Ipoh is my hometown and I don't usually stay in a hotel here but Tudor was a lovely find. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite that was beautifully furnished and very clean. A small yet lovely lounge area for us to watch tv though both bedrooms also had tv's in them. A great suite for a family or friends that want a common area to hangout. Shower was great with good pressure and air-conds were cool. Toileteries were also provided. The hotel staff were informative, friendly and helpful. We went as the MCO has just lifted so I was glad to seem them sanitize both us and our bags. We also saw them cleaning one of the rooms and glad to see the staff was sanitizing everything. Check-in & checkout was a breeze. The whole place is instagram worthy so I suggest you take some time out to click a few pictures before you leave. They also have beautiful antique articles that you can purchase. Tudor is centrally located and near to all the famous eating spots. I would definitely return again.

This was the first time we ended up in a hotel that we could not choose ourselves! Coming back into Malaysia from overseas, we were assigned to this hotel by the local health department. As soon as we knew the name of the hotel, we looked online and called the hotel manager, Mr Vilu to get a better idea of what to bring with us. He was very nice in answering all our questions like what type of connection did the room TV have so I could bring the correct cable to connect my laptop (HDMI btw). Being confined in a hotel room for 2 weeks is not something we had ever done before so having a laptop with internet was going to be our main activity during our confinement. The hotel provides adequate free wifi but we could also use our own internet in our phone as a hot spot (good coverage in our room). Luckily for us, we had a room with a window so we could see traffic passing by as well as mountains on the horizon and daylight! If you are a light sleeper, make sure to bring cotton balls for your ears at night as there is constant traffic on the main road nearby (we slept like babies thanks to our ear plugs). The room was clean, the beds comfortable, the water hot in the shower, the AC working perfect with a ceiling fan so can control the air flow. TV screen was nice quality LG with good sound so we could enjoy documentaries, movies from our laptop (we did not watch any of the 5 lame mainstream channels). The food was delivered to our room (another novelty for us, obliged during quarantine!) and it was surprisingly varied (mix of Malaysian and intl cuisine) and abundant enough prepared by a caterer hired by the hotel. Once a day, you can order food delivery but we never felt the need to as the standard catered food was satisfying. We could communicate easily with the hotel staff via a whatsapp group or phone and our few special requests were answered right away. Mr Vilu and the hotel staff are probably the best asset for this hotel and should we ever need an hotel room in this area, we would not hesitate to come back at the Eastana Hotel. Thank you for making our mandatory stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Contrary to what we heard from other quarantined people in other parts of Malaysia about food and rooms, we have no critics about this hotel, a very good choice by the local gvt!

Our stay in the 6 bed dorm was everything you could ask for. The hostel is well designed with beautiful interiors that would do credit to the most expensive boutique hotels. The dorm beds provide privacy with a curtain and each Jas bedside light and charging points. The Aircon in the room works well and lockers large enough for medium sized backpack. The location is approximately 15 minutes walk from the old town which in the heat can feel s bit much but grab is easy enough to get. The communal areas are plentiful. The bathrooms and showers are also great with nice warm showers

Located near to ipoh city centre. 5-10 minutes driving to all attractions place in the city. Parking is convenient. You can outside of the hotel compound if the parking space is full. Hotel will provide the ticket from 8am to 12pm. They also provide a space for EV/Hybrid car (including charging station). Breakfast buffet is good. I also love the space in my room. Overall, they served a good service.

My first stay at the French Hotel back in 2013 was an exceptionally positive experience, and as a returning guest, I must say that I am impressed by how well they have maintained their good standards. Even after 7 years, the hotel looks just as good and the room was spotlessly clean and fresh. Not to mention their high quality of service and also good COVID-19 preventive measures. There was one slight downside though - noise from outside the room was quite loud this time round. I don't remember noise and voices being so audible in my last trip. But all in all, I had no regrets choosing them again for my family getaway and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We booked a room for 4 as we travelled as a family. The room is clean, firm bed quiet and the staff are helpful. It is a short walking distance to Ipoh old town. I definitely will stay at this hotel again for my next visit. The room comes with a huge TV mounted up and hanging from the ceiling. There is nothing much to watch but it is a smart TV, probably one can surf the Net or Youtube for more entertainment. The room comes with basic facilities but since it is a budget hotel, we are not expecting too much. We are not sure why the food on the table was infested with ants.

