We went over to Berlin to celebrate our anniversary as a family. Stayed for 3 nights and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel location is very good as you have restaurants and cafes all around the hotel within walking distance and right downstairs you have a huge supermarket to buy all your daily needs or like me shopping for great items to bring back home to try. The staff at the hotel are very nice and friendly. I want to say thank you to Guest Relation Manager Rika Hundrack for helping me arrange a special surprise for my husband to make our stay a little bit more special! We also went to the gym it is well equip. Rooms are a good size the kids (ages 14 and 11) enjoyed their privacy in the bunk beds room and us too. Just a tip will be nice to have a few more english channels or maybe have the option to change languages in some of the programs. Other than that i cannot think of anything else. As for those who are drive to Berlin there is hotel parking but also free parking outside the hotel just double check with staff which area its on the street where there is a fish cafe is located. Thanks again Mercure MOA Berlin.

We are happy to have discovered a&o Berlin Hbf. Its location that is easily accesible on foot enabled our budgeted trip to be affordable. The dorm rooms are spacious and fit our group well. The staff were friendly and kind. One felt welcome and at home away from home. The different games help also to kill time and encourage social interactions. The room prices are affordable and super for people travelling on a tight budget. The guest kitchen was a wonder! We have found accomodation for all our trips to Berlin! It's true that anyone can travel, if we have places like A&O!

Affordable luxury… I prefer to pay a bit more as the service was below standard. Amano has a cool concept. Sleek design at an affordable price. But the execution is bellow standard. Tips for the Amano group: 1- two pillows per guest is the minimum (you only have per guest) 2- the beds are way to hard (I love a hard bed but this was absurd. Its basically a matrass on a wooden plank. We had a though stay for this reason. Very unconfutable. The combination with having just one pillow each makes it user unfriendly. 3- make sure your staff delivers soap, shower cream etc. They do have it but forget to place it on the first night and the third night. We booked a total of two rooms, one room got lucky and got it 2 out of the 3 nights. The other room just one time out of the 3 nights. 4- Stop using single matrasses or at least make sure the beds are connected if booked a a double (in my case I woke up with a 30 CM gap in between the two beds. 5- make sure your trainees understand what guest service is. (please see comment about staff further bellow) Staff: Great all the way trough our 3 night stay. On checkout we had a lady come into the room while we were there to check our minibar (check-out day). All good. Once a came to the front desk to settle my bill the trainee at the front desk asked me what I used from the mini bar. I explained we did use the minibar but that we had a total of 2 rooms, stayed for 3 nights and my fellow travellers already left so I did not know exactly what we all used. I also explained that a lady did the mini bar check in our room so maybe she could get her details from her. She than made a hand gesture showing she was annoyed. I asked her if there was a problem. She responded “you should know what you used”. I again explained. She than asked me again: “did you use something or not” I again stated yes. She than continued, “so than what did you use”. I again explained that I did not know. She than printed my invoice and told me to sign. (all info on drinks was already on the invoice). At that moment I got annoyed and told her that I would expect her to treat me with a smile and ask us how our stay was. Even if a guest is doing something wrong she should treat the guest with respect and maintain some kind of a service level. She than asked me in a rude tone of voice: “so how was your stay”. I explained that in terms of service it was great until this unpleasant experience. She did not reply back. Were and wen did this take place: (Amano Grand Central, 11:20AM, October 1, 2018, she had dark hair).

