The environment is great, the room is square, the aunt who cleans the room every day is very serious, there is a bath on the 2nd floor, there is a sauna inside, and you can wash clothes and dry outside, but there seems to be dust in the dryer. In terms of environment, it is very close to Yamagata Station, but the hotel is quite remote. In addition to these, the others are very satisfied and the price is very high.

I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. The hotel itself may be a little old, but it is well kept and the floors are clean. The rooms are also clean. An air purifier with humidification function is also available. I stayed on the 9th floor, and the windows could be opened to allow fresh air. There is a parking lot in the ba*****t of the hotel, and you can park for 700 yen per night.

Cheap anyway! The feeling of that place at the entrance is so good! Must be like this! Best! The room was beautiful! ! ! I didn't care about the reputation that it smells like cigarettes! There are many shops around, and this price was good for this location. If you want to travel alone and save money, this is the best option! I was able to stay comfortably without meals! ! !

The check-in time was 3 o'clock, but I arrived 25 minutes early, so I thought I'd just check in, but when I entered, I was told that it would start at 3 o'clock and was kicked out.I was asked to come back after 3 o'clock. This is the first time this has happened to me. is. Many hotels usually let you wait in the lobby or let you enter if you are ready. I stayed for several nights, but at first I was told that the fee would be paid at the time of check-out, but when I returned on the second day, I was suddenly asked to pay the fee.And when I entered the parking lot, there were about 50 customers coming today, so I stopped. All of the staff members I asked were female, but the male staff were very polite and nice, and the room was very clean and nice. I'm disappointed because the reviews have been good recently. I stayed with breakfast included, and the breakfast was delicious. I would like to eat dinner if I have a chance.

Zao Shiki No Hotel

We arrived at Mt Zao in the middle of Our Epic Six Week Trip To Japan, during which we stayed in nine different hotels. This room was amongst my favourites. The staff largely didn't speak English and were not helpful. We had a stand off at the restaurant as we didn't understand that we couldn't dine at there without having made a booking far in advance. After this was explained,  there was no apology or suggestions for alternative dining options. There are limited dining options in Zao. We ate at the Soup Curry place one night and a cute sushi joint another night. On the last night we ended up getting an ebiken bento box from the local L****ns as nothing was open. We did book breakfast each morning and that was fantastic. Lots of Japanese and Western options and it seemed like the food had all been prepared onsite. The hotel is very pretty, with a lovely view of the forest from the lobby. There is a common room with free coffee, tea and ice creams. People were pretty friendly in there. The hotel is the furthest from the 'town' but the closest to the ski lift and to the 'sulfurous' onsen. The ski lift is about 50 metres from the hotel and the ride up and down is spectacular. I thought the onsen was top notch. The sulfurous onsen outside has milky water that is supposed to be good for your complexion. It was fun having an onsen with snow all around. We stayed in the Western style room - it was spacious and well appointed. Our little lounge area had a beautiful view of pine trees and lots of snow. There was also a similar view from the luxurious bath tub (but I didn't use that tub as the onsen was so good.) The beds in our room were very hard. Our room also had a massage chair which I used for hours a time. It was a bit of a trek getting to Mt Zao. The hotel staff weren't very helpful with organising buses but they did drop us off at the bus stop early in the morning and we were picked up on our day of arrival. I know that the staff weren't friendly to us because of the language barrier, which is a shame because everyone should enjoy this venue. I would stay here again for sure. Next time we'll book the dinner set. It did smell amazing ! --

The service was very good. Although I knew beforehand that the hotel staff could call us to the Zao bus station to drive us to the hotel. The hotel staff picked me up with my name tag, Still moved. It also picked us up for free to other attractions in Zao. The hotel's catering service was great and the hot spring facilities were good. Although the hotel's equipment looks a bit old, it matches the theme of the snow scene and its own hot spring hotel, but it has a unique flavor. On the day I left, I missed some items in the room. I left Yamagata at that time, so I emailed the hotel, and the hotel quickly delivered my leftover items to my next hotel. thank you very much!

I liked the old fashioned design of the onsen. Before dinner it was extremely crowded so we waited 30 minutes and had the onsen public bath to ourselves. The outdoor onsen rotemburo were very refreshing. The room with beds was very spacious. And the snacks and fruit plate were very welcoming. The relaxation chair was special! No kids under 3 years old allowed and no restaurant on site (order half board) which might be a problem. With ski-in/ski-out facilities. We walked to the ropeway 5 minutes. There's a nice onsen foot-bath too. Dinner was plentiful, very attractive with Yonezawa brand beef. Also the Imo NI Potato Stew was very good.

