|3.45km from city centerAmarillo as a city is not very nice. It’s about the only stop of significance along the I40. It is nothing more then endless hotels, restaurants, shops and gas stations. We have stayed in the Comfort Inn and Suites twice while making the drive to California. This hotel is a very good place to stay. Large rooms. Clean. Well run. Great breakfast choices. It was a pleasure to stay there. Not sure we would be back that way, but if so, we would definitely stay there. Good job property owner, manager and staff.

|1.6km from city centerThe hotel is very big and there are quite a lot of people staying during our Thanksgiving holiday. The room is big enough and the basic facilities are new enough, but there is a thin layer of scale on all kinds of glass, which may be related to the water quality.
During the covid period, the hotel’s breakfast is to send out a packing box and go for breakfast like a canteen. There are various types of doughnuts, cakes and fruits for cold food, and oatmeal scrambled eggs, sausages and fries for hot food.
There are almost no free parking spaces in the hotel. There is a garage across the street for 7 yuan a day. There are many (more than ten) street parking spaces at the door. It is free all day on weekends and evenings on weekdays.

Hotel is modern, clean, and up to date for a location that was built in 1927. Surprising good night life and several restaurants that are within walking distance of the hotel. Several right across the street. A very quiet pleasant stay. Didn't hear people coming or going from their rooms at all hours of the nights. I had a room that was next to the elevator and never heard it once and this was on a busy weekend. The only downfall with the property was a lack of pool/spa. So this may or may not be a deal breaker if you are trying to entertain kids.

I really did appreciate that as it is very hard to find rooms that will take in multiple pets. I would stay there again and highly recommend people to stay there. A very pleasant stay. Kolbi at the front desk was happy to take the time to show me the remodeled rooms on the first and second floor. She helped me with my little requests from the laundry room supplies, pool and workout area. Sophia, also at the front desk, with whom I made our reservation, went above and beyond to visually inspect the room options to ensure we had a shower my husband could safely use. She put us in a suite on the third floor with a walk in shower and bench for my husband and a jetted tub for me. Our suite included a wet bar, an additional half bath and dining area as part of the great room with two seating areas and 2 huge TVs. We were very happy with an our accommodations. Randi from the restaurant enhanced the hotel breakfast and elevated it to a near, private hotel lounge level w her impeccable service. The omelette and made to to order waffle and eggs were a great touch for a very reasonable price. Robert, the building engineer, responded within minutes of our request for help w the a/c in our great room. It turned out the actual air conditioning and heating unit was faulty and he had it replaced wi the hour. I will gladly stay at this property again and look forward to when all the remodeling is finished. At present the 1st and 2nd floors have been totally remodeled. Crisp, clean, modern yet welcoming interior design that has also been done in the lobby, shop, bar and restaurant.

Property was set back far enough from the Interstate that noise was not a problem despite room facing the highway. Hotel is surrounded by other similar class hotels. Lots of restaurants and stores close by. The area felt safe to me.

|3.73km from city centerI was at the 1Hotel July just days after the 4th. After reading reviews , my decision was it was a 50-50 chance of having either a great or terrible experience . It sounded interesting at the very least to see this historic hotel and the price was great. It did not disappoint . I looked for the dreaded bugs or any kind of shabbiness . Yes the room upstairs near a large cherub statue had carpet that smelled a little musty at first but it was a very large and comfortable room with ornate surroundings . The pool had water but I never saw anyone in it during my short overnight stay . The staff was very friendly and pleasant at all times. Negatives can only be found by whining about the fact that I thought it was on walkable streets as I had imagined . Yes the parking lot had a few questionable people in it at night . What public parking lot in a large city doesn’t ? The strangest thing to me was seeing the dining area tables and floors were cleaned by 9 am and I saw no traces of people or food or coffee . Final analysis - seems a little other worldly and is extremely nice despite price and some bad reviews .

|10.04km from city centerNewer, clean hotel one mile from the airport. Comfortable beds and nice size rooms. The staff was especially courteous and accommodating. Surprisingly quiet with regard to airplane noise, but I was really unhappy about the dog in our hallway who was BARKING at midnight. This is why I cannot stand pet-friendly hotels. I paid $148 to be awakened at midnight when I had to be up at 3:30 am to catch a flight. Leave your pets at home, or pay my hotel bill.

