With Rome in lockdown, I didn’t see any point in staying in the historic centre for the two nights that I had intended to spend in the city. Instead, under the circumstances, I opted for a hotel close to the airport. The hotel has an efficient shuttle service which will whisk you off from the airport in less than ten minutes, although it does run to a set schedule: AM from hotel to airport every 30 minutes, PM from airport to hotel every 45 minutes. It is not free of charge, they add 6 euros each way to your room bill. Outside the scheduled departures, they offer a more expensive private shuttle option (note that taxis at the airport may be unwilling to take you to Fiumicino town as they expect to get the 48 euro set fee for Rome). I was received by the efficient but not very friendly receptionist and assigned a standard room on the 4th floor. My hotels.com booking guaranteed me an upgrade benefit, providing there is availability of course, and as the hotel was practically empty during my stay, I enquired about this. On enquiring, my standard room was mysteriously transformed to an ”upgrade” somehow, even though the room number stayed the same. Go figure. Overall, the room felt unremarkable but adequate. It was clean and tidy, and reflected the four stars that the hotel has been awarded. It was not large, but not the size of a closet, either. It came with two single beds pushed together, an armchair and a desk. There was a safe and a minibar, although I would have expected a complimentary bottle of water, as this can usually be expected at airport hotels. Slippers were provided as well. The one thing that bothered me was the overuse of room fragrance. The balcony offered a river view of the rundown port area. The bathroom came with a bathtub, but, curiously, there was only a handheld shower so if you wanted to take a bath, you had to use the showerhead to fill the bathtub. It filled up surprisingly quickly, though. The water was warm enough but not hot. Amenities included soap, shampoo and body lotion. Breakfast, included in the room rate, was served on the top floor. The selection was a bit meagre but included two hot items, namely scrambled eggs and bacon. No cheeses or cold cuts were available, but there was yoghurt, some fresh fruit as well as cakes and cereals. The whole of Italy being in lockdown mode over Christmas 2020, with all restaurants closed, I was happy that the hotel restaurant was allowed to serve guests lunch and dinner, and was kept open. I had dinner twice, and quite enjoyed the food and service. The waiters were friendly, the food was tasty and came in large portions, and the prices were moderate. I’m happy to say the restaurant exceeded my expectations. There is a small swimming pool on the roof, which I’m sure is popular during summer. The surrounding area was a letdown. It’s partly a rundown port district, partly a quiet suburb, and there are no points of interest nearby. The beach south of the rive

We stayed here overnight in Fiumicino to catch a flight out of Rome the next day. The hotel is very close to the airport. You can get from the hotel to the Rome airport by car arranged by the hotel. The hotel is close to the main street in Fiumicino, right by the fishing boats on River Tiber. There are many restaurants close by. Décor of the lobby and hallway was tasteful and had a luxurious feel. Staff was friendly, though the reception desk was not staffed at all times. The room was nicely furnished. Breakfast was very nice and had everything we wanted and more. The shuttle back to FCO cost 16 euro. The ride from the airport should have cost 25 euro but we caught a taxi at the airport and had to pay 35 euro. I am not sure if we got ripped off by the taxi or if this is a regular price. I messaged the hotel the day before to check on the ride situation but did not hear anything back.

We used a private car to get us to the hotel, arranged by them & was charged €25 for the trip from the airport. Return to the airport next day was €15. Preferred this rather than waiting for shuttle. The hotel itself was well maintained but I wouldn’t call it a boutique hotel. It’s design is old fashioned Italian rather than modern. However it was beautifully maintained & very clean. Our room was spacious & had OK air con. We managed a sleep but it could have been cooler. Only 1 pillow per person which seems the norm in Italy. Bathroom was big enough but the shower cubicle was small. The shower head was broken so we had to hold the shower to use it. Not great but too late to get someone as we were only there for 1 night. Breakfast was just ok. Decent coffee & a croissant. Bread to toast but other pastries etc were in wrappers which I don’t like. No fruit salad but fresh fruit instead. Staff were very nice. Fuimicino was ok for a port location. The restaurants by the canal were good & close to the hotel. We had booked through Expedia & had €15 Comp credit for f&b but there was no f&b to spend it on. No bar & no food outwith breakfast.

The only reasons to stay at the Academy Hotel are that it's (1) close to Leonardo Da Vinci airport (barely 4 km away), and (2) cheap -- wonderfully inexpensive. Oh, I guess it's also very convenient if you want to explore Ostia Antica or the Port of Trajan archaelogical zone, which are very close at hand, but I don't have the impression that's what's bringing guests here. Most people come here for a one-night stay to be close to the airport for a morning flight. I was actually here for two nights, as cascading coronavirus cancellations eliminated one onward booking after another. The multinational staff -- depending on the time of day, either Italian, Spanish, or West African -- was unfailingly friendly and helpful. There are good public transportation connections between Fiumicino town (the stoop is a 4-minute walk from Academy Hotel) and the airport and onward to Rome (one stop near the Vatican, on the west side of the historic center, and the final stop at Termini railway station on the east side). The rooms are modest in size, adequately appointed, with decent Wi-Fi connections. In the evenings I preferred to take my laptop to the little breakfast room, where I could feel less claustrophobic and spread my papers around. Oh -- I said cheap. Does $39 a night not seem like a bargain? I thought so. Hence my rating of very good: the value for money here is excellent, even if the accommodations otherwise are decent but basic.