Lovely clean modern hotel, across the road from the station, so brilliant for getting for u-bahn and subway to get around the city. TXL airport bus stops in front of the station and more or less in front of the hotel for the return journey to airport 2.90 euros each way, you can pay on the bus. Also trams right outside, but we found them a little slower than trains. Rooms are small but everything you need, tissues, body/hair wash, pencil paper and powerful hairdryer. Beds very comfy. Building work nearby, it was not a problem and there is so much building work going on in Berlin I think it would be hard to find a hotel without it nearby. Breakfast was great, everything you could want. Staff were always helpful, friendly and professional. Fast check-in/out. The hotel bar was reasonably priced. Our only problem was the rooms were warm at night and we could not seem to get our air-conditioning working, in fairness we never reported this and it might have been we were not switching it on properly. if we come back to Berlin I would definitely choose this hotel, for location, price and cleanness. A few restaurants nearby, one right next door, A food station open till 9pm in the station, also in the station would highly recommend Hans Im Gluck, we ate here twice. one-stop on subway and loads of restaurants

I booked 4 days in Berlin using Black Friday Discount for Easter, because of Covid-19 , I had to move the booking so Melia made me pay £110 more becuase the rates or I would lose the money already paid. I have been checking quite often the offers for this hotel on the website and I discovered that Melia have the 45% discocunt for Black Friday and for all year. There is not Black Friday Discount, is the discount they have all year. I paid a total of £120.00 per night, totally overpaid. I wasn't my option to change the booking, firstly I booked for Easter, but because of the lookdown I had to move the booking. Totally unfair the overcharge. One day it was raining we arrived at the hotel and we asked for a coffee in reception. The receptionist told us that the bar was closed, so we went to the next hotel (Titanic Hotel) where we had our coffee. No Sauna or Gym because of Covid-19. The room was fine, just soap in the bathroom, poor room for the price I've paid. The breakfast was poor, not so many options, the last day no eggs available. The worst experience of my life. Horrible. Melia is not going to have me as a client anymore.

Just wanted to say thanks to the Apple hotel staff for a pleasant stay: I quickly checked in and got the keys as soon as arrived, my room stayed clean and fresh all three days, I got plenty of fresh towels every morning, same as my sheets been changed every day. The only bad thing I have to admit is the size of the bathroom, it's so tiny and even being skinny I was struggling to take a shower. Hotel has a very good location. You have 3 direct buses: to Tiegel, to the Central Station and Alexanderplatz. S-bah is just in front of the hotel as well. Perfect for people who came to Berlin for sightseeing as from this location you can easily and quickly get to the all famous places. I had no problem to find a food as there are few restaurants around and a plenty of small coffee shops with German pastry. You can ask for a breakfast in a hotel for 8 euros a day. Room was small as well but I had a cosy double bed, TV and a hairdryer. I would say typical city hotel. Might come back if I will go to Berlin again.

Hotel is clean, located near to the big train station and therefore it was easy to get everywhere from there. Nice breakfast with several choices of bread, cheese etc, nothing warm to eat like porridge or fried eggs. Coffee is okey but not great. Family rooms have kettle on the picture which we did not have in our room, also we didn't have fridge which my parents had in their double room. No air conditioner. Bar downstairs is a very nice thing to have. Can have coffee or beer whenever you like. Reception was very helpful and nice. Overall we liked our stay very much there.

This boutique hotel on the banks of the Spree River, is a true hidden find for those visiting Berlin! The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious, the bathrooms are luxurious, featuring a full size bathtub and a separate shower area, and the morning breakfast is a treat. Full size operating windows offer a great view of the River, as well as great ventilation. Transportation into the city center is easy, by foot, bus or train. Staff is friendly and always willing to help. Prices are very reasonable for this level of hotel. A great hotel I can wholeheartedly recommend!

I contacted AC Hotels about wanting to make my anniversary celebration special from the moment we arrived, as well as ask for recommendations on where to eat, what to see and so on. The girls at the front desk Carina Remes and Izabela Chrobak were extremely helpful, they gave me recommendations, organised roses and chocolates for the room, and in general were such exceptional host. Nicoleta Bujicu, the food and beverage manager, personally organised Prosecco for the room and ensured our breakfast and stay was a delight. The hotel in general is very pretty, a chic and simplistic design through out (with some landscape art pieces). It is clean, the breakfast is fresh and it is located just minutes away from the U and S trains, allowing us to travel to our various interest and recommendations within minutes. Thanks again Carina, Nicoleta and Izabela, for making our stay so memorable, we shall be back. Best wishes for 2020 Christina & Leah

