|2.7km from city centerWhat hurt the most was the fact that we had to exchange two RCI weeks of our own five-star resort to obtain one week in Hotel “Woe Be Gone.” It's beautifully nestled in a part of town that, let's just say, isn't going to make the top ten list of your tourist guide. You're certain to find no notable attractions in the vicinity. Our suite was like a minimalist dream. Think 'sp**** chic' with the chic missing, with a simple bed, two chairs, and a table that surely had its glory days in the 1980s. The kitchenette was an ode to improvisation, sporting a hotplate, a microwave, and a sink that's just large enough to bathe a hamster. And the crockery? Two mismatched glasses and bowls that were straight out of an abstract art exhibit - a true toast to our spirit of embracing uniqueness. The toilet, on the other hand, came with a charming little water feature – a constant trickle from the cistern that was just like being beside a babbling brook, minus the charm, tranquility or any sense of joy. Looking for a food store? Brush up on your Frogger skills because it’s twenty minutes and two hazardous highway crossings away. Oh, the on-site restaurant? More of a phantom eatery, really. It keeps the suspense by closing on weekends. However, their French espresso managed to shine - a lone beacon in an otherwise murky culinary landscape. Transport? No problem, if you're okay with parting with a modest sum of 30 euros every time you want to escape to town. In the end, we decided to vote ourselves off the island after two days, and instead took up the infinitely more delightful task of exploring Provence.

|0.5km from city centerThe location is really great...on a quiet street in pedestrian part of town adjacent to Place de Comedie, but only 3 minutes walk from the Garage de Comedie. So it was easy to get to after parking and so nicely situated that we didn't take our car out during the 3 days we stayed there. We could walk everywhere in Montpellier to enjoy the sites, and had many many restaurants to choose from in Place de Comedie. The room and everything in it were very nice, bed super comfortable, and helpful staff.

|2.68km from city centerHorrible service. This hotel charges you extra 150€ on check in without any reason. When we asked for any legal base for that, they couldn’t find anything and their only response was “pay or f… off”. The woman at the check-in showed us on the computer screen a part of a conversation with other customers WITH THEIR PRIVATE DATA in order to “prove” that other customers paid this 150€. In the end, she arbitrarily charged us 80€ (?), which so far has not been returned to our account. This hotel is a joke. AVOID.

|1.08km from city centerThe room was as spacious as advertised. Bed area separate from living area. Small bathroom but the good thing was WC and bathroom were separate. Compact but fairly well-equipped kitchen also completely separate from living area. Room was at the side of the building so only view was over a lane way, at least there was a nice balcony. Covered market over the road had pretty much everything needed for self-catering, including one of Montpellier's best wine stores. Close to CBD but not ideal for walking, fortunately the tram is right outside, frequent and inexpensive. Staff were quite good. But some simple requests weren't able to be met (eg. I asked for an extra pillow but there were none available). OK, but didn't feel quite as well looked after as we might have hoped.

|3.08km from city centerWe had ”slept” 3 nights in this hotel. The rooms really need to be refurbished. The bed was really not top, the bed was sounding as soon as we turned back, not very comfortable, The entrance door was grinding at every opening or closet, the BOF BOF bathroom, scalled shower etc ... the sliced soils, but the cleanness is present, you can see the work of the room women, which are very smile and nice. It's just that the equipment and furniture are old. The staff of the reception and breakfast are very sympathetic and smile too. We were welcomed well, really. And we thank them. Breakfast is very copyy, with a wide Choice. Thanks for this. For the staff, we will come back, for the rooms and bed, a little less.

|1.04km from city centerLocation was great, quiet area, 10 minute walk to train station and about 20 minute walk to Place de la comédie (the main square). Our room with double bed/bathroom was small but served our purpose well for a weekend stay (there are large lockers available on the ground floor where you can store things, just ask at Reception). Staff were helpful, friendly and genuinely interested in making our stay enjoyable. Breakfast buffet was exceptional, quality food, many homemade items - something for everyone. We ate in the restaurant several nights. Ambience is awesome and the service was always brilliant. Thank you JOSH for making our stay in Montpellier amazing, I hope we'll be back.

