The hotel is a good hotel for the prices. It is clean and all things functioned as expected. Hot water with good pressure, elevators, powerful hairdryer, small fridge, electric sockets and television. The pool is small and cold but nice. The hotel staff at the reception desk and bellhops greeted us warmly every time we came and went. Rooms are cleaned daily by friendly housekeeping staff. There are private drivers they use, one's name is Cesar. He's very nice and trustworthy. We did not like that our first room had no window with natural light (opened to bldg under construction) so when we asked to be moved, they happily changed our room. We have two gripes: one that there is no real lobby to hang out. There is an area next to the pool with space but there are no tables and only 3 lounge chairs for the pool area. When they lock the pool gate, they also lock the terrace gate which is fairly early in the evening, so if you want to smoke at 9 pm, you must go out to the road. They should keep the terrace open and only lock the pool gate. Our second gripe is with Roberto at breakfast. We ate there 5 mornings. I do not like eating at dirty tables and carry wipes to clean tables when needed. Their tables all have cloths. The first morning, we checked all available tables and none were clean. No problem. We just removed the cloth, didn't matter to us. Roberto got irritated and grumbled that we should request a clean cloth as he grumpily replaced the one we removed. No issues the next day, he was not there. The next two mornings we examined several cloth covered tables, eventually locating one each of those days. Our last morning, we checked seven tables. None were clean. My husband asked Roberto for a clean cloth and he reluctantly brought another. Unfortunately, it too was smeared with jam/butter or coffee. I pointed it out and he snatched it up complaining he's had to change our cloths everyday. First, it was only his second day doing so. Second, shouldn't they be replacing dirty ones with clean ones? At the very least, wipe off the crumbs once a table is cleared. He was pissed. To the credit of the hotel, my husband complained about Roberto's attitude and the restaurant manager apologized to us and later sent up a nice plate of fruit. Wish Roberto had apologized but we were happy the hotel stepped up. The hotel is in a good location, near many things. It is noisy, but Cali is pretty noisy.

The Hotel Dann Cali should be a good choice for a place to stay in Cali for a few days. It is in a nice location in the El Peñon area. I found an attractive room rate online, and there were multiple positive reviews. But my three-day stay there was mostly an unpleasant experience. The Dann Cali is in a tower connected by a walkway over a street to the Hotel Dann Carlton Cali. The Dann Carlton is presumably newer and includes the main checkin desks, the bar, and other functions. The Dann Cali feels very much like a poor cousin to the main component. Getting to your hotel room means taking two elevators and using your hotel key card to open two passage doors, to say nothing of using it in the elevators. The inconvenience and tediousness of these treks starts to mount after a day or two. There were a number of conventions and meetings, which meant the elevators were frequently overwhelmed, and long waits were the outcomes. Taking the stairs made good sense in these circumstance, and the benefit of the exercise is not to be overlooked. The hotel advertises a pool and hot tub, but, bizarrely, the pool is surrounded by the hotel restaurant. Anyone who wanted to swim would be in the middle of diners having a meal. In the three and a half days I was there I did not see a single person using the pool or hot tub. Both my partner and myself really wanted to use the pool because of the hot Cali weather but just felt it would be too weird because of the layout. This was a major shortcoming for us A simple request to get a corkscrew to open a few bottles of wine turned into a completely ridiculous and protracted process. The concept of customer service and helping guests was in short supply. The room wireless was grossly inadequate. It would repeatedly kick us off devices, making it necessary to sign back in multiple times while were attempting to use them. It frequently functioned poorly or not at all. This is a real problem for people whose devices do not have cellular capacity. The wireless was generally much stronger in the lobby. In the current era good quality wireless service is a baseline expectation in hotels. When the room wireless failed to function when checking in for an airline flight, I turned to the business center on the main floor. Two of the three computers appeared not to function. The third did - very very slowly - but I had to go to the front desk to obtain paper. Hot water was frequently in short supply in the shower. We made the mistake of eating a late lunch in the hotel restaurant one day. The service was abysmally slow. Our server actually disappeared about halfway through the meal and was never seen again. Overall the food was at best average. The room itself was quite nice, and the bed was comfortable. So at a very minimal level, the basic accommodation function of renting a room was acceptable. So while the Hotel Dann Cali might be attractive because of price and location, I strongly suggest

