Reading reviews on TripAdvisor, I was expecting the worse but what a surprise! The room was large with 2 twin bed. Room looks like it has been recently refreshed with new wall paper and configuration. The shower was smallish but adequate and well stock with everything one's needs to start the day. There was hot bath facilities although not truly onsen as in the Japanese term. Breakfast was of good quality and adequate choice. Free coffee and gassy drinks near reception. For the price one's pay, you cannot ask for more. As I was there merely to enjoy the Sakura, I hardly stay in the room except to sleep so I am perfectly happy with this facility. I would recommend this to anyone on short stay or a business trip on a Budget.FromUS$41.00

The Hotel JAL City Miyazaki is located just on the edge of its central business area. its about a 10 to 15 minutes walk from the closest train station. It is quite close to restaurants and shopping. There is also a 24-hour supermarket very close by. The room size is a bit better than the standard Japanese hotel room. The hotel is about 15 years old (they are celebrating their 15th anniversary). The room design, decoration are bit aged. There is no safe in the room. The hotel also do not provide complimentary bottle water. I am not sure whether this is a common practice for hotels in Miyazaki or just this hotel. Service was quite good and the front desk really tries hard to please the customer. Unfortunately, the English competency of the front desk staff (or all staff for that matter) are quite poor. We have breakfast included in our room rate. The breakfast was OK with fairly limited selection of western food. There is also a Japanese section available too. The service was a bit passive as we have to ask for coffee refill each time. Overall, its not a bad hotel. May be our expectation is a bit high when compared with service levels of hotels in places as Tokyo.FromUS$49.00

After A friendly check- in I headed to my room, Nr. 407, a double bed at the end of the hall. The place is very new, very clean and very nicely done. The room is larger than most business hotel rooms and they have freed up even a bit more space by putting things like user guides, papers, etc. on the wall. The desk can be moved, so you could, for example, put your dinner on it and eat while watching TV. Nice touch, I have never seen that before. There are many mains pugs and USB charge points at the desk and at the bed, and a little shelf to put your phone on at night while it charges at the head of the bed. There’s a mini- fridge and an in- room safe, the latter uncommon in JP business hotels. The windows open, too. There’s not much of a view, but at least the window is not right next to another building, something that’s not uncommon. The bathroom was modern, had good amenities and the shower wand was excellent – best in class. The location is great. It is on a quiet side street off a busy road not too far from the main train station. But it is steps away from Machi Ichi, a covered shopping street, and scores of restaurants, bars, and “entertainment.” That’s a hard combination to beat. Breakfast was simple but good, and the breakfast area was bright and cheery. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful at every instance. Room is spacious in Japanese standard with an excellent view by the sea. Scenic spots at Miyazaki along the coast are within an hour's drive. There are 2 restaurants which offer buffet breakfast at your choice. Choice of food is many for the western-Japanese restaurant but not the Chinese-Japanese one. while the quality of food at both is exceptional. Location is a bit far away from city centre by walking distance. The spa is reasonably good, though not as close as we may expect from the main hall and also a bit difficult to locate. Hotel is thoughtful in offering warm outer jackets which you may use when walking to the hot bath as there are open areas. Overall a very pleasant stay for a family of three. We will definitely stay in the same hotel when travelling there again,

The hotel gave one a grand feeling upon entry - ample of space and the decoration was modern. The room was upgraded to the premier floor - 2 semi double beds Ocean View Room, very comfortable for two persons. The hotel is definitely constructed for a resort area providing varies type of out door activities. Unfortunately during my two nights stay was unable to enjoy the facilities because of the inclement weather. However would like to mention that could still enjoy the excellent dinner and breakfast and the hot spring bath. For those occupants leaving the hotel there were staff at the main entrance to provide towel and umbrella. This is commendable. On the whole had a good and comfortable stay plus all staff were polite and helpful. Will definitely return on next occasion.

The location of this hotel is so good. Downstairs is the bus station, train station and the office. Foreigners can buy a bus ticket for 1,500 yen a day downstairs. The room is quite large and has a sofa. Clean and good environment, surrounded by parks, science museums, etc.

Conveniently located <5mins from the station and 2mins from Aoshima island. I stayed in the mixed tatami dorm which was comfortable but without much privacy. The bed was good and warm but not too hot. However the hostel has a weird layout - the kitchen is only accessible via the bathroom or the dorm room, so anyone who wants to use the kitchen must go through the bedroom if the bathroom is in use - waking people up in the early morning. On my first night people were up talking loudly on the balcony outside until midnight which was a bit thoughtless. If I came back to Aoshima I would stay here again as it’s the cheapest place but I think it’s better to do a day trip from miyazaki
