Epsom Town Staff Premier staff are the best. I booked prior to Covid-19 & yes silly me I forgot, then double booked and had a no show. Epsom Town Centre Staff once I was able explain reason for no show I was listened to me and understood what happened and happily accommodated me. They truly appreciate their customers. I stay There regularly or room is always welcoming & clean. Staff are happy to help. Special thanks to the Deputy Manager Nayra

Note: review written for a stay before 15th Feb, before the new quarantine laws came into effect. I booked for my partner to stay in the hotel for self-isolation. The government guidance document states that temporary accommodation or hotels should be used for self-isolation if required, and that’s why I booked this. I have always found the rooms at Premier Inn Epsom Central to be wonderfully big and always very comfortable! My partner reports that this standard of the rooms was maintained for his visit (room would get 5 stars). However, when I made the booking and was asked to explain the reason for this booking, the receptionist appeared very upset that we had chosen the hotel for self isolation and in my opinion was unprofessional and discriminatory. The receptionist asked which country my partner was returning from and as soon as I said South Africa, the entire tone of the conversation changed. I understand that everyone is very nervous in the pandemic and hotels need to ask a variety of questions. We were entirely forthcoming and willing to provide all required information, but the way in which questions were asked and information was obtained felt entirely inappropriate. There is no need to be rude on the telephone to a customer who had been following the government guidance and rules. The receptionist asked questions in a manner that let her personal (negative) views be heard loud and clear. For example: Receptionist question: “I mean, why is he even coming to this country?” What I believe the question should be: “What is the passengers purpose for returning to the UK?”. In an exasperated and distressed tone the receptionist also asked: “does he have the paperwork for this?” I believe the hotel should be fully aware of the rules and regulations surrounding travel to and from the country. Including the fact that you do not actually have hard “paperwork”. The passenger locator form was indeed completed with the hotels address as required. The QR code could easily have been provided. This is just one instance of many within the call, where this individual made me feel completely alienated. Such a change in attitude and wording can really make a huge impact. I left the call feeling very upset. As a British citizen and resident, my partner was simply returning home. Unfortunately he could not isolate at our home with me because I am an essential worker at a hospital. Knowing the untoward attitude towards him, my partner felt uncomfortable entering the hotel. I believe that this type of communication is unacceptable. In a professional context, personal ideals and thoughts need to kept private or taken up with internal management- NOT directly with your clients. If these types of stays are unwelcome in your hotel, please draw up an internal policy and post this visibly on your website so that future customers can avoid such unpleasant situations. We stayed at the Hampton by Hilton for the Scottish Oct week. It was very clean, I was apprehensive of how hotels were during Covid-19 and had read a lot of reviews for where to stay in Blackpool based on since when COVID-19 started and the Hampton by Hilton got some of the best reviews and it far surpassed my expectations. From check in the place was very clean, all staff were wearing masks, they explained that daily cleaning service had been suspended but if you wanted your room cleaned that day you just needed to say, or if you needed new towels or toilet roll they could give it to you at reception, which is great as it limits human interaction. Dinner: we ended up eating dinner there three of the four nights as I found a lot of places were crowded whilst they had us well spread out and ensured ppl had masks on whilst moving around. The food was nice if a small menu, the staff were great very friendly and helpful. Room: we stayed in room 304 and it is at the back of the hotel partially overlooking the carpark and partial sea view, it was two king sized beds which were really comfortable and we slept well, it had lots of charging points which in this day of electronics was great. I think it could benefit from a wee shelf on the side nearest the window as there was a table on my side and on the other side of the other bed. It has a heating and cooling system and a good shower but doesn’t have a hairdryer in the room so remember to take your own. Breakfast: was well organised and really tasty. There was a great selection of both hot and cold items, coffee and tea there was even chocolate or strawberry milk for the children. The staff were very vigilant and challenged a couple of lads who had come down to breakfast without masks or lanyards to say they didn’t need to for medical reasons, they came back down with masks. Location: the tram station is across the road but it is easily walkable to get to both the south and central pier, pleasurebeach is about a five minute walk whilst the south pier is maybe about ten minutes depending on if the wind is hitting you. There is also lots of hand gel located throughout the hotel which was good. Overall if I was coming back to Blackpool I’d definitely recommend/stay at this hotel again, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate and well thought out, it was a good location and breakfast was tasty. Thank you for making our family stay enjoyable, my daughter had never been to Blackpool and I hadn’t been since I was three which wasn’t yesterday!

