We stayed here for one night whilst visiting Corsica The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the train station. If you are driving or coming by taxi, you won't be able to drive up to the front door as it's on a pedestrian steet The hotel is superbly situated. It's right in the heart of the Old Town by the shops, two minutes from the harbour and 5 minutes from the citadelle. The beach is less than a 10 minute walk away. The staff greeted us in a friendly manner and showed us up to our room. The room was quite large and brightly decorated and very clean with a view over the back street and up towards the citadelle. We were advised of free WiFi but no matter how many vouchers we tried we couldn't connect. When we raised this at reception we were told that it was because we had Samsung phones and they weren't compatible with their WiFi. When 50% of phones sold around the world are Samsung, this just isn't acceptable so needs to be rectified. But apart from this inconvenience, the hotel was of a good standard, clean and tidy with helpful staff. But it's main plus point is it's excellent location and reasonable prices.

Before booking I'd read about the fact that you had to go through the restaurant to get to some rooms, and indeed this was the case for our room - a family suite, but I hadn't expected to have to ask customers to move chairs and to duck under plants to access the room. Having got into the room there was an unexpected extra, a small self-contained kitchen with a full size fridge. Although there was no kettle there were some pans, so we went out and bought some milk, as we had some filter coffee and a travel cafetiere with us. This enabled us to make hot drinks. However after returning on our second day we discovered that the electricity supply had been cut off to all the kitchen facilities - including the fridge. Also on arrival we discovered that whilst there was a safe in the room, it didn't work. Eventually, after some language issues, I was able to borrow the manual for the safe. As it still didn't work, the hotel let me use the master key - which meant I could lock the safe without using the combination lock. Despite everyone been friendly to us, you were left with the impression that the priority is the restaurant which has some rooms attached - rather than a hotel. We did discover there was a reception desk upstairs above the restaurant, but it was rarely manned - and even then not always by anyone who spoke English. A few issues which did take away from our otherwise delightful stay in Calvi.

We booked into this hotel with the intention to stay a fewof days. Never been to Calvi before it seemed a sensible thing to stay close to the city center. Tempted with the unbeatable prices of this venue we chose to stay @ the grand hotel. You pretty much get what you pay for... This accommodation might suit young people who stay the whole night out and don’t mind the street noise, the noise of your neighbors (walls seem to be as thin as cardboard) or the cracking noises of your own bed. When i entered the hotel i was impressed about the signage concerning the covid rules, that was till i realized that although the staff was wearing face masks and it was clearly on the signage to do so, nobody of the staff approached the other guests, lingering in the lobby and to/from breakfast room without wearing a mask, to do so. We hoped to enjoy the so often praised view from the top of the hotel for breakfast, just to find out they moved the breakfast room to the entry floor. Breakfast table weren’t really well wiped down, we found some jam smearing from the people before us on the table. One person took out an apple from the fruit basket just to put it back again, sorry that’s just a no go right now! We clearly didn’t feel safe enough in this premises during this special this time where strict precaution is needed. Staff @ the desk is lovely. So if you want spend just little money and expect just little to nothing from your accommodation this is the right place to choose.

Belvedere is a simple hotel but with a great location, and with a pricing that makes it a good choice if you're on a budget. Rooms are basic, but with a great view over the port and the beach. The staff was service-minded and helpful, despite the language barrier, and our stay was altogether pleasant. My one complaint is the same as for most Corsican hotels - there are nowhere to hang wet towels to dry, and as Calvi has a beach on easy walking distance from the city centre this especially inconvenient.

We stayed here recently for 4 nights on an organised tour and it was the nicest hotel we stayed in. Really lovely. Nice staff, lovely room and only a short walk from town and beach. We thought there was a good choice at breakfast (oh it's so nice to be offered grapefruit juice!) - I've been in French hotels where the only breakfast was a basket of stale croissants slammed down in front of you, so this lovely buffet with a choice of breads, cheeses, pastries, fruit, etc, with smiling waitresses, was perfect. My husband found if you ask for it, you can get great hot chocolate rather than the provided coffee, so he was happy. We didn't try the "boil your own egg" option. And we got bathrobes and slippers in our rooms, which for us is a real luxury. I kept making excuses to put the bathrobe on! My only teeny criticism is that I found our room a bit dark - we could have done with an extra overhead light. But this is minor. Honestly, if I were rich and lived in the 1930s, I'd move here for the winter and become a lady novelist like Agatha Christie (only not as good, obviously).

I thank Clara at the Hotel for taking such good care of me. She was a real treasure and I appreciate her help. The breakfast is very good and pretty much worth the 12 euros. You'll probably pay 8-9 euros outside and down the road closer to the Citadel, so just pay the 3-4 euros extra for a buffet and the convenience of having it right downstairs. It's a little tricky to find if coming from the train station. Basically bear left at the Citadel and just keep going up and left. You'll come to a fork that if you make a right will take you down to the small Plage du Roncu (which you may want to visit later). Keep bearing left uphill and then right with the sight of the Revellata point in front of you and you will come to the Hotel on your left. Try to get a sea view room. I had dinner in my room each night I was there because there wasn't any restaurant that was going to give me as nice a view of the sea and the Citadel as did my terrace.

