Instagram-worthy decor, lots of pretty backgrounds to take your #ootd However upon arrival, the front desk staff waved us off by merely stating that check in is 3pm. She further added, “come back after 2pm". She didn't bother checking our booking or whether there was anyone staying in the room. We were carrying multiple heavy bags. When asked if we can leave our bags at the hotel while we explore and wait for check-in few hours later, we were told that there is no luggage area for us to put our stuff down. The staff mentioned we can put on the sofa at the side, but she won't be around all the time to take care of it. The sofa can be accessed by anyone, anytime. So, we could only lug our bags and return at a later timing. Room was small but functional. If you are planning to buy food back, you can only eat it on the floor. Unless you dont mind facing the wall and not your friend while eating (because the desk was already taken up by the kettle, phone and coffee/tea - which was a lovely touch by the way) Overall, the service was far from ideal. Not on our recommendation list if you are looking for a hospitable and relaxing venue for your next staycation.

Booked through Agoda Stayed only for one night as was on transit from Australia back to home. The hostel is in the ground floor of Great Madras Hotel and is under the same management . Same staff and reception for both. A square cage like room. For seniors not at all good. Bed hight is just one feet above floor level. No space to keep the luggage. Leaving the bed space , just 1 1/2 feet space is left in the room ,that too on one side only. Really an uncomfortable stay. Bath room is common and not clean. No sufficient light in bathroom for shaving and all. Towel and bath kit provided. Locker and mobile charging facilities available in the room. Coffe/tea making available in the conjusted common area. Bed linen appeared as old and not changed. Free WiFi available and speed is good. Free breakfast is very basic. Cornflakes, bread and tea/coffee. I had breakfast from outside. Room door(slide door) cannot be locked from inside. One has to sleep without door locked. Location is good. Near to Rochor and Little India MRT.. Good Indian eateries and shops around. Staff are co-operative, especially Mr. Imen. Airport shared shuttle reaches just in front of the hostel (9 Singapore Dollars). There are hotels with better facilities available nearby with a lesser price. Do not recommend this hostel.

I pass through Singapore a couple of times a year travelling between Europe and Australia and the PERAK HOTEL is my first choice. I've stayed at far more luxurious hotels in Singapore but frankly for me the expense is not worth it. I've also stayed in other budget hotels there and most are just too basic or located where I don't want to be. The PERAK, for me, gets the balance of comfort, convenience of location, cleanliness and price just right. This is not a new hotel, in fact I believe that it's a heritage listed building, so the rooms while not modern have a charm of their own. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast is basic but good, the public area is clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic right on the edge of little India and a ten minute walk from Bugis street. I took the MRT from Changing airport, cost is $ 2-70, changed at Bugis junction station and came out of the station less than 100 Mtrs. from the hotel. There's an old saying "you get what you pay for" and in my view, given the cost of hotel accommodation in Singapore, the PERAK offers excellent value for money.

the location is very good. it's just near the metro station and 7/11. there are lots of restaurants of Indian food nearby. we were lucky to get room updation for free. the room is nice and clean. bathroom is ok, but when you take a shower, water is dripping all around, including the toilet. service is quite nice. you will want talking to the receptionist if you are a fan of British humor. I enjoyed staying there

I was here sometime ago and surprised by a negative comment below. They definitely need to stay in a hotel and go mingle with the rich. I’ve been to shady parts of bunkbed hostels in Singapore and this hotel was simply the best for me. This place was clean and decent. No breakfast, no problem. Only coffee, tea and hot water, no problem. Mattresses and beds were not tailor made, no problem. Sleeping with 16 other people in a room, no problem. We all know this is a hostel right? Royals wannabe shouldn’t be harsh on a $15-a-night sleepovers in fact they should stay away from budget hostels if they expect premium service for super low cost. *Pros: aromatherapy-infused rooms, en-suite bathroom, super hot shower, locker, 20 steps to Rochor MRT Station. *Cons: super cold AC, no towels, sometimes inconsiderate guest.

Pros= Very near MRT Station Rochor Mattress of good quality, we sleep soundly after a very tiring day There is mamak indian restaurant to it which comes handy if u need a quick bite however this can also be the source of noise. We take ensuite dorm-style room. Toilet is satisfactorily clean. No complaint. Hot shower available with good water pressure. Aircond works well, which is worth to mention because Singapore can be very hot especially in the day Cons= Wall not very sound proof Some of the plugs in the room not working Tips: You need to tell front desk if you want to check in early-subject to availability If you pay by credit card there is 3% service charge. The hotel takes 10sgd deposit per room key Breakfast is bread, butter, jam, tea and coffee. Dont expect too much. Can request to borrow Singapore simcard. Just top up 5 dollar and walla you enjoy high speed Internet connection.

