Hotel is right on the side of the port with lovely views and what seems to be an idyllic setting. However, Ischia is a working port with regular large ferries entering and leaving from dawn until dusk. Added to this is the fact that people congregate outside the hotel in the wee hours of the morning and the noise is unbearable. Then there is the hotel bar which on occasions plays music so loudly the lyrics of the songs could be heard in our room on the second floor at nearly 2am!! Reception staff and night porter did not assist when we complained which left us feeling frustrated and very tired several nights of our 10 night stay. The walls of the rooms are very thin meaning you can hear the tv in other rooms and lights being switched on and off. The hotel doesn’t deserve a 4 star status. It appeared a bit tired, the steam room in the spa didn’t work and the food was a little ‘the same’ after 10 days. Having said that, it was spotlessly clean and the restaurant staff were lovely. It’s just such a shame the hotel isn’t better sound proofed. Ischia is a fabulous little island and we completely fell in love with it. But sadly the hotel didn’t come up to scratch and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you were hard of hearing or don’t mind being kept awake until the early hours (0530 one night).

We stayed here for 3 nights in February. We absolutely loved the location of Villa Maria, so close to the buses all over the island and within walking distance of the entire Port all the way to the castle Aragonese. I felt comfortable and very well cared for here. The weather was typically bad, but the welcome always warm and the cappuccinos wonderul. OUr room overlooked the main street and port and I enjoyed the sunset over the everyday scene immensely. This hotel provides really clean rooms that are comfortable and functional. They are not super elegant or upscale, but the showers are always hot and strong, and the rooms spotless. I absolutely loved Villa Maria.

Not long back from a 2 week stay at this lovely hotel. It’s a great place to stay, 5 minutes from the pretty port and right in the resort centre amidst a bustling shopping area with an abundance of bars, gelaterias and restaurants and the beach is at the end of the street. All the hotel staff are brilliant (with no exceptions) and to name but a few.... Gabriella on reception, Rafaella on the bar, Mario in the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble and Gabriella even hired a wheelchair for us so my husband could get me out and about! We had a good room on the 3rd floor with a small balcony which our lovely housekeeper kept spotless every day. We spent our mornings by the pool in a perfect little courtyard and our afternoons on the huge terrace on our floor which had sun loungers, umbrellas and 2 spa pools. The spa pools were surprisingly very hot but once you were in were very soothing even with the whirlpool gently pummelling away. We didn’t use the hotels indoor spa facilities but many other people did and some of them were on ‘spa break’ stays. The restaurant gave us a wide variety of traditional menus and we didn’t get a repeat menu for the entire 2 week stay. The food was as locally produced as possible and tasty and the portions were huge!! We would definitely go back and stay and maybe take advantage of some of the excursions (of which there are many: to Procida, Naples, Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi coast etc.). The island is relatively small but there is so much going on (even in September) with the impressive Aragonese castle within walking distance (a bit of an adventure with the wheelchair - cobbled streets, narrow footpaths, very few dropped curbs but all added to the fun!!) and local small buses to take you around the whole island to visit the beautiful traditional fishing villages, spa gardens and festas etc. There was a couple of ladies who told us this was their 9th stay at the hotel as they loved it so much! At the time we stayed we were the only British guests (until another couple arrived a few days before we left) but this wasn’t a problem (in fact we enjoyed the experience immensely and managed to use our limited Italian to the amusement of the staff!!). We travelled with Jet2 who, I must say, were brilliant both outbound and inbound. Everything went so smoothly despite having to transfer by car from the airport to Naples port and then a fast ferry to Ischia and on to our hotel and it was the same in reverse on our return. A simply wonderful holiday!