Montpellier
|0.68km from city centerI stayed at Montpellier's Appart'hotel Odalys Les Occitanes in October 2023. I loved so many things about the place. For example, the location is great, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the folks at the reception are friendly and very helpful. But I can't give the hotel a high rating because of one very important thing: Their front door is heavy and often stuck, making it difficult for most women to open it. Most men have no problem opening it. Take a moment and consider this problem. When you are traveling anywhere in the world, has it ever crossed your mind that the only entrance to the hotel may be impossible to enter because the door's too heavy? It's never crossed my mind. And it shouldn't. Entering your hotel easily is a pretty basic requirement of a hotel. After straining my back in trying to push the heavy door open, then having to stop a stranger on the street (to ask him to help me), I went to the reception to see if they could address the problem. Their hands were tied. Despite their sympathy, they could do nothing. Their only suggestion: Call us if you can't get in and someone will come to open it for you. Now take a moment to consider this: First, imagine you have travelled many hours to Montpellier, you arrive at night, you are jetlagged, and your phone doesn't work because you just landed and haven't had time to get a new SIM card. What are you supposed to do? I noticed to the left of the door, there is an intercom. But guess what? It's broken. Oh, and here's another issue. One night I returned to the hotel with another woman so together we could push the door open, but we noticed there was no one at reception. Probably had to attend to something else. So if that happens when you call, I guess you're out of luck. When I suggested a solution, ”Prop the door open,” I was told we can't do that for security reasons. So...any man from the street can push the door open but women cannot. So where's the security? And who is the security for? I want to stress that this problem is not caused by the wonderful people who work at the reception. They are frustrated as well by the door. It is the management of the hotel who needs to solve this problem. So for now, the Appart'Hotel Odalys is a great place for men but women beware.

|0.72km from city centerAs much as I am keen in giving a five star rating, I am rather disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, particularly the bathroom. I just arrived from BCN and went out dinner then returned to wash my face - as soon I had dried using their towels, it smelled like poop as it wasn’t cleaned properly & it still has dried feces on it. Not to mention toilet wasn’t cleaned properly as it have remaining feces is inside it. I had complained and had transferred me to a room that had similar condition. A lady came to inspect the room I decided to stayed in as I decided not be transferred but was told toilet cannot be cleaned the way I had requested, which is remove the hardened feces, as it was some sort of calcium deposit. Totally ridiculous. Anyhow, the reception was accommodating & seems genuinely nice,& location was good as it is centrally located - near the main train station in Montpellier.

|0.7km from city centerWe stayed here on a whim after rerouting our trip. We did not know much about the area, but wanted to be near the city center. Montpellier is a university town with a very vibrant college crowd. This hotel is an easy walk to the main sights in Montpellier and to some great restaurants. The room had a great layout, was very comfortable, and with the option of a decent breakfast offering. We had a car and parking was available on site, which was wonderful after some of the parking issues we had elsewhere. Would not hesitate to recommend.

|0.41km from city centerThe environmental score is low because-almost stolen before entering the hotel! Because self-driving cars have to park on the other side of the square (in fact, it’s only a 5-minute walk, but there is no elevator in the public parking lot, so you have to pick up the boxes from the underground by yourself), we have been out for more than ten days, two large boxes and two small boxes of luggage- Passing through the square should be too big a target, so unfortunately I was targeted-at the last moment when I entered the hotel door, the two female thieves went one after the other, and when I subconsciously turned back, the back hand was already touching my schoolbag...turning back When I checked in, I asked the front desk how the security was like this-he bluntly said that the place was very safe-the problem is that according to our observations over the next two days, it was a group of gypsies who usually occupies the intersection next to the hotel! Focus on tourists! Is it possible that the locals in the hotel can't not see? It didn't even explain anything that caught our attention! I regretted it for two nights-because of the accident that happened on the first day, we completely lost the idea of visiting the city-we drove out of the city

