Excellently positioned structure, overlooking the beautiful Placa Reial, one step away from La Rambla. Very suitable for those looking for evening and night life in Barcelona, a little less for those traveling with their families with children, but still not recommended. The construction is not modern, but very well kept; well cleaning and organization. Welcoming staff and satisfactory breakfast.

Awesome experience, the location is very good in the downtown area. The room was clean and affordable. The staff is very enthusiastic, responsive, and will recommend nearby places to eat and have fun. When you check in, you can tell me that if you are not satisfied, you can find them to help solve them. Everything is perfect. I will choose this one next time I come to Barcelona!

My friend and I stayed here on the 11th Nov for 3 nights and were very pleasantly surprised . The location is absolutely perfect, right on la Rambla and behind the hotel is the most beautiful square with a fountain and restaurants around it. Wonderful for coffee or drinks . Ok, the hotel may have seen grander times but our beds were very comfortable, our en-suite was lovely and the breakfast was more than enough, I have to mention the staff, they were super friendly and couldn’t do enough. They recommended a super place for us to eat. I will certainly use this hotel when I visit this fantastic city.

Go ahead before the Christmas holiday, otherwise it is estimated that the price will double everywhere. No breakfast, next to the market to eat breakfast, choose a lot. The hotel is a bit old, but the location is very good, the room does not know if it is close to the beach, a little bug, the bathroom is OK, but the room is very poorly sounded, has given the room inside, the room next to the room is always a student or something In the middle of the night, I was very noisy and troubled. I don’t know if I would argue for a night by the roadside. Overall, the hotel front desk service is very good.

I won’t go into detail about the disgusting side of this Hotel as I am more concerned about the danger. Read other reviews for more info on that. Our room was so stuffy it was hard to breathe and there was an awful smell of chemicals in the bathroom, very overpowering in a room with no windows. However behind patio doors which were in the room was what looked like an empty lift shaft. It’s not actually a lift shaft but that’s the only way I can describe it. Now we were in room 704 on the 7th floor so you can imagine the drop. The door had no lock, just a catch that a child could easily open. Also absolutely no warning signs that there was a drop to your death behind those doors. There were bars which were very low and also had a gap at the bottom big enough for a toddler to slip through. I am totally shocked that this hotel is allowed to sell this room. Imagine waking at night for a wee, in an unfamiliar room, maybe after a few beverages and sliding this door open and falling to your death. It’s a disaster waiting to happen if it hasn’t already! I dread to think of youngsters staying here and messing about, a bit drunk! It really is very dangerous. We complained and the miserable rude receptionist said “that’s the room you booked”. I said “no I did not Book a room with a lift shaft in it.” She refused to give us a refund and said that the hotel was full and the only other room we could have was an upgrade which we would have to pay €60 for.We did not want to pay any extra to stay in this awful place. She gave us another option which was to sleep there and in the morning speak to the manager. There was no way I was going to sleep in that death trap. I also asked if She could call the manager so I could speak to him but she said that she couldn’t do that.We went upstairs packed our bags and left. The hotel is booked through booking.com who also refused to give us a refund. So we had to pay out and book another hotel which we are not happy about but at least it was a nice hotel. The next day I returned Around 2 pm and asked to see the manager. It was the same miserable receptionist and she dabbled on her switchboard Then said the manager has already left and she won’t be in until the next day. So the manager who was a “he” is now a “she”. I left my phone number and asked for the manager to call me to discuss the problem, however to this day I have still heard nothing. Please do not stay here and please do not let your teenage children or young adults or anyone for that matter ever ever stay at this place. Take a look at the photos, how low the bars are and how big the gap at the bottom. Also no lock on the door just a catch.