We stayed for 2 nights with two couples from June 18. The room was a large room of 30 square meters of Japanese bed on the 3 floor, and there were 2 elevators, convenient, old and weak feet. Dinner was delicious for two days with a great kaiseki dish with a good appearance and a variety of ingredients. The hot springs were in the inner bath and the open air, respectively, with a milky white bath with a rich sulfur fragrance. I was able to use it in a cheap plan, but I want to take care of it again next time.

The only owner of the hotel is an old couple, and they are very nice people. The boss can speak a little English. The hotel is on a hillside, so it's best to call the boss to pick him up by car. It will be difficult to climb the hill by yourself with luggage. Dinner was at a nearby restaurant, and the owner drove us there. To soak in the hot spring, the boss drove you to the nearby Genchi Hot Spring, which is not in the hotel.

We went as a group of 5 to snowboard and the location was perfect, 7 min walk from chairlift 4, they also offer special deals for daily lift passes and nearby rental shop (Best Rental Shop) which was great! Fantastic onsen in the facilities open 24 hours every day (2 public and 3 private was available) was perfect for our aching bodies! The best part were the staff in particular a very cheery waiter who always delivers breakfast and dinner service with a smile! Food was delicious and showcased all the best seasonal local foods. While reception staff were not well rehe****d in english they tried their best to assist us as best as possible. They are slightly short staffed on front desk/in the shop but we were never really rushed for service and a bit of patience meant everyone is happy and you were eventually seen to! Our room was simple japanese style room with futons but very large for 5 people with nice views. We would absolutely come back here it was a very enjoyable stay!

An inn with a connection to poet Mokichi Saito. Waka poems written by the guests and locals are displayed, and there are *****s of paper and writing brushes in the room. The number of rooms is small, and meals can be served in private rooms. The furnishings and furnishings, and the tableware used for meals, etc., show a sense of commitment and taste. In particular, the cloudy, sulfur-scented hot springs while looking at the piled-up snow and the delicious, gentle-tasting dishes made with ingredients from Yamagata are pleasing to the eye and very satisfying. I was able to learn about the history and culture of Yamagata by receiving detailed answers to my questions about ingredients and other items. But the front desk allowed us to go to the room. Thank you very much. When we left, the front desk took the initiative to use the bus to reach the bus terminal. The room is quite large, but the decoration is a bit old, but overall it is good. Our dinner was Japanese banquet and it was very rich. I did n’t order breakfast so I do n’t know, this is a Japanese-style bed, you can have as many beds as you like, but I do n’t know if I will check you if you stay too much. I have n’t cleaned it for a long time, but I did n’t clean it when I checked in. There are also cups. There are 4 cups in the row above the refrigerator, which seem to contain a total of eight cups of water. In a wooden cabinet, there is no sterilization effect. I use The finished cup was put in directly the next day. I do n’t wear lipstick, but I will apply lip balm at night. The next day they put towels and bath towels to change water and cups, but in fact the cups just help you put them in the cabinet. There are my lip balm lip prints on the cup, water traces on the cup, dried water traces, and it feels dirty than the cup. I only use hot water to burn it. The front desk for men in their 60s is impatient. This hot spring cannot be used outdoor at all. The water is shallow. The boy next door is a connected pool and can see each other. Japanese people ca n’t wear clothes in the hot spring. The outdoor hot spring is really furnished and not good-looking. Indoors The female hot spring is OK, the glass is transparent, at least you can take a hot spring to see the snow, the price is more expensive than the Yuchi Seven Hot Springs, and the hot springs are not as good as there. There is also a small convenience store with a small amount of fruit, apples and oranges for sale.

