We stayed here for 5 days and we loved every bit of it. The places spotlessly clean fresh and not run down feeling at all. There's a saltwater pool somewhat of a sandy area to sit and look at the water although they don't have a beach this place is wonderful it feels old school with a fresh look. The staff is wonderful they were so helpful everything we asked they were more than happy to help us The management is fantastic The rooms are clean and spacious we enjoyed every minute while we were here and we would definitely come back here again we had a kitchenette and that just made the whole trip even nicer

When we arrived, we were able to launch our boat and take right off. A tip for anyone staying here- Once you launch your boat, hug the rock wall. Go left from the launch, stay next to the dock, continue to hug the rock wall that follows the resort next door and continue on until you reach the point to the left of the resort. I cannot stress this enough. Stay against the shore until you reach the point to the left looking out from the back of the resort. From there, there is a channel you can go straight into. Continue to follow this channel, and go straight then slightly to the right and you will reach alligator reef. You will see the structure in the distance. Follow this channel to the end, take a hard right and you will reach the beautiful sand bar. As for the hotel- I was not thrilled with the afternoon service. The man was a little helpful but the woman was not. The woman during the day, Stephanie was terrific! She was very cheery and asked if I needed anything about a million times which was wonderful. I was disappointed that I did not have a full fridge, sink, or couch in our villa. I thought this was standard as that is what the photos show but it is not. There are only certain rooms that provide this. This is important if you are like me, and pack food and dinner for a couple days and nights that you are there. There is one gas grill that works perfectly outside the villas. The pool is well kept and they have corn hole, bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks. I asked for a blanket and the night crew forgot until about 9pm. I left towels outside and they took them but did not replenish the stock until I went the next day and requested new ones. Most people were outgoing and listening to music all night - but not so loud you could hear it anywhere but their own room. Only about 1.5 hours from Key West this was a great find and I will definitely stay here again! The room was huge!

Sitting in the airport awaiting my flight home from both Islamorada and Key West. Booked the Pelican Cove Resort as I wanted a superb view and loved the idea of using two other resorts. The Postcard Inn right next store is A MA ZING!! The facilities are so much nicer there’s so book the Pelican at a cheaper price and walk next store. The pools and beach (a swimmable beach to boot) are great as are the restaurants. That said, the Italian restaurant Ciao Hound, doesn’t allow you to sit outside unless you have a dog....I flew thousands of miles to escape the Northeast winter and left my big dog home and had to sit inside in the frigid air conditioning! Bizarre. The included Continental breakfast was perfectly ok....cereal, fruit, hard boiled eggs, breakfast pastries, bagels, muffins, yogurt etc. Patrick’s “fish like a local” free sessions were fun and free! Overall...recommend this place. My oceanfront room was small but the view on the large patio was well worth it. Get out and see the key as there are some great restaurants within 15 minutes of the resort.

We booked here as a last minute getaway and stayed for two nights. We brought our 4 year old son and our 5lb chihuahua. All I can saw is wow! This resort is amazing! Our room had dog bowls with treats, bags, sunglasses, sand toys for our son, snacks etc. The room was immaculate! The entire property was clean and updated. Everyone was so friendly. Rob, the manager, was extremely nice and helpful when we had a question and he made sure our stay was comfortable. Theres a lot of things to do on the resort, like games, beach, free rentals (paddle boards, etc), a dive shop, tiki bars by the pool, etc. Our son had a blast especially on the beach. It felt like we were on a private island with 5 star treatment. I enjoyed the restaurants as well, especially the breakfast at Ciao hound, and the service was excellent. Cocktails by the pool were awesome! There is also a full service Starbucks on the property too which was nice. I enjoyed browsing the two gift shops/boutiques; I forgot my sun hat and they had a great selection of Peter Grimm hats! I don't understand the poor reviews here because this dog friendly resort should be #1 in the keys! We will definitely be going back as soon as business resume as usual!

We had a great time, the rooms were nicely remodeled and very clean. The views were amazing. The staff was always great. The pools and hot tub were clean and perfect. The beach area was great to relax. The location couldnt be better. 4 restaurants and boat / jet ski rental within walking distance. Grocery store 2 min away. We are already planning for next year. We ended up staying an extra night because we didnt want to leave! Thank you for a great vacation!

