I can not emphasise more about how helpful and caring the Antonio family was during our visit to Scicli. Especially they treated us as their family when my mother was ill during the visit by cooking a homemade soup and taken us to see the doctor. We are overwhelmed by the friendliness and helpfulness that the Antonio family brought to us, thank you so much. in terms of the actual property, it was a nice place to stay in. The rooms were very clean and the location of the property was so centred which you can visit the town on foot. If you and your family fancy a trip to other towns, e.g. Sampieri, Modica etc, there is a train station which can take you there with a short walk from the property. The Antonio family offers free Sicilian pastries, which are so tasty and if you lucky enough to rent his property, you MUST TRY. Again, thank you so much Antonio and your caring family, we have left a wonderful memory with you and we fell in love with Scicli because of you. We would definitely recommend the town, especially the hospitality of Casa Aruci Sweet Home.

We stayed here for 12 days from the end of September. We chose Scicli as we prefer the slow pace of smaller towns,. We are also fans of Inspector Montelbano, this is what bought our attention to Scicli initially. Massimo our host came to meet us at Catania airport and we had a very comfortable 90 mins drive to Scicli. I was rather daunted by the 82 steps up to our apartment, but I became used to them - and they probably did my fitness a big favour!! This was much more than a B and B room - as there was also a small room with excellent kitchen facilities..and a barbecue outside. The bed was really comfortable, the air conditioning worked well (it was needed even in October). An excellent cleaner came every other day to change the bed linen and towels. Breakfast was provided every morning at a nearby cafe, where we enjoyed various toasties, cakes and pastries and as a special treat the best almond granita and warm brioche we had during our holiday. Massimo our cheerful, kind hearted host was in regular contact to ensure that all was well. He took us to a car hire garage a few miles outside of town, arranged a super visit to a farm for a meal of their own produced ricotta cheese and meats, arranged an excellent guide - Roberto who brought the history of Scicli to life. All Massmios suggestions proved worthwhile. It really was like having your very own personal travel rep who knew everybody and everything about his town and the surrounding area.. Grazie mille Massimo

Watching the Montalbano fictions I marvelled at how many beautiful residences are in Scicli and Ragusa Ibra (both shown as Vigata in the movies). I thought Sicily was poor, but I discovered how rich in culture, architecture and landscapes it is. And, of course, how welcoming Sicilians are. This was confirmed by how kind and welcoming were the personnel of this very beautiful boutique hotel. It is an Albergo Diffuso with rooms in various buildings. Our room was in the exquisite Palazzo Montalbano, with beautiful antique furniture, large modern bathroom and all you can expect in a luxury environment. Breakfast, also excellent, is downstairs a café located opposite the offices of Commissario Montalbano…..in reality the offices of the Mayor of Scicli, which are worth a visit.

A lot of research on TA led me to book this B&B for our 4 day visit to South East Sicily and I was very happy pleased with my choice. We arrived a bit late due to flight delays and getting tangled up in some very narrow streets. (In Scicli stick to the main roads whatever the SatNav says!) There was no one at Casa di Pam but Alessandro responded quickly when we phoned one of the numbers given. The B&B is in a quiet narrow street and is actually only 5-10 minutes on foot from the old centre of the town which gets nicely busy on a summer evening. Alessandro gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner (good enough for us to return again twice) and he also helped us to find a parking spot – this can be a bit of a problem, but we did manage to find somewhere nearby each evening. Casa di Pam is a simple unpretentious place but has everything you need. Our room was a reasonable size with comfortable beds and a smallish bathroom, but there was a fridge and good internet, the shower was hot and everything was very clean and well looked after. Although we were so close to the town centre it was generally quiet at night. Be aware that there are quite a lot of stairs up to the rooms. I had seen some comments about the breakfast, but we found it really good. There were croissants, fresh bread rolls, cheese and ham, lovely homemade jams (lemon especially good) and plenty of good coffee. You could finish up with homemade cake or crostata (fig very good). If all tables were occupied I imagine it would be a bit crowded, but that wasn’t the case for us and I doubt it would often happen. Pam and her helpers were always cheerful and helpful and made us feel at home. If we did return to this part of Sicily we would certainly stay again in this beautiful town and at this friendly and comfortable B&B.

We were 4 in an apartment ("maisonette"), there is a double bed plus a single bed in a loft upstairs, plus a double sofa bed downstairs with the bathroom and small kitchen. Two A/C units, one in the loft and one downstairs. Parking was free but off site. Excellent location and staff. We were 4 in a modern apartment ("maisonette"), separate from the main hotel, and without its old-world charm. There is a double bed plus a single bed in a loft upstairs, plus a double sofa bed downstairs with the bathroom and small kitchen. Two A/C units, one in the loft and one downstairs. There are only clerestory windows so no view. Parking was free but off site (street parking), on our one day stay in late June we didn't have trouble finding parking. Scicli is a small and lovely town, and nothing is far from the hotel. However the hotel should supply information on how to get there in advance. Scicli has a ZTL but it is OK to pull up to the front door to unload luggage. We didn't know that and wasted time working around that. Driving in town can be affected by filming for the Inspector Montalbano TV series (road closures). Breakfast was typical Sicilian, i.e. lots of sweets, and cheese, yogurt, and cold meat slices for protein, no eggs.
