      So normally I wouldn’t think to stay at the W for work, but I must say this is my current favorite work hotel location in SF (& I go often enough that it’s become a bit of a game testing out new hotels). Pros: great location, easy for metro/bus/muni/etc if you are inclined, basic but functional gym (kinda feels like a weird space club but that’s cool every now and then, needs more free weights), rooms are sp**** and very usable, the long desk for work and window seat were great, gorgeous bathrooms, sculptural headboard… (tl;dr it’s a beautiful modern hotel). Cons: their restaurant is only open Thursday-Sun and breakfast on the weekends which is completely useless to the work week traveler, area is a bit of a food desert at night and you’ve gotta commit to a 8+ min walk for coffee/tea, they only have coffee (I’m currently only drinking tea), zero view from my room (like 5 foot alleyway to the wall of the SFMoma (if you’re traveling for pleasure… inquire about a view). Would stay here again, hopefully with in-hotel dining available. Tip: Cafe Madeline around the corner has surprisingly good sandwiches, etc. Nice for a no fuss bite to eat.

      For my wife's birthday, we stayed at the St. Regis. The overall experience was first-rate. To begin with a nice note and Birthday plate from the General Manager. The corner room with view over the city spectacular. The superb location right across the street from the Yerba Buena gardens and next door to the Modern Museum of Art. Breakfast with an outstanding menu and service added to our trip. Mona was our service attendant who went out of her way to provide my wife with a nice creme brultet plate. If you want a special SFO city experience, St. Regis is the place to stay.

      I have stayed at this hotel in the past when it was a different hotel brand, and did not like it then. I remember the guest room as being very cramped, and over-priced. I was very much impressed on this visit, and very surprised that it was the former hotel I disliked, as it had no semblance to its former self. We had a room on the 17th floor. The view of the night lights of the city below was dazzling. The room was very spacious. It had a settee or bench that could sleep another guest. We shared a king-size bed. There was a fair-sized room refrigerator and coffee maker. Check-in was quick. We used the auto valet service. Our car was ready when we came down. The only regret we have is we didn’t have enough time to enjoy our stay at the hotel. We will definitely consider staying at this hotel on our next visit to SF. It is very conveniently located close to the Convention Centre, Union Square, and the shopping center.

      The male staff in the evening shift is very friendly, very patient, always smiling, and the service is very good! It rained outside and I also borrowed an umbrella for me. The room was great, my room was on the top floor, there was a balcony in the room and the bed was very comfortable! The location is very good, just in the city center, to various attractions, shopping and shopping, the surrounding restaurants are very convenient, it should be the best hotel I have ever stayed on this trip! If you have the chance to go to Berlin again, you have to choose this hotel!

      This hotel is the most convenient location in San Francisco. It is located at the intersection of Market Street and 4th Street. The Marriott Hotel is right in front of you. There is a Ross store diagonally. I stayed for 5 nights. There are no slippers or toothbrushes in the room, so you need to bring them with you. I got one box of tissue at the front desk. There is no refrigerator. The microwave is on the ground floor. My daughter's room has only a shower, but my room also has a bathtub. The receptionists were all very kind. One of them spoke Japanese and was really kind. There are restaurants and supermarkets near here, so it's very convenient. There are many trains, so it is a good place for sightseeing.

      We got a really great deal with this hotel for three nights. The hotel felt very safe even though it's on Fourth between Market and Mission. The front desk people were really nice and wore masks and monitored the front door really well to ensure only guests and restaurant patrons were permitted inside. That said, the street outside was much less busy than I thought it would be. The restaurant "Dirty Habits" was a ho-hum experience - I felt the waitress (as nice as she was) didn't really listen to what I asked for and certainly didn't deliver it - and the meals left a little to be desired. However, being able to eat outdoors in San Francisco in an enclosed area without people walking by your table is a winner in my book. I would put this hotel on my "would stay here again" list - not every hotel gets that rating from me :)

      Spent 2 days at the Galleria for a shopping trip. It is perfectly located - close to lots of shopping, restaurants, and BART. I easily arrived at the hotel using BART for transportation from the airport. (It's 2 blocks from the BART station). The rooms are a little on the small side (but to be expected in downtown SF) but had everything I needed. Loved the ILLY coffee in the room, and we enjoyed the Happy Hour wine.

      Booked up here with my partner very short notice after our air b n b fell through. No where else in San Fran you can get this reasonable. Shared bathrooms which are adequate. The beds are about the only thing that gets cleaned in the room however. Years worth of dust has collected and never been cleaned. If you need somewhere cheap to suffice for a few nights and San Fran this is more than doable. Reception guy is really nice too!