I am confused that this is listed as a B&B. We were not offered any breakfast during our 2 night stay. There was a coffee maker in the room but no kitchenette. There is a central motel around the pool with additional fourplex buildings all right off the highway. We arrived and there were 2 staff in the lobby (?). Neither even made eye contact with us and barely spoke. Sitting at a desk rather than at a counter is quite impersonal. Sadly we were allocated 2 rooms in an outbuilding at the back of the motel. Nothing available around the pool area. The room was very tired and disappointing. As we were back there, we never even saw the pool or the pretty views that are shown in the photos. We happened to be in the area during a cold temperature time and the room was extremely damp throughout. There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom so any moisture from the shower stays in the room. There is a small leaky window in the bathroom but with the temperatures so low outside we were not about to open the window to let moisture out. There was a small amount mold on the ceiling which is certainly due to the moisture. An added issue was that there is no heat source in the room, only AC. We ran the AC while we were out of the room to try to get rid of the dampness. We turned it off when we returned and actually had to take the bedding off of the second bed and put it on us to keep warm. Being cold is very uncomfortable. Our room looked nothing like the photos. The office doesn't open until 9 am so we had to wait around to check out before beginning our long drive north. That was very inconvenient and I was really annoyed when the man just took our keycard and said "we could go". No receipt, no nothing. We would have appreciated being told at check-in that there was no check out process and we would have left our key in the room and departed earlier. We have traveled extensively and this is one of the most disappointing places that we have ever stayed.

In an area where there is a certain predictability to accommodation Casa Morada stood head and shoulders above anywhere else we stayed. The wonderful greeting we received from Sara on arrival was a foretaste of things to come. The effort she went to help my wife with a 'shopping' problem went way beyond anything one would normally expect. Our room was beautifully appointed and they provided tea and coffee making facilities on request. The bed was very comfortable (thankfully as I'd obviously picked up something on the flight over and so bed frequently beckoned). The light simple breakfast was perfect for us, the 'island' beach area is a joy and the other staff that we met - Teri(sp) and Max's names come to mind - were a delight making us feel welcome and more like house guests than visitors. We loved it.

We hosted our daughters wedding at the Islander. Family and friends traveled from Boston area as well as local. Beautiful resort, wonderful and attentive staff. Wonderful four days of family fun and wedding festivities. The Wedding was a huge hit at this venue. Everything turned out wonderfully and our daughter and her new groom were so happy. So was the guests and family. A wonderful time. Highly recommend the Islander for weddings, gate away and good family fun.

We were very happy with our choice of the Cheeca Lodge & Spa for a 3 day get away. The property is beautiful! Tiki torches light up the night and the tropical plant life is immaculately groomed. We tried pickle ball and played the 9 hole pitch and putt. There are other activities included but it was a little cold and windy during our visit. Our room was a King suite with ocean front balcony and from it you are a stone throw from the ocean. I highly recommend this room! We had the Cheeca book a fishing trip for us. It was too windy for an enjoyable deep sea trip so we went gulf fishing, which was great! We also did a couples spa package which was delightful. I recommend booking in advance as there were limited times available. There are lots of restaurants in Islamorada that are terrific. The two we enjoyed at Cheeca were Nikai Sushi and Atlantic Edge, both of which were delicious! This property is all about relaxing and by the end of three days we were so relaxed that we hated to leave. Great job Cheeca!