Hotel indeed looks like on official pictures and has a great location. Check in was flexible and fast. Be aware you need to pay deposit, we overlooked this information. Bedroom and bathroom were nice, but the shower preasure is really bad (at least in our room, number 606). Breakfast is lovely, tables are beautifully set, plenty of choice, good service. Restaurant "Pascarella" is amazing, beautiful looking, nice music in the background, lovely service (at least 1st day, 2nd day, different people, not that good) and most important, food is amazing, everything was exceptional. Bar "Charlotte" is nice but the service is way to slow considering there was only few people in it. Spa area, pool, massages, all of that was fantastic. One more thing, we've noticed group of Turkish men (gang looking) all the time in the hotel, bar area, lobby area, in front of the hotel, loudly discussing all the time, I don't know, it just gives this feeling of suspicious business going on around/in the hotel.

Tiergarten
Breakfast is okay, but it is still more monotonous than the domestic hotel. The location is very good, the entrance is the Potsdamer Platz, there is also a subway station, the Brandenburg Gate, the Parliament Building, the Berlin Shopping Center are very close, and there is a Mobai at the door, very convenient. There are also other companies sharing bicycles with children's seats, but the QR code can't be scanned. I don't know how to use them, but the hotel has a bicycle with a child seat for rent, 30 euros a day, 15 euros a day. To the northwest of the hotel is a large Tiergarten park, which is in a good environment with trees, grass and water.

Stayed here back in December last year, for a long weekend for the christmas markets before all the covid stuff had kicked off. We had hoped to return this year but due to the ongoing pandemic, its probably going to be 2022 now. The hotel is located in the East of the city. We flew in Tegel and found it a long , inconvenient journey but our return flight wasout of SXF which was much more convenient so the hotel will be pretty convenient for the new Berlin airport which opens soon. The lobby was spacious, trendy and contemporary as were the guest rooms. Our room was quiet though 2 of the lads we were travelling with had rooms overlooking a trainline, so request rooms away from trains. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and we slept well . Everything felt very clean. We booked a hotel with spa facilities so had been expecting an indoor pool! disappointed that there was not one in the hotel however they did have a really relaxing spa area that had a hot whirlpool aswell as the usual saunas , so that was a nice way to chill out in the evenings after a long, cold day in Berlin! Please note however, its strictly trunks off. You have to use the area completely naked , which they say is for hygiene reasons. Although this was a little out of my comfort zone it did not detract us from enjoying the facility, I felt more embarrassed about my friends who i was travelling with having to see me naked though since we were sharing rooms we all owned up to sleeping naked anyway which no longer made it a big deal but for some guests particularly ladies it might be out of your comfort zone, so just making you aware, as its a mixed sex facility though was mainly men the two occasions that we used it which made it a little less awkward!. Breakfast was an extensive buffet which is free and had a great selection of hot and cold food that we thought was above average for a hotel buffet. Its very accesible for getting into alexanderplatz on the tram. Berlin is one of our favorate European cities, its cool, quirky and there is so much to see and do at anytime of the year. This is a great hotel and we look forward to another long weekend once all this horrible covid stuff is over. Staying safe and positive for now because we know that one day we will travel again!!!

Our room on the 13th floor was standard category. Spartan in decor, purely functional in layout, the room was clean, the tv worked and it had a minibar plus good view . No tea or coffee making facilities but that might just be a Radisson feature. However, when I needed help in checking in on line for a flight home, the wonderful lady at the Customer Relations desk was just amazing. I never established her name, but think her surname was 'Williti'. She is absolutely a gem and patiently managed to get us check-in with EasyJet, and printed out our boarding cards. Thank you so much. My wife and I were then treated to a trip to the 37th floor to enjoy the magnificent views. It was a very kind gesture and one we won't forget. I hope Radisson Alexanderplatz management appreciate they have a star on their team.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a city break. The hotel itself was ok, it was clean it was functional without being anything special. It was a little dull is how I would describe it without anything being really wrong. The staff were fine without being friendly. The lobby is poorly planned and the staff are locked away being big columns which are terribly placed. Two criticisms, one was that the lift was out of order and hence left one lift to cater for 4 floors and during Covid times the lift was always busy and long waits were standard. The second was that the bathroom had a glass panel from the room which let light in but overlooked the toilet and I thought it a little inappropriate that someone in the room could easily watch you doing a number 2 the other side of the glass. Not ideal. For these two reasons I gave it a 3 out of 5. Poorly designed. But the location was 10/10. 100m from Checkpoint Charlie and the Topography of Terrors. Lovely pub opposite side of the road.