This small “resort” perfectly matched what we were looking for. Self catering accommodation but close to good restaurants; quiet and peaceful but not isolated; not a big sprawling resort but with help on hand. We loved it! Alessandro’s welcome set the tone straightaway - he helped up with our luggage, showed us where to park the car, and gave us a quick map “tour” of the island and recommendations for restaurants. The apartment (Ares) was for 2-4 people with one bedroom and two bathrooms (there’s a sofa bed in the living room). We had it just for the two of us....nice to have the extra space and a bathroom each! It was beautifully decorated, with a well equipped galley kitchen. Being on the ground floor you could walk out onto the semi-private seating area with outdoor chairs, table, sun loungers and deck chairs (it wasn’t entirely clear whether other residents could use it, presumably when it’s busy they might do...). Everything was very clean and the apartment was serviced every day. Note: we brought a car on the ferry but parking is extremely limited near the hotel (and the tight lanes are not for the fainted hearted). Also, the fruit and veg at the local supermarket near the port left a lot to be desired...better to go to the supermarket Dok on Via Alfredo de Luca (loads of choice including a great gluten-free range). We would especially recommend eating at Il Braccioniere (one of Alessandro’s recommendations) - up on Mount Epomeo with great views and delicious rabbit dishes! (You must order in advance if you want the typical ischitana rabbit dish)

We stayed in Ischia Porto because I wanted to be able to walk to the hotel from the port because we knew we were going back and forth for a day trip. We stayed at Hotel Postiglione, which was a perfect introduction to Italy for the kids. (First time in Europe for them.) We had a third-floor quad with a tiny balcony. Good AC, good towels, decent beds, good bathroom, excellent coffee, basic breakfast included. Very nice people. The location was great: about 10 min walk from port, right between a main road (Via Alfredo de Luca) and the shopping/pedestrian area (Via Rome/Corso Vittoria Colonna). “The Corso” is full of shops and restaurants. After dark, there’s tons of people out walking. The “bars” give you a good view of the scene, and give you snacks with your cocktails. Good with kids. About a 30 min walk to the Castle. Bus service was good; easy to get to Forio.

Hotel Vittoria is a fantastic gem in the heart of Ischia Porto. It’s just off the main street, so it’s very quiet but all the main shopping streets are few minutes walk away. It took us about 10/15 minutes to meander to the beach. The interior is stunning with hot tub and pool in the back garden and a terrace overlooking the mountains. You can enjoy the sunset from the terrace! Our room was great with a view into the street. The bed was one of the most comfortable ones and the air conditioning with a sleep mode was a life saver! Breakfast was delicious and the staff (a family) went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible! The room does not have a safe but the owners kept all our valuables save with them. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and loved it! Whilst walking around the Ischia Port we certainly felt we were staying in the best place possible and would certainly stay there again. My husband and I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels, small or big and this hotel has been one the best so far! I can recommend this place to anyone!

I booked this holiday as surprise trip for my boyfriend, after me being in Australia for 15 months on work! and wow what a holiday. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was perfect. We arrived fresh off the boat on the sunday afternoon, had a bite to eat in town and got a little taxi up to the hotel where we were greated with smiles and a very speedy check in. I was suffering from horrendous jet lag, so completely crashed out, leaving my poor boyfriend to fend for himself for a solo dinner. The restaurant at the hotel managed to rustle him up a very late risotto, which was delicious! one of the best risottos I've ever had. After reading a couple of reviews on trip advisor regarding the food, to be honest i was skeptical. But oh how wrong they were, the food was FANTASTIC! Very authentic, tasty, and breakfast was a delight. The room was large, clean and perfect for our stay. The hotel again was the same, very spacious which loads of sun doused areas to relax in, inside and out. The pool area was like something out of a James Bond movie, and the panoramic views were like nothing I've ever seen. Prosecco by the pool is the top tip! The staff at the hotel were so helpful, we had a very late flight on our last day so didn't need to leave the hotel till about 5pm. The hotel allowed us a late check out, then we lounged by the pool most of the day and had some lunch. They then gave us access to a room where we could have a shower and freshen up before we left the hotel. Fantastic service. We will most definitely be back, and are already looking at when we can return next year. Thank you for the most wonderful holiday.