I stayed here and you certainly get what you pay for. Room was basic but clean and all you needed to rest your head for a night. I unfortunately left my headphones at the hotel and was distraught when I found out as I live 3 hours away, however the manager was more than accommodating and sent them back via an envelope I sent them and I could not be more thankful. It may not seem like a lot, but my headphones are needed for my everyday so when they arrived back safely I was overjoyed. Nothing is too much for the manager, really nice and would recommend staying again! Thank you so so much.

We stayed here overnight as going out with friends. There was a derby match on with Fleetwood so bar filled up pretty quickly after the game. But what a fab atmosphere. There was a lovely gentleman that greeted us on arrival & advised the car park was full up but gave us a free voucher to park at Travelodge. There was no places at the time but after 15 mins wait we secured a parking place. Said gentleman (concierge) is by far a massive asset to the hotel. Our room was lovely & view spectacular, everything you needed for a night away plus more. We went into the bar fir some lunch & although it seemed to take ages it was well worth the wait. We were very late getting back 3.30am (dirty stop outs) but were greeted so warmly on our return & had a chat & laugh with security. Breakfast this morning was amazing, only down fall was no black pudding & fried eggs a little sad but the scrambled eggs were as light as a feather. I burnt the toast & set fire to it (my fault) but the staff just laughed, very nicely & sorted it. Check out as check in was as smoith as ever & lots of chat. We will definitely return as quite simply, the whole experience was a poor joy

This is a tremendous place to stay if you want to enjoy Blackpool. Number One is located on South Beach close to where the illuminations start. This means being an easy walk from the tram stop that gives easy access to the whole of Blackpool (for a £5 a day hop on hop off ticket). The trams run back until around midnight. A taxi to the Tower is about £7.50 if you prefer. And if you want to walk this is just as easy and completely free... There are dedicated parking spaces and plenty of on road free spaces that are free and safe. Number one has a tremendous welcome - the two girls that greet you, escort you personally to your room to go through the facilities and look after you at the well stocked bar are friendly, happy and helpful. The help, generosity and welcome is extended by Mark who was able to provide first class recommendations for restaurants and shows (we took up the recommendation to see Kinky Boots which was exceptional) and he was kind enough to provide a discount code for the Winter Garden. What strikes you when visiting is the quality of the decor, fixtures and furniture throughout Number One. The owners take great pride in their property and it shows. It’s modern, funky, clean and bright. The rooms are all well appointed, clean and well maintained. We had number 12 on the third floor. This is serviced by a lift or staircase. The sea view is good and the room boasts tv, whirlpool bath, shower, remotes for lighting, small balcony, seating area and comfy bed. The box of nick nacks that could be little essentials in the wardrobe is a super touch. The bar area is a generous social area and the range of drinks wide and various. Service is until 11:00pm after which time and honesty bar works if you want a night cap or longer chatting. Breakfast selections are made the evening before to save wastefulness and works really well. It’s a wide menu along with a buffet for fruit, cereals etc. The quality of what Mark cooks is exceptional. The fresh orange is a must. It can be cold in Blackpool but Number 1 can be really hot... Number 1 is a credit to the owners and staff. An award winner. And one of our favourites from our travels - no mean feat.

