I chose to book one night at this hostel because of the cheap fees it offered...which kind of backfired. This hostel felt uncomfortable and badly arranged. The small common hall felt suffocating and narrow. The place had, I suspect, a problem with keeping the bed linens clean, which had never occurred to me in any of the hostels where I had been staying. Not only there is an unappealing cart loaded with dirty sheets in plain sight, but I'm pretty sure about the presence of bugs as of the time of my stay. Besides, at a point I had to use a pc to fix an urgent problem with my mobile phone. I was answered that the access to the pc was precluded to the customers and nothing could be done. I resolved my problem by walking to another hostel, which looked considerably better kept, did have an internet room, and the staff of which proved kind and helpful. The area is a ten-minute walk from the central station and looks quite seedy. You don't want to ruin your stay in beautiful Hamburg by staying at this place - good news is, it hardly gets worse than that.

Sometimes we are in hotels where you somehow get a strange feeling right from the moment you check in. You don't feel comfortable and welcome. The Courtyard Hamburg City is one of them. It started at the reception during our very early check-in. The staff member told us in a supercilious manner that we had received an upgrade. But the ”better” rooms had not yet been cleaned. But because we were getting an upgrade, it would certainly be worth waiting for the room. Our question about when we could expect the room was only answered with the statement that the actual check-in was at 3 pm. We could go into town in the meantime, it's not far and we shouldn't come back too early - 3 pm. We could leave our luggage at the hotel. There is still room for improvement! And so there were a few similar little things during our stay. None of them big issues. But just a lot of little things where you keep asking yourself: ”Why? Why don't they just do it better?” The stay ended as it had begun. After our online check-out, we discovered that the bill was not correct. However, this was corrected immediately after a complaint by e-mail. No comment. Without apology or the like. A word about breakfast, as there were many comments on this: The restaurant in the hotel is run by an outside company. This is not noticeable at first glance. Nevertheless, this constellation has disadvantages. For example, the restaurant is closed one day a week (breakfast is of course available all week). Is that a good thing for a hotel? That's something everyone has to decide for themselves. But now to breakfast: Cost: 25 Euros, if not already included in the room rate. The breakfast is extensive. Nevertheless, there are some things that are not there. For example, freshly prepared egg dishes. Here, you are treated to prefabricated fried eggs, scrambled eggs and the like, some of which look rather adventurous. There are also no pencakes or waffles. On the other hand, there is a large vegetarian/vegan corner. Most of the dishes are of very high quality, often even organic or Demeter. The service is prompt, attentive and friendly. The ambience in the restaurant is also quite good. Is the breakfast now worth its 25 euros? Yes, because the restaurant is run by a third party and the operator also has to earn money. Yes, because the ingredients are of very high quality. Yes, because the selection is quite large. No, because certain things such as egg dishes prepared on site are missing. No, because the selection is large, but not outstanding. In our opinion, a price of 19 euros would suit the breakfast better.

The room is relatively large and the sanitary condition is okay. But it looks very old, maybe because the carpet and the wall are all red. I have become accustomed to Ctrip booking rooms are always first and last rooms or irregular room types, this time is no exception. The breakfast is ok, it is basic, all western food. The location is good, two or three blocks away is the train station, then the commercial street, you can walk to the city hall and the Maiden's Causeway, and the airport is also S1 direct. As previously mentioned by netizens, there are many blacks and Arabs around. Although there is no danger, they do feel scared. The real large supermarket is diagonally opposite the hotel, and there is a Lidl poor supermarket on the street behind the hotel, which makes shopping more convenient.

Waren with the family over a long weekend (Carnival) in Hamburg. It was a super buffet. nice and friendly welcome. Always helpful with questions. The room was large enough for 3 people and the design of container walls we found class. The opening rooms are well accessible in about 5-10 minutes. We had not chosen for the breakfast offered because we could stop our 3 m2 cheaper on the way to the metro. As our train was late, we could still put our bags in the ”Fort Knox” after check out and have a nice day in Hamburg. All in all we felt well lifted and we also liked to continue recommending the superbuds.

Stayed in a single room, then switched to a 6 man dorm on the final night as it was Sunday and was expecting it to be very quiet. The single rooms are spartan and there is not even a chair, just some little stuffed stool. The issue in Hamburg is that accomdation is expensive in the city. For the same money, you could stay at a very nice 3 star hotel in many European cities! The 6 man dorm seemed quiet and ok, and then I noticed the issues. There were beer stains on the floor that acted as adhesive for my shoes. Crumbs and discarded sweet rappers in and around the bed. I had the room to myself so didn't complain. Settled for a decent night's rest. That's when someone came in at midnight (Sunday) and loudly stomped around, turning on all of the lights. They then took a shower and took their merry time settling into bed... For the price the rooms are not up to scratch. However, there aren't many ”cheaper” alternatives in Hamburg and the hostel (that charges hotel prices) know this. The check-in service was tedious and there's a queue at check in time. When I switched rooms to the 6 man dorm I said I wanted an early checkin to the that room if possible, and on the quiet side of the building (non motorway). They said no problem. Then, when I went to the room, it was of course on the noisy side. Went back and had to wait a couple hours longer before I could access the quieter room that I had asked for. The customer service is not great. They'll ask for your booking number even after you tell them your name. I did not feel like digging around for the number so I said my name and they searched for it (much to their distain probably).