When we arrived we were slightly early and were asked to wait by the bar by the pool. We had a couple of beers while admiring the view. When we were called in, the staff had lumped all our bags up into our rooms for us! Awesome. Breakfast covered just about any nationality and they even had a fresh slab of honeycomb taken straight from the hive layed-out and angled for you to take honey direct. Mind you the funniest thing we saw was and old dear 'injecting' a croissant with Nutella with a weird pump-machine made just for the task. The rooms were clean and I think we had the best room in the building; 2nd floor, far corner overlooking the pool. Do not miss-out on trying the basement hot pool. We went late Sept and we had the whole thing to ourselves. I fell asleep for about an hour to the sound of rushing water from the pool. Brilliant. The roof terrace is the place to eat (for the views at night). The staff were exceptional and very helpful. A word of warning, like a total numpty I asked the staff about a laundry service and they dutifully took my bag of washing away to be cleaned. When we checked out a week later a stupendous €135 was added to the bill! At least my socks & pants were individually ironed & tagged... It actually would have been cheaper to have thrown away my clothes & brought new ones. Oh well, lesson learned. Irrespective of that, the hotel's location is a good compromise for proximity to the main port and to the Castle where most of the restaurants are. Other reviewers make a valid point about the cost of wine here but if you walk around the corner you can spend just over a whole euro and buy a tetra-pack of red to quaff on your balcony while admiring the view and laughing at your laundry bill. We would recommend and would stay again without hesitation.

I’d just heard about Punta Molino Resort ever since, but finally had the chance to stay there for three days, and I can honestly say that it was a great experience. The location is gorgeous and allows you to reach the main venues in Ischia Porto. The view from every part of the resort is stunning as well as the park that surrounds it. Customers can choose several services such as the gym, the thermal baths, the beaches, the spa, and, of course, the bar and an elegant but not formal restaurant. Everything is so easy that you don’t need any induction to enjoy these services. But what, in my opinion, makes this resort really special and attracts and retains customers is the staff, from the manager to the waiters. I happened to meet people who have been spending their summer holidays for 26 years in a row at Punta Molino Resort, and the main reason of their fidelity is the sincere kindness and humanity of all the people working there, from the eldest to the recent ones. And as a brand new customer, I can confirm this without any doubt.

The staff here were brilliant! They really went the extra yard to get us an upgrade to our room and we were really pleased with the outcome. The pretty little gardens and patios and views at this hotel are worth the climb up its stairs from the road. It felt very private relaxing and quiet, exactly the chilled location and venue we were after. We arrived by hydrofoil from Naples Porto, journey was about an hour and smooth. The port at Ischia was small and busy with many taxi's available. The Taxi to the hotel was quick and cost us 15Euros but the drivers always wanted an extra 5 extra as tip. We had a room at the side of the hotel at first but asked for and received a upgrade to a room at the front with an amazing picture perfect seaview of the Aragonese Castle and the island of Capri in the distance. The hotel had a really cute small private pool, and also partnered with the Gardenia Mare restaurant just across the road to allow discounts for guest to use their private beach at 10Euros a day. We did this for 3 of the 5 days we stayed. The Gardenia Mare restaurant is a fantastic place for lunch and romantic dinner by the sea (bit pricey tho). They also provide discounted meals for guests at Hotel Delfini just up the road. The hotel is located near the Aragonese Castle, you can take a bus for a couple of euros or get a bus pass for several days to a week, however if your up for it, its a pleasant (but somewhat hilly) 20 min walk with a view of the coast, to the cute promenade along Via Luigi Mazzella, make sure you visit Ristorante Pizzeria Aglio olio & Pomodoro and Porcavacca Ischia Steak House and ‘aParanza Sea Restaurant but make sure you book or you might miss a table! thankfully all the restaurants and gelato fronts stay open until quite late. Make sure you visit the castle its a surprisingly beautiful tranquil and lush oasis. I would also recommend spending some evening at the Porto d'Ischia. There are many lovely bars like Porto51 and restaurants like Taverna Antonio. Check out the swanky posh yachts that line the marinas. Stroll along pretty busier promenades along Via Roma and Corso Vittoria Colonna and browse the boutique shops and bars and just enjoy the atmosphere.