Forest Inn Sangoro

Yamagata
|12.01km from city center
Friends booked us in at Sangoro so we could ski in / out... and it truly is ski in/out... not like places at the bottom of the hill where u can only ski in/out if there’s a decent amount of snow. Sangoro is at mid-mountain, so if the resort is open for the winter season, you can ski in / out of this hotel. The disadvantage of being at mid-mountain is that there is only Sangoro there and you can’t leave / get back there from The main village after 5pm. So all your evenings are spent at the hotel. It wasn’t a problem for us, but I think you’d get cabin fever if u stayed there too long. They have a reasonable dinner menu that is mostly Japanese but has a few western and vegetarian options (spaghetti with soy meat and margarita pizza). They have a soft drink machine and soup machine which are free for people staying there (all u can drink). There’s also a pool table, table tennis table, a few games and a massage chair u can use (the massage chair is quite good after a day on the slopes). The bathrooms are Japanese (shared) but you can only use them between 7-9am and 5-10pm... only showers can be used in the morning but they fill up the big hot baths in the evenings. The women’s bathroom is down on the lowest level, so you have to go down 2 or 3 flights of stairs to get there. Men’s bathroom is on the main floor, with the hotel rooms 1 and 2 floors above. There are no elevators, so you need to be ok with climbing the fairly steep stairs and carrying luggage up/down. They have a drying room on the lowest level for ski gear, but someone kept opening the window in the room so it was always very cold in there (no point putting your stuff in there to dry). One thing everyone in our group complained about was the beds and/or pillows... not comfortable at all! I had poor sleep as I had to keep rotating all night or my arm or leg would go numb. The people working at the hotel are really nice. Some of them speak better English than others... we didn’t have any language issues but we did have a couple of people in our group who speak good Japanese, which was helpful for anything complicated. To get to the hotel you have to catch the Chuo Ropeway up to mid-mountain and get the hotel to pick you up in their special car (on tracks to drive on the snow). If you need lift tickets it’s a little cheaper to purchase them from the hotel but you. I enjoyed my time at Sangoro (except the beds), but it’s not somewhere I’d stay for a really long time due to its remoteness (there are really good and not so good things about being isolated on the mountain).

A few days before the holiday of the sea day, I arrived at this inn to find a place to take Wanko in a hurry. When I was single, and I took my child, and the Zao Onsen ski area came many times in winter as the whole mountain genre map was in my head. I never came to summer, but the child also stood up and came to summer for the first time as a place where the couple could play. This inn is the first time. I imagine that I was so busy at the height of skiing, but now I am working hard with corporate efforts to make pets possible according to the age, and it is an old inn. But it was clean and there was no dust, such as corridors, stairs, and shelves in the room. The staff was also nice. It is full of privileges, such as two meals for 10000 yen per person, and the source of the source, and the three joint baths in the hot spring town are free and the Zao Onsen large open-air bath becomes discount, and it is full of privileges, and it is possible to stay with Wanko It was a super happy inn with Wanko. The next day, I released Wanko to the genre where there was no one, and I was able to solve the stress of Wanko spending in my house, and I had a good trip.

I usually stay at Zao International Hotel, but I couldn't make a reservation this time, so I tried to make this inn with a relatively high evaluation. As for Zao International Hotel, I have written a review many times in the past. In comparison with the hotel, I will write the impression of this inn. 1. Location It is in front of the bus terminal and is a convenient place to come by bus. It is also suitable for a joint bath. However, if you are skiing, you need to take a bus to the ropeway mountain foot station or walk through the hot spring town with a board. In this respect, it is located on a high level a little far from the hot spring town and is more convenient to Zao International Hotel, which is almost directly connected to the genre. 2. facilities It is a quite large inn, but it is a building with a year. However, the inside is clean. The front desk is on the first floor. From the entrance to the outside, you will get down another floor. Also, to go upstairs from the fourth floor, you need to change the elevator. It's a bit troublesome to often go out and out from the upper floor. Zao International Hotel also has multiple buildings, and the entrance and exit are quite walkable at 1 places, so both are the same in this respect. The rooms are renovated neatly and nothing is wrong. However, you can't enjoy the luxurious construction and view, such as Zao International Hotel Minami Kan. 3. Hot spring The large bath with open-air bath is not bad, but the facilities around the water are deteriorating a little. It is not possible to deteriorate rapidly due to the influence of hydrogen sulfide gas, but it seems to be better to put your hand in soon. The open-air bath is small. The bathroom facilities are not enemy to Zao International Hotel, including 4 rental baths. However, the use situation of hot springs was a little better than Zao International Hotel, which did not have any water from the source in the hot spring, and was pulling hot water using the natural slope. 4. Meals I think both inn tastes more than average. However, the tsuruya sukiyaki tare felt too little 々 sweet for us. Also, I was a little worried that I would not eat until I finished eating when I cooked. Zao International Hotel was better in these respects. 5. Customer service Everyone was polite and the front desk was also good. I wrote it again in the review of Zao International Hotel, but Zao International Hotel has a number of employees at the front desk who are in a terrible mine. The management, who left it alone, was really negligent, because they were just responding to the guests and they were slashing the overall hotel rating. It is an iron rule to stay comfortably at Zao International Hotel that does not approach the front desk as much as possible and checks carefully before paying. In this respect, it is a victory of vines. (It may be accurate that Zao International Hotel is too bad.)

