|1.25km from city centerThe room is spacious. I felt that a hotel that is comfortable and serviced is important because tourism is exhausted for three days.

|6.23km from city centerstaff amazing! breakfast amazing! Cocktails amazing! Gardens amazing! However the rooms completely disappointing! I am not sure how this hotel can be considering luxury? Its interior is worn and requires updating . We stayed in the Forrest suite room 120. Nothing like the photos . The mattress sunk inwards when we slept, my legs were higher than by body when laying down, that’s how bad the mattress was . The roll out bed which I was told had a proper matress sunk inwards. PowerPoints did not work . Our electric towel rail, the cord was taped with duck tape. The sofa and arm chairs was so old and worn , with chipping timber frames’ skiriting boards and paint was chipping. Lighting was so dim No air conditioning and it was a 30 degree weekend . I understand the website states rooms would not have the same view, but a view of bush and shrubs is not a garden view. The shutters in the room is old and some were broken The hall ways are so worn and floor boards creaked Room service menu is on an A4 paper with 8 selection of meals Spa bath tub which was also a shower was slippery to stand on Couldn’t order drinks or food at the pool This place is falling apart, thankfully friendly staff and beautiful garden (which isn’t as big as the photos) Disappointed

|1.06km from city centerI am a planning fool, that way you guard against disappointment and sleeping in the car overnight. My husband however is non planner, with a how bad can it be, how crowded will it get mid week, perspective. Thanks to this take on the world we ended up at Dormie Lodge because it was getting dark and there was an old sign which pointed us there. This place is interesting, with a degree of charm and a need for a major overhaul. My guess is it’s late 20s/ v early 30s.It is rundown but functioning. and in places, quite nice. Go to Peppers if you want a sexy, luxury weekend, not here. This is as one reviewer writes, for golfing enthusiasts. We had a large room with 2 beds, one queen, one single, not good quality. The bathroom was a nasty little 1970s shoe in which was in need of bleach. Note it was stained not dirty. The hotel was v clean. There was the smallest, tiniest TV which I have seen since the 1970s. The room overlooked the car park which in the morning had all the noise of golf carts and a fine view of workmen spitting into the bushes. The room was glacial and this was in February, however the night manager brought us 2 little fan heaters as heating was off and that was fine. This all set us back $A175 which astounded me. So, that’s the bad stuff. The good stuff was the lounge. Nicely done with faux period leather chairs. But what I liked best was the 1970s extension where the the dining room and bar were housed. One side was packed out with golfers, the other virtually empty. We went there and drank $8 wine and watched the sun set over the gardens and golf links. What I also liked was the inside staff. Everyone of them was exceptionally nice and unfailingly helpful. We didn’t eat there. Food was about $40 a main course. It did look v nice. Be aware that upstairs has no lift and the stairs are quite steep. Renovations are ongoing but regrettably they are not restorations of beautiful period features. The instead involve lots of white paint and plastic bathroom suites.

|0.29km from city centerWe arrived late afternoon in Bowral and secured the last room available. Ben and the staff were great, and the room was modern, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and bright with a double shower, there was a Nespresso machine and pods, NetFlix and Stan, and the bed was perfect. Located in the centre of town we were able to walk to everything and could leave the car parked. We were astounded by the beauty of the town and thrilled that it has retained its original vibe. Dinner at the hotel was really good and well-priced, and if you’re looking for coffee try “Early Birds” on the Main Street at the other end of town - it’s brilliant!

|0.17km from city centerLocal scuttlebutt was saying that ”Ben” the former executive chef from Bendooley was now heading up the kitchen at this iconic local pub. And the great news was, that it was a fact! The newly installed open kitchen and a real pro who's not afraid to experiment has created a great combination for diners. It was a full step up from previous experiences there and the food looked fresh and amazing with large portions as you would expect in a pub, as well as reasonably priced. I had the Chicken Schnitzel which is the ultimate test of pub fare and believe me it didn't disappoint on bit. Beautifully cooked and balanced off with a generous serving of big chips and very yummy coleslaw. I also ordered a side dish of wood fired pumpkin and chip-peas, absolutely delicious and worth the extra. My wife had the Crab Linguine, and it it looked amazing and supper fresh. She was over the moon and the best version she believes is currently being done in the region. This will become a signature dish as it was at his last restaurant. The services by the friendly staff.was warm and casual but efficient and you could tell they enjoyed working at this venue and proud of the new changes and the great food. We look forward to the other new changes in the decor and them nights that is coming soon as well as coming back regularly to get our fix.

Sutton Forest
|2.22km from city centerWe loved the beautiful old manor house and its gardens. Although it was a wet and cold January, the place’s charm made up for the weather. We enjoyed nice, relaxing, strolls around the gardens. Watching the rabbits lording over the gardens and spotting the odd kangaroo around the golf course was delightful. The manor itself was gorgeous, with comfortable areas to sit by the fire, looking out at the gardens. The Garden Wing Deluxe room was comfortable and very clean. The beds were just right. The only negative was the pillows offered - they were too soft and too hard, no happy medium. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good service at the bar and restaurant. Peppers is located close to surrounding areas like Bowral, Moss Vale, Mittagong, Exeter, Berrima, Burradoo and Bundanoon. Great to go exploring the attractions and unique shops these places had to offer. There were also some good places around to eat. Will definitely come back, to enjoy it in better weather.

|0.93km from city centerCabin was spotlessly clean and had great facilities. Surprised that there were plenty of extras like tea/coffee biscuits, cleansing products just like expensive accommodation sites. Travelled with Czech friends who do a lot of travelling and they also thought it was excellent value. Only regret was our stay wasn't long enough! Plenty to see and do in the area and we filled each day. There's more to go back for though and we'll choose to stay there again when we do.

|1.42km from city centerFirstly, no phone in our room (for contact with reception). I had to call from my mobile and after asking, they were going to send a phone up to us - it never arrived. I asked if there was any room service, to be told no! I noticed there were dirty plates of food left outside doorways in the corridor - they were there for the whole of our stay - 2 days - complete with flies. Upon checkin, we agreed that we didnt need housekeeping for our 2 day stay but were informed that we would get fresh towels - these never turned up. The Bar fridge is ridiculously small. Told there was a mini bar - but no there wasnt. The floors in our room clearly had not been vacuumed, with bits of rubbish and crumbs still there. After paying over $700 for two nights, we were certainly left wondering about value for money. We were there for our son's wedding so were very excited to spend time with family. Unfortunately we left feeling very, very disappointed with the accommodation.