We arrived and had a very basic conversation with the staff member on reception- just a 'hello' , do you have a reservation, here is your key'. We headed for our room but on approaching the corridor where our room was we saw someone sitting on the floor talking on a mobile phone - when she saw us she got up swiftly and opened a door that happened to be opposite our room, this was the staff room and filled with cleaning equipment. Our bedroom. was slightly disappointing in that it had a poor view of the sea and mountains , and along with the thought of staff sitting leaning outside our door chatting on their phones and maybe noise in the early hours of the staff cleaning trolleys I decided to ask for an alternate room. I approached reception, and due to the fact I had only had a short, broken french conversation with the lady there on arrival I first asked her if she could speak english. I am not sure if this upset her but the conversation went downhill from there. I didnt want to get the staff in the corridor in trouble so I just asked if there was another room we could look at , maybe with a better view. Bearing in mind that I booked the room directly with the hotel because their website guaranteed a free upgrade, if available on arrival, when the receptionist told me there were no other rooms available I asked if there was an upgrade available. She said there wasnt. I said that I found it hard to believe they didnt have even one alternative room for me to look at due to it being October . The conversation then headed downhill fast with her saying she'd told me 3 times that there was absolutely no other room free. Then she said I should have paid more money for a sea view room if I wanted a better view. Then she revealed that they had already apparantly upgraded me from the room I had booked (It would have been helpful if they'd told me this on arrival and then maybe I would have been more accepting of the room I was given, knowing that it could have been not as good). So, back to the room. It was fine, had a balcony. We actually didnt hear the maids making noise - despite the fact that a notice we saw said that the maids worked from 3am in the morning ! The receptionist wouldnt make eye contact with us for the rest of the holiday and even when I said Good Morning (in french of course) she looked away. This was the first person we'd met in 5 days on Corsica, having already stayed in 2 different hotels, who was very surly. We didnt take breakfast at the hotel because theres a lovely bakery literally next door. Its a short walk downhill to the harbour and beachfront train station and a few minutes more to the beautiful Calvi beach. The pool area of the hotel is phenominal but we discovered that the bar on the pool deck closes in September. Also, on the day we left there was a notice in the lift stating that the pool would be closing on October 19th - we didnt know if that was just for one day or that it was closing for the winter. But I'm sure tha

On arrival, we were upgraded to a suite, which we very much appreciated. The hotel is modern, spacious, fresh and clean. Coming into the room was a pleasure. The decor is attractive, the furnishings good quality, the lighting and colours relaxing. The suite gave us plenty of room and, after being in hotel rooms on our travels, a separate sitting room was an enjoyable luxury. The fittings and linen are all good quality, free and strong wifi, tea/ coffee making facilities. Plenty of hot water in the shower, a very comfortable king bed and quiet, efficient air conditioner and convenience of a safe. The sound proofing is good as we were not disturbed in the night with any noise within the hotel or outside. It would have been helpful to have the option of a stronger light in the bathroom. The hotel is in a quiet street but only a few minutes walk from the centre. It is 5 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes walk to the beach access and there is s supermarket close by. The staff are delightfully cheerful and helpful. The breakfast area is attractive with the option of eating inside it out. The 12 euro breakfast is the normal continental with ham, cheese, yoghurt, cereal, fruit, croissants and cake. It may not seem good value for 12 euros but we chose it for the convenience of it being in the hotel. The hotel has a small bar, too, and we enjoyed a drink in the pleasant lobby when we arrived. Breakfast is from 7.30 but if you need it that early it might help to let them know in advance as it really doesn’t start till about 7.45. Our travelling companion left an item of sentimental value in the room on leaving and when emailed, the hotel went to some trouble to locate it and offered to send it on promptly. This was very much appreciated and this extra care shows the quality of the hotel and its staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the suite a joy to relax in.

We spent 3 pleasant nights at the Saint Erasme, 2 in a normal double room and one in a slightly more expensive version. The normal room had a sort of terrace but it was an entirely enclosed little quadrangle with a couple of sad looking plants. The second more expensive room was much more spacious but without any terrace or outside space. Both were spotless. The AC was sort of typical for France with it providing an interior temperature a bit lower than outside, but bearable. The pool is lovely, sparklingly clean and beautifully positioned, a really pleasant place to be. There's even parking at the back of the hotel which is novel in Calvi. As in many hotels we have experienced in Corsica, the wifi is spotty at best so don't count on any decent connection when you need it. Reception just told us it was "hors service" and that's it. If your smartphone hotspot is working, you can manage. For the price, a small inexpensive fridge would be nice too. Voila!