      I chose a room without breakfast but the hotel will also provide a complimentary breakfast. It is good that our breakfast for three days is settled in the hotel. There is a sugar orange juice chocolate candy corn sugar circle, but there are not many varieties but it has helped me solve the breakfast problem. . The hotel room is small but still very clean, with a microwave fridge and coffee maker. There is no tramp nearby, the hotel is open night, no one cares about it, but we have nothing to do for a few nights, so I will stay in this hotel again next time.

      This hotel is under new management so we couldn't see many reviews before booking but it was a great experience! the self check-in was a breeze (we received all the info in an email) and our room was nice and clean. The room is cozy but normal size for SF and if we needed a little more space we just went down to the lobby lounge area. There was wifi in the room and in the lobby area. The kitchen was super convenient to make a quick breakfast. We didn't use the washer/dryers but if we stayed longer we probably would have. We could walk to Union Square and there is also a Trader Joe's a couple blocks away. It was a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights!

      I booked the Proper hotel after reading reviews of various hotels in the area. We were scheduled to attend a show at the Warfield and I wanted to be as close as possible to avoid excessive walking at night, or having to connect with an Uber (I was not certain how long it would take following a show). The hotel is literally two blocks away and the easiest walk you can ask for. The hotel itself is beautiful - it is very clean and the staff is helpful, friendly, and accommodating. As with other reviews - please understand that this is a boutique style hotel - the rooms are SMALL. But they are well appointed with everything you need. They are quiet and they have blackout shades for nighttime. (as for size - it would be similar to a larger child's bedroom). We had two meals onsite and both were very good, one in room service (the food was actually still warm upon arrival - rare for room service), as well as breakfast at Villon (the overnight oats are incredible). We were only quickly able to have drinks at Charmaine's, but the roof top is very pretty and a nice escape / view of the city skyline. Valet services were on par (cost wise) with anywhere else in the city and again, valet staff was great! They warn you that it may take 30-45 minutes to get your car to you but there is a text option so you can request from your room, or as we did once we were finishing our breakfast before departure. It only took 20 minutes in our case. It was a nice feature to not have to worry about finding a parking garage and schlepping all of our things from parking to the hotel. The area is a tough one - it definitely hurt my heart to see so many homeless folks - they do literally line the streets setting up at night for sleep. BUT - not a single person bothered us on our walk back from the theater. They really do keep to themselves and the only interactions I experienced were a returned smile and a lady on the steps of one of the hotel entrances telling us we had to go to the back because they lock the front doors at night. I will say that was my only struggle - to be so lucky to stay in an opulent setting while others are sleeping on the street and struggling to eat that day.

      Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero is just incredible. Since the beginning of our stay that every detail was taken into consideration. We arrived very early in the morning and as a long shot we asked for early check in, and front desk staff checked us in promptly. Moreover, they upgraded our room. We have a couple of other benefits (including breakfast which was equally incredible) as it was our first time in Four Seasons. At the end, we enjoyed so much the stay we asked for a late check out and the staff immediately accepted. No negative points to add.

      What the hotel does well: It’s quiet! As a business traveler I really appreciate thick walls and not having kids or adults behaving as children running through the halls. The closets. The closets are large and well appointed. I have a large hard sided suitcase and was able to open it completely and access everything in it without having to remove it from the closet. Comfortable bedding. Slept like a baby. Where the hotel can improve. The bathrooms. While large, they only featured a shower. All the other JWs I’ve stayed in have a bath and shower or at least a combo. No desks. The room had a strange high top table that could be used as a desk, but really big enough too and they didn’t have power. Not what you want when traveling for work. Front desk team. They seemed understaffed. It took a really long time get help each time I interacted with them. They just felt kind of cold, going through the motions of their job.

      Front office staff were very helpful. Room was just average. Toilet was clogged. Charger point was broken. We got car parking and that is a big plus point. Walk-able distance, about 15 to 20 mins, to Fisherman warf, Ghirardelli, Pier 33. The staff was prompt to arrive when called for toilet unclogging service. Though he unclogged it within a min, he messed up the room with toilet water when he carried back the toilet water drenched plunger which he used to unclog the toilet. He did not even cleaned the room after he messed up. This was really disgusting experience.

      Fisherman's Wharf is next door. It takes 5-10 minutes to watch the seals from Pier 39 and see their feet. San Francisco's famous Dangdang Departure Station is next door, and you can directly go to Dangdang City Center. In addition, Uber is expected to get it within 10-15 yuan for the ordinary car of the Golden Gate Bridge. All in all a hotel worth recommending. If you use the hotel's parking service, it is expected to cost about $ 100 per day, which is a bit painful. Expensive parking in San Francisco is obvious to all.