We booked to stay at the Miramare a few weeks ago as a last minute decision to celebrate our anniversary. We booked our transfers through Ischia Review and arrived on the island without issue. Ischia Ponte is closer to Ischia Porto than we’d realised. So by taxi it takes less than 10 minutes. When we arrived we were delighted to be told that we’d been upgraded to a sea view room and also had a complimentary 20 minute massage. When we got up to our room we were not disappointed, the room was immaculate and nicely furnished with amazing views of Vivara ( linked to The island of Procida) and the Aragonese Castle . As it was our Anniversary there was also a Complimentary bottle of Prosecco in the room- this was a really lovely touch. The hotel is charming, beautifully kept and elegant without being too formal. The staff are friendly and engaging and could not do enough for us. Considering they had all worked a busy season and are probably looking forward to a break it did not show. Service was faultless at breakfast, lunch and on one occasion we ate in the restaurant in the evening. This was really good, the food was cooked beautifully and the service amazingly good. We never ate in the La Lampara restaurant on the terrace but Wow! What a gorgeous setting. Restaurant beautifully laid out. Something for our next visit because we will definitely return. I had a few treatments whilst at the hotel and these were also great, very relaxing. We also went across the road the sister hotel to visit the thermal pool, just so we felt like we’d done everything. It is a nice hotel but no comparison with Miramere which was definitely the star of the show. The hotel arranged a island trip this was 120 euros and good value for money, took around 3 hours with a hour to explore Sant Angelo which is very picturesque quaint seaside location. However, considering we had no prior experience of the island we felt we had chosen well in Ischia Ponte and the Miramere. The hotel is perfectly situated for the local restaurants , shops, bars and more. It is only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Castle - this is a must to visit. The weather was really pleasant and a consistent 25 -27 degrees every day, lovely to sunbathe and relax by the sea. We had wonderful holiday and were very sad to leave this gorgeous place. It was a truly great experience.

I recently spent a night at Da Maria and had a lovely experience. The property itself is in a magical setting, nestled into the hillside and running down to its own black sand/pebble beach on the Bay of Naples. From the moment you step off the water taxi, you will be captivated by the beautiful view of the Castello Aragonese, the surrounding hillsides and the hotel itself. The giant patio is beautiful and the pool is filled with warm thermal spring water. Our room looked directly out on the water with a balcony and was very clean, modern and obviously recently remodeled. The attached restaurant overlooking the beach served an excellent lunch, with many seafood options. The staff could not have been more helpful and Onofrio at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. All in all, it was a magical experience and highly recommended.