So we stayed one night because we had to catch a flight to the airport the next day. I picked this hotel because of my previous stay’s over the years . This time we were a little annoyed so here’s the review. The bad is ,the bed was extremely uncomfortable, even though there was an air fan in the bathroom it smelled like cigarette smoke was blowing in , the lighting is very dim and hard to figure out , there was no info sheet in the room to see how to even call the front desk so I could find out why the WiFi wasn’t working. I had to go down to ask the front desk person how to call them . He said press nine . If there was an emergency who or what do I call ? And last , be aware that “ breakfast “ is only coffee and maybe a piece of bread and extra . No more buffet that was included, 7 euros per person for that and not mentioned on their website, also shuttle is now 16 euros per person, not mentioned on website and a rip-off. Good thing is the hotel didn’t seem like it needed guards in the lobby .

I spent 3 nights in the area and had a great time. The restarant 50m away, Pisicchio, that is a kind of sister-business, has excellent food. I ate their pasta with sea food two evenings in a row... convenient for the airport and for all main attractions out of the beaten central Rome spots. Spacious, modern, well kept rooms, good internet, nice and spacious balconies with proper furniture for two. The only reason they do not get 5 stars from me is that there is nothing salty for breakfast. Some fresh bread and any of the many marvellous cheese or cold cuts Italy has in profusion would do the trick. But I had a very early flight and they made sure to leave me a nice (though sweet) take-away breakfast pack.

1. There is a shuttle bus to the town center at the 24th pillar of the airport, then get off and go in the direction of the yard where the speedboat is placed, turn left, about 300 meters and then turn left, there is a sign on the side of the road. The No. 24 pillar is just an area without obvious signs. Remember to ask airport personnel. 2. The locals were enthusiastic and told me how to get there, but they were wrong, thank them very much. 3. Hotel health is ok, just staying one night for a flight connection, it is still ok. Even if the requirements are high. 4. The hotel has a pick-up service. The airport drop-off service I want is 6 Euros. Please remind everyone to have an electronic receipt. The same receipt as the city tax of 3 Euros. Although I gave me a ticket, I did not give an electronic receipt at that time The hotel almost relied on the account. Fortunately, I still have time to remember the video, and insisted that they investigate the video before finally saying that it was their fault. Service points can only be given one point. If this is not pleasant, you can still give more than three points, remember 5. The network is still okay, and you can park

I stayed at this hotel for the last night at the end of the trip to Italy, because it is relatively close to the airport and cost-effective. The standard room is set. The room can't be said to be large, but it can fit three boxes, which is enough. The bed is not big, but it seems that the Italian single beds are very small. Maybe they want a double bed to be more comfortable. Newly built in 2018, the facilities are very new and clean, and it feels a bit like ibis in style. The rooms are fully equipped with TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, safe, and no kettle is the usual style of Italian hotels. Although it is called B&B, the room rate does not include breakfast. Breakfast is 7.4 euros per person, which is not expensive. We didn't have time to eat. We can't comment on whether it is rich or not, but we have read the booking and said it was not bad. However, in Italy, it is a continental breakfast, mainly cold cuts, and there is still a gap with the English breakfast. I think most Chinese people are not used to it. The hotel is in a good location. Behind it is a big shopping mall with discounted products such as Zara, H&M, kiko, JD sports, etc. There is also a big supermarket, like the big tesco in the UK, where things are quite cheap. It can be used as a place to buy some small souvenirs before returning home. The mall is open until 10 in the evening, and there are some restaurants in it. I wonder if I should have some pizza before I leave. Haha, I think it's fun to weigh and sell pizza like pancakes. The following is the part of complaints. First of all, it’s a lot of twists and turns from the airport to the hotel. I saw that there is a pick-up and drop-off in the booking. It needs to be reserved in advance, 4 euros per person, so I called at noon in advance. At that time, I said that there is a car park 3 from T3. Find their car to pick you up, no need to make an appointment in advance. Then I didn’t find it when I got there. I thought about the four people taking a taxi. The two rows of taxis near the exit seemed to be only sent to the city. If you don’t send them to the nearest one, you have to go to the row a little earlier, the Italian woman in the past. After spending a long time with other car owners, just tell us how far it is. It costs 15 Euros per person, which is 60 Euros per car. Oh my god, could it be that when we are all **, uber obviously only costs 20-30 euros, don’t you think we don’t have a google map? ! Then I was very angry, so I made a train. That's right, the train can be reached by one station. I also watched in advance. The train happened to go to the entrance of the hotel and cross the sky bridge. It only costs 10 euros per person. Some people may think that the train station is so pitted, but there are pits everywhere in Italy. When I went to the supermarket that night, I bought three pieces of perfumed soap and wanted to come back as a gift, and then I would habitually read the list after I checked out, and I saw the problem. The buddy at the checkout cost a piece of soap*3, and he swept the two pieces of soap, and then I didn’t expect to be discovered by me, so he went to the general counter and checked everything with the person in charge, and refunded Gave me the money. I have been studying in the UK before, so I can use English very smoothly with them, don’t be timid, don’t be afraid of trouble, the amount of money is not big, but I think it’s not right to be so cheating. Speaking of the hotel, the front desk had a good attitude, and told them that they couldn't find a car at the hotel. They said that it is difficult to find a car without a map, alas. But it is still possible to order the car to be delivered the next day. Note that the room rate does not include city tax, here is 3 euros per person, and Rome city center railway station is 4 euros per person. I don’t know if I can add an extra bed, but it will probably be charged extra. It should be suitable for children, the room is not very noisy. There is parking lot.

The hotel is very close to the airport. The airport can take the free airport shuttle for the past 15 minutes. Note that it is separate from the parking shuttle. There is a bus every 15 minutes. T1 and T3 come out. You can find the airport shuttle along the free shuttle to hotel sign. The pillar says "Hilton Garden Inn", which is very easy to find. It usually runs from 5am to 1am. about. The hotel also has breakfast, fruit, bacon and intestines ... all delicious, you can take the free shuttle bus to the airport after breakfast. It's perfect for those who get up early to catch a plane. The front desk staff was smiling and very welcoming.
