Hotels Near Izakaya Aun In Isesaki Review
Hotels with hot springs, although very small hot springs, but relax very well, breakfast is good, but a little far from the station. The supermarket next door is quite big and the fruit is delicious.
the hotel stuffs are great , it is very close to metro station and some fastfood around, the room is bigger than i think,i open the luggage and still have space to walk it has a spa on 14 th floor i live in 13 th floor, the room can view Mount Akagi with snow every morning,it is great need to pay 800 yen per day for parking
The positives: The hotel sits right next to the station so location wise it was good. The negatives: Arrived late in the night. The car lifts were closed as there was no one to man them? I had to park at a private parking facility a street away from the hotel. That is already a minus. Usually there is an arrangement with the hotel for discounted parking in these type of cases - there wasn't. Paid the usual rates. There was only one staff at the reception counter at night. He had to attend to all aspects of the checking in. Had to wait quite a few times while he attended to the other guests. Could have been better staffed. The room itself was very disappointing. There was a long corridor pass the toilet to get to the room. It was L shaped. The extra bed blocked up most of the walking space. It was just put on the floor on a slightly raised wooden frame. It felt like sleeping on the floor literally. Had no space to even open my luggage. The carpets were old and grimy. The toilet was tiny and old. The finishings were very worn. The plastic fittings have all turned yellow. The air purifier was put at one corner with no nearby socket to plug it in. Had to shift it myself to another location next to the TV to plug it in. For the price paid - not really worth it. No breakfast included. I won't come back.
We stayed at Kanraku Honjo Waseda for one night as a cheaper alternative to the hotels in Karuizawa. On the website, the hotel seemed no-frills but new, clean and adequate. However, the actual hotel was nothing but no-frills. The hotel itself is cheaply-built in a warehouse-like structure. You can feel people walking outside your room as the floor shakes. I was glad that we were at the second floor as guests in the first floor must feel like earthquake all the time. The room was as tiny as most hotels in Tokyo (despite Honjo Waseda being a sparsely-developed area), had only two working power outlets and lacked basic amenities like cloth hanger. Wi-Fi reception was bad and unencrypted. The hotel claimed to use Simmons mattresses, but our bed had two springs protruding from the mattress and was one of the worst bed I had experienced in a hotel. The front desk staff speak enough English to let you know that when you felt they were being rude, they were just being rude and not because language issues. Most amenities were self-service near the front desk. When we asked the staff about extra pillows and yukata, one answered "If they are out, they are out. You can check-in earlier next time you stay." The communal bath was one of the specialties listed on the hotel website, as they claimed that every single drop of water in the hotel was specially-treated. However, the bath smelled like a combination of sweat and human waste. The breakfast provided by the hotel was mediocre and the selection was limited, but comparing the everything else at this hotel, it was at least acceptable. For people looking for cheaper lodging around Karuizawa, I would recommend trying hotels in Takasaki or just stay in Karuizawa, and avoid Kanraku Honjo Waseda like plague.
There is a bathtub and a sauna in the large public bath, and the aroma of cypress trees floats in the bathroom. I feel very relaxed. Comfort is also substantial, the room is clean, and you can spend comfortably. It is a pity that consecutive holidays and weekends overlap and the parking lot behind the hotel is full.
Very basic, but clean and acommadating! This is a no frils business hotel at a very affrodable and reasonable rate! I would recommend it as many of the other hotels in the area are not up to the some housekeeping standards.