We stayed at the Hotel Hermitage at the end of September/early October. The hotel is in a lovely setting within easy walking distance of the shops, bars and restaurants and the Castle. We found the hotel staff helpful and friendly. The two outdoor pools were lovely; quiet and relaxing with plenty of sunbeds and clean toilet and changing facilities. One pool has the pool bar and, jacuzzi and water fountain, the other one has views of the castle and is the thermal pool. I also tried the indoor spa which has a large jacuzzi pool, sauna and steam room. You will need a robe when using the spa so if you don’t want to pay the hire charge of 3.5 Euros, you could take your own. There are also other areas of the garden where you can sit and read quietly. We needed more pillows when we arrived, so we asked at reception and they were in the room very soon after. The man on reception also gave advice about the local buses. We found the evening meals to be very good, a large selection from the mainly cold buffet selection of salads, pastas, meat, vegetables, the bruschetta was lovely and courgettes were cooked just right! After the buffet selection, there where 3 more courses served to your table, including the dessert choice. The dessert was cake or fruit so not so much choice as we have enjoyed at other resorts but it was still good. The lemon cake was to die for! Although, the breakfast was good we thought it was a bit limited on choice, although the pastries were excellent and barista style coffee was available if you didn’t mind queuing up. We opted for a basic room, so we didn’t know what to expect after reading some of the reviews. Our room was very nice, it was a good size, clean and with a large bathroom and nice balcony with table and chairs and a pretty view of trees/neighbouring gardens at the back of the hotel. The only down side to the room was that it was up and down quite a few steps and was not accessible by the lift, anyway it was good exercise! There is a small gym at the hotel but the carpet needs replacing, I expect this will be done for the 2020 season. There was some entertainment at the beginning of our holiday, a man singing and playing an organ, a variety of French tunes and he also played piano at breakfast time. I think that the hotel lacked another bar/entertainment area but I think most people want to go out enjoying a drink or two in the many bars in Ischia Porto rather than staying in the hotel. There is another conference type room where there was a large screen TV and guests were watching football or playing cards. I think that amount we paid for our holiday offered good value for money, although we thought a bottle of wine with the evening meal was a bit expensive at 22 Euros as we priced it up at a local supermarket.

-at the arrival:we choose a room between the ones available they showed us on watsapp 10 days earlier at the booking time. They allocated us near a couple who was noisy during the night next to us.Luckily they left two days after. The beach the hotel had a deal with: Next to them were doing drilling works.Owner of the beach was nice he did what he could to place us far from drilling work,a shame for his clients .People who was going yearly there were gipsy cause they were not respecting beach covid rules and they were doing on purpose they were turning the face in our direction once they were not controlled by the owner. -in regards the pandemic time: l felt it was quite risky as they have also taken people in the hotel who were teachers and was doing “level a” exams for 100’s of people and they didn’t tell us this before booking, -Breakfast service: Giusy a bit overwhelmed there was a few times misunderstandings with kitchen. They should have hired an extra person at least in the weekend.Overall she tried her best to be professional, even though she was stressed. What could have been improved: a vegan alternative or at least the possibility to choose an alternative meats or dairy free menu as not everyone eats rabbits and pork and dairy products. The positive point is that Annabelle was nice as she found an alternative for me once asked and explained the reasons. I definitely wouldn’t recommend to go to free beach on Sunday as unfortunately people wasn’t respecting social distancing covid rules and people who lives there wants to also be right and have the right to add sun-umbrellas when they wanted not caring about distances and for them we should have moved cause we are tourist and we don’t reside there all the time like them. Not really welcoming as we had to argue. Unfortunately l got stressed and didn’t really found relax l was looking for. Plus The owner of the hotel was trying to test the cultural grade l was having and she tried to make me look wrong without letting me even finish what l was trying to say.Very unprofessional trying to discredit people. The service at times wasn’t professional as l found it a bit too intrusive and at times provocative. -They didn’t have much choice in twin rooms The positive side was that we managed to get some sunshine’s and the rooms were super clean with fresh towels /linen everyday

Had a lovely time at this hotel and all staff were polite, helpful and eager to make our visit special. There is a lovely outdoor pool with plenty of beds available. There is also a thermal pool. Our room was excellent and a great balcony overlooking the pool. A lovely gesture of a complimentary bottle of Cava was in our room. The tv channels were not working at first and wi -fi was weak, but no sooner mentioned and they were immediately looked at and rectified. A fuse blew in a light on the second morning but again the wonderful Fillipo sorted it. I kidded on that I was a jinx. Our room was kept immaculate by Nancy, who was American born and was a font of useful information. Nothing was too much for her and she twice arranged ice buckets for further bottles of prosecco that we had bought. The front of house staff quickly remembered us and were able to bring us our key without asking the room number. We had breakfast every day and it was excellent. A good choice of continental options, smoked salmon, ,scrambled egg and the best bacon I have had whilst abroad. The waiting staff were attentive to all our needs and the big bonus was the option of prosecco to wash it all down. The option to use the facilities in the close sister hotel nearby was great, as they had roof jacuzzis with great views of the castle. You could also use their sun beds and little beach. which was very useful. We had a fabulous 10 days in this lovely hotel and would definitely stay again if we revist Ischia.