      The location is good, the top of the church hill, the Federation Square, far away from the crowds. Downstairs is the scenic spot, and the rooftop bar is also a good place for viewing, but there are too many people. The price is affordable in San Francisco (even compared to Federation Square). If you don't mind climbing back, there is TraderJoe’s on the mountainside to the west, Whole Foods Market a few blocks away, and a corner grocery store on the south slope. Living on the top of the mountain means going out and going downhill, and going back uphill. The breakfast in the hotel is on the first floor. It must be near the window to have a little view, otherwise, if you have time, it is better to go out and visit a nearby breakfast shop. The room facilities are older, but still useful. The room I lived in was facing west on the 9th floor. I couldn't see the small square and the Bay Gorge downstairs to the north, but it was not blocked. It was very bright in the afternoon. I could also see the Grace Cathedral and the roof of the parking lot next door ( My car is parked there). The parking lot next door is good, simple and practical, park for 40 dollars for 24 hours by yourself, in and out. The parking lot of the Stonecutter Temple 38 a block away was 24 hours a day, but it was full at that time. There are also street berths nearby, it depends on luck. The top of the mountain is prone to wind and fog, so please dress appropriately.

      I have been twice to this fantastic hostel, I really love the design. The first time I booked for a 6 beds room with a private bathroom and it was really big, the room was small for 6 people, especially in covid time, it had a small kitchenette. the beds were comfortable but to close each other, I refuse to have the middle down and I change it with first on top. Nice staying. The second time I choose 4 beds with a shared bathroom and I had been alone 3 nights on 4 fortunately because the room again was so small for 4 people, there was a sink and 2 tables with chairs, not too bad! both of the rooms were clean and tidy, nice smell and black carpet as I love! look like everybody was quiet and I had a nice stay, in the second room bed number 4 a big one was a bit uncomfortable and noisy when I moved but nothing more. Nice people at the reception all the time, helpful and policies, fresh fruit every day, coffee and tea, microwave and tap water sink for everybody. The bathrooms shared outside the room was mostly clean but I found it quite dirty once, isn t the property fault if someone is unrespectful. To finish the position, at first, I noticed it was a perfect position to reach everything, but the second time I was annoyed by the stench of piss outside.

Good spacious room, the only downside was the fire didn’t work and as it was Easter there was no maintenance. Tea/coffee on tap in the sister hotel just down the street, wine and snacks each evening and decent complimentary breakfast to get you started. Good location for the cable cars and buses, walkable to fisherman’s wharf, Lombard street, Chinatown and good shopping.

      I stayed here during a conference where the price was raised to $240/night. If the price had been quite a bit lower as it might normally be, I probably wouldn't complain much. The location is hard to beat in terms of proximity to Union Square and the Moscone Center, and the front desk staff was friendly. Other reviews have noted that the rooms are dated--and I found that to be true as well. But, my room was clean. The wifi worked, and the rooms were insulated from noise from adjoining rooms. However, there was hardly any noise isolation from the outside. I was on the 6th floor facing Geary Street, and I could hear just about everything going on well into the evening. The heat in my room was also not working until my last night there--and that combined with very thin covers left me pretty cold (though the bed itself was comfortable). When the heat did work, it made a strange noise reminiscent of a dying cat, so I ended up turning it off anyway. One tip for taller or larger travelers: I am 5' 2'', and the shower head was only 2 inches above my head. So if you're much taller than me, you'll be bending down to rinse your hair. You'll also find the bathroom overall to be quite small.

      We stayed at the Stanford Court Hotel for two nights and I have to say that it exceeded our expectations in every way. Carlton was the most amazing. My boyfriend and i called to see if we could get a room where the TV was located facing the bed, and Carlton switched us to a beautiful and more spacious room, and he always met us with a smile when we returned or left the hotel. It's a pleasure to come across with staff that is so committed to making guests feel at home . Thank you Carlton for going the extra mile, we really appreciate it! Must highlight that they offer reusable water bottles that you refill as many times as you want from a filter in the lobby. Great environmentally friendly practice!!! And the water tastes GREAT (I'm VERY picky with water taste)

