I stayed there beginning of May and was really happy to have come across this charming place. Rooms was comfortable, had character, well appointed bathroom. Breakfast was very good? surroumdings were really nice and peaceful with olive orchard, huge rosemary bushes, bay leaves trees, roses... all very well kept. Regarding dinner options, they have a 30-eur option which in my opinion.is a bit pricy for what they offer (and comparing to Cortona restaurant prices). We had a bottle of Cortona Syrah and we enjoyed the evening. They should have an a la carte option, even with 3-4 options but it would be much better than the 4course menu they offer now. Anyway, we hope to come back in summer and enjoy their pool too. Breakfast and reception staff were all very nice. Greeting to the Serbian guy at front desk, he attended us and was very polite and friendly. The man serving at the restaurant could be a bit less stiff and show some friendliness... he gave us the feeling we were troubling him when asked to change cutlery or to fix the wobbling table.

This is a beautiful resort very close to Cortana and an easy drive to Siena. It has a good restaurant with a beautiful ambience. The spa services are just okay based on my experience but perfectly adequate. What makes this place a five star in my opinion is the staff. We were three couples traveling together and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to ensure our comfort. I cannot say enough about the staff from the diningroom, the concierge staff and the room staff. Anytime we asked for something, even if it was not standard, they went out of their way to try to make it happen. Particularly in these times with resorts and hotels being short staffed, you don’t get that even in 5 star hotels these days. We stayed in the junior suites which were roomy, comfortable and well appointed. It’s a perfect getaway for 2-3 days. One note of caution, if you are coming from Florence, call the desk for directions. Google map sent us on a hair-raising goat track route. LOL. We finally got there though and were we glad to be there as we had a wonderful time. Be sure to try their other restaurant in the valley. The host Stefano is a very generous host and the food is wonderful Tuscan country food.

Our group arrived and could not believe the knock out view from our balconies. If you have a fear of heights, you may wish a room on the other side but otherwise...We were signed up for an enhanced Continental breakfast and it really was enhanced with scrambled eggs, an espresso machine and tons of sweet buns, fresh fruit, juice, meats, cheese etc etc. There is a small gym just off the breakfast room but we had no chance to try it as only here for two nights. We loved the hotel and it is near everything, shopping, cafes, restaurants. Two notes of caution that are not part of the hotel are 1. There is an attractive looking patio in front of the hotel and we assumed (wrongly) that it was part of the hotel. Avoid! We were travel weary and longing to sit down and have a glass of wine. An officious waiter said not allowed unless we order full meal. There were tons of empty tables which should have been a warning sign. While the food in Italy is generally excellent it is still possible to get a bad meal. This was our night. Our party of four had one good meal, two so-so and one inedible. We thought we would make up for it the next night. Tip #2 Most good quality restaurants are closed on Wednesday which was our 2nd day. We were part of a group of 57 so perhaps overwhelmed the ones that were open. Otherwise our visit to Cortona wqas very enjoyable.

BEST STAY EVER!!! Every staff member was incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms, dining facilities, and grounds are gorgeous. The location is perfect-close to Cortona and other small towns, and close enough for day trips to e.g. Montalcino. The food is incredible too! We ate at the restaurant for dinner and it was so good we ended up eating there again another night! The breakfast is really good and hearty. The patio is beautiful to eat meals on, as is the inside dining room. We sat on the outdoor couches and watched the sunset every night. It is a delightful place and we can’t wait to return one day. We would highly recommend to anyone.