This was our second holiday here. You know when you go back to a place and there is always that little niggle in the back of your head - is it going to be as good this time round. Well it was. From the minute we walked through the door until the minute we got picked up to come home - everything was perfect. Most of the staff were still there from last year and we were greeted like old friends. The service is outstanding. The hotel is clean and luxurious. Your room is serviced on a morning and then again in the evening when they bring you clean pool towels, water and chocolates, We were half board, Breakfast is from the buffet or they will make you omelettes etc, to order. Evening meal was restaurant standard - the pasta course was always good. It was Ferragosto when we were there and the hotel organised a gala evening - fantastic. The hotel has a private area by the sea - sun beds on decking with access to the sea. Same excellent service and a nice change from the pool area - when we could drag ourselves away. The pool area which also includes a thermal pool is so lovely and relaxing you don't really want to move. Can't rate this hotel highly enough - it is simply perfect.

This has been a fantastic finding for us in Ischia! We feel so lucky to have found a place that is family-run and proudly so! The minute we stepped at the reception we have felw welcome! We were given clear directions to everything we needed to know and followed most of them for places to go. We loved every single day! All members of the family and staff were kind, corteous, friendly. Above all, I have to say, la Sig.ra Annamaria! We loved our daily chats with her about our day, what we liked, her tips about places to go and things to do and REAL Ischia products to buy as little presents, our cooking tips exchanged, her warmth and food presents! Grazie, Sig.ra Annamaria, you are really really lovely! We wanted someone really from Ischia to help us know the real Ischia and we found it with this lovely family. A big pull for booking with them was the fact they did not have TV in the room! I do not go to Ischia to watch TV! Also, the rooms where the right size: I do not want big rooms as I do not go on holiday to stay in my room! Sheets changed every three days, towels, all towels, every day! I loved the touches of tradition I could recognise as an italian: cotton towels, sheets and bedcover from past times! I loved that! So much nicer quality than the average! The place is near the park, close to the beach, quiet, but only few minutes away walking from the bustling main roads. The place has no air conditioning, but if previous moaners took the time to talk to the staff they would have learnt that this is a clear enviromental choice: they have ceiling fans with different speeds that work just as well, for goodness's sake, but enviromentally better! We are vegan, plenty of fresh friut and fresh bread for our breakfast. We spent a week there and would recommend it over and over! Grazie a tutti e a presto!

We stayed for 2 nights in this villa and for us it was a great experiance. The staff in the reception provided us maps and recommendations for the main attractions in the area and also tips where to park cheaper or even free of charge. Breakfast included both mediteranian and italian and included anything that you might want.

Came here for a short break away from England! Soon as we came off the boat we were immediately met for our short drive to the Villa. The room was spotless and the bath was wonderful to relax in. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. You are able to use the thermal pools for free which is a real bonus while staying here. They are a short five minute walk away and offer many pools at different temperatures, places to enjoy some excellent food and wine. The breakfast is very simple and sets you up for the day ahead. Some different choices of meats occasionally would be good! Coffee is excellent and plenty of fresh fruits and juices available too. You are left alone to enjoy your stay in peace, which i very much appreciated. The walk either way into town is very pleasant, make sure you massage your calf muscles after it!! Bus tickets are available to purchase at the Villa if you prefer not to walk. If you come to this villa you will not be disappointed. A little gem amongst the crown of Ischia!!