      We stayed for 6 nights at the property in March 2022, in one of the two bedroom suites with a view of the Bay. The accommodation was lovely, with comfortable beds, a fireplace, stylish furnishings, and it was a very generous size. The view from our bedroom window was gorgeous, and the atmosphere of this converted factory, with exposed brick and quirky spaces is very unique. Our unit was also very well equipped with everything we needed to prepare a meal when we wanted, and it was supplied with luxurious toiletries, robes and towels. The size and layout were perfect for a family, offering plenty of space and privacy for myself my husband and our adult children. We were there to visit one of our daughters who had moved to San Fran, and a couple of nights she stayed over with us and the pull out in the living room easily allowed for 5 adults to be comfortable in the apartment ( indeed, I think with the pull out the unit would be comfortable even for 6 people). The accommodation is really a high end super comfortable full apartment, so it felt like a home away from home, but with full housekeeping services! My daughter took full advantage of the large soaker tub, and as we all needed to get a little work done while we were visiting, it was easy for each of us to find our own spot to be on a computer, or alternatively relax in front of the fireplace or TV. The public spaces of the property are also terrific, offering a couple of huge outdoor decks with fire pits that were great for sitting out on a cool evening. The deck on the second floor with a panoramic view of the Bay was especially fabulous, and we had a little wine and cheese visit with some friends out there one night that was wonderful. The property's location, attached to the shops and restaurants of Ghiradelli square and easy walking distance to the bay, and Fisherman's wharf, as well as to Russian Hill, was super convenient and made the stay relaxing as we could grab a bite whenever we wanted at one of the nearby restaurants and go for beautiful walks along the water straight from the hotel. The thing that really set the hotel apart, though, was the service. Without exception every staff person I had contact with was smiling, helpful, and super accommodating. I have travelled extensively and can't recall any place I've been where the staff were as noticeably pleasant. They really went the extra mile to be helpful. We will definite come back!!

      This place was perfectly located and perfect for our needs as a family of 4 (parents and two teenage boys). We got a family suite (Room 315) with 2 double beds and a round sitting table in the main room and a separate room with a queen bed. Room 315 faces Columbus street and gets some street noise (you can hear garbage trucks, etc) but the view of Coit Tower and surroundings is worth it. if you are really sensitive to noise, you can request a room that does not face the street but that room faces the backside of another building and has no view. For an extra $10 a day (or was it $5?), you can rent a small fridge for our stay. The inn has free parking (worth the price alone!) and many bus cable stops are located nearby. In fact, there is one bus stop literally outside the door of the inn. Many tourists sites are located within a short walk or bus trip but the location did not feel like it was overrun by tourist at all. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room, while not luxurious, was perfectly clean and comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I highly recommend to everyone.

      Pro: The location as you are near Chinatown and SFMOMA but that’s about it. There’s television set that has 3 channels only, which was fine. Wifi was okay. Cons: The room was slanted! Literaly, I’d get dizzy walking around the room. The carpet floors smell terrible. One of my pillow cases had a stain, and the pillows were not comfortable. There was also some sort of bugs crawling up the bed. I got the room with a private bathroom. Bathroom was clean (thank God). The closet had mismatched hangers (includinga broken one). There’s only 1 window which I suggest you keep the curtains covered so you can’t see the other guests/rooms. I had a hard time sleeping since I’d open the window to let the air in but I could hear the person from the next room snoring since their window was also open. The elevator was terrible and the personel at the front desk don’t even help you open the elevator door. I chose to take the stairs instead which were narrow amd dirty (could see popcorn on the floor). If you really must choose to stay here, stay with a friend. Although I stayed alone I didn’t feel entirely safe or comfortable. Not going to stay here again. *If you watched The Shining, that’s what the hallway and bathroom looked like. I have no pics of my actual room cause it was that terrible.

      We have been staying in this hotel for 8 years (twice a year / 1 week each time). It is a convenient location for us and the staff, up until today, has always been friendly and helpful. We even came and stayed here during lockdown and pandemic when hotel had very few customers. This time when we checked in the air conditioner didn’t work right. We called receptionist and it looked liked he fixed the problem. Three days later we came to realization that the air conditioner still was not working correctly. Even thought it was set to cool down at 72 F, the temperature in the room got up to 78 F. The air coming out of AC was cool, but apparently not cold enough to cool the room. A man who identified himself as the manager of the hotel came to our room supposedly to fix the problem. The first thing he did was closed the curtains. He said it was very sunny outside and that is why it is hot inside our room. Really?! Does the manager really expect us to live without natural sunshine like we were in a Ukrainian bomb shelter? Then the manager said there is no problem with the air conditioner - the air coming out is cool. Every time we tried to explain what happens he would not listen and interrupted us. Every single time.! Then he came with the best solution for the hospitality business - “if you don’t like it move out of this hotel!” Not to mention that it was said with anger and hate. We were just stunned! We never experienced such treatment in any hotel. The manager went downstairs then called us and said he was shortening our stay in the hotel. We had to leave the next day. This was despite the fact that our 8 night stay had been fully prepaid. Since we had paid, we ignored the managers instructions. The day before our scheduled check out, a receptionist came to our room and said we were late in leaving the hotel. We showed him our prepaid reservation. It turned out the manager gave the front desk instructions to throw us out of the hotel. The hotel did not even offer to refund the remaining money we paid. And, like cowards always do, the manager was afraid to do it by himself, so he delegated it to somebody else. To say that his behavior was unacceptable is a massive understatement. There are many hotels in San Francisco in this price range. Our advice - do not stay in Coventry Inn. Managers who have such contempt for their customers deserve empty hotels.

