0.92km from Holy TacoChicago Getaway Hostel has always been a place I look forward to going to when in Chicago. The staff and other people staying here is great to be around. Staff are always helpful and the mixing of cultures "feeds my soul" when I am here. I arrived during the Coronavirus-19 outbreak in the hope that I would be able to take care of some business at a Chicago Consultate. The Consulate closed the day I arrived so my stay was basically at the hostel. Breakfasts and the kitchen were unavailable consistent with medical recommendations -- which did not bother me with the supermarkets available nearby. Single rooms were available to all to maintain social distancing. WiFi was great to use (and it is always available free here). Coffee has been provided free as well. This has been a terrific place for me to relax and plan the next period in my life. No drama and a place to relax and focus on what is important in these unique times. Of special note -- Daniel the Operations Manager at the hostel has been extremely helpful. In short, I highly recommend this hostel. Thank you Chicago Getaway Hostel for great stays and this one which has been most memorable.
1.41km from Holy TacoI absolutely loved my two stays at Hotel Versey. The location could not be better considering downtown is close and the airport is a quick Uber or bus/subway ride away. The hotel is iconic in Boystown and offers all of the amenities you need to recharge, recoup, and get ready for your day. The wireless internet is fast and free. The rooms are perfectly plush with outlets to charge your electronics near your bed. I was absolutely pleased with the abundance of television stations as well, especially during the time when I just want to relax. The rooms are trendy with special touches. I can't explain it in words. It is very cool here. A huge plus is gym access next door at LA Fitness. It beats a small hotel gym. It was an absolutely amazing perk! The staff are really courteous and help you choose a room to your liking. Overall, I can't wait for my next stay when I am in Chicago. I work in Chicago about 10 times a year and Hotel Versey definitely got me hooked!
1.6km from Holy TacoAbsolutely wonderful rooms have everything you need from a room the lobby is cosy and welcoming with seating, fire and tourist leaflets and free te and coffee all day. reception staff are amazing Dan was brilliant at local knowledge and history of the area and hotel and gave us bus advice and eateries advice Juan antonio helped us with a carpark issue and booking us a taxi out the maintenance guy found my lost glasses case and was very chatty these three staff members made our first visit to chicago a very pleasant one. highly recommend the willows for its history, quirkiness and character but most of all its friendly staff. well done guys.
1.7km from Holy TacoIn December 2019, I was looking for an affordable, contemporary hotel in the heart of Chicago that could house 80+ guests for a long weekend come March 2020. I was immediately referred to the Hotel Lincoln, where both Miranda G and Eduardo N worked with me throughout the booking process to ensure all of our lodging needs were met. Whenever I had a concern about pricing, Miranda always had a reassuring answer ready! Whenever we needed to adjust room assignments or other logistical details, Eduardo was always eager to assist! The process of booking hotel accommodations for 80+ guests is an incredibly daunting task, but Miranda, Eduardo, and the entire Hotel Lincoln staff made this endeavor easy. Unfortunately, as a result of COVID-19, our group was forced to cancel our reservation. Miranda, Eduardo, and the Hotel Lincoln recognized the unique circumstances that caused our cancelation and were willing to work with me to appropriately adjust cancelation proceedings. The professionalism and compassion showed by Miranda and Eduardo during this unprecedented situation speaks to the extraordinary caliber of service provided by the entire Hotel Lincoln staff. While my group was sadly unable to stay at the Hotel Lincoln, I look forward to visiting in the future and would 100% endorse their services. Thank you again, Miranda, Eduardo, and the entire Hotel Lincoln staff!
1.7km from Holy TacoFrom the moment we pulled into the valet area until the moment we left, we were greeted by courteous and helpful staff members. The hotel room and common areas were very clean; and the breakfast was a perfect way to start our day.