|0.55km from city centerCommunication with this hotel was good before arrival. We asked for a Superior double room on the first floor and this was provided for us. It was a large room with excellent air conditioning, comfortable large bed and pillows. Shower was excellent with hand rail for support. We were provided with two bottles of water on arrival, one bottle of water on the second day and nil bottles of water on the third day. Why? Toiletries that were used were nor replenished. Why? Tea bags that were used were not replenished. Why? The toilet area is separate to the bathroom area. You have to leave one room to go to another to wash your hands. The door to the toilet make a pretty awful creaking sound when opened and closed, disturbing my partners sleep at night. Housekeeping should be reporting these type of issues. The bathroom area has a glass wall. It does not give 100% privacy. When you switch on the light to wash your hands during the night, the whole bedroom lights up. The batteries for the remote control for the TV in our room were dead. Reception could not find any replacement until Daniel stepped in and gave us the ones from the reception remote. We found Daniel to be an excellent worker, tuned in to his customer needs. We were staying for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast offering never changed over the 3 mornings. It was pretty boring and we have had better. One staff member, a lady with bandana, took exception to me taking a tea spoon from a box on the counter, so I could stir my tea. I had used the one originally given to eat a yogurt. I felt like a school child. The same lady when cleaning off the breakfast tables would examine the cutlery to see if they had been used, if not she put them back on the table for the next person. Despite the above, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Reception staff were very pleasant. We liked the old world decor. The hotel is situated a few minutes from the train station.

|0.53km from city centerHotel location is very good, about 200 meters to the left of the building is polygone (there is Lafayette, monoprix supermarket and some other shops such as city sports, fnac, etc.), about 200m on the right is the square, some shops nearby, such as adidas original, in the city The center, clothing, food and shelter can be solved (but the convenience of France is not as convenient as domestic). The hotel is very clean, the room is not small, unlike the domestic one-off supplies, no slippers, take care not to slip, the TV only French. The front desk is on the -1 floor, and the individual has been walking the entrance and exit of the 0th floor. Maybe the other side - there is a main door on the 1st floor, no attention.

|1.59km from city centerThe meeting I attended in Montpellier was held at the city hall, Hotel de Ville, which is an impressive, vast, modern bulk in a booming concrete district south of the centre. Three minutes walk away is the Adagio Aparthotel, which is also close to tramways and therefore easily accessible from the city centre. I was very satisfied with the accommodation in a clean and well-equipped mini-apartment with fridge, cooker and a small dining table. The bed was comfortable and there were lots of shelves and cupboards as well as good lighting. However, a comfy chair to relax in would have been welcome. There's a lounge area on the ground floor where a good breakfast (including eggs, croissant and fresh fruit) is served. Although it is built and decorated in a slightly soulless style the Adagio was more than adequate for my two night stay.

|0.46km from city centerHad a great time despite the accident at the airport that made me tour France to arrive here. The staff accommodated my needs, and the room was just what I needed. Great buffet breakfast. The location is between (now under construction) Place de la Comédie (2 min by foot) and the Polygone center (2 min by foot with some steps), the train station or Gare, accessible by 7 min by foot to the right of the hotel. A tram stop is at the end of the street (climbing some steps). Would suggest some bins in corridor, next to the elevator, one more in the room, and the lack of a telephone makes it impossible to reach the reception in case of a guest disturbing you at night, when you are trying to sleep (noise, cigarette smoke).

|2.69km from city centerSix of us stayed here before and after a penichette cruise. It’s standard Ibis, at least adequate, although the ground floor corridor is dark, the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a tram stop a couple of minute’s walk away, from where all parts of the city can be reached. Breakfast was very good, apart from the hot water not being up to making British tea. The bar is nice, but we found the food rather disappointing the first night, my dish was far too salty, a poor choice perhaps. We ate out thereafter. The restaurant is shut on Mondays, and apart from L’Erreur there are only takeaways within walking distance. The public area at the front has desks with electricity points, which we found very useful while waiting before and after check-in. What really gives the place an advantage is how friendly and helpful the staff are, speaking good English: they printed out our boarding passes, summoned a taxi, suggested we have our rooms after checkout time until it arrived, etcetera.