Stop over for a night in Ipoh on my way to Penang and I must admit the room is beautifully finished, clean and cozy. The staff was also very friendly and breakfast was very good. The hotel is pretty far away from the town but it doesn’t matter. The only shortcomings are that there is no fridge and that the welcome drink was extremely sugary....you can’t change. Overall I will rate this hotel highly.

Room is spacious, bed is comfy. Overall very good conditions. Some of the minor points which does not affect the overall rating. There is no mirror in the room area, but the mirrors in the toilet is awesome. Lack of power points for additional charging, need to unplug from the lights. The hot water temperature is not consistent, tend to get colder. Would be nicer if the water in swimming pool is clearer.

We are regular traveller to Penang and recently we made it a point to break journey in Ipoh to make the journey less tiring and more enjoyable. For quite sometimes we have been staying at Casuarina Meru on our way back to KL. Then we found this Indra Hotel Boutique Suites and ever since we have been staying at this hotel to break journey. Indra Hotel Boutique Suites is located next to PLUS Highway exit Bercham if you are driving from the North. Tesco Ipoh is just opposite the hotel making it very convenient if you are coming during opening hours. It is a budget hotel nicely designed and quite comfortable. There are about 45 rooms in two floors. The room is well furnished with everything you need and the water pressure for taking shower is very powerful. Ironing is outside the room. There is drinking water, kettle for boiling water, telephone and safe deposit box. They also provide air cond and a fan. The bed is comfortable. There is one pillow for each person but you can ask for more. A cash deposit of RM50 is needed. There is no restaurant but a mamak restaurant is just opposite. Public Parking is available around the hotel and there a few lots reserved for customers on first come first serve basis. There is seats at the Lobby and a Table for 6 in case you have discussion. The rate is the best from RM130-200 depending on the room type. Counter service is OK just for check in and check out. It has been my second home now. Try it out the next time you are in Ipoh. The family room for three was big and the beds comfortable. There is a huge fridge, coffee sachets & an electric kettle. There was even a big sofa in front of the TV for added comfort. The staff was helpful & friendly. We asked for sone ceiling bulbs to be changed and these were done quickly and efficiently. It's close to restaurants & The Store, a department shop.It takes about 15-20 minutes on foot to the old town. The hotel is quite dated, so refurbishment & general maintenance are required. The corridors are dimly lit too. There should be some ventilation in the bathroom because it's like a sauna after a shower!

Stayed 3 nights in a Deluxe Twin room. Realised they are not operating the cafe at ground floor. There is only one lift and the staircase was locked. Had to call to prepare the pre-booked extra bed. Facilities: The bathroom is two steps up. A rain shower and hand held shower with water temperature fixed at ”optimal”. Shut heater switch accidentally (No Smoking sticker on switch) and end up with cold shower. The person at the reception cannot explain why there was no hot water when we asked the next morning. 3 local TV channels and 1 showing Korean drama. No fridge in room. Did not notice the door hanger to make-up room hanging in a open wardrobe. Had to ask housekeeper to make-up room. Could hear the singing at the karaoke/bar which operates after 10pm. Took a while to fall asleep. Location: there are a few eateries 5 to 15 minutes walk away. Ipoh Parade, a mall is 20 minutes away. Staff: Friendly and pleasant. One Chinese staff recommended a popular Chicken rice stall when we asked. Turns out he was the main staff who could answer our queries. Overall, it was an average stay - will pick another hotel next time.

When looking for hotel to book, the first criteria is location. This hotel is located away from down town and not too far away from down town. So, it is a rather quiet place. Very good. Next, was the offer of room rate, which is attractive. This pass. So, went ahead to book the dates of stay in Ipoh for this hotel. Upon arrive, the outlook of the hotel was rather impressive, very spacious lobby. When doing the check in, the front desk worker are foreigners. So, English and explanation is not very good. Even trying hard to explain in Bahasa Malaysia. Was told that there is no TV channels to watch. Reason given was the government has switched from analog to digital. So, the hotel were not equipped with the digital decoder. Well, this announcement has been made some time ago, and should be prepared to carry out the installation and testing. Not willing to spend money? Okay, without TV to watch is fine. Most ot the time would either be out and running about or just need the bed to sleep. When given the room key, it is the metal key. After getting into the lift to get to the room, the varendah on the floor was rather run down. There is self ironing service, where the ironing board cloth is rather burnt. Open the room door, and the room is rather musty. Uneven floor and torn and worn carpet. The windows are nailed and locked, therefore it could not be open. The window glass were tinted and the tint film is having blisters. Hence, not a clear view looking out from the room. The bed is okay. But the bathroom is very narrow and tight. The shower when turn on, will wet the toilet bowl and the wash basin. There is no cupboard, it is just a narrow spaced nailed together with planks to serve as a cupboard. Generally the room is very narrow too. Overall the room is very run down. There is no stool, no desk. So, have to use a bedside drawer to put the luggage and sitting on the bed to work with a very small and narrow coffee table. Wifi is very weak and intermittent.