2.04km from Holy TacoStayed here for three nights with my son while he looked at colleges. The location is great - right next to a CTA stop, so even on a freezing night in January, it was easy to get places. The neighborhood has lots of affordable places to eat and shop. It is a residential neighborhood as opposed to a touristy one. Our room faced a brick wall, but that meant no street noise. I liked that the room was a real suite with a door between the bedroom and living room. Too often places say they are a "suite," but it really just means there is a couch. I could get up earlier than my son and not bother him. And I love any hotel that provides robes. So great to have one to wear after taking a shower! The breakfast is basic - just coffee, juice, boxed cereal, toast - but enough to keep you going while you wait for your teen son to wake up (are you sensing a theme here?) Lots of places within a block or two to get a heartier breakfast, though. There are few amenities here. No business center, no place to use a computer or printer, no exercise room, no restaurant. But it is a very good basic hotel. Because the rooms are suites, there seemed to be a lot of rooms with a lot of people in them. When we arrived, there were several rooms on our hallway with their doors open and people running between them drinking wine and yelling to each other. I think the front desk said it was a bridal party. On the next two nights, there was a huge group of people in the lobby playing games and drinking beer. There is no way anyone else could have just hung out in the lobby. The staff did an excellent job at getting people to keep the sound down and get out of other guests' way, but still, a lot of big groups, so maybe not the best hotel if you want a sedate atmosphere. I imagine it is a lot quieter if you stay mid-week. I was supposed to stay at this hotel again in March, but had to cancel at the last minute because my event was cancelled the night before due to the growing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although I had passed the cancellation deadline, the staff happily gave me a refund. As soon as this lockdown ends, I hope to get to Chicago and stay in this hotel again!
2.2km from Holy TacoI rate this hotel as a three star but know that it has very good parts and not so good. Let’s start with the pros: Clean, modern, great fitness center (this is atop an athletic club). Both breakfast and lunch menus and food were good, healthy options. Bar has a sufficient choice for everyone. It was wintertime so we didn’t use the outdoor pool, but I suspect it is fun. While not in a tourist area, it is in a good location if you need to stop by a store to pick up something you need or forgot. Staff were friendly without exception. Rooms have ample space and everything you need. The rate is reasonable too, even with the $25 daily resort fee. In room coffee was good too and there is a small refrigerator. The cons: not a place for rest or quiet. The beds are very firm, too firm really to feel comfortable. I found myself tossing around quite a bit. On our first night, we awoke at 3 am hearing the workout room below. Someone was really jamming and they no doubt had a good session. It was loud enough that I could recognize each set. I mentioned it to management the next morning and it didn’t happen again. The gym is closed until 5 am so it was odd. Other reviews note this and I know that we were not dreaming. You can hear a lot of noise between rooms as there isn’t much acoustic dampening, but our neighbors were quiet once they got settled. Our friends stayed on the 5th floor, one floor up from us. They didn’t have the noise problem. Maybe you want to ask for a room on floor 5.
2.34km from Holy TacoThis B&B was perfect for our intimate wedding! We rented out the entire house for our family to stay at for the weekend and they LOVED IT! The location is perfect (about 7 minute walk to Damen blue line stop) and within walking distance of the wicker park businesses/bars. Also, breakfast served each morning was great and they even prepared gluten free food for one of our guests. Laura (owner) is such a great owner and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding weekend went smoothly. Be sure to stay here if you’re looking for a Chicago neighborhood vibe!!
2.4km from Holy TacoAs a Chicago local, I’ve recently set off on a journey, with COVID in mind, to explore this beautiful city and find the true gems. In that journey, and thanks to the recommendation of a friend, I stumbled upon The Robey. Let me tell you, after this horribly stressful week of mine– The Robey was like a breath of fresh air. From the two phone calls I had with the hotel, with Sydney and Michael, the customer service was astounding. They were knowledgable, eager to fulfill my requests, and incredibly kind. Starting on the ground floor, there’s the Robey Cafe which is adjacent to the lobby and incredibly beautiful. The front desk staff, Celia, specifically, were super sweet and efficient and made sure I understood and could take advantage of every amenity my room rate included. Contrary to other reviews, I thoroughly enjoyed the customer service I received. On the second floor, there is a gorgeous mid-century modern workspace with tons of space to set up shop and hang out, while masked-up and socially distant, of course. I stayed on the 8th floor, in one of the King suites with a tub. The room itself was one of the nicer rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Truly incredible. And the view? was STUNNING. Watching the sunset with a glass of champagne was truly the pinnacle of my stay. In the bathroom, which was absolutely beautiful, they included a bathtub tray so that I could watch read a book while taking a bubble bath! While I personally did not check out the rooftop or the lounge, I am sure they were just as incredible. In short, I had an incredibly relaxing night and will be returning with more business, both for myself and my family/friends. The Robey is officially the go-to hotel.

2.54km from Holy TacoMy wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and everything was perfect. We've asked for an upper floor an so they gave us a great room with city view on the top floor. When we arrived at about 5pm, the room was not ready yet but in just a few minute they gave it to us. The hotel is close to the "L" to the town center and from O'Hare airport. Really a great experience, for sure I'll come back. Just a couple of really minor issue. There's no TV in the room and the "reception" is inside the spa and is open at the store opening times. Once you know that, it's all right, you know what to expect.
