|3.71km from city centerAraiya is the perfect hotel if you want to get away from it all and have some peace and quiet or if you want to explore the area and return to a comfortable, even luxurious hotel at the end of your day. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is also a positive - it is far away up in the hills and reached by driving endless perilous winding mountain roads. But it also means you find yourself in paradise when you get there. The service is exceptional and special mention must be made of Ravi and the chef of the Araiya restaurant. They all spoke good English and were there for any request we had. There are abundant delicious dishes on the menu; a pool; bar; and an excellent spa. In fact we had the best massages we have ever had. The place is spotlessly clean, the rooms are huge, and everything seems new and is well-maintained. Enjoy the breathtaking surroundings and tranquility while you unwind.

Deepa at reception was also very sweet. Food was good. There would always be some scope of improvement for all hotels, ignoring those, we enjoyed our stay.

|34.01km from city centerOur home stay was almost magical. The quiet serenity of the home next to a hill, and the welcoming staff are soothing. The owners were not present but the staff comprising of three cooks and two other gentlemen made our stay memorable with their warmth and wonderful hospitality. The food is amongst the best I've ever had outside home coming from me who's a foodie who tries out new dishes everywhere. The Himachali thali, khatta meat and fresh trout fish were excellently prepared by chef Sunny. Personally I loved their beverages the most. The hot chocolate prepared by Pritam ji was stellar. Rich and the best I've ever had with good portion size, in comparison to hotel chains. So was the amazing lemon ginger honey tea which has perfect proportions. We had it thrice throughout the stay. Vikas ***** with Barfi the dog engaged my four year old daughter very well and she played with him. He was very helpful and catered to every need of ours. They chatted with us nicely throughout including chef ***nu who's a wonderful singer and we had a lovely time jamming on the rooftop with his guitar. The dining area and cafe on the roof are charming with Himachali decor. Actually the entire house is very beautifully done up with carefully selected Tibetan artefacts and colorful wall art. They have four rooms. They have all the facilities of a standard hotel. We plan to stay there again and hope that the same staff would be present.