I booked online to stay at the Las Palmas hotel for 3 nights. I then received a phone call about an hour later informing me they had to close the hotel for ‘technical issues’ however they would put us in their sister hotel The Royal Windsor instead which was like for like. When we arrived to the location it was nothing like the pictures I had seen for Las Palmas and certainly was nothing ‘Royal’ about it. We checked in and found out there was an additional £10 per night for the dog and an additional £5 a night for car parking. I had seen online about paying extra for pets however not for parking. Anyway I paid this and the full amount for the room for 3 nights. We did not get to park our car in the car park that night as it was full so we had to park elsewhere even though we had paid. Our hotel room was tiny. The lights were flickering and everywhere smelt of cigarettes and smoking from the rooms.Myself and my husband hardly slept a wink due to the amount of noise from downstairs ‘entertainment’ and the noise, arguing, shouting, banging etc from guests. Again we wasn’t informed of entertainment in the hotel when we was changed over. The next day I spoke to a lady on reception and complained and explained we wanted to leave and didn’t want to stay there. Miraculously Las Palmas hotel was then avaible and they would move us over to there as they didn’t have many guests or any entertainment etc so would be a lot quieter and more suited to us. We arrived, the lady on reception was absolutely lovely and even let me choose between 2 rooms. The hotel itself was a lot nicer, the room was a bit bigger so we were happy. However the noise again kept us up until gone 2am. I went and spoke to the same lady on the desk in the morning and said we where leaving to go home and not staying for our third night as we were knackered and I am 3 months pregnant so I need to rest and sleep. Again she was lovely and very uunderstandable and gave me the telephone number to speak with the manager. I later phoned and spoke with the manager who was VERY rude and questioned everything I said and said I should of done something about it at 2am in the morning. I explained I didn’t fancy going downstairs at 2am in my Pj’s etc but I did take recordings of the noise which I would happily email across. I said I Would at least like my money back for the car park that we had not used the first night and for the third night I had paid for staying but we was not then using... he consistently said this isn’t something they do. Refund. I asked why we had been moved to the royal Windsor in the first place after booking online and he couldn’t give me an answer for this also. The ‘manager’ then hung up the phone on me twice. Not very professional. I asked to speak to someone higher or who owned the hotel in order to sort this but the ‘manager’ would not give me any details or tell me anyone I could speak with in regards to this as he is the one who deals with everything and he doesn’t give

It is tired, and needs some investment, it needs someone to love it and to make it good. It’s a big place, and for whatever reason, has been left to fall apart. However, the man that checked us in was very helpful. We had 2 prams, helped up in and out on several occasions. We were only here for 1 night, and paid £92.00 for a family room. Which at the time of booking was cheap, I always read reviews before booking and decided to book anyway, giving them approx 5 months to get stuff sorted..,..they haven’t. It’s still getting the bad reviews that it deserves. They had there settings with booking.com set so you couldn’t change or cancel. Or you would be charged anyway. So when I’ve re read their reviews a month ago, I couldn’t cancel. Or I’d of lost the money. So for that reason, if your reading this before booking, check everywhere else first. Make this your absolute last resort. It is dirty, dusty window sills, stained carpets, it’s stuff that if you was running a hotel properly shouldn’t have. It’s run badly no doubt about that. Good points... .it’s close to the tram stop.. Lonsdale car park is about a 5 min walk away....£12.00 for 24 hours. It’s close to the beach, centrally located. Really sorry there is nothing good about the hotel itself. Oh yea 1 our beds were clean. 😀 the only reason we stayed.

Arrived and were welcomed by Veronica and Bob, both wonderful and friendly people. Taken to room on top floor as requested, clean, tidy and wonderful room, only downside is I'm What one would call large and the gap between the toilet and sink is small but I squeezed through lol Shower worked well, bathroom although small was wonderfully clean, I'd even go as far as to say pristine! No noise at all virtually at any time but night times are silent and peaceful, breakfast is amazing, full English with toast, conserves and butter, coffee or tea, cereals, fruit and fresh orange the works! The hot breakfast was cooked to perfection and tasted brilliant a definite 10/10 on that side of things! The dining room is immaculate and Veronica and Bob are careful to protect from covid, the tables are covered after they are cleaned with plastic sheets to make sure nothing can deposit on them when people walk past etc.... Wanted to stay another night and Bob not only worked around other clients he even gave me a small discount too! I'd highly recommended this small, cosy hotel, away from the main strip but a 3 minute walk to the tram stop, the owners are friendly, helpful and make a stunning breakfast! Extra duvets on wardrobe in case you need them. Both Bob and Veronica will.help you What ever your needs, amazing couple x Don't hesitate to book here!