This small hotel in the centre of Wadi Musa is surprised by the friendliness, sympathy and availability of the manager Issam, a real home to return after the fabulous visit to the fabulous Petra. We got a unique room room, with two floor levels, the lower floor is for common area, and the upper floor is for the beds, both connected with stairs, some unusual room style, not fit for handicapped person. However, it was clean, quiet and at affordable rate, with shared bathroom facilities. You need a cash refundable deposit of MYR 50 when check in. As Ipoh is split into old town area, and new town area, this hotel is at the old town area, and more easily to find any delicious foods in the morning and afternoon. while for dinner, more delicious food options in the new town area and need walk, up to 15 - 20 minutes from this hotel.

Our stay at the Golden Roof was terrible. From the start, the check in took a lengthy amount of time even though no one else was waiting to be checked in. When arriving to our first room, there was a huge yellow stain on the bed. Upon complaining for over an hour, the manager finally offered us an upgrade. Unfortunately, the upgrade was actually a downgrade. Wallpaper falling off, dead bugs on the floor, broken window, drainage problems in the bathroom, other people’s hair all over floor and on the bed. I would highly suggest not to book this hotel and waste your money here. The rooms again were terrible, the couches in the lobby even had stains, the hallways smelt like smoke even though it was nonsmoking, and the staff were rude and not willing help correct the issues. Extremely disgusted and disappointed with this establishment!

A boutique hotel with good room rates. Room’s clean, has vinyl flooring and built-in carpentry is in rather good condition. Bed’s firm and basic toiletries are provided (toothbrush n paste, bath n shower). Clean bedlinens though the towel I had was old with few grey-black stains. Bathroom’s large but the water pressure is slightly Low (our room’s on the 1st level, with Recep at ground). There’s a dim sum restaurant just beside the hotel but we didn’t eat there. A larger food centre is just round the corner, 5-10mins wall away. Good and value for money place to stay even with no options for breakfast.

Everything was OK, expect the guests need to walk from this end to the other (like we did as our room was at the end of the block). Not sure whether there were other access to the first floor other than the lift at the lobby. Ok if it is for a short business trip within Meru area. The micro location is good as it is a stone throw from Mydin Mall and many other attractions in Meru area. The room was OK although some floor boards are peeling off already. The toilet was not really clean especially at shower area. The glass partition was stained and not properly cleaned. Overall experience was OK, cannot ask for more.

The room is nice but sadly the toilet is not isolated by a door, it just separated by a curtain which makes the toilet is open air… I afraid to poop inside the room as I scared there will be poop smell remaining in the air. The sound proof system is not good, early in the morning we will wake by the Muslim’s Doa or if upstairs there are ppl walking there will be sound also. I’m conclusion, two points that makes this hotel rating drop 1. Toilet not in a closed space 2. Sound proof system not good

Stayed at Bedrock during May Day long weekend. The minute you step into Bedrock, it feels like visiting an old friend’s home. Debbie, Mr Chong and Yee are so friendly and make us feel so welcomed. We stayed at room no 10, although the room is relatively small, we love the fact that the room has everything you need, the attention to details is amazing! The bed is super comfy and comes with 2 bolsters (you hardly see this in hotels in Asia). Room has enough power sockets which are easily located (necessity these days when you need to charge your phone and ipad), water dispenser with hot and cold options (rather than plastic water bottles), bath tub which actually comes with bath salt and Japanese toilet seat which has bidets and iron&ironing board stored neatly in the cupboard. We had to go Taiping early in the morning and Yee made sure that we have enough snacks since he said the journey can take a while, this is despite the fact that we already had a breakfast at the hotel! Debbie was very helpful in recommending us places to go and places to eat. The restaurant she recommended, turns out to be one of the best meals we had in Ipoh. Hotel location is great, there are a lot of local eateries near the hotel. Fujiwara tofufa is great! We walked to the old town a couple of times, it is an easy walk with nice murals and old shophouses along the way. The famous beansprout chicken (Lou Wong and Onn Kee) are also within walking distance from the hotel. Definitely highly recommend Bedrock!
