Honestly, I’m really disappointed. The room was just alright—not what I expected—but the real issue was the girl at reception on the 5th of May 2025. I booked a room with a city view, and that’s not what I got. When I politely asked about it, she immediately got rude, defensive, and dismissive. She claimed there are no rooms with city views at all—so was the listing just a lie? Either way, it felt like I was being talked down to instead of helped. It was my first time in Manchester and definitely not the welcome I hoped for. If this is how staff are trained to treat paying guests, something needs to change. Either that staff member seriously needs retraining, or management should start paying more attention to what's happening at reception. First impressions matter—and this one was a letdown.

Great value for money ! Does what it says on the tin ! It's a quirky Ibis Styles, great location 5 mins walk from Picadilly station. Very friendly staff with good local knowledge. Rooms and reception have quirky decor, I do appreciate that they made an effort. Very Styles! Room is compact but has everything you need, nice practical side table and a fake grass cube to sit on. Bathroom roomy and spotlessly clean. USB A and sockets next to each side of the bed, no USB C though ..... Good price for a mid week, I'm very happy with my choice !

Room no 015 was a lower ground with hardly any natural light from the window. There was a constant noise from a water pipe we assume. The bathroom door was broken off, the shower tray filled up rather quickly, there was no remote for the air con/heater. It wasn’t the cleanest either.

Great location. Clean room and lovely staff. I like the decor too. However my room was next to the lifts and I was woken a number of times in the night by guests coming in late/ leaving early and another guests iphone alarm going off as the soundproofing is not good so would not stay here again as I need sleep more than anything.

Good location - approx 10mins walk from Manchester Piccadilly station. However didn’t feel safe wandering the area in evening on my own. Greeted by receptionist who walked me through self check in machine. Room was well appointed and looked clean. It was truly a pleasure staying in voco hotel at Manchester city center . The bed is cozy, including 2 bottles of water in refrigerator I want to thank for Dilijan’s service, he took special care of my needs that the top management came to stay and I wonder if any room available to check in earlier, he not only did that but also upgraded some other services. I stayed the day before and booked an extra night but had to move room which was very smooth move. Firstly the was a poo stain on the toilet lid when I checked in and then later when I took a bath it was that hot that I burnt the bottom layer of my foot from the water. There is no way it should be running that hot. Then once I managed to cool my foot down and the bath. I burnt 2 of my toes just from touch the side of the taps. A very different experience from my first night stay and you can see from my review

The location is just 10 minutes walk from Manchester Airport Terminal 1. The room is clean but there is no fridge at all. It is a bit out of expectation that the bar and restaurant in the hotel are actually look exactly as its conference halls, I think they just put tables and chairs there in café setting and make it the restaurant, no any decent lighting, furniture, decorations to boost an dining atmosphere, not even sounds like a place for breakfast. You can see from the picture the venue can be reverted back to a conference hall just removing the table sets. A bit disappointed for the dinner of the night's stay as it is at hotel pricing, food is just ok. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, there is nothing close by unless you travel to other areas, the closest walkable location is the airport or the train station.

The hotel doesn’t provide parking although they do have a Q park multi storey car park short walk away and a discount available you need to pre book (can be done the same day). Living in the first floor, the interior decoration is very unsuitable for the Chinese. The bed shelves are carved up and down, left and right, and the characters on the side of the bed. There is also a large mirror on the side of the bed. The left and right sides of the hotel are all bars and restaurants. It will not stop before 3am, especially the sound of drumming, although the sound is not loud, but the rhythm is similar to the heartbeat, which seriously affects the rest. Fortunately, the front desk service attitude is still very good, but also presented early, otherwise the shadow area is bigger.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, and the service is impeccable. The deposit was refunded very quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. I drank two bottles of water, but there was no deduction from the deposit—an unexpected bonus. However, there are a few areas for improvement in the hotel facilities. The blue bed runner is of poor quality; it sheds lint that ends up on the sheets. More attention should be given to the details of room amenities such as bedding and towels. Went here for my birthday just to get away for a couple of days and so glad I did! I had never been to Manchester before, but the location made it so easy - it’s only 10/15 mins away from Manchester Piccadilly, and the street has lots of fantastic bars. The staff couldn’t be more pleasant, and the leisure area was fantastic with great amenities such as the pool, sauna and unlimited towels. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a comfier bed before!

Wow! This is truly the best hotel in Manchester! Every room is unique. The rooms on the first floor have high ceilings which gives it a grandeur feel. The staff are excellent and really pull the stops out to make your stay here extra special. The complimentary drink to meet other hotel patrons between 5-6pm is a welcomed touch. The food in the Refuge restaurant is of a high standard and I can honestly say that their Sunday Roasts are one of the best I have ever had. Breakfast was also of excellent quality. Sunday evening live jazz in the bar creates a great vibe. What I truly like about this 5* hotel is the atmosphere. Unlike most hotels, this hotel does not have that lifeless clinical feel that the majority of hotels who are catering to business clients. There restaurant and bars are of a quality where you would want to go even if you are not lucky enough to stay in the hotel. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Advantages: Good location in the city center, convenient food and transportation, 300 meters away from Picadilly train station, the room and bathroom are large enough, there are capsule coffee, bottled water, small water bar, small refrigerator (powered but not very cold), hair dryer, makeup mirror, shower gel, shampoo, hand soap, large soap (larger than other places), and female hygiene products are also prepared, there is no separate conditioner, disposable slippers are in the bathrobe pocket, and the European area brings its own toothbrush and toothpaste. I have a street-facing room, but it is not noisy. Disadvantages: According to our ordinary East Asian standards, the hygiene is not good, and the room has a smell. The supplies after daily cleaning are sometimes replenished and sometimes not. It seems that it all depends on whether the housekeeper remembers it, but if you ask for it, they are very friendly. Overall, it is not a pitfall

Arrived really late but quick checkin , room clean and bed really comfy , taxi from airport was under 10 mins and cost roughly £15 ( tip included 😊) good nights sleep followed by breakfast which is included in the price , everything from fruit , cereals , yogurt , toast or to set you up for your travels you can have a cooked breakfast, really enjoyed and the staff were lovely, hotel called a taxi for us which arrived really quick and we were on our way back to the station stress free , highly Recommend

Perfect budget friendly hotel. We stayed here for one night and it was just what we needed. Great location, near loads of restaurants and bars. The reception/bar area was cool and quirky. The staff were really friendly from start to finish. We got the no window king room, which had a massive bed and tv which loads of lighting. Was compact but worked well.