First time staying at this hotel. Hotel location is just around 3 mins walk from jalan besar mrt. I came around 20mins later from the check in time. When i was checking in no one was at the front desk as the staff were having their lunch thus i needed to wait for quite awhile to check in and get my room. The room was great! Quite big from what i expected and there was a bathtub in my room which surprised me as i didn't expect to get a bathtub room for this hotel. Amenities were all great! Pillows and the bed were comfy but the comforter wasn't that comfy as it was soo thin but it could be better. But overall great stay for a mid range price hotel couldn't complain much. Looking forward to stay here again in the future 😊👍🏻

Booked this budget-friendly HOSTEL w/ private bathroom for 4pax. BIG CHECK ON PRIVATE BATHROOM, we prefer private bathrooms than common ones. It's not as clean as hotels but it's better than what most reviews portray it to be. We stayed in a family room in the 1st floor, no window room though but 1 queen bed and 1 double deck. It's spacious, with mirror and cabinet for things. Not the cleanest cabinet, if you are particular. Bathroom is good enough w/ working heater. Their blankets have seen better days though (they look more like towels, the one I got); sheets changed once in 5 days. Trash emptied every day but bathroom tissue not replenished. Sockets everywhere so no problem charging phones/laptops. We have 5 dual electrical outlets in our room for 4 people. Room needs improvement on cleanliness (smells musty; there's an exhaust but not as enough) but we're out the whole day and for its price, THIS IS A STEAL. We'd rather spend SGD120 (5D/4N) we saved for food. Various food choices nearby. Location is exceptional as it is smack in the middle of Jalan Besar (via Upper Weld Road) and Rochor Stations (Turn right to Perak St and the MRT is there!). We did DIY walking tours in the 3 early mornings to Mustafa, Tekka Centre, Kampong Glam, Haji Lane, and Bugis. Very accessible to cheap local food as well; hotel 1.5L water is cheap. Breakfast is coffee and toast with peanut butter, jam, and butter. Towels need to be rented with deposit. The owner and staff are accomodating. It’s a hostel so don’t expect it to be top notch but we’re okay with it since we are out the whole day. OH, AND OWNER GIVES FREE 500MB SIM CARD.

Room was spacious and hotel was in a good location (walking distance from mrt and restaurants). Odd choice of furnitures though. Also, hot water runs out after showering under it for a long time. All in all, will be back here becos it's worth it's price.

The toilet facilities are a bit rudimentary, complex and well designed. Super close to the subway and the most convenient transportation. It is also good to follow Little India, with local Indian food next to it.

Booked 3 rooms for family staycation. I would like to thank Ms Dillah and Mun kind assistance in arranging an earlier check-in for the 2 rooms. Front desk staff are all friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean. Water pressure of the bathroom is good! However, I was kind of disappointed that the club lounge did not open. Nevertheless, they do send food and drinks to our room at 6pm, and will refill our drink every 45mins. The lady that serve the drinks and the guy that serve the food was very nice and friendly. The food (chicken chop with truffle mash potatoe) is DELICIOUS, and the white wine (requested during 2nd serving) they offered is nice!!! But didn't had chance to ask what is the brand, as I left the room after 2nd serving. Not sure how long they serve the drink, I guess till 7:30pm? Great location, so we can easily bring our parents to Haji lane to walk around and feel as though we are on vacation. Ginger Restaurant decoration is lovely!!! But the breakfast serve at Ginger restaurant was pretty average to me... Wouldn't mind having as a package, but wouldn't pay the price for the kind of food serve. Service at the restaurant were much slower too as staff tend to look at the floor instead of the guest. But its CNY so I shall not comment much. But there's one aunty that serve food with big lovely smile. Its a petty that I didn't take note of her name. Overall experience staying in Park Royal Hotel Beach Road is good! Would definitely recommend if you are looking at staycation situated at convenience location filled with hipster cafe and nice restaurant.

Actually requested for highest floor with amazing view but they didn’t fulfil my request. It’s okay, they also mention to make advance booking for swimming pool and so we did, but pool is fully booked, felt so disappointed. During check in we try our luck again for the pool, lucky there is last 3 slot of us. Around 7pm went swimming, but no one was there. (Wonder why they say it’s fully book) 😕 In the afternoon try to make booking for pool again, again they say fully book. We didn’t bother to go down to check. Aside from that, we do appreciate the gifts that comes in the package that include late check out at 6pm, inclusive of breakfast and semi lunch buffet for 2 adults. Room was very spacious and clean. Overall we are happy with our stay there. Definitely we come again.

