Hotels Near Hotel Restaurant Pariente In Schladming Review

After a very trying year, hubby looked long and hard online for a great christmas ski getaway. We were drawn to Schladming as, although we adore Austria, we hadn't been there before, the ski area looked suited to our experience and there was snow. Next was a hotel. A lot of review reading later and the Stadthotel Brunner was his choice. What an excellent choice. We knew it was B&B and that was fine as we thought it would be nice to sample lots of different places to eat (more on that later). The hotel has its own restaurant but knowing that Christmas Eve was an important date in the Christmas celebrations for Austrians we contacted the hotel who said they wouldn't be open for meals on that date but would be happy to find us somewhere that would (an excellent choice and another review), but they could offer us a 4 course Christmas Day meal for a very reasonable price (greatfully accepted). Walking in, the hotel presents an ultra modern front, lots of dark wood and large expanses of glass. An immediate warm welcome from reception and very agreeable news that we had been upgraded was happily received. Our room was very sizeable with huge amounts of storage and a gorgeous shower room. We were very pleased with the accommodation and that pleasure carried on when we viewed the magnificent top floor sauna and relaxation area and tea rooms (which we used every day and were amazing). Can there be anything more relaxing than lying in a sauna looking at the mountains, resting in a quiet room and then enjoying views of the black run into Planai whilst drinking a cup of delicious tea. The breakfast was wonderfully fresh, inventive and healthy and when we were able to sample the evening restaurant menu, we found the chef's talents impressive and so tasty that we came back again and again. We would highly recommend the Stadthotel brunner, the accommodation was intimate (small hotel) and top class, the helpfulness of the staff was second to none, the restaurant well worth several visits (we went to one or two other places to eat but mainly here as it was so good). Thank you, you made our Christmas

We stayed at "Die Barbara" with a group of 16 people. I must say that the rooms are nice, the Sauna(s) were great, the large kitchen we had was fantastic to cook for all of us and hang out. Before I go into any more detail, I would like to point out that we are in our mid thirties, and that we know how to behave appropriately. We also had two couples with kids and one girl that was pregnant. So you could say we were there for a relaxing vacation, and not to party loudly in the apartment. We had the room 701 which, that we learned the hard way, is located right beneath the owner´s personal apartment. The owner lives up there with her family, and I understand that she has the desire that her family can sleep in peace, after a certain hour. Our first encounter with her was, when she had let herself into our apartment and made it clear to us, that we were too loud. At that time we were sitting at the dinner table and engaging in casual conversation. In that first encounter, she had a very unfriendly and harsh tone, towards us. Confused and startled about the fact that there was a strange lady next to our dinner table, we promised to put (even more) effort into keeping the noise down. Going forwards we were being really quiet, to an extent, that we had less fun in our evenings, only to be met again by her, being yelled at that we were being too loud. After two days, we decided to complain about her behavior at the reception. She forwarded us to the Manager. The Manager said, that she has received these sort of complaints before, but she cant do anything, and that we had to talk to the owner ourselves. That was not an option. I think that the apartments are great, and that you can really enjoy the stay at "Die Barbara". But if you are unlucky enough to end up in Room 701, this lady can really ruin your trip. Based on my experience there, I would not book this apartment again.

This was the second time we have stayed at the Zirngast for our annual group hiking trip to Schladming. We love it. Marcel and Andrea and their friendly team provide the warmest of welcomes. The hotel is very well appointed and beautifully located next to the river. We stayed on a half-board basis, the breakfast buffet is incredibly good and dinner was excellent quality, imaginative and varied. We will definitely return!