Overall: I had a very pleasant experience with this hostel. It was clean, the room was spacious, but most importantly - its location is definitely top notch. Me and my girlfriend stayed there for 3 nights in January and payed 136 euro for a triple room. Location: Perfect. It's right next to the vibrant and lively promenade of Las Ramblas, which could be your starting point for you journey through the city sights. It's a stone's throw from the Gothic quarter, the La Boqueria market, Plaça Reial, Plaça de Catalunya etc. The hostel is within walking distance of 2 metro stations - Liceu and Drassanes, both on L3 line with which you can get very easily to Park Guell, just ride to Lesseps or Valcarca station (like I did) and then you have no more than 5 minutes walking. Hostal MiMi is right next to Palau Guell and is also near the Columbus statue and L'Aquarium. Staff: There's 24-hour Front desk. We got our key and didn't need anything else from the receptionist except an additional heater, since we were in January and the room was a bit cold for my girlfriend's taste. We were given it straightaway by the helpful staff and everything was good. When we left the room, all we had to do was to put the room key in a post box and that was it. The less time I have to spend communicating to the staff, the better. Thus, I have more time to spend sightseeing and enjoying my trip. At the reception you can find discount cards for Casa Mila and Casa Batlló (2 euro discount for the former, and 3 euro for the latter). Room Although I was with my girlfriend, we rented triple room, since it was the same price as the double one, but I presumed it'll be a bit more spacious. As you can see from the pictures, it's a nice, clean, bare-bones room with private bathroom (it's very hard to find a place to stay in Barcelona that has private bathroom and not having to spend a fortune booking it) and a large queen's bed. The room can indeed be noisy sometimes, since Las Ramblas gets quite busy at night, but I guess it also depends in which room you are staying (you can find earplugs in the room). Ours was noisy only on the second night of our stay. You walk in the bathroom through a sliding door. The bathroom itself was a bit small and I was annoyed that there was no shower parking bracket and I had to hold the hand shower above my head all the time. The hot water also ran out a bit fast. The room had WiFi and it was pretty fast. Amenities: There was a kitchen with fridge and microwave, but we didn’t use them at all. The hostal also has an old small elevator that you can use since it's on the 2nd/3rd floor (not quite sure which floor actually). Conclusion: If you want to have budget accommodation, nice and clean room at a perfect location, then this is the right place for you. I’ll definitely stay there again when I come back to Barcelona!

So, this is my 3rd time visiting Barcelona. It's always been possibly my favourite European city. I was excited about taking my girlfriend and daughter for their first visit. Having stayed in the Gothic Quarter previously, this was the area most suited and the best situated for our stay. The Hostal Fernando ticked all the boxes for location, amenities and price. It's been nearly 15 years since my last visit so prices for accomadation have risen, and you probably could get cheaper but it was a great location. The area has a wide selection of accomadation, so anyone looking will find someone suitable. From the airport the Aerobus drops you at Placa de Catalunya regulary, then it's only a 5/10 minute to the Fernando, along La Rambla. Booking in was quick and easy, the reception is very bright and clean, the staff very helpful and information is was communicated very clearly. I had requested when booking the hostal, a room with a double and a single/or bunkbeds. The room actaully consisted of 2 twin beds and a set of bunkbeds. The room was very clean, airy and quite roomy. We were in room #114, and although the windows are very large, and you have a key to open the metal grating to allow access to the 'balcony', the balcony doesn't add anything to the room and the opposite buliding can only be maybe 6/8 feet away. But this does allow the sounds and smells of the city to be experienced. The beds were comfortable, the mattress was firm which I like, my girlfriend and daughter agreed the beds were nice too. There's plenty of plugs for charging electronic items. The available 'wardrobe' space is limited, the hanging are is short so a things don't hang freely even tshirts are too long. In this area is a safe which is always a nice touch, and something we used daily. The bathroom is very bright, but the toiliet area is quite tight, anyone who's tall may find it a bit of a squeeze while sat on the toilet. Plenty of towels are provided, as are toiletries, even a body wash in the shower area. The shower was very good, too many can be very weak in power... not this one! My only negative about the bathroom was the hot water in the sink, it took quite awhile to warm up, which meant alot of water was wasted. There is free wifi available, aircon in the room which was needed both when we were hot and during the night when the temperature dropped. Included with out room is a buffet style breakfast, served from 7.30 - 10.30am. It wasn't very extensive but is unlimited so you can make the most of it. We only used this option on our first morning, we stayed for 3 nights, as it wasn't great. With it's location I would have expected the croissants to be fresh rather than plastic wrapped. The coffee from the machine wasn't very hot which was surprising, but the selection was ok and there was tea's on offer also. The location is prefect for exploring the city, you're close to most attractions or not far from the many options for travel. The Goth

We spent three nights at this hotel and got upgraded which was nice due to an unfortunate incident. Please be careful in the Gothic Quarter as the pickpockets are everywhere and very skilled! We had a street view which was cute and the room itself was lovely. Only thing missing a full length mirror in the room so you can check yourself before you leave. The location is great. There is a terrace at the top but we didn't use it because its a bit chilly this time of year. We also tried to use the room service but the telephones didn't work so hopefully they will fix them. They have a nice little bar in the front of you want a drink in the evening or a coffee and pastries in the morning. The staff were pleasant enough but we are still disappointed that we were not told on arrival that the phones were not working so after being completely shattered from travelling we called from our phones to the hotel and the room service took very long (over an hour and half) so we cancelled the order! Apart from that all was okay there.