This was a disappointing stay. We had just stayed at another Home 2 Suites that was excellent so we had high hopes for this one, and it fell short. Front desk was friendly & efficient. Breakfast staff friendly but it was chaotic since no one knew they would be serving us, vs us helping ourselves which is the norm. The hallway & room carpet both need a deep cleaning. The bathroom doors are pocket doors which are fine when they work. This one tilted downward so it wouldn’t stay closed And this: we couldn’t find a cup, or drinking glass so called the front desk who told me to “look in the dishwasher.” Really?? I realize it’s a suite with dishes, fridge ect. But when staying for just one night, or even beginning a multi-night stay, everything should be clean & in its place. Very disappointing. The “clean” dishes also had filmy stuff on them so had to wash before using. Not fond of unloading the dishwasher at home & certainly don’t want in a hotel. Lots of potential in this place but it definitely needs work.

The cook Issac cooks the food when you arrive so that you getting a fresh hot meal instead of food that has just been sitting. Issac takes pride in preparing you breakfast and its good! My husband loved his freash biscuits. Chris needs to give this guy a raise 🙂. Definitely 5 star staff!

|13.88km from city centerWon’t be back- -Award night not allowed for platinum -Internet was terrible -door had to be closed forcibly to close - loud due to proximity of interstate - hard to get to for construction All of these were inconveniences but livable. Hotel was theoretically sold out so we couldn’t book another room for family member. Then Our toilet stopped working and they told us no one here to fix it but would move us to another room. When I said I thought you were sold out, I was told that “we keep an extra of each room type for when things like this happen. I asked if we could also use the room without a working toilet since no one else could use it for the night. “No but we could sell it for 1/2 price”. So we couldn’t use award night, no consideration for moving rooms, and were “allowed” to pay another $85 for a room with no toilet. It’s rare for us to stay at holiday inn Express anymore. Normally it’s holiday inn when we use IHG properties. Last few experiences with express have all been subpar. This one appeared to be clean- but not the service we’re used to- and certainly no feeling of appreciation. My rule is to stick with 4 star or better ratings when booking- broke my rule for this one location… but wish I hadn’t. The fact that they were able to squeeze an extra $85 out of us I guess gives them the win.

|3.38km from city centerAs soon as we entered we should have turned around, but we had pre-paid and were on a schedule. The lobby was messy and the front door broken. Trash present in the beds out front. Front desk was not friendly and gave no directions to room, albeit maybe she had a bad day. We got a room on 5th floor facing I-40, super noisy have earplugs. No coffee maker in the room and we couldn’t get TV to turn on, but didn’t bother reporting it as we had phones. Furniture was in disrepair, walls peeling, chair torn, paint on the TV, and carpet you don’t want to walk barefoot on. I swear the stain on the floor looked like somebody was murdered or committed suicide in the room. We were only there to get some sleep for 8 hours so we did the best we could, but nobody wanted to shower in the morning so we skipped them. The breakfast was a joke, cereal, bananas and juice. Go to IHOP next door.

My only complaint is something that probably can't be helped we wanted to eat at the restaurant in the hotel, and they were out of hamburgers. I would think that restaurant wouldn't run out early in the day. The welcoming staff at the front desk, was very nice I requested specific instructions on my room and they placed me on the bottom floor. They did tell me they had no extra pillows to give me I had requested two extra pillows and they said they didn't have them? Since when does the hotel not have extra pillows? All in all it was a very beautiful hotel a very good stay the pool was nice, and we probably will plan on staying there again. But I may feel the need to either bring my own hamburgers or pillows LOL

Told to park in a vacant dirt lot across the street and check in clerk not very friendly. If you stay here, don't explore Amarillo and have fun. Get back early and so you can maybe park in the parking lot.

I have never heard of hotels doing this unless you are downtown in a major city or parking in a parking garage. Not only that, the rooms are super outdated. Plus, our TV doesn’t work, and they only gave us one coffee pod for our Keurig. Oh and there is no free breakfast. Plus side is that the staff is nice and there is a bar. But all the little things you get charged for and/or don’t have will cause me to never stay here again.

|8.72km from city centerDue to severe weather in Dallas and Denver, our plane--plus countless others--was stranded in Amarillo at 3:00am. (Arrival in Colorado Springs was supposed to have been at 6:00pm the day before!) We finally found a hotel with an available room--which happened to be this Hampton Inn--and arrived around 9:00am. The front desk was apologetic and said the room would probably not be ready until noon or later, but we could make ourselves at home in the lobby/breakfast area. We got comfortable and immediately feel asleep; however, the head of housekeeping woke us up 30 minutes later to tell us they had our room ready!! We cannot say enough good things about the way we were treated!! Should we ever find ourselves in this area, we will definitely stay here again!
