Beds were clean and comfortable. Front desk staff service was friendly and professional. After the 1st night, was woken up by drilling and hammering noises at 9 plus in the morning. Breakfast in room dining was ordered at 930am, arrived at 1150am as in doom dining department could not cope w the huge amount of orders. Was informed that our breakfast would arrive at 1130am. So first day, wasn't impressed w renovation noises that disrupted our sleep and a breakfast that was more of brunch. Did request for room change and was given another room. Air conditioning in the new room was not working well n had to request for a fan. Overall, the old building and maintenance of the hotel would place it as a 4 star hotel rather than a 5-star rating. Tried calling in a week beforehand to ask about early check-in and pool reservations but nobody picked up the line the entire morning. Finally when I emailed in, I had a response.
Was informed that I could early check-in at 2 pm on the morning itself, but when I went down at 2.05 pm, the room was still not ready. Fortuitously, we were upgraded when we finally checked in at 3.50 pm. They also gave us a sweet surprise when they found out that we were there to celebrate our anniversary :’) really made our stay feel more special!
Housekeeping / Guest services never picked up the phone whenever we dialled in, so we had to keep going down to the reception whenever we had queries or needed something. But their aren’t a lot of floors, so it wasn’t tooo much of a hassle.
Apart from these caveats, everything else was great! The hotel provides free flow mini bar (except for alcohol and snacks) which includes juice, soft drinks, Nespresso capsules and TWG tea selection. In fact, the housekeeping would come round in the afternoon asking if you needed a top up. Swimming pool and gym are ready for use and slots were easy to book. Everything is really new and spic and span. Toilet is fitted with the bidet system that warms and cleans you. There’s a huge rain shower, a TV in front of the bath tub, including a metal rack where you can place your drinks / phone; and the room is fitted with a really good Sonos speaker and the TV supports AirPlay! So we could stream music and movies from my laptop to the TV / speakers easily. On the bedside table, they also provide wireless charging as well as universal adapters at their charging ports - really convenient!
Breakfast was extensive. Highly recommend the prata, toast set, big breakfast and three tiered cheese and cold cuts. They can also make ala carte items if you want. Only point to note is that breakfast ends rather early at 10.30 am! We had to force ourself out of bed early on our “holiday” to make it for breakfast.
All in all, would highly recommend a stay at Capitol Kempinski :) really great service albeit their habit of not picking up the phone.. FromUS$204.00

Stayed for 4 nights in a Palm Court Suite as part of 70th birthday celebrations. Arrived late after overnight flight from London weary but excited. From the moment we stepped into the entrance lobby till the moment we sadly left this was pure unadulterated luxury delivered with an understated customer service which is second to none. The birthday cake and celebrations with the butlers started the celebrations and throughout the stay the attention to detail was first class. The hotel recently refurbished is a fantastic blend of colonial splendour with all the latest technology blended into the fabric of its operation. The grand lobby is breath taking, the writers bar an excellent way to spend an hour or so in conversation after dinner with an extraordinary choice of cocktails and spirits, and the restaurants are the icing on the cake. Breakfast offers every option possible and if it’s not on show ask for it - The Tiffin for Indochine food in the evening is very good and well worth a visit - room service adds another level to the options for a lazy evening relaxing. Our visit to the Long Bar and the infamous Singapore Sling was late morning before the queues and crush started and well worth the effort as is the outside restaurant for light lunches. The room itself was very spacious, and like the rest of the hotel maintained to the very highest standards with plenty of gadgets to ensure a relaxing and restful stay. In the heat of the day the roof top pool was an absolute delight along with pool side service for drinks and fresh fruit and later on cocktails in the pool bar. If your thinking of a holiday location post vivid then add Raffles to your list - cannot wait to return again perhaps linked to a F1 GP. FromUS$645.00