There's no lobby and the single front door has an armed guard 24/7. Shift change is 6 & 6.Tip'em. There's no room service, just breakfast. Which is a no frills Colombian breakfast. Arepa, huevos, instant coffee and a whole un-peeled specimen of local fruit. They might make you pancakes but don't het crazy. Colombians never heard of an Ihop. The hotel is in the center of the action when it comes to night life. The hot salsa joints are a 5 minute cab-ride away. You can walk around the neighborhood and find world class dining and drinking. Don't walk south of la quinta (fifth avenue). Take a taxi at that point. Ask your hotel people if they know a taxi driver that you can hire by the hour. They'll take you wherever and wait for you while you eat & shop and stuff. That sort of thing shouldn't cost more than tennish dollars an hour. Make sure you know what room you're staying in. There's only two suites with a hammock & a view. The rest of the rooms are what you find in monasteries turned boutique hotel. They keep the fridge stocked with the best beer and aguardiente. Antigua Contemporánea, one of the best restaurants in the city, is just around the corner. Ask Giovanni if he can make you dinner reservations in advance. Platillos Voladores is also a fine place to enjoy exotic local cuisine. If you want to try a traditional Colombian steak house, try Simón Parrilla. Colombians actually butcher cows differently, and they have a steak called 'baby beef', which doesn't exist in the states. If you like steak, don't leave Cali without trying one blue.

my very first time staying across the street from the soccer stadium. be warned when the soccer teams play the streets are crowded with all types of people from all types of neighborhoods. when they wear red, that means wear blue or white. not GREEN. THE hotel features a cool small pool with great views. the location is near university hospital incase of emergency . they have a night club outside the hotel but they aren't affiliated , different owners but the interior is like a pirate ship, very nice. The only good thing I can say is the staff seemed pleasant, although NO ONE spoke any language aside from Spanish. You would think in a hotel there would be some bilingual accommodations but there was not. Traveling on business and needed an extended stay location that was reasonable, I chose this hotel based on good reviews. WRONG MOVE. It is nothing like the pictures and i have provided my own. The "Included Breakfast" is the same runny eggs and ham every day. The pool fits 2 maybe 3 people at best and it is closed on multiple days. The King Suite is not a suite at all. The bathroom smells of sewer, the water pressure is poor and hot water is rare. The AC unit runs and drips all night. The hotel is located on a busy street with police cars and sirens that blare all night long, not to mention the drives who honk their horns all night. The walls are paper thin so you can hear the staff listening to music and talking throughout the evening hours. There were dead bugs in the room either smashed on the walls or under the bed. The balcony streamed water into the room and the floors were wet randomly. The room kept a mildew smell at all times and was not cleaned daily. They did not provide wash cloths or multiple towels i had to provide my own. I was charged $135 US dollars for eating 4 chocolate bars, 3 bottles of water, and 2 sodas from the counter (they called bar) in the room. Due to the language barrier i couldn't dispute the charges and was trying to get out of there to catch my flight after a ten day nightmare. Upon check in they didn't even understand i had paid for the most expensive room and kept taking me from floor to floor in the most disgusting rooms until i showed them online pictures. At which time even the most expensive room still was not what i expected as it is what i have detailed. Full of bugs, bad water pressure, an odor, not cleaned, etc. If that was the best room on the highest floor you can only imagine what the other rooms entailed. In a nutshell if you are traveling from another country do not choose this location. Stay with familiar chain hotels like Marriott, Hilton, etc. You will have a more pleasant stay, and its worth just paying the extra money. Locals may find this acceptable but its not. I have to come back to Colombia next month on business and i have already reserved stay at the Marriott I refuse to come back to this hotel even if it was free. I have attached pictures of the roach motel. I am praying the Marriott greets me with English speaking associates and a more comfortable stay.