2.59km from Holy TacoSecond time at this hotel, always a solid choice. Reservation easy and quick. Arrived and checked in straight away and up to room. Hotel is in a great neighborhood full of restaurants, bars and shops. Love this area. Easy to get downtown (easy walk to the Red Line, or to LSD and the express bus). Room was large and well laid out with comfortable bed, desk and large TV on a cabinet. Closet contained needed iron, board and safe. Bathroom was fine with great towels and amenities. While there was good hot water, water pressure could have been better. Included breakfast included good selection of hot and cold items. Only seating area was lobby area, so be aware of that. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. Check out was quick and easy. That said, there were some areas of improvement. TV worked for about 10 minutes, then never worked again over the 3 day stay. It was pixelating the entire time, no picture nor sound. Internet was extremely slow and spotty. I kept having to reconnect and resign in repeatedly which made any work impossible. Room was near the front of the hotel on the second floor (just over the lobby and check in desk actually) so near the elevator. Hallway noise including elevator beeping was heard all day/night. All in all a good stay and would consider the property next time in Chicago due to location and comfort only. Hope they can work on the other minor challenges.
Hotels Near Holy Taco In Chicago Review
There is a very popular restaurant for breakfast on the first floor of the hotel. The taste is good. You can watch the night view of Chicago on the top floor and take photos. It feels good to stay. I have stayed twice and walked to the surrounding attractions. Trump Hotel across the river
Let me start by saying that I was so looking forward to our stay at the Swissotel Chicago - for a very special occasion. And it was off to a great start when the bell man greeted us and escorted us to the front desk. But that was the end of our pleasant experience with Swissotel, even though I had called in advance to let them know this was a special occasion. We were greeted at the front desk by a cold and unwelcoming individual named Nicole Thompson. She was horribly rude and unfriendly. When I inquired about the bill because I was surprised it was more than anticipated from my online reservation, she seemed bothered with my questions and made me feel like I was being problematic, instead of just trying to get clarification. We left the front desk feeling very unwelcome and it left a bad taste in our mouths, but I wasn't going to let it damper the day and instead, looked forward to our pre-booked city view room... instead, Ms. Thompson put us in a room on the 4th floor directly in front of the elevator, which is neither a river view or a city view, but a concrete view of a roof of a building next door - and in the distance, a little sliver of the lake. Even thinking about it now upsets me so much. So we were left with a room without a city view, paying more than I expected, and didn't get the $10 per day credit for not using housekeeping service. I am so disappointed with my stay at the Swissotel and will never recommend it to anyone.
The hotel was good and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was great and ideal for exploring the city. John in particular on the front desk was really helpful and friendly throughout our stay. My only real criticism was that the hotel has a long was to go in terms of sustainability. In our rooms the coffee cups were disposable and even at breakfast the plates, cups and cutlery were all disposable. This is really unnecessary. It would be absolutely be possible to make these all things that can be washed and reused. In addition we were told that if we were happy to reuse our towels we just had to hang them up. Despite doing this, they were replaced every day, We would have been happy to use the towels to be more enviornmentally friendly but weren't given the option.
I recently visited The Blackstone for my second stay. Since I was alone this time, it allowed me the chance to focus on the quality of my stay in itself. During such a strange time as the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, and searching for a new home in the Chicago area, comfort and solace is hard won. I was able to have it, in part, because of the beauty of the hotel as my lodging. The rooms at the Blackstone are comfortable and even luxurious. If you can, try to stay in one of the rooms that allows a view of the Lake. The sunrise from the hotel is magical and truly relaxing. The amenities of the hotel are also fabulous. Restaurants, shops, Navy Pier, museums, Grant Park, Millennium Park, and other activities are all comfortably walkable from here. The Blackstone is artsy and gorgeously whispers its significant Chicago history to its guests. The staff in the hotel are its best secret, though. At each service point, the Blackstone staff was professional, helpful, friendly...even to the point of conversation about the local scene. In particular, I would like to thank Lilly for her help on the day I checked in, times I came to the desk for snacks and information, and even on the day I checked out. Her work is an asset to the hotel and its brand. Thank you for a great stay!
If you are staying to visit someone in Rush hospital, this is the place to stay. There is a parking garage 50 feet from the hotel with overnight rates cheaper than the hospital hourly rates. I walked two blocks to the hospital through a good neighborhood with no issues. They also had a shuttle if the walk is too much or weather doesn't permit.