I wanted somewhere special to go to celebrate my 50th birthday. We chose “Orchid Cottage”, at a cost of $640.00 a night (including tax’s), that’s a lot of money for a one night stay, which included NOTHING but the stay in the cottage and free use of two bicycles (everything else was extra). I expected way more at this price point than what was experienced. The overall cost for our 5 night stay was $3,200. Let’s start with day one – I go to sit down in the wooden lounge chair in our private beach area and almost fall onto the ground because the arm rest was completed broken (it simply fell right off). That was the first most ridiculous thing to happen. But wait, there’s so many more ridiculous things to tell you about. The first morning we wake up to a circular saw cutting new decking, right on the small beach area. It’s not as if the grounds keepers couldn’t have done this cutting elsewhere on the property, very disappointing to hear anything but the birds and the wind in the palms – if you advertise peace and tranquility, THEN GOD DAMN deliver on THAT! I had the call the office and ask what the hell was going on – was not happy at all! The second day, we wake up to an orbital sander sanding a new hand-rail on the outside deck – again, I had to call the office and ask what the hell is going on – now, I am angrier. Another very frustrating event was that every night as soon as the sun went down ants appeared inside the cottage – lot’s of them! Big black and red fire ants, nasty ants, small ones too (everywhere, including the bedroom!!!). I had to call and complain about this as well, now I am even more angry. How did the manager handle this you might ask? Well, the manager sent over a woman who didn’t speak English to hand us poison in some plastic vials. Am I supposed to be the exterminator who knows what to do with this poison for the price I paid for this room, I THINK NOT, not at any price – this was COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS!!! DISCUSTING!!! The manager suggested she would call an exterminator, I told her this is not my house – this type of thing should be taken care of before guests arrival – I came on vacation to relax and have a private cottage not to deal with exterminator on the property, in our space!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! Now, the cottage was named the “Orchid Cottage” – there was one nice orchid on the coffee table, but the only other orchid within the cottage was not in bloom by the second day – don’t you think house-keeping would replace it without having to ask for it to be replaced? Nope, you’d be expecting way too much from this LAME organization. That orchid remained in the cottage until we checked out when they have a whole greenhouse full of them – WTF!!! This place had zero elegance about it – ZERO!!!! Do not waste your money by going there. The icing on the cake was the day of our check out. Check out is at 11:00AM. By 10:45AM the grounds-keeper was raking the sand in our private beach area. We wanted to savor the last few minutes o

The good: the suites are huge! There is a decent sized kitchenette, large living room, and around the corner, the bath, and a large bedroom. I am currently staying here. I am a fan of this hotel group, having stayed at the Pelican once before, and the Postcard a few other times. The Postcard is my favorite- great ambiance, restaurants, fun pool, and the shuttle makes regularly scheduled stops (this place, you have to request the shuttle.) Upon arrival here at La Siesta things have been pretty lackluster. Once you drive in, after the sun goes down, you can’t see where you need to go to checkin. The office does not stand out. I have read the good reviews about staff being awesome, but we did not experience a very welcoming feel. The garden view room is of the backside of the resort laundry room, 3 overflowing carts left out overnight. The droning sound of a motors all night we found out was the result of this bedroom being over all the air conditioning units for the entire building... like 20 of them! Had we discovered this upon checkin, I would have requested a move. The best part of this stay was the smiling, blond woman working the breakfast room. The other good part is that we have access to the other resorts, so we will head to the Postcard a few miles up the road to hang out for the remainder of our time! I don’t enjoy complaining, but i feel like I am just stating facts. I travel frequently (about every 8-12 weeks exploring fabulous hotels and places). I love photographing and sharing experiences that not everyone gets a chance to do. It has been a long time since I have had an experience that I did’t come close to loving, and this is the 4th hotel I’ve visited in a week, between Fort Myers, Miami and Key West. I was just here in Islamorada and Key West 3 months ago, at hotels I’ve stayed at in the past. I had been curious about this place in the past, but know now that I cannot even recommend this place, except out of desperation.

I love this little resort, if that's what you would call it. Its not a resort with a place to eat breakfast, an ice machine, (bagged ice $3) or any of the Amenities a resort offers like food, drinks, activities, sports or shopping, it's a hotel on the Gulf side. We love it here but our room was hot! We had the AC set on 65. Yes, its desert hot outside but the room we paid $200 for should be freezing if needed. I brought my box fan from home, glad I did. There were others by the beach area talking about how hot the rooms are. So, if your hot or going through menopause, find a different hotel!! Our room was newly renovated, it was 100% better than the one we stayed in last yr. The room wasn't up to standards but we wanted to give it another try. Glad we did, beautiful sunset, kayak and paddle board during the day. Honestly, the only problem was the room being hot. Much cleaner than last time.. we will come back. Oh, they do have little frig in room as well as coffee maker. The rooms above office dosent have a balcony which sucked. Oh well, we will book one with a view next year!!!
