Stayed overnight in Dunstable A5 Premier Inn Hotel after a funeral. We always stay at Premier Inn when travelling they are usually clean, well run lovely comfortable beds and reasonable prices. We have not stayed at Dunstable before , it wasn’t one of our favourites and probably wouldn’t stay again if we had other choices. The hotel does not have air conditioning, a wall heater in the winter and a fan for the summer. Unfortunately I struggled to get the room to a suitable temperature and it shut off overnight so we were cold in the morning after a particularly cold night with frost on the cars. The breakfast and evening meal were both good and a good price. However there signs all around the hotel of wear and tear there were broken steps and unstable path to the restaurant made worse in the dark by poor lighting. Nothing a good amount of diy and money spent on the hotel wouldn’t fix but I have to mark it relevant to my stay. One other helpful point if you choose to stay here is you need to put your room card in an electronic slot inside the room by the door to switch on the power, we were not told so we’re left floundering for a while. Not up to Premier Inns normal good standards this time I’m sorry to say.

We visited yesterday for lunch before heading off to Harry Potter World. After doing some research on Tesco Clubcard website (wanted to convert some of our Tesco Clubcard vouchers up) We were very hesitant to go to The Two Brewers due to some of the negative reviews and as we were travelling over 100 miles, we wanted to go somewhere that didn't disappoint and didn't put a dampener on our much needed family time (And something we've been waiting since Christmas 2018 to do!) but we ignored the reviews and thought we'd give it a try as we liked the look of the place, it was in a suitable location to get to Harry Potter World, the menu looked yummy, had a varied range of dishes which nicely catered for everyone (including 4 children ranging from 5-13years of age and a vegetarian), the prices were very reasonable, the staff were very friendly, helpful and they were all great with the children too. With both my partner and I working within the catering trade, sometimes it's better to ignore the negative reviews and go with an open mind and thankfully that's what we done! We had a little wait here and there but we expected it as it was Friday, it's half term and we could see it was busy when we pulled up into the car park. Luckily for us, we'd looked at the menus on the way down and knew what we'd like so gave the waitress our order when we got seated. The food came out quicker than we expected but everything was freshly cooked, looked great and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. If there's anything to criticise, I'd say that the Mushroom and Ale Pie was slightly over cooked and the pastry was a bit tough but with a bit of gravy it softened up.(maybe a little more gravy would be a bonus too but I'm sure if I'd asked, someone would have got me some!) We didn't have puddings as we were full from our main meals but I'd like to say, we'll be back at some point and hopefully to stay too! Thank you very much to those members of staff for making the first part of our long awaited trip enjoyable and that we were right to ignore the negative reviews. We'll be back!

We booked our stay for one night, immediately after booking I realised it was the incorrect date. I rang booking and the hotel less than 15 minutes after booking to see if I could get a refund or change the date in which I was told no by the hotel. This is understandable as it’s due to my own error. Eventually me and my partner decided to still stay as it would have been a waste of money had we not. We didn’t arrive till 10pm or after. We stayed the night, I left 515am as I was working an early shift and my partner stayed in bed. At 10.55 there was shouting and knocking at the door, shouting that check out is 11 and that he had to leave. My partner went down to the reception to hand in the key where him and myself were accused of smoking marijuana in the room that night and that there had been reports of it. We then said it was not us, because it was not us and the man said we were the only people on that floor. If that were the case where had all these so called reports come from and why at no point had anyone come to inspect the room that night. May I add there was no smell of marijuana at all during are stay which pushes me to believe this was all a huge lie. A lady then was sent to check the room. Upon return she stated the room was perfectly fine and that there was just a wine bottle in the room. The man then asked my partner ‘were you drinking?’ Why on earth was he interrogated and why were we both falsely accused when they had no reason to be do it. It is not illegal to drink in hotel rooms and it’s none of the hotels business that we were, he was quite clearly trying to find any reason to penalise us.The man then said to my partner ‘should you be drinking?’ Which was a comment simply intended to offend my partner as the man presumed he was Muslim. HOW DARE HE ask such questions and make comments like that. It was the most rude conversation to come from a man who supposedly is meant to provide good customer service. I was appalled to hear this story from my partner and feel it was nothing but an attack for no reason or in hope to try and charge us for ridiculous and false allegations.

Arrived at the hotel and parked on the NCP Free Car Park next door which is a real bonus. Had some reservations due to a couple of recent breakdowns(prev posts) but NCP staff were present and its locked up at midnight I believe. Checked in smoothly, i did ring the previous day and requested a room on the 5th floor which was duly arranged. Lovely and quiet, had a great nights sleep. Bed very comfortable and all the usual tea, coffee and TV in the room etc. Breakfast was buffet style the next morning. Manda and Frances were extremely pleasant. The coffee machine was out of mocha and I informed Manda and within minutes it was resolved and she even bought me the drink to my table. The breakfast was all really fresh and good value. I asked the chef for a poached egg and he immediately prepared it for me. You couldn't ask for a nicer group of staff. I didn't venture out into Luton itself as I arrived after 9pm and after breakfast checked out for a flight from Luton Airport. This journey was no more than 10 mins. I could thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I had to stay somewhere by Luton airport for one night as I need a fit to fly cert and also had an early flight. After having been refused a stay by the holiday inn as I didn’t have a letter from the Spanish embassy to say I was being repatriated. Anyway that’s for another review. The Marriott website said I had to have a flight number and my Spanish resident card which I had as it’s only nationals and residents who can fly. The receptionist was lovely polite and welcoming, she allowed me to check in early and arranged for a taxi to take me to the airport at 4.40am she even asked if I needed one with a card reader which unfortunately (as I like to pay for everything in cash) I did. What a shame that the bar area is closed as it’s lovely with booths with a tv in each one. The hotel is absolutely spotless, my room was huge, spotless had a great shower and I could cast Netflix from my phone onto the tv. Sockets by the bed another bonus, a fridge, safe desk and a small table to eat at. If I was to be really picky I only had 2 teabags but I’m confident had I gone downstairs or phoned down I would have got some. This was all for £53 a night. Excellent hotel, excellent service and stay.

Our stay was probably the worst I have experienced and we have been staying in several premier inns across the UK and has seriously put us off coming back again because of the fact we are a young family and was placed on the second floor after asking not to be as we have a one year old son and had to carry all of our bags etc to the other side of the building from the disgusting car park in which you have to pay stupid levels of money just as the general public which parking was a real issues as there was never any free spaces, No non slip math mat and when I asked at reception all I got given was another hand towel which was beyond ridiculous so I had to go back to the room in complete shock as apparently there was none available in the premier inn. The cleanliness of our room could raise some serious concerns as we found a number of issues for example mould growing on the soap dispenser underneath and has clearly not been cleaned in a LONG time, Secondly the room had not been hoovered and there was bits of dirt my year old son kept picking up and nearly eating!!! And finally there was disgusting amounts of tea stains on the wall near the kettle that have not been cleaned ( Images taken to prove) Noise levels was beyond a joke as we barelt slept due to the amount of drunken people that kept coming back to the hotel banging into walls knocking on doors, Believe it or not the planes were the last thing to actually wake us up; again this was reported but no action of been taken so for the three days we were there we also encountered it every night near enough. Now moving onto the cot bed this has to be the single-handedly the worst cot bed I have ever seen in my entire life how the child is expected to sleep on such a hard surface is beyond recognition. I am just glad that I will remember to bring our sons duvet as a soft surface for him to sleep on if we had not remember to bring this and have left a sleep on the rough hard surface the poor guy would never even have slept how do you justify this?