Fantastic stay here at Premier Blackpool Beach. My wife and I arrived early in Blackpool with intention to enjoy the rest of the day while our rooms were got ready. Ben logged our car as being in the company’s carpark and off we went. We arrived back at 3pm and again the ever efficient Ben checked us in and offered to book our meals up at the nearby Brewers fayre. He was helpful throughout our 2 night stay. Premiers South is a steady 15mins walk to the front, we could see the tower from the premiers carpark. The room was very clean and I do find the standard a cut above its near brand competitors. Bathroom look recently refurbished. Smart TV good quality with WIFI but if you plug in your Fire- stick you have to upgrade the free Wi-Fi to Ultimate, which is extra. We had a meal at the brewer’s next door. It was “OK”….. I suppose on par with what I paid. Staff are the best part as service was very good. Blackpool Illuminations were something else as was the famous Blackpool Tower. We would due to the friendly staff, stay here again at a drop to enjoy this fantastic English seaside town. It was very busy in the town, but we managed to steer clear of hot spots in these trying times and with precautions in place thoroughly enjoy ourselves. I understand Premier is redeveloping an Art deco building in the town centre, I will be watching out for that to try!

My partner and I made a last minute decision to stay in and booked the Ruskin Hotel and we are so glad we did. We were both overwhelmed with how lovely the staff were and could not be happier with our stay. I am not usually one to write reviews but I just cannot believe the level of service at the Ruskin and want more people to know about the Ruskin so they can enjoy it like we did! Within our first day we felt part of a community and we really were so well looked after. We went all inclusive and I wouldn’t do it any other way when we go back. You get breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as soft drinks, hot drinks and selected alcoholic drinks. The food was incredible which given the price we was really surprised about. Although the alcoholic drinks are only certain drinks it covers your regular spirits, red/white/rose and an in-house larger that my partner said was really nice so you won’t go without. The room we stayed in was the king premier room and it was ideal for our 4 night stay. Modern, very spacious, comfortable and clean. There was also nightly entertainment. Singing, bingo, and even an in-house comedian who was brilliant! Despite all the staff being amazing we would like to give a special mention to Lesley and Gary in the bar to the right of reception And Enzo, the catering Manager. Lesley, was the most welcoming, kind natured woman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting whilst in a hospitality capacity. Lesley was always making sure we had food and drink flowing as well as showing a genuine interest to my partner and I. Gary, was very much the same. Extremely welcoming and attentive. We later found out from another staff member that Gary was the director of the hotel which really shocked us given how hands on and helpful he is. That is not to say that hotel directors aren’t usually lovely people, but you don’t usually see them so involved and so interested in their residents. And finally the lovely Enzo, from the moment we had our first meal Enzo was attentive and regularly checking in to make sure we were happy with the food and the service. Really lovely man who works very hard to ensure all guests are happy with their dining experience. Would highly recommend to all age groups! My partner and I are mid twenties but there were guests ranging from children to 80’s and all were equally enjoying themselves.

Went with friends for the wife’s birthday, we arrived earlier than check in time, but this was not a problem for the owner, nice quick check in and a quick tour of the facilities. Bar prices very reasonable, had a good chat with the owner, friendly and good banter. Hotel rooms were spot on, we had room 4 which was right up the first flight of stairs - clean and tidy and really exceptional for the room price. Hotel is close to Ma Kelly’s etc - All within walking distance. Returning back after the being on the town, the hotel had a good atmosphere at the bar with decent music - and again a nice break from the expensive drinks in town! Didn’t manage breakfast as we had to dash to escape storm Ciara. Thanks for having us!!

When we arrived at Pelham Lodge we where greeted by a lovely gentleman (Jorge) who showed us where to park and then to our room. The twin room was quite small but fully functional. Tea and coffee facilities, hair dryer, tv, tower fan (in the wardrobe). The clock on the bedside table was also a docking station with 6 USB ports which was very useful. Plenty of plug sockets around the room. The lighting was also very good. The bathroom again was small but fully functional (towels and complimentary toiletries included). The beds where very comfortable (we took our own pillow). The whole place was very clean and well maintained. The staff where all very friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs. Breakfast was beautiful. The waiting on staff again where very attentive to our needs. I highly recommend Pelham Lodge and we will definitely see you next year. Pelham Lodge is very close to funny girls but on a quiet road.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was lovely and spotlessly clean and the breakfast was excellent , very good choice from continental to full English. Right on the sea front and no issue with traffic noise. Bedroom had everything you needed and was exactly as described when booking. There is a bar and room to relax nearby. There is a no smoking policy as you would expect, this also included e cigs which wasnt mentioned during booking or in policies. Wasn't made clear until arrival. Not an issue for us but may be for others . On the whole we loved our stay and would recommend without hesitation.