We stayed here for four nights this september. It was the first stop on our trip around corsica. We stayed in one of the mobile houses. It was simple but very clean. The kitchen is fully equiped (microwave, water heater,toaster,...). We could not ask for anything more. The camp in general is also very clean and the staff is very friendly. There is also a little shop in the camp with all the esentials. The location is great, five minutes to the beach and 20 to Calvi on foot. The price is a little bit higher but we think the camp is worth the money. We definitely recommend this place.

This hotel is part of the relais and chateaux organization , so we did have high expectations , which were surpassed . We stayed in the unique tree house , cute and intimate , with a deck that had a stunning view of the mountains . We didn’t want to leave the room it was so good and had room service dinner there two nights out of three . Lots of stairs though , if you aren’t fairly fit , not for you . Likely the most unique room we have ever stayed in at a hotel . The hotel and grounds are top rate , as you would expect . Only about 5 km from Calvi , we even walked back one day , mostly along the nice Calvi Beach . Taxis easy to get , about 20 Euros to town . The hotel is near the Calvi airport but only 4 flights a day , we barely noticed . Pool was really warm and great to read by , gym was small but well equipped . Restaurant was good , but we honestly liked the room service better , due to the tree house . Pastoral setting , good place to recharge and see Calvi .

The hotel is not right in the town center but it's not a big problem for me. it's about 1.7km and 25 minute walk from the center. It's also about 15-20 minute walking to the beach. The size of the room is quite big and the bathroom is pretty new and modern. The air conditioner really helped as I stay during the hot summer time. Everything in the room was in order and the quality of bed is really good. There is a nice swimming pool as alternative to the beach. They don't have restaurant but there is nice bar. It's not far from some nice restaurants. The staff are really good and helpful. Some of them don't speak english but it should not be a big problem. One of the ladies offered me a coffee while waiting for my room to be cleaned up.

This is fabulous little family run hotel in Calvi. You can't ask for a better owner than Oliver. He speaks great English and goes out of his way to take care of the guests. This hotel has a fantastic vibe/atmosphere. They are in the process of refurbishing all the rooms and mine had a brand new bathroom. Oliver will hook you up with everything you need to know about Calvi and tell you all the best beaches and dining options. And of course the price is extremely good value. The only negative I could mention is the parking is very tight - but parking is very tight on the whole Island. I will be back next year to stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely tranquil hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the public areas are attractively decorated. The pool area was lovely; plenty of sun beds (I did find them a bit uncomfortable; padded mattresses would be nice!) and the pool was always warm. The jacuzzi was great too. The views over the Citadel and the bay of Calvi were wonderful and it was lovely to sit in the jacuzzi, chatting idly whilst taking in the views. We had a panoramic bedroom on the second floor of the original building. The views were lovely, whilst the room itself was clean, comfortable and with enough space for us to spread ourselves out. The bathroom doesn’t have a separate shower (it’s an over-the-bath shower) which could be an issue if you’re not so mobile. The hotel offers a courtesy bus into Calvi and also to the beach. It’s a terrific service and we made good use of it. It’s the staff, however, who really make this place a delight to stay. Ina on reception was especially helpful and so pleasant to chat to. She went the extra mile for us which was much appreciated. The two bus drivers were also lovely; friendly and utterly reliable. They work so hard, not just running the bus service but also doing a lot of the hotel maintenance. We chose to eat out most nights as we enjoyed wandering round Calvi in the evening. Breakfast was good, mainly pastries, cold meats and cheeses and a selection of yoghurts and fruit. We didn’t bother with the hot options so cannot comment on them. If I had one small gripe it would be that, given the French love of coffee, there was only a machine for coffee in the morning. It was perfectly drinkable but I’d have preferred a cafetière. We’d happily go back which I think is the iron test for a hotel.

We stayed at The Calvi Hotel for 5 nights to explore the area and hike along the stunning coastline. & then 2 nights at the end of our trip. The location nestled behind the pine trees, with a few yards leading to the beach was lovely. The boardwalk into town or along the beach was very pleasant. Staff were extremely helpful, the place was very well cared for & the beds were very comfortable. We requested a sea view and a Superior room for extra space. They were very spacious. (I’d probably try to avoid the rooms nearer the road as they would be a bit noisy). My only gripe was the breakfast choice, a fresh fruit salad would have been welcome. However, there were eggs to boil, a range of cheese & meat and pastries so no need to go hungry. I would recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

Voila!

We stayed in a mobile home for two nights at the end of April. There were few people in the camp. The mobile home is comfortable and well equipped.A double bed is too small for two adults. All mobile homes are directly on the sun. There is a nice pool . Water was warmed up to 28 degrees. It was very cold at night in the mobile home and there were not enough blankets ( only one for each person ). Frogs were very loud all night long. The location of camping is excellent, just 5 minutes walking to the long beach and 10 minutes to the city. Few minutes away is also well stocked supermarket. There is no natural shade on the beach.

You shouldn’t have any expectations from this hotel. It’s a 2 stars and honestly the apartments (specially those without balcony) are very sleazy with a ( little ) window on a very beatiful..wall!! Positive note : the hotel is very cleaned with everyday towel changing! Morning staff is polite. Morning, i say !! Fabiana.