We had a lovely stay. The rooms were stylish and very clean and quiet. The only thing missing was a tea/coffee making facility. We were impressed with the environmentally sensitive touches. We were happy to pass on the room service each day and were rewarded with a drink voucher each day. We used these for a delicious hot chocolate at bedtime on our last night. The breakfast selection was varied and of good quality. So much choice you couldn't fail to find things you wanted and there were plenty of healthy options. Our favourite was the automatic pancake maker. Gluten free options are available. There were plenty of tables and the restauraunt staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. We purchased our travel day ticket each day from the reception (validate it as you get on the tram each day). The hotel is well located to access the transport system and we used the trams, underground, rural train system and buses using our ticket. We would definitely stay again. The only reason we are not awarding 5 stars is the lack of tea/ coffee making facilities. Thank you for making our time so enjoyable.

The Riu Plaza is a 4-star place owned by the Spanish Riu chain, obviously aimed primarily at business and conference people. But it's a good place to stay for holidaymakers too. - Very well located in Schöneberg, 150 metres from Wittenbergplatz (and a little further to Nollendorfplatz in the other direction), so pretty easy access on the U-bahn to almost everywhere, and only 1 stop from Zoo Garden terminal for airport buses. - large, airy rooms, with good views (we were on 16th floor), comfortable bed, excellent and spacious shower and good bathroom in general, fast lifts - a good bar, with friendly bar and wait staff, and not overpriced, just off the reception desk area - generally friendly and efficient front desk staff (but see further on) - not expensive, at least in winter; we paid only just over 100 euros a night, which is good value Its flaws are minimal, but...: - Breakfast is too expensive. Sure, it has all the usual breakfast buffet stuff, but it significantly adds to the cost of the holiday to cough up 19 euros pp each day (we stayed 4 nights). Having just come from an excellent central hotel in Lisbon, where we had an excellent breakfast for 12 euros pp each morning, it seemed excessive, so we settled for a nearby cafe each day. - Make sure you put the 'do not disturb' sign on your door each day if you don't want to get up early. The first day we were there, Monday, having arrived in Berlin at half past midnight, we were woken up at 8.45 am by a cleaner banging on the door. Happened again at the same time a couple of days later when we forgot to put the sign out. Sorry, when you're staying for 4 days, there's no reason to clean the room that early - and I blame the management, not the cleaners, who just do what they're told. - Some of the staff are a little slapdash. E.g., the kettle in our room had been ruined by an idiot previous occupant trying to use it as a coffee perculator, so there was a baked-on layer of coffee on the bottom of it. On our way out the next morning, we took it down to the front desk - the guy there actually asked us to take it back up to our room on the 16th floor, and assured us it would be replaced by the cleaners. When we returned from sightseeing 6 hours later, guess what - the ruined kettle was still there in our room. Fail! I know this is a 1st-world problem, but the original front desk guy should have just taken the kettle and organised to get it replaced. When we took it down again, this time the woman on the front desk took it from us, and a short time later a new kettle was in our room. I don't want to criticise the place too much, as it was pretty good overall and we'd stay there again. But it felt a little impersonal, and while most of the staff were excellent, some were not well-trained or motivated enough to deal properly with issues, relatively minor though our's were. Thus, it gets 4 stars, not 5.