I booked for my fiancé's birthday and in lieu to celebrate New Years. Firstly, early check in was given as to prevent the crowd during the New Years Eve. Very smart move made by the hotel which I am very thankful for! It helps to control the crowd. Trip.com has emailed me to WhatsApp the hotel as were told by the hotel to request for early check in. Replies by the hotel staffs were fast too! After checking in, I called to reserve the pool but it was sad I could not go as it was raining! The room was rather small but that's fine by me! The shampoo and body wash given smells nice! I usually do not use hotel's shampoo/bodywash but this hotel's toiletries was quite nice! The view from the toiler was not bad too! You need to of course close the blind to have a private shower. Was given free macaroons delivered by the robots to my room as it was my fiancé's birthday! Super kind gesture made by the hotel staffs! We were super touched! The next day, when I went down to pick up my breakfast as I choose to take away(can select to dine in or take away), the staff could not find my breakfast order as my breakfast order was misplaced by one of the staffs (the one I gave my order sheet to) But that's okay because I did not mind waiting for them to pack my food again. I was also granted late check out! Overall, pleasant stay! The team was all very friendly and approachable. Thank you!

There was a 3-hour delay in checking-in but we were reasonably compensated in the form of complimentary parking and dining credits. Kudos to the front desk and concierge staff who were efficient and patient, especially with some unreasonable guests (no need to make things difficult for those who are trying to make your stay better). Food quality of in room dining was good and the safety measure was well managed at the pool. Thank you to all that have served us during our stay, you are Awesome! Just one thing not so pleasant thou, the service attitude of a particular male staff at Ash and Elm was rather bad that’s why we decided not to dine there. Seemed like somethings don’t change (bad experience with Ash and Elm years back), so except for the restaurant, we would love to come back again 😁

Beds were clean and comfortable. Front desk staff service was friendly and professional. After the 1st night, was woken up by drilling and hammering noises at 9 plus in the morning. Breakfast in room dining was ordered at 930am, arrived at 1150am as in doom dining department could not cope w the huge amount of orders. Was informed that our breakfast would arrive at 1130am. So first day, wasn't impressed w renovation noises that disrupted our sleep and a breakfast that was more of brunch. Did request for room change and was given another room. Air conditioning in the new room was not working well n had to request for a fan. Overall, the old building and maintenance of the hotel would place it as a 4 star hotel rather than a 5-star rating.

Lavender
Hotel Boss is about the location. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and Lavender MRT Station is 200m away. Bugis and City Hall area is a short bus ride away and Kampong Glam is within walking distance. Check-in was surprisingly quick, given the long queues inside the lobby as well as 2 separate long queues outside the hotel (one along it's drop-off point via Syed Alwi Road and another along its front - Victoria Street). The staff were friendly and welcoming. Pretty good attitude given the large crowd and check-ins. It's a mid-range hotel with many rooms. The rooms, however, are pretty small. Tiny, I would say. I have got a Triple Room and the distance between the foot of the bed and the desk is about a person's width. The en-suite toilet is tiny too. A big-sized guy like me would hit the wall or the basin when I changed inside the toilet. There are no traditional toilet paper dispenser. Instead, what was installed was a tissue paper in a cylindrical container where you pulled down piece by piece. This was installed by the mirror behind you if you used the bowl, so it was pretty inconvenient. The water strength of the tap and showers were good. Toiletries and towels were provided and replenished/changed daily. The bed was comfortable but only one pillow was provided and the pillow was thin. The air-con is pretty strong and given the small size of the rooms, the room was cooled pretty quickly. There is no wardrobe but an open-style hanging system was used with 6 hangers. Coffee and tea was provided as well as a kettle. The mini-fridge was great! The strength was great and chilled my drinks quickly. One really bad thing about Hotel Boss is that they have pretty thin walls. I could hear the muffled sounds of my next-door neighbours talking and the sound of the TV. There were some shouting two doors down and that was audible. Had to call the staff up to handle and they did a pretty good job. The in-room telephone wasn't working well and I could not hear anything after 2 calls down to the reception but they sent a guy up after that to make sure things were good. Breakfast was provided and served at their 4th floor Halal-certified restaurant. It was a choice between a Chinese or Western set. Serving was great with the typical breakfast items, in addition to yogurt, bread and cereal with milk. There were queues at certain times of breakfast (after 9.30am) but that was probably due to the high occupancy rate. All in all, I believe the Triple Room I stayed in was too cosy for 3 adults. I loved the service and condition of the room. It was convenient to get to a lot of places. However, one thing to note is that they would locked the front doors (facing Victoria Street) from 9pm-5am and you would have to access via it's drop-off point (facing Syed Alwi Road and Kallang River).