When you think of Zao, you think of ski resorts, and when you think of ski resorts, you think of hot springs. By the way, Zao Onsen is expensive this time of year, so I decided to stay here because it's cheaper. The location is about 20 yen by car from the city, and since Yamagata is in the countryside, there aren't many cars, so it was very stress-free ^^. Oh, I'm not dissing you. So, Zao is completely empty at night, so this time I ate dinner outside and entered the hot springs early. I'm going to take a bath right away. The smell of sulfur is the best ^^ The smell is irresistible for hot spring lovers ^^ As an inn, I can't deny that it's old, but I guess it can't be helped since it's a place where snow accumulates. I went to Zao ^^

They will care about us and adapt to our needs. The accommodation equipment is a very traditional tatami room. The space for two people is very sufficient and spacious. The hot spring is even better. Although outside the main house, you have to shuttle through the cold wind, but after the bath, it can completely resist the sub-zero temperature. The climate is also very smooth and tender. Since this visit is for skiing, the hotel will take us to the ski resort every day, and there is also a drying room where we can borrow the rented ski equipment. The biggest advantage of Takamiya Forest Hotel is ski in & ski out, which is a good news for skiing friends. However, because the hotel is very historical, many of the equipment is old, including the bathroom door is a bit shabby and bulging, and there are spider webs found in the corner ~ natural hot springs have a history of 1900, which is really very long. There is a manager with a foreign face at the help desk. He can ask him questions. He is very enthusiastic and friendly. He can help check in and help to call a car to other places. He suggests many things. The most beautiful scenery on the trip is the enthusiastic friend! The shortcomings of equipment history can only be said to be flawless! Breakfast is basically Japanese breakfast, the western part only has some small meals and small ham and eggs. For dinner, you can choose different daily, including beef / mutton brush pot, beef sukiyaki, roast beef, salmon pot, basically you can choose yourself, every day is different!

Very friendly staffs, always able to solve our issues and requests. Good location, walking distance to Yamagata station and city streets, too bad most shops closed at 8pm. Delicious local breakfast with variety of food choices, definitely will visit again, good job☺️

We arrived in a few minutes from Yamagata Station. It is cheap though access is outstanding. It is convenient. The deadline for breakfast is 880 yen until 8 o'clock the night before. Breakfast is from 7:00 to 8:00 in the morning, the same 3 floor as the receptionist. The front desk is kind. After the stay, I received an email through the reservation site. I felt the business effort.

The location is located at the west exit of Yamagata Station and the station. Yamagata Station West exit is not many shops, and there is a vending machine in the hotel, but it is cheaper to buy it at the station. [1 floor arrangement] front desk diagonally right when the entrance is. The front desk is usually 2 name system? Breakfast venue in the back. elevator on the diagonal left. There is a sofa on the left, free coffee in the back (until 22), and a vending machine in the back. 【Room】 The bed was 2, the shelf made on the wall, the TV was placed on it, and the refrigerator was placed below. And there was a tea pack of green tea tea in the cup. ① The refrigerator was powered off at the time of entry. ② TV, but it seems to be initialized every time the power is turned off, and you can't see the TV immediately. The baggage rack is small. The outlet was not on the bed pillow, and it was on the wall of the bathroom and shelf (table). It's not good to use it.

The hotel is not far from the station. There is an elevator and the room was quite nice with a wonderful view over the city. We paid about 36€ a night which was a good price for what we got. The bathroom was small as in most hotels in this category but everything was clean and well maintained. Extra free toiletries can be picked up at the reception, who was always friendly and helpful. The room could be a bit bigger as with two bags / suitcases you have to move some furniture for storage ;-) The English skills of some receptionists could be improved. In general we had a pleasant stay at the hotel and would recommend it.