This swanky hotel could not be decorated better! The employees went above and beyond to meet our needs with friendliness and willingness to help! However, the only issue we had was cleanliness and just a few details needed to be tweaked. Issues like crumbs on the restaurant tables when we sat down, dust on the benches so we didn’t want to sit with nice clothes on, chairs not wiped down in room, hair on towels and sheets, hair on the floor by the hot tubs on the terrace...just some little things in cleaning that definitely needed to be fixed! Small details like couch pillows upside down, no coffee maker in room except an electric water kettle with instant coffee and Dixie cups, three hair conditioners in bathroom but no shampoo or body wash...little details that would have made this place really good because the employees were great! The food at lunch in the restaurant was very good, the breakfast wasn’t great though. We were served coffee and Italian soda in the lobby which was a nice gesture. Great view of the city from the terrace and river from our suite. A bit far from shopping and dining options though. We would definitely like to try this hotel again if they could just smooth out some details and really clean it well. They even copied their really cool lobby music for us on a memory stick!

Have stayed many times at Cali Marriott since the hotel opened, they always exceed expectations with food, service and rooms. Central location and always feel safe in the hotel and surrounding areas. The entire property is highly maintained, very clean and fresh. Executive lounge has super variety of food and beverage options, with exceptional service. And the full breakfast buffet at the Market Restaurant is one of the best of any hotel we have experienced. The Executive and Sous Chefs often come out and check on the guests. Management is always walking around the entire property and engaged with the guests, and we love the special events they bring in, such as high-end fashion shows. Their transportation department can easily arrange airport pick up and drop off service at reasonable charges (high recommended). For a full service luxury property, this is the only place to stay in Cali.

This was probably the nicest place we stayed during our travel around eje cafetero region. The rooms were clean and comfortable with beautiful decor, the common areas well taken care of and each detail of the doctor well thought of. The staff was really nice, offered coffee/tea on arrival and would serve one on request as well without a problem in a beautiful coffee cup. The breakfast was great too, fresh fruit and orange juice, pastries and eggs made to order. It is true about possible noise, but we had no problems. Our rooms were facing courtyard and other guests were quiet enough not to cause a problem, maybe it wasn't their busiest season but really there weren't many people outside making noise. You could hear people speaking though if there weren't considerate enough. The parking is not at the same location, so you leave the key when you finish your day and they will park the car for you, by the time we were having breakfast - the car was back outside the hotel waiting for us. The only advice is do not leave any valuables in the car including just a sweater or jacket... I don't want to blame hotel staff or anyone there as we have no prove, but we lost two clothing items that were left in the car, we realized too late when we were already back in Pereira, that's why it's only an advice, I guess better be safe than sorry! The area around the hotel is very nice, fairly quiet, with a lot of restaurants near by, walking distance to some of the most popular salsa clubs too. We were very happy with the quality and charms of the place and the location overall and would definitely recommend it.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Seems to be a very modern hotel with lots of potential. Rooms were clean and spacious. Locations was right next to a big shopping center with lots of shopping and dining options. A couple of things to take into account: - When my mother requested fried eggs for breakfast, staff told her they weren't able to accommodate options outside of the buffet, however when we had breakfast across the street at their sister property, the offering was very similar if not the same and they were able to serve those. - Pool on the top floor was not operational during our stay, and some areas of the hotel seem to be still under construction as it feels quite new. - The restaurant available for dinner was the one across the street at their sister property, though the food was very good, the service has a lot of room for improvement. It was half an empty restaurant, and it took them quite a while to tend to our table provide drinks, menus, and deliver the food across from the kitchen pass. Feels like the manager was more busy on his computer at the front desk of the restaurant, than being worried about helping his staff. If this can be improved there is potential to have an excellent restaurant. We had better service at many places at the mall next door of the hotel.

