weights. Overall, nice place to stay in & safe for our family too. Thank you for having us. Will patronise again in the near future.

We been here for few times. This time when we checked in, we met Receptionist name, Ms Nor Ashikin. She's grumpy, not friendly and has no eye contact. When we ask questions she didn't give eye contact. We wanna to inform her that we book 2 different booking, one with Trip.com and the other booking is directly to the hotel, due to rooms available at trip.com. Through our explanation, she didn't give us any eye contact. We have to ask again what we need to do. With her eyes looking at the screen, she told us tomorrow come down again with the key. That's all, so the next day we meet Ms Natasha, she was so friendly and helpful. We found out that Ms Nor Ashikin missed out our requirements. Ms Natasha helped us up. For Ms Natasha I will give 5 star but for Nor Ashikin, I'll give one star. Overall we love our stay here and will definitely come back but we hope we won't come across Ms Nor Ashikin. Not only to us, she was very hostile towards other guests too. The management needs to do something about her hostile attitude towards the Guest especially.

Wonderful stay as always! We are very pleased with the room size, layout and bathtub. Scenery outside is great too, overlooking the sea. Albeit location is abit inconvenient given the construction works surrounding City Square and nearby. Shuttle takes a long time to arrive at destination given the traffic during peak hours.

My second stayed here and breakfast is included if booked directly online. The receptionist and staff are helpful and friendly. The facilities are very complete. Room as per picture .. fast check in/out. Bed are very comfortable. Everything is worth and nice. 24-hrs Indian Muslim food just opposite the hotel. Perfect location. Nearby to Paradigm Mall & Sutera Mall JB. 5 stars facilities with 2 stars price. The room is cosy and very clean. Parking is limited but easy to find behind or surrounding the hotel. A decent buffet style breakfast consists of noodles/nasi lemak, sausages, nuggets, bread with jam & butter, half-boiled eggs, juices, coffee & tea. Better than what I expected. Definitely will stay in this hotel again for my next business trip here! I will return to this hotel for future stay. The location of the hotel is superb, just a ten minute walk away bars and restaurants a plenty, what makes it so special is the way they make you feel very welcome, from cleaning staff, and receptionists a really great team. However, you would be able to hear noise from the street. If you are sensitive to noise or prefer soundproof, suggest to booked the windowless room.

The view is excellent. Quiet place for a slow pace holiday. Do note there's no gym available. Only a level 7 swimming pool. The other 2 pools which I am looking forward we cannot use. Below there's a food court which sells good roti prata and nice fried chicken. And a small super market. About 15 mins drive to bukit indah town.

However unpleasant service experience Upon check-in at the hotel, the receptionist told us that the breakfast would be served from 6:30am to 11am at level 5. My husband and I were quite surprised with the timing and we still double confirm if its till 11am. The answer was certainly. We wrote down the infor ar the room card holder infront the receptionist. Next day, we went down our breakfast around 10:15am. We informed the staff our room number before we proceed to the table. The staff told us “ you have only 10 mins left”. I was in a shocked and asked why is it 10 mins left. He said the breakfast will be closed at 10:30am. I pointed at the board outside the restaurant which stated “6:30am - 11:00am” and told him that the receptionist informed us till 11am. He said he doesn’t know, but it’s 10:30am and he proceeded to do his stuffs. We didn’t want to argue further, just want to quickly grab our breakfast. There were limited food left , but had few stations provided noodles and eggs that they will cook upon request. I then ordered my noodles, but no one serve me. I walked to the egg section and ordered eggs. The lady told me “sorry we closed already”. I only took a few breads and returned to my table and shared what I have encountered to my husband. My husband went to order the egg for me again and got same reply. But he looked at his watch and showed them the timing which was 10:24am. The chef just looked at my husband without reply to him a single word and left the station through the door behind. We was being left infront of the counter and we waited for 5 mins , still no one return to the station counter. Feeling so pissed off with their attitude and unprofessional service. We went back to our table to have our breads. At around 10:41 which 20 mins later after we ordered the food, one of the waiter brought the eggs to us and left it on our table. Ramada is a large hotel chain and owned by Wyndham , operates around the world. I stayed their hotel in Singapore, Bangkok and Indonesia and never encounter such issues before. Kind of disappointed.

This area is very deserted, if you want to find a convinient store to buy drinks or snacks or dinner, you have to go out or book a grab. I have to check in myself so it's inconvenient. The security guard won't have any information. You have to call the support person for instructions on how to get the key and wifi. Next time I will choose a place near the center of Joho Bahru for convenient eating and sightseeing The advantage is that the room is about 55m2 wide, has a sofa bed so it can accommodate more people, suitable for a group of young people.

Location and facilities were great but let down by the stench coming from the common toilet which cause the whole room to smell too. The Good:: - Main bedroom bed was larger than a normal King size bed. It's either an Euro King or Super King size Comes with Nespresso coffee machine, washing, machine, dryer and dishwasher. Good for longer stay and self cooking. Area of Improvement:: (had feedback to counter staff) - Toilet was clean and tidy so suspect that the stench either came from the ventilation vents or the clogged pipes. Smell affect the whole room so had to close the toilet doors. - Main bedroom toilet sink was also clogged - Trip.Com showed 3 King size bed in description but 2 bedroom deluxe only comes with 1 x King and 2x Single. So it's misleading.