Maybe it is the fact they have a shuttle with the kindness driver whi gives the better advise on where to go and how to move around the island. Maybe the fact that by being at this hotel you get some cool discounts to some of the island's attractions. Perhaps the €25 massage I got today that got ride of my sciatica and leg pain. Or the fact that they all smile all the time when you ask something, pass by, go out, get back... Maybe the fact I arrived at 1pm and they didn't even mentioned check-in time. Thinking about it, it must be for the umbrella I was able to borrow for the day. Or the nice, little room I got; or the fact must buses pass near by so it is very easy to get back; or the neon sign that means I always know where I need to be heading; ok, not it must be the thermal pool and the sauna; wait, what about the super breakfast that set me up for the day (skipping lunch and all). Or the €15 3l courses dinner when everywhere else all was over €25. I can't quite decide so why don't you try and let me know?

We stayed for a week in a deluxe room. For the price we paid, the location and views were unbeatable (though as other reviewers mention, it may be a challenging location for less mobile guests as it's on a steep road, we didn't take public transport so can't comment on the convenience of that but it's about a 15 min walk to the restaurants and shops next to the castle, and about a half hour walk to the port area). The breakfast was nice, fresh fruits, good coffee machine and selection of cakes, breads, yoghurts. The cleaning service was good every day and the cleaners were friendly but the reception staff seemed mostly disinterested with no attempt at a smile or hello when entering the hotel. When we first checked in, they showed us into the wrong room which already had someone's luggage in it, so we were asked to wait ten minutes in reception before being checked in to the room next door. On checking out, I asked the evening before if there was anything we'd need to do as we were going to be leaving very early in the morning. I was brushed aside as the person on reception was busy on the phone, saying check out wasn't until 8am despite me saying that was too late. So we intended to just put the key on the desk, but in the morning were told by the night staff that we had to pay a city tax. This was 10 minutes of faff we could have settled the evening before and meant we had to rush in the morning. The room itself was fine with a jet tub, though somewhat aged. As other reviewers have said, the whole place needs a bit of doing up. We could mostly live with this but when we asked how to work the air conditioning were told it didn't work once it hit October. It was too hot to sleep with no air con and no fan in the room so we had a lot of mosquito bites!! Not pleasant. Suspect this wasn't helped by little pools of standing water around the pool area (fountains that don't work etc). The pool area in general needs some work. They had started to dismantle the decking on the sea platform and also the shades in the pool area while we were there so perhaps these will be improved by the start of next season but not very nice for us that we couldn't use them and a bit unsightly to have people doing work around you and exposed metal frames everywhere while relaxing in the sun. Also sound proofing in rooms is an issue - for some reason the adjoining room next to ours had a piano in it so we were subjected to kids banging on that!

We had a room with a big balcony and double aspect windows - It would be difficult to beat the amazing views we had of the sea and the castle. The hotel staff were really helpful and the hotel is really lovely. I would highly recommend it. The breakfast room is beautiful with gorgeous views out to sea and the garden is really pretty. It was our favourite hotel for views whilst we travelled around Ischia. I just wanted to add that maybe getting a taxi from the port would be a good idea because we decided to walk from the Port when we got off the ferry and It took us about 25 mins in the end . We walked along the Via Antonio Sogliuzzo and then turned left towards the seafront at some point . Eventually, by the two large pink hotels on the seafront in Ponte (one of which you can clearly see on Villa Panoramica's photos.)we finally found a sign for the hotel which directed us (strangely) through a car park and then up some steep steps which led to the hotels garden and entrance facing the sea. However, we later found that there was a road by the 1st pink hotel we came to that was easier to walk up until you reach the big metal gates to the hotels grounds. Easier again, from the main road called Via Antonio Sogliuzzoo look for a road named Via Mirabella - there are 2 and either is acceptable to go down and the hotel is not far down that road, with easy flat access to the hotel. Just thought I would mention this for anyone who has difficulty with stairs/heavy luggage. We loved our stay in Ischia Ponte. A very memorable experience. We will return as soon as we can.