      This hotel is the most convenient location in San Francisco. It is located at the intersection of Market Street and 4th Street. The Marriott Hotel is right in front of you. There is a Ross store diagonally. I stayed for 5 nights. There are no slippers or toothbrushes in the room, so you need to bring them with you. I got one box of tissue at the front desk. There is no refrigerator. The microwave is on the ground floor. My daughter's room has only a shower, but my room also has a bathtub. The receptionists were all very kind. One of them spoke Japanese and was really kind. There are restaurants and supermarkets near here, so it's very convenient. There are many trains, so it is a good place for sightseeing.

      There are small supermarkets and restaurants in the surrounding area. There is no feeling of inconvenience. It is convenient to take the light rail for 50 minutes after taking the bus No. 49 at the airport. The entire journey costs 12.6. To Union Square, Chinatown, and the Municipal Building are all within walking distance. The hotel room is quite big, there is a free coffee machine, and it seems that the hotel is still very satisfied! Will stay next time!

      HI Hostel San Francisco Mason Street was my first experience staying in a hostel and if it is consistently like it was to stay here, then I'd definitely do it again. The rooms here are incredibly affordable and while you may not get the privacy of a hotel to yourself, the spaciousness and availability of rooms makes it so that you'll more likely not feel overcrowded. Despite the age of the building, it's been kept up with modern amenities. The hostel has Wi-Fi available to guests; power outlets, USB charger ports, and a reading light at the head of each bed; and a dedicated space to do work, eat, and relax. On top of that, the hostel also has free breakfast, hosts community events for guests, and more. All of this combined with its proximity to Union Square and the entirety of Downtown makes it a great choice for just about anyone. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time I visit the Bay Area.

      This is a small hotel very close to Union Square. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is definitely deteriorating; homeless people abound, but even worse, many are drunk and/or drug addicts, and the area just feels very unsafe. The hotel front door is locked & requires key card access, as does the elevator. There is an Irish pub attached on the first floor, but we had no noise issues at all even on a a Saturday night. The rooms are updated & clean. They are small (as expected for a downtown hotel, but quite nice. The bathroom was very nice. The window shade wasn’t perfect (a few small holes & light in the side), but if that’s my only complaint about the room, it’s pretty great. Park in the Mason O’Farrell garage a block up from the hotel for $35 overnight rather than the $60 the hotel charges for valet. You can unload your bags in the loading zone on the side street just to the right of the hotel (facing it) next to the Irish pub. The staff at the hotel was good. Alyssa (sorry if that’s misspelled) at the front desk was amazing. She was SO helpful. She got us our room early. She gave us tips (where to park, transportation, etc). She was there both days & helped us a ton! Breakfast was disappointing because of covid. All they had was some light snacks to grab & go (some individually wrapped honey buns, fruit [apples, bananas, oranges), & oatmeal; we got the last cereal bar, but there wasn’t even enough of those for us). So while I recommend the hotel, I would say to be wary of the neighborhood. We had no issues, but were very careful. If you have to stay in this neighborhood, this is a good choice. I'd recommend staying in the warehouse district, which felt a bit safer to me.

      I have been going here for years (except for during the pandemic). The hotel needs a freshening up as the room is looking a bit worn. Also, it would be great if there were drawers or something to store things like socks and t-shirts that don't need to be hung up. Also if you can, try to get parking in front of the hotel. The other option is in the shopping mall parking lot and while I didn't have any problems, a friend's car was broken into, which we heard is not uncommon. But having said all that, the service is excellent. Housekeeping is friendly and efficient. And the front desk - absolutely marvelous. Nikolai (sp?) was smart, friendly and very helpful. I will return because they really make me feel like a welcome and honored guest.