Requested for a queen bed during booking which they have options to choose from, but ended up giving 2 single beds. Shampoo was not provided, only provided one tub of body shower expected to use on hair as well. Otherwise it's near to JBCC, good to catch the early trains to Sg.

In terms of location, it is located in the peripherals of a housing estate and the front of the hotel faces the main road which makes crossing the road difficult. There is nothing else near the hotel, i.e. no eateries or shops or malls. The size of the room is considered small, although the bed is comfortable. Other than these 2 shortcomings, it is not too bad a stay. Staff in the hotel are polite and helpful. The housekeeping does a decent job and room is clean. I think they even spray fragrance on the pillows which make them smell good. The wifi is good. I like the design of the lobby, which gives a warm feeling with sofas and counter which they serve simple breakfast. Although the room does not come with breakfast, the hotel does provide simple breakfast, which comprise of bread, biscuits, half-boiled eggs, cup noodles in addition to coffee and tea and flavoured drinks. I find this a very nice touch. There is an Italian restaurant that serves Italian food as well as some local food. There is also a pub, which does creates some noise on a Saturday evening as they do have music on until about 1am. Although it does not cause too much disturbance even though we stayed on the second floor. Price wise, I would regard this as reasonable.

Location is good, easy to access to places in Johor Bahru. Surrounded by many restaurants, no matter Malay food, Chinese food, Western food all have. Room is clean enough, do provide towel and change everyday. They do have a guard who help to take care hotel guest's car which park in front of the hotel. One thing that I am not happy is their WiFi service, speed is slow and sometimes even cannot get connected. So better you get ready to use your own mobile network for internet access.

We stayed at this hotel for a quick transit before going out to Legoland. The family room is looks new, modern furnished, and spacious enough for our family of 5 (2 adult, 3 children). It is quite far from the JB city center, but really close to Legoland (5-10 min taxi ride) and also the SG-JB 2nd Link. There are some supermarket arround the hotel and for breakfast, a delicious Nasi Lemak is just arround the corner. Very recommended hotel.

I would have given it another star had the walls been thicker. The room was clean and decent. It’s good for a solo traveller to rest for a night or two. However the walls are thin. Hence I was rudely awaken when the phone in the neighbouring room rang at 3am! I have taken off another star because they charge RM20 per hour for early check-in. The check-in time was 2pm. My room was ready at 12noon but the receptionist insisted that I pay extra RM40 for the 2 hours. I find this ridiculous!

Fives Hotel Meldrum is a newly opened property in October 2023. It is 850m by walk from Johor Bahru Customs. To get to the hotel, you would need to use the link bridge near the customs that leads to R&F Mall. Just before reaching the mall, head down from the bridge and walk towards the direction of Grand Blue Wave Hotel (GBW). The property is located beside the back of GBW. A 24hrs security personnel is stationed at the main entrance of the hotel. Upon my arrival, the Front Desk Staff had requested a RM200 deposit for my check in registration. The rooms are situated from the first to ten floors. There is no fourth level in this building. I was accommodated in a Standard Queen Room (No. 311). Although the room offers a window, it faces the wall of a building. There is an ongoing construction site located beside the hotel, which I perceived to last for another year or more. Unfortunately, the construction noise is audible which only ended at 10pm during my weekday stay. I later approached the Night Manager and paid a RM40 upgrade to stay in a Standard King Room with no window (No. 308). There is no noise as this room is located in the middle section of the building. Local, Singapore TV and Malaysian radio station channels are available for entertainment in the room. The SMART TV also offers Netflix and YouTube. There are two USB charging ports and three power sockets for your mobile device charging needs. The air-conditioner functions well and keeps the room cool. Shower gel, shampoo with conditioner, toothbrush and paste are provided. The shower head is fixed to the bathroom wall. I found the water pressure to be acceptable, but the temperature is lukewarm. A-lar carte breakfast is offered at RM25 per person, though I did not consume my breakfast at the property. Nearby the hotel, there are several coffeeshops located behind a public carpark that serve breakfast. Among them is Restoran Ah Bee Bak Kut Teh (Pork Ribs Soup) which is a popular eatery among the locals. There are also convenience stores and halal eateries located within walking distance from the hotel. Connoisseur Food Generation, a trendy food court is situated a 5-min walk from the hotel. This place has many food stalls that offer a wide variety of cuisine. There is also live band during my dining there. Whilst the location may not be perfect, Fives Hotel Meldrum is great for those who are seeking something new and an affordable stay in Johor Bahru.

If you consider as Malaysia, and lower your expectation, this is a near perfect place to stay. I booked at 2 nights for SGD 126, it is an absolute steal. Just across the road is Mall of Medini, where it is connected to Legoland at the other end of the mall. Supermarket, fastfood, chicken rice shop is located in the mall. Just below the block on the left is an indian grocery stall, and a 7-11, and Gleneagles is just at the other side from Mall of Medini. Food are easily accessible in the area during daytime. There is a park, interconnecting other building in the development on G floor. Swimming pool on highest floor at level 22, with a gym. Bath tub is relatively clean, aircon is good, cleanliness is acceptable, only the washing machine was faulty, everything else required is working well. There were 2 toilets, sufficient for all of us, and we were given 4 towels, also with shampoo and shower gel, but take note there is not toothbrush and toothpaste provided. Aircon is cold, wifi is provided upon request, security guard at lobby, this place is recommended. The unit is spacious, my son tried to balance bike ard the house.