Great service by all staff upon check-in, at the gym & swimming pool, at breakfast, housekeeping & also upon check-out. Very happy we received free upgrade for our room and it had a beautiful view in the bedroom & also in the huge bathroom with bathtub! We even received a brownie for our anniversary celebration.
F&B staff at breakfast were friendly and accommodating but the food quality and variety can be improved for the breakfast set menu since there is no buffet now. Gym & swimming pool was clean and easy to book. Wonderful location of hotel and complimentary parking was a bonus. Thank you for the wonderful stay :)FromUS$117.00

Well trained, helpful and friendly staff, tasteful decor and design of the common areas (lobby, pool facilities and lounge), great breakfast.
Studio room was a bit small in the bedroom area but the bathroom is huge. Waterproofing/water guarding of the shower door doesn't keep water out completely hence it seeps to the bedroom area

With my wife's first trip to Singapore, contact the hotel in advance and hope to arrange a higher floor. The check-in is on the 8th floor and I am very satisfied. The hotel has Chinese services and is very convenient for communication. There is a capsule coffee machine and capsule coffee in the room. When you use it, it will be replenished every day. The refrigerator also has a drink, which is the same. Also have to mention that the hotel provides two small kettles, very easy to use, I asked the hotel staff before leaving, can take it away, the hotel staff said yes, this is yours, I am now returning to the country carry. The location is very good, able to walk to all the attractions of the city, churches, museums, Merlion, Ferris wheel, Chinatown, Clarke Quay, Singapore is very small. Of course, if we take a taxi, we use Grab during the period. They are basically Chinese drivers, and communication is once again accessible. The hotel's 10th floor is a swimming pool, very quiet, comfortable both day and night, night view at night, unobstructed front direction, a glass of cold beer, sitting by the pool and looking far away, very relaxing! There is a small bar downstairs in the hotel. There are many Southeast Asian dishes on the street behind the hotel. There is a 7-11 at the crossroads and a diagonal opposite cheers convenience store. You can't use Alipay, you can only swipe your card or cash. When we are all right, we will go downstairs in the evening to go around and experience the quiet streets of Singapore. During this period of travel with the SRV, I was pleasantly surprised at the way my trip was. I was told previously by my friends who stayed at the hotel that their stay wasn't very pleasant and to be honest. I wanted to give up the stay as I did not want to br greeted by such an experience. But after much convincing by my partner, I agreed to give it a shot.
After hearing how other people have tried to check in but ended up with late check ins. I was quickly checked in and got my room less than half an hour upon reaching the hotel.
The room really felt like a boutique hotel, the design and the layout was really spectacular. We celebrated my birthday and anniversary and was really surprised when we received a card and a cake from the hotel.
All in all, we had a great time and will definitely go back to visit again. Great job grand park hotel and team.
Oh and also, trip.com must have one of the fastest customer support for hotel aggregators around.

Booked the Artist Suite for a staycation to celebrate Vday. Hotel setup is nice with cozy bed, beautiful balcony with outdoor bathtub. Excellent customer service as the staffs, namely Niezan and Joel, made effort to decorate the room with balloons, lovely swans, rose petals wordings beautifully decorated on the bed. Even helped receive rose bouquet and called me privately, so to give a nice surprise to my partner. What's most impressive is they even helped me find a restaurant just 2 days before Vday due to the actual restaurant I have booked cancelled my reservation.
Lastly, it's location is along a stretch of nice restaurants and bars. Bugis Junction, Raffles City Shopping Centre and Chjimes are within 15 mins walking distance.
I highly recommend this hotel not just because of its nice room but also excellent customer service. Made u feel like a VIP. FromUS$70.00