EXE PLAZA CATALUNYA, 2 nights, €180 per night I did not expect to stay at the Exe Plaza, in fact, I had not booked it at all. My reservation at an adjacent hotel was cancelled without notice or warning. You could imagine my surprise and slowly building rage when I arrived after disembarking a 7 hour flight, fighting through the airport and a taxi ride later to find my room was unilaterally terminated. What a time to be alive. But Exe Plaza was next door and within 15 minutes I had an online reservation and 10 minutes afterwards I was standing in my room. So far so good and so grateful. The checking process was extremely efficient and likely partly aided due to the online booking. The hotel is extremely well placed within one of the busiest and most popular spots in Barcelona. If you are a tourist visiting the city then, based on location, you could ask for nothing more. There is a carousel of open top sightseeing bus tours within 30 seconds of the front door. It is also a 15 minute taxi ride to the airport from the hotel assuming the traffic is forgiving. Taxis will set you back around €20. After the location and efficient check-in, the hotel starts to be judged more closely. Exe Plaza is quiet, clean has reliable Wi-Fi throughout which is free and at no additional charge (unlike some parasitic hotels). The staff are friendly, they speak perfect English in case you do not speak Spanish: there is just about nothing they can’t do or organise for you which is great. The rooms are a very decent size given that this is a European hotel, which is often a shoebox tastefully decorated. However, it is a little austere. There is solid light wood panelling and a very large floor-to-ceiling window that allows lights to flooding throughout the room. To be honest this feels a little like a Nordic IKEA show room minus all the vases, glasses and lamps that you are subtly encouraged to buy. This means that this well sized room is very bright. The bed is very comfortable, the sheets are soft and I slept well my entire time. There is a large screen TV here as well. Lastly, there is one of the largest mirrors I’ve ever seen in a hotel in case you are looking for a full length. The showers are hot and the water pressure is reliable. There are toiletries but you will want to bring your own. There is also a nicely stocked minibar. Is there anything wrong with this hotel? No, nothing is obviously wrong. However, if you are someone who wants to stay in the middle of Barcelona and you also enjoy a hotel then you may want to do a bit more research. By enjoying a hotel what I mean is if you like something that is more luxurious, something with boutique design features, a hotel with multiple facilities such as a gym or spa: this is not the hotel for you. For example, if you are coming to Barcelona for a romantic getaway and the hotel plays an integral part in that experience, this is not going to fit the brief. That said, if you are the kind of traveller who

If I did not receive an additional fee of more than one hundred euros after leaving the hotel, I would give a full score ... The additional cost of the child is calculated to 30 euros per night, plus a city construction tax of 7.6. I remember when I was at the front desk, I told I added 20 euros per night. Besides that, the experience was excellent. The location is excellent, the seaside, the British Palace and the Baroque House can be walked by. The rooms are equipped with ritual toiletries. The beds were particularly comfortable and the rooms were cleaned clean. Families with children (2 years and older) must choose a triple room in advance.

The location is close to the airport, there is a free airport van, this is the picture, checked into this hotel. It takes ten minutes to get out of the subway when the subway is uninhabited. At night, it's better not to go alone. As soon as I checked in, I found that the heating was broken. I went downstairs to tell the front desk, but no one came to repair it. I thought it might be the night when the staff was resting. I went back the next morning and found that several people in front of me were queuing for complaints. Some complained about showers and some picked up. However, the attitude at the front desk was still very good and I have been apologizing. Then I complained, and before I returned to the room after speaking, my friend said that the staff had repaired it and it was very efficient. Tried breakfast, not particularly outstanding.

This hotel is still in a very good location. It only takes five minutes to walk to the Sagrada Familia, and the subway is next to the Sagrada Familia, and it is ten minutes to walk to the Holy Cross Saint Paul Hospital. From here, no matter if you take the subway to Camp Nou, Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, Gracia Avenue is very convenient. The room is also spacious. The reason why I beat the four stars for hygiene was that the first night I noticed that there was a curved black hair under the pillow, which was a bit disgusting. But in fact, they are cleaned every day. It is estimated that they are sticky? ? ? Hygiene in the next few days is still OK.
