Western breakfast is particularly delicious. Many waiters are Chinese who speak Mandarin. They are very kind to introduce you to the place. There are also Mandarin speaking rooms at the front desk. The air-conditioning is very late. They also come to help us with cleaning. Standard but nice people. One day it was three o'clock in the general election and we could get off work. We cleaned the room and cleaned the room before work. The cleanliness was very comfortable. Jin Jiang Shanghai Restaurant is next to it. Eating is very convenient. There are too many Chinese restaurants on the main road of Kingsway. Very good experience. I will stay here next time. The only thing is the deposit on the credit card when I checked in. It ’s been more than 20 days after check-out. It seems that I have n’t returned.

Thank you for the opportunity to describe my Inn at the Quay experience. I was booked for a day procedure at Royal Columbian Hospital at 6:00AM on Saturday May 20. Because I was travelling from out of town and had to be driven home (as a requirement of the procedure) I elected to travel by train to Vancouver and then New Westminster on the day before, Friday. On Tuesday May 16 I booked a room at your hotel for the night of the night of Friday May 19 for $389.00 ex-taxes. My plan was to take a cab to the Hospital and then my daughter was then going to drive to town to pick me up and drive me home after the procedure on Saturday. After travelling to New Westminster I had time to kill because I called the Inn at the Quay to see if I could get an early check in but was told that you were very busy and that was not possible. The hospital recommends attending with only your care card for security reasons. For this reason I had my BC Care Card and the credit card I used to book the room in my cellular phone case. During my wanders I lost my phone. Fortunately I had a significant amount of cash so I got a cab immediately and attended at your hotel. I explained my situation to the clerk on the desk and she said that she could not check me in without the credit card I used to book the room. I asked her if you would charge that card with the room price if I had not shown up and she agreed that that was the case. When I asked if she could just charge the card and let me stay she said that the situation was different and was against your policy. I questioned her further and she summoned a person form the back office who agreed that the situation was completely different and actually said “Sorry, we can’t help you.” When I suggested cancelling the credit card transaction and paying in cash that suggestion was also turned down. Reason was lost on these two minions that are trained to be slavishly obedient to your rules and policies. I am sure that if you question these two they will agree that I was polite and courteous throughout our encounter. After several attempts at circumventing their indifference I felt that I should leave before I started to get mad. As a competent, attentive and businesslike hotelier I am sure you are aware of the saturation in your market on any given day. If you harken back to May 19 you will recall that all of the other hotels in New Westminster and as far as Port Coquitlam were completely booked. No matter, I was able to avail myself of a comfortable chair in the admitting lobby of the Royal Columbian Hospital from 4:00PM on Friday until 6:00AM the following morning. Except of course when I had to leave the admitting lobby while the janitors polished the floors. Because the Emergency Room lobby was full I was able to meet some of the interesting local street residents that were outside at 2:30AM. The questionnaire you emailed me “after my stay” to comment on my experience does not have sufficient space to fu

Is NOT PET FREINDLY! Seeing people getting SHAFTED into single bed rooms instead of the reserved KING bed rooms Plus had my best friend DENIED after calling 2 days ago asking if a support cat was allowed, only to be TOTALLY DENIED when he showed up on their HONEYMOON as they were MARRIED at noon yesterday! If this is the way YOU THE HOTEL treat customers, I've just canceled my booking for a month from now... you can keep the empty room, I'll go somewhere else with this attitude!

They advertise their rooms as having air conditioning but this is not true as the room we were checked into had a evaporative air cooler. The cooling system in the room didn't work and they were completely aware of this but did not mention a single thing to us at check-in. We had to constantly fill the bucket from the air cooler with ice cold water in order to get any cool air in the room. They told us it should last 8 hours but the machine started beeping at 3:30am after we had just filled it with ice cold water right before bed. It's ridiculous to have to go fetch ice and change the water out in the middle of the night. We were told that they were fully booked and they couldn't move us. There were also lots of mosquitoes in the room - our best guess was that the big bucket of water from the machine made it a nice environment for them. The nights were hot, stuffy and annoying with the mosquitoes bothering us. We were not able to have a good nights sleep at all. The toilet and bathtub are also not renovated. The toilet seat was peeling and really disgusting. The bathtub does not drain well at all when you are showering. The room we were assigned was also right behind the elevators. Whenever the elevators were in use, we heard banging all the time - even in the middle of the night. We usually ask for a room away from the elevators but we haven't been able to access our rewards account to see if it's still noted despite asking for password reset help multiple times and having no response. Cleanliness was also a problem - the floors were sticky and they haven't cleaned under the sofabed in a long time. Housekeeping also asked us one morning if we needed our room cleaned and we declined. That night, we had a card slipped under our door indicating that they will do a wellness check within 24 hours since they haven't heard from us - we just spoke with them THAT morning. We've stayed here many times before and spoke highly of this hotel but we will no longer recommend it to anyone.