The front office staff no smile at all when on my checked-in time. Given me a wrong form which was not under my name and asked me to sign. 2.10pm check-in told me my room is not ready: when I corrected him by name, then the room is ready. Lyf is located right in the middle of City Hall where it is accessible to Fort Canning Park and other places of interest. The location was particularly great because it is within walking distance to our favourite destinations. The room was nice and gave a homely feel. You may find that the tiles in the toilet resembles the one you find in public washroom, except that the cleanliness was definitely better. The toilet flush, however, wasn't that strong and I had to flush multiple times before the toilet bowl is clean. I don't blame Lyf for that as I am located on a high floor, so it is inevitable to have low flush and water pressure. The facilities within Lyf was great! There is kitchen for you to showcase your inner Michelin Star cooking. If you're feeling lethargic, there is an open gym and a hamster wheel for you to run indefinitely. There is also a dart machine! Nice right? After spending a night in Lyf, I woken up with insect bites on by body in the middle of the night. Surely there can't be mosquito in an enclosed space right? Nope it wasn't mosquito. I suspected that it was bed bug. So when I pull the bed sheets over, I was shocked to find blood stains (first sign of bed bug presence) within the crease of the the mattress itself. A quick research will suggest that the presence of bed bug can be identified by their blood stain marks (from sucking people's blood of course). Then upon further investigation, I managed to find a bed bug that was crawling around. You can check out the attached photo as a picture speaks a thousand words. All in all I wouldn't say that my stay was bad, or Lyf deserve a 1 star for their cleanliness. In fact it was actually quite good except for the bed bugs. To be fair, I just thought that I might be unlucky, but it wasn't too big of a deal. I'd still recommend Lyf!FromUS$70.00

Actually requested for highest floor with amazing view but they didn’t fulfil my request. It’s okay, they also mention to make advance booking for swimming pool and so we did, but pool is fully booked, felt so disappointed. During check in we try our luck again for the pool, lucky there is last 3 slot of us. Around 7pm went swimming, but no one was there. (Wonder why they say it’s fully book) 😕 In the afternoon try to make booking for pool again, again they say fully book. We didn’t bother to go down to check.
Aside from that, we do appreciate the gifts that comes in the package that include late check out at 6pm, inclusive of breakfast and semi lunch buffet for 2 adults. Room was very spacious and clean. Overall we are happy with our stay there. Definitely we come again. FromUS$194.00

Great location, nice room. The only thing to take note is when you are checking in, to check your booked room if it's the same written on the paper before signing. What happened was we booked urban king room and upon checking in they wanted us to sign on the check in docs, it was written hollywood twin room (FYI, obviously a much cheaper room, totally disrespecting the fact that the customer book and paid a price based on their room preference). Receptionist did not even bother to inform you that they change the room based on their own decision and expect you to just sign it, prolly hoping you won't notice. When question, they will say there is no more king room avail. We insisted and told to wait for an hour for the urban king room. Customer service over at the reception could be better. Cleanliness of the room, found a few hair strands in the bathtub (Not what anyone would have expected during a COVID period), rain shower head leaking and bursting out water at the top like a fountain, we called to request for a top up of shampoo and body wash and got to know there is an additional charge for it. Due to travelling restrictions, my husband and I are confined to looking for staycation as our honeymoon after we got married this year. We had a really enjoyable stay in Shangri-la. We requested for earlier check-in at 12PM and was told that it will be subject to availability. When we arrive at the hotel at around 12PM, we were pleasantly surprised to be told that we are given a free upgrade to Valley Wing Deluxe Room and given access to the exclusive lounge with drinks, high tea and canapés available for us.
We had our dinner later on at Waterfall Restaurant which was part of the package that we bought on Trip.com. The 3-course meal that we had was really delicious with great atmosphere as we were seated outdoors at the pool side.
The service provided to us was impeccable. Perhaps the only small downside is the accessibility of the hotel if you don't drive. We pretty much stayed in the hotel during our entire trip so it wasnt really a big factor.
Would love to visit Shangri-la again in future :)