My husband and I booked this hotel for 6 nights and were really looking forward to it based on the mostly good reviews and appealing pictures. Unfortunately when we arrived it was just one disappointment after another. We we caught up in road blockades whilst trying to get to Cali from Popayan and it took us almost three days to get there which meant we missed the first two nights of our booking but had kept the hotel informed of our movements throughout the journey. They had ignored our first message then on the second day cancelled our booking completely. When my husband messaged them a second time they replied to confirm our booking was still held and the room still available. We eventually arrived on the third night of our stay. The receptionist didn't speak English so we communicated through Google Translate. He seemed to have trouble locating our booking on the computer even though I had the booking open on my phone to show him. He eventually told us that there were no double rooms available, only singles and led us to a room. We assumed he meant two single beds instead of a double bed and were fine with this after such a long journey and just wanted to get in the room so followed him. To our surprise it was a very small room with ONE single bed. For the TWO of us. He made a very quick exit without giving us any information on the breakfast that was included with our booking or providing the wifi password. He was either too embarrassed by the situation we'd been put in or just couldn't be bothered to stick around to rectify it. My husband went back to reception shortly after we decided it was ridiculous to share a single bed in a tiny room and after looking on the booking app, we discovered it was showing double rooms available for the duration of our stay. There was a different guy at reception this time who spoke English. When asked 'why did you give us a single bed room when there were doubles available?' The response was 'well you accepted the single room.' Every answer he gave was vague and it really was very poor service from both members of staff we encountered. We eventually were let into a double room after he called his manager. Why we weren't just given that room in the first place I will never know and the hotel should be embarrassed to expect two people to share a single bed. The double room was very nice we had cable TV, towels and toiletries provided. Breakfast on the first morning was good and consisted of fruit, juice, ham and cheese omelette, hot chocolate, toast, butter and jam. On the second day nobody was around to serve us breakfast so we had to go down to redeption and notify them we were waiting. The hot chocolate this time had a funny after taste as if the milk was on the turn. On the third day we asked for our usual ham and cheese omelette but instead were given scrambled eggs, no butter or jam provided for the toast, the cutlery we were given was so dirty it still had food on it and I couldn't finish the ho

Excellent value for money. We visited during the Feria de Cali, peak period. Price was very reasonable and we (basically) got a nice one bedroom apartment. Hotel and rooms were very clean. Location is very good (north of the city) and staff is very kind. Breakfast (included for our room) is basic (continental breakfast) but gets the job done. The only downside we saw during our stay is that noise from other apartments/rooms tends to travel through the ventilations. In our apartment, this ventilation was at the kitchen so it didn’t really disturb our sleep after we started closing the door that separates the bedroom from the living room/kitchen area. Overall, we had a great stay and would stay here again when visiting Cali.

My room was luxurious and relaxing, the A.C came in handy; cleaning staff was the best. Meals were the best and, the staff were really nice and always looked out for me. Beatriz is also a wonderful host. As this trip was my first time outside of the U.S., I definitely felt welcomed to Colombia and felt right at home. I would recommend this hotel to everyone I know and I would definitely come back again. Wonderful experience!

The overall condition of the hotel is outdated. The cleanliness of the room is very good, the room is large and you can see the view. The soundproofing outside is very good, especially the breakfast in the restaurant next to the swimming pool.

This is my second trip to Cali, and my first time in this neighborhood. The Now is a lovely place, heavy on design. Built around a courtyard, with a terrace on the roof, it is very open. I asked for a room with a balcony, and I'm glad I did. I dont speak Spanish, but whenever I encountered staff that didnt speak english, they were always very friendly and accommodating. They helped me get by. I'm giving 4 stars because the hotel is a great value in a great location, but there are some gaps. The lighting in the rooms is atrocious. The only lights in the large room were some (pretty) globe lights hanging from the ceiling. It is impossible to read or write with the lighting the way it is. Next, the air conditioning is a joke. The room has one of those systems where you put your key card in a slot to "power on" the room when you are there, which saves money when you are not; I get it. But the a/C is a wall mounted unit, nowhere close to the bed, that doesnt cool down the room fast enough to be usable. Cali is a very humid, tropical city and while the locals may be used to it, I'm certain that travellers like me are not. Next; the furniture. It is pretty, but unusable. The couch is basically on the ground; there are no legs. Ditto with the coffee table; it is like a table top resting on the ground. Getting up and down off the couch is tougher than it should be, which means it doesnt get used, which means why even have it there. This isnt an art gallery; it is a hotel. There should be function AND form. All that said, it was a great value, friendly service and great location. I would recommend this hotel, as long as you dont plan on spending too much time in your room.