Great location, easy access to a food court downstairs and also the Metropolis mall. Service is great, we requested for some toiletries and they came very fast. Easy to use app to communicate with the staff there, they are very friendly as well! Love the buffet breakfast, waitress was nice. The only downsides are the pools are bit small and not the cleanest we have seen. The gym is small comparing to the size of the hotel.

This room was booked back in February for us coming from Ontario to BC for our daughter’s wedding. Air Canada canceled our flight last minute and we up having to drive out. After three days of driving we arrived at this hotel only to find out they had cancelled our reservation. They claimed we were a no-show the day before even though I had confirmation that I had messaged and had also called them to change the arrival date to one day later. They couldn’t have cared less about the inconvenience and just blamed Expedia, which it wasn’t there fault. I spoke directly with the hotel but they said I did not even when I showed them the message on my phone. They are rude, uncaring and awful. We will never ever attempt to stay at their hotel when we come to visit our daughter. I won’t ever give them a dime of my money after that nonsense.

This place is relatively biased, and there are fewer taxis than there. The hotel is 1.2km away from lougheed station. It is very inconvenient to go by car every day in winter. This hotel is not a good choice for Chinese people, but this The hotel is relatively cheap. If you want to live a little better, it is recommended to be more convenient in metrotown. There is a small train station next to it. There is also a Regent Plaza and Datonghua Supermarket. You can eat Chinese food and buy some domestic ones. Other things are that there will be more Chinese people there. They can speak Mandarin, which is convenient for eating and shopping. After all, there is a large shopping mall there, and it is more convenient to take a car.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Burnaby location in order to attend a dinner function nearby. We checked into our room and the heater was already on and set at 68 and seemed to be working OK. Shortly after we arrived in the room, a maintenance person knocked on the door to see how the heater was working. That should have clued us in as to what would happen next. A bit later, the unit started to spit out cooler air. I might add that the unit never cycled off and on as it should. I turned the unit up to around 72 to see if that would make a difference but no it did not. We contacted the front desk and within 5 minutes, maintenance came to check. We were told that the heater had to remain at 68, no higher or it wouldn’t work. I have never heard of such a thing. High temperature in Vancouver was mid 40's dipping into the 30's at night. By this time, it was 5:30 and we had to head out the door for the dinner event at 6PM. I wish we would have demanded a different room, because when we returned it was definitely cooler in the room. We were both tired and needed to leave the hotel early in the morning so we decided to “gut it out”. I looked for additional blankets and there were none. I wound up sleeping a total of 2 hours in my coat. This was not a comfortable experience.  I am generously giving this property 2 stars as the room itself was clean and the bedding was comfortable. The front desk clerk kindly gave us a 50% discount for our discomfort which was the best she could do, but when I contacted their HQ was offered a 50% discount off a future stay. Don't think I will take them up on that offer, but thanks anyway.

I had a one night stay before boarding a cruise ship in Vancouver. I booked this DUMP online. My God, it was horrible. The drapes were falling apart....The floor was tacky underfoot. You could not use the shower because the hot water handle was totally loose. I was in room 9. There was no stopper in the wash basin. So we took a sponge bath. I did call to the front desk and he offered to change us to room 10. I declined because I didn't think it could be much better. My advice, you'd be better off sleeping in your car. That's how bad it was. Air conditioner - we could not seem to shut off. It was one of those tiny things in the wall. We didn't need it because it was in the 50's.