I booked for my fiancé's birthday and in lieu to celebrate New Years. Firstly, early check in was given as to prevent the crowd during the New Years Eve. Very smart move made by the hotel which I am very thankful for! It helps to control the crowd.
Trip.com has emailed me to WhatsApp the hotel as were told by the hotel to request for early check in. Replies by the hotel staffs were fast too!
After checking in, I called to reserve the pool but it was sad I could not go as it was raining! The room was rather small but that's fine by me! The shampoo and body wash given smells nice! I usually do not use hotel's shampoo/bodywash but this hotel's toiletries was quite nice! The view from the toiler was not bad too! You need to of course close the blind to have a private shower. Was given free macaroons delivered by the robots to my room as it was my fiancé's birthday! Super kind gesture made by the hotel staffs! We were super touched!
The next day, when I went down to pick up my breakfast as I choose to take away(can select to dine in or take away), the staff could not find my breakfast order as my breakfast order was misplaced by one of the staffs (the one I gave my order sheet to) But that's okay because I did not mind waiting for them to pack my food again.
I was also granted late check out!
Overall, pleasant stay! The team was all very friendly and approachable. Thank you!

Booked 3 rooms for family staycation. I would like to thank Ms Dillah and Mun kind assistance in arranging an earlier check-in for the 2 rooms. Front desk staff are all friendly and helpful.
The room is spacious and clean. Water pressure of the bathroom is good!
However, I was kind of disappointed that the club lounge did not open. Nevertheless, they do send food and drinks to our room at 6pm, and will refill our drink every 45mins. The lady that serve the drinks and the guy that serve the food was very nice and friendly. The food (chicken chop with truffle mash potatoe) is DELICIOUS, and the white wine (requested during 2nd serving) they offered is nice!!! But didn't had chance to ask what is the brand, as I left the room after 2nd serving. Not sure how long they serve the drink, I guess till 7:30pm?
Great location, so we can easily bring our parents to Haji lane to walk around and feel as though we are on vacation.
Ginger Restaurant decoration is lovely!!! But the breakfast serve at Ginger restaurant was pretty average to me... Wouldn't mind having as a package, but wouldn't pay the price for the kind of food serve. Service at the restaurant were much slower too as staff tend to look at the floor instead of the guest. But its CNY so I shall not comment much. But there's one aunty that serve food with big lovely smile. Its a petty that I didn't take note of her name.
Overall experience staying in Park Royal Hotel Beach Road is good! Would definitely recommend if you are looking at staycation situated at convenience location filled with hipster cafe and nice restaurant.

From booking communication through email, Aisyah was the best. Everything went smooth and all our requests was accommodated. Even the room upgrade. Thank you so much Aisyah! :)
Check in was smooth and Vin was really friendly and welcoming. As for the room (1015), it was almost perfect! Room was spacious enough for two and the view was AMAZING!!! Truly a panoramic view. Balcony was great, but it would have been better if there was a brighter light for lounging out during the evening.
Only improvement I guess would be some of the staff being more friendly specially by the pool and beach area. In other Shangri-la, guests would go directly to the beds and a staff will bring the towels and some water for refreshments. We did not experience this here in Rasa Sentosa. Not sure if this is because of covid. But it would still be great if the staff would in those areas be more welcoming and friendly.
Overall, had a great time and had a great birthday celebration. We would definitely come back for another quick getaway from the city. Thank you so much!

Only 2 bottled water allowed per room. Request for more bottled water was refused. Water kettle was not working well, kept leaking and unsafe for usage. Had to go to plaza singapura to buy 5L of bottled water from cold storage. Upon request for shavers, they could only provide 1 shaver per room even though 2 pax check in. Extremely unhygienic, luckily we brought alcohol wipes.
Doors are not soundproof and can hear other neighbor’s doors slamming very loudly in the middle of the night. Request for late checkout also turned down even though hotel not fully booked (upon checking, there were many rooms available for booking on trip.com)
TV keeps disconnecting too
At this price point, suggest staying at D’hotel @ tiong bahru instead. Better service and not stingy.