The hotel is quaint, with a cute little garden area at front that could use some upkeep; but hotel is a bit outdated and far from the main streets. Twice during our stay we could not access the hotel via our taxi via the main roads due to events causing the street the hotel is on to be blocked off, resulting in much higher taxi fare due to the very long, roundabout way required to avoid the blockade. Bedroom set-up was cramped, but clean. Balcony had no view and was barely big enough to fit 2 small folding chairs. Pool area is nice, but quite small. Staff is welcoming and friendly, breakfast is a decent variety of simple fare. Unfortunately, location being well outside the main Porto area & away from main roads just did not work for us due to the walking required to get to any of the Porto sites, restaurants and beach.

Upon arrival at the hotel it appears that you are entering a little oasis. Set back from the main road and a short taxi ride from the port, although it is walkable in about 15 to 20 minutes, we were pleasantly delighted. The room we were allocated was on the 2nd floor, nice bedroom with a large balcony. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom and good space. The breakfast the next morning should have been a buffet but due to COVID it had been changed to a 'tick choice' from the list the staff provided. All fine and very hot coffee. Unfortunately it was after this that the hotel showed that it really was not a 4* hotel. Whilst in Ischia we experienced very mixed weather, strong winds and heavy rain that lasted about an hour before returning to sun and sunbathing weather. We waited for about an hour after one of these storms had passed before returning to the pool area to relax. Only to find the whole area covered in debris. No staff were cleaning the pool or the surrounding area and upon speaking to the manager to highlight this we were informed that he did not have the staff and instead if getting someone to clean it he would close the pool. All this time the pool bar staff were just standing around doing nothing. We decided to look at other hotels and see if they too had the same issues. Whilst looking we experienced another torrential storm and took cover for 15 minutes. Once passed we continue to inspect the hotel Floridiana. Where we saw a totally different attitude. The pool staff were out hovering the pool. Pool area was being swept and loungers cleaned, exactly what you would expect of a 4* hotel. We tried to inform the manager of the difference in standards between the Central Park and the Floridiana. He was unavailable/declined to come to reception to talk to us. We decided to change hotels and checked out. Best decision we could have made. In short, the hotel Central Park showed great promise but was a let down for a 4 * hotel. There are better 4* hotels nearby that take pride in their facilities.

Very pretty, spread out hotel, no high rise. Only tried one of the pools and it wasn’t overcrowded, clean and warm. We certainly looked very fetching in our swimming caps we had to buy (only 2 euros) to stop hair going in to the filter. Our room was air conditioned and spacious with a shared small terrace and kept very clean by a lovely lady who came in everyday. It was a bit of a walk up and down steps but we didn’t mind at all. We were on a half board basis and found it great that we could pick lunch or evening meal to dine. Having discovered that the men had to wear long trousers for dinner we were advised to buy some from a local shop. My husband sported his new trousers the first night to discover that most men were in shorts. We took the unnecessary purchase on the chin as he now owns a very trendy, reasonably priced pair of trousers. Dinner was served by very nice, polite staff. The choices were sometimes unusual, I personally wouldn’t serve tripe with cauliflower cheese, the similarity in look would have been interesting. The food was generally good but not sure the attention to our every increasing waist bands during the week necessitated a seeming decrease in portion size as the week went on. Overall I would recommend this hotel, it only was a shortish walk to the port although smallish pavements. The concierge was very helpful with buses and sold us tickets for them. Buses are cheap and go all round the island.

Nice hotel largely supported by the fantastic view and the private access to the sea. But as a cheap location, don’t expect so high quality : you’ll get what you pay for. In addition, and due to the COVID-19, manning is very limited, don’t expect to be served in time or quickly: only one waiter ... But it’s a nice place. I saw many “bad” comments, honestly, it’s a correct hostel. To go there, taxi or bus (line 12) from the port of Ischia. And for the thermal baths, take your head caps.