It’s an okay hotel if you are in Hamburg. Located close to the main train station so it’s easy to get to. However it is right infront of the police station. The hotel atmosphere is a bit outdated. They do have a wellness area but the layout is a bit weird so it wasn’t really relaxing. No are where you can change out of your clothes (and no bathropes available). You have to walk through the sauna area (where you are normally not so dressed) to the gym area (where people are dressed). Furthermore people use the attached rooftop balcony to hang out in the Evening. So people walk through in their street clothes as well. However, the staff was always nice.

The Hotel City House has a equipment as you can imagine the British Royal House. For us the dogs were a little used to. But the hotel is very clean and the staff is super. The drinks of the minibar are available on request, the Gin Tonic was very delicious. The receptionists have all wishes fulfilled as well as the breakfast team. All in the hotel always had a smile left for us, so we can certainly continue to recommend the hotel. The breakfast menu was ok, it was always interpreted, I personally missed the fish. The room was large enough, the beds very comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. The side streets at the hotel are somewhat unhappy, as they are partly populated by homeless and drug addicts. On the main road the way to the hotel is in order and we were not harmed.

Terrible service! I asked politely for some ice in the hotel bar. The bartender asked if wanted something to drink. I said no, I just want some ice to bring to my room. Then he told me it will take some time. After that, he did everything else than giving me the ice. After a couple of minutes after running out of glasses to clean and lemons to slice, he finally gave me five small ice cubes and told me that normally you only get ice if you order a drink. You cannot imagine how GRATEFUL I felt 🤣 At least this gave me plenty of time to review the hotel's service. By the way, the WIFI sucks too.

The hotel downstairs is a street in the Middle East. It is good to buy fruits and vegetables in the supermarket. However, during such a wave of refugees, the women who brought me children were scared to death. The hotel breakfast is very poor, it is still next door, in the lobby of another hotel. There is no elevator in the hotel, so I climbed to the third floor with my luggage, alas. If young people, men and women can live in, others don't even think about living abroad to save money.

I got a 60 min massage today. It was a great experience. In the waiting area there was a tea for unanimity (which would be super if the used kelch were marked). I was picked up by a very friendly massage. She explained to me very great at the beginning what she was doing now and it was very kind. On the side I was very comfortable and I got a towel between my legs. The massage oil was preheated and the hand pressure of the massage was top. At the end there was another neck massage that was so nice and under the knees I got a towel roll. The room was warm and there was quiet relaxing music. About succeeded.

Although the hotel is a little outside the city centre, it is directly at a S-train/bus stop. Directly opposite is a bakery and a kiosk with good opening times. The hotel itself is modern and tastefully furnished. We had an apartment with refrigerator, dish and furniture. The beds and bathroom were modern and comfortable. Continue to be recommended without conditions.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Room was unusually large. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning which meant my room was like an oven. The staff kindly made available a large fan. Much appreciated. Breakfast was very nicely presented with a good choice but no fresh machine coffee was a shame. Lovely fresh orange juice. But... When I checked in I had distinctly said I needed to check out 1 day early. In clear German. No possibility of them not understanding this. When I tried to pay my bill the night before I was told I would have to pay the full amount. I was met with 4 members of staff talking at me telling me I was wrong. Well Boston Hotel. You are wrong! I confirmed with my booking agent (at midnight!) that I did indeed have a flexible booking and I am permitted to check out early. I had given 2 days notice. My booking agent will now be escalating this matter. I am looking forward to their response. I refuse to be intimidated into paying for something I have not had! After 30min of discussion and disagreement I was told to sleep on it and speak with the manager the next morning. I did this and was told again that I would have to pay the full amount. I knew I was in the right so I rang the police for advice who were excellent. They told me not to pay for something I have not received. I took the policeman's name and number. I informed reception that I will pay for the days I have been present and no more. Eventually the hotel agreed. I had been prepared to walk out without paying because they were making every excuse under the sun to force me to pay the full amount. The police said not paying would be ok provided I leave my details. But it would be a civil matter if I do not pay but I must leave my contact details. I was prepared to do this. Appreciate the friendliness of the young man at reception in comparison to the others! An exception. Of course, it is unlikely I will return to this hotel. Nevertheless, this is most likely an unfortunate individual experience. The hotel is nice, modern, comfortable and clean. Apart from the check out fiasco I would still recommend this hotel. Albeit extremely hot in summer! Be careful if you also need to check out early!

It was already my 5th time at the hotel this year, so I can say that the service is of a very constant factor. Check-in was again very smooth, and even though we checked in around noon, the rooms were already ready. Again I received a nice upgrade, and this room was also perfect. The rooms feel like you are coming home a little bit. The bathroom was also spacious and had a large walk-in shower. I had a great breakfast in the morning, and I can really recommend the chef who makes all different egg dishes, again a delicious omelet. Until next time.
