I had a great staycation at Amoy on Sun 15 Nov. Bryan greeted me with warmth and fantastic hospitability. I had a refreshing oolong soda when I checked in and complimentary beers in the room minibar to quench my thirst. I also received a greeting note from Benjamin the manager with some lovely butter cookies. The next day, Benjamin noted that i didnt sleep well because of the rain on Sun night and he offered to extend my check out time to catch up on my sleep. That is so sensitive and thoughtful. The breakfast at Genius Green was sumptous and nutritious, I was fuelled up well for Amoy street tour of cultural monument and history. Bryan and Benjamin were friendly and observant to guest's needs. I will go back again Amoy for my next nightout at Telok Ayer Area.

Set in downtown Singapore in the Telok Ayer neighbourhood, we are a loving tribute to the clan associations that dot Far East Square, Amoy and Cross Street. Often patrons of education and healthcare, clan associations helped Chinese immigrants transition comfortably to life in Singapore, providing opportunities for their communities to succeed.A stylish, unorthodox take on traditional Asian hospitality, The Clan Hotel, Singapore by Far East Hospitality is as fuelled by the cosmopolitan energy that surrounds us as we are inspired by our uniquely Singaporean heritage. We bestow upon our guests the harbour of community, an unyielding sense of kinship and a renewed sense of wonderment as they carve their mark on the world.

Arrived at the hotel more than 1 pm, the staff checked me in. The geographical location is superior. The hotel turns left and goes a few hundred meters to go to Fanglin Pasar. The laksa on Renlong store on the second floor is expensive. It costs 10 coins and it tastes good. The Fujian Bak Kut Teh on the 1st floor is very good. The 4 bowls of coins are good. The soup and ribs taste good, but the herbs taste a little heavier. Turn right at the hotel and turn right for more than ten minutes. There is the Maxwell Food Center on the street. Every day, Hainan Chicken Rice is inside. Unfortunately, the day I went there was not open. I switched to Xingxing Hainan Chicken Rice. I walked about twenty minutes from the hotel to Merlion Park, and only five minutes' walk to Ya Kun for breakfast and coconut toast. It was very convenient to use Google navigation. In the alley near the hotel, there are still some murals of the early Tang people living in Nanyang. You can take a look if you have time.

Good location, close to lots of bars and restaurants in Chinatown. Really close to Chinatown MRT station and walking distance (20-30 mins) to gardens by the bay, marina bay and downtown etc. Hotel itself is good for the price, the room we had was small but it was a really good use of space (the double bunk bed type thing above a living space with a sofa and kettle etc). Air con was a life saver in Singapore heat! Room was a little tired, stains on the wall and a small patch of damp behind the sofa. Also there was a funny smell, which didn’t go away at all during our stay, I think is due to lack of air - the window does not open and as the room is so small I guess with 2 people staying in it it builds up a bit of a smell. But, good for the price. I probably wouldn’t stay again however (due to the smell), though I would maybe try the Galaxy Pods next door which is owned by the same people. The hotel was full (Singapore GP weekend) so I didn’t ask for another room as they wouldn’t have been able to give us one. We walked past one of the other double rooms (bigger without the bunk bed thing) and it looked a bit more modern so my advice would be book one of those! Communal areas were clean but a little tired, one of the sliding bathroom doors was a little temperamental but I made sure I used the other one. Washing and drying facilities for clothes available. Breakfast basic but fine given it is free, good to have a cuppa and some Kaya toast in the morning.

I live and breathe hostels. During this trip to Singapore, I tried 4 different hostels and Beary Best at Chinatown was the beary best. Though, they do not provide breakfast like other hostels, Beary Best makes it up with it's quality, friendliness and overall ambience. They have got you covered, A to Z (minus the breakfast B). Their laundry is not very expensive ($5 for a load to wash and $3 to dry), don't want to use the dry machine, dry it in the sun for free. Other hostels used to charge ~10 to 12 SGD for washing and laundry. They have free coffee, milk and hot water 24/7. Lockers provided by the hostel very spacious and could fit my entire 60L backpack. The bed matresses were of very high quality and so was the pillow and the comforter. I had good sleep on the beds. All lower berth beds had curtains too, good for privacy and protection from the AC wind. The hostel is located in the very accessible part of Chinatown and is at walking distances to Clarke Quay, Singaporean Parliament, Boat Quay, Gardens by the bay and all other party places in Singapore and the touristy spots. The bus stations is 20 metres away and the MRT stations is 50 metres away. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. They know Singapore in and out and will guide you what to do not and not what to do. You can discuss anything with them - Singapore, How much stupid Donald Trump is, politics, economics and policies, food, transportation, anything.

We just loved the boutique and high class feel of the hostel whilst it also maintained that communal feel which we love too. The rooms were really comfortable and the mattresses perfect for us. The pods had great curtains which blocked out light and added privacy whilst staying in a shared room. Also loved the touches like two sets of lights one brighter and one a bit dimmer as well as the plug and slippers too. Location was ideal for exploring the city being a short walk from public transport, varied places to eat, a 7/11 below and not far to walk to the marina too.

The hotel is located in an old house in Chinatown, but the interior decoration is trendy and stylish. Like living in a 5-star hotel, it has all the facilities and there is a communal kitchen for cooking. The toilet is an exempt toilet. The rooms, toilets, bathrooms and public areas are very clean. Di Hotel is across from Chinatown Food Street and there are convenience stores nearby. Walking to the subway station, the cooked food market is about 5 to 10 minutes. The hotel is fully self-service, there are no staff on duty, check in check out all need to go online to handle it, if you do n’t know how to use it, you cannot check in. There is no elevator and it is hard to live on the 4th floor. The shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom are usually used up at night. Overall very good, the best choice to go to Singapore alone.

The room is like this, it is considered cheap in Singapore, mainly because the location is very suitable for our walking family, so here is the capsule, there are small ants, because the capsule can not be cleaned particularly, after all, it is difficult to clean, but later I won't come to live again. People usually sleep a little at night. After all, everyone's time is different. They wake up in the middle of the night to drink water, and they get up a lot in the evening. It's okay to stay for one night at the border crossing. It doesn't matter if you come to play.

Due to travelling restrictions, my husband and I are confined to looking for staycation as our honeymoon after we got married this year. We had a really enjoyable stay in Shangri-la. We requested for earlier check-in at 12PM and was told that it will be subject to availability. When we arrive at the hotel at around 12PM, we were pleasantly surprised to be told that we are given a free upgrade to Valley Wing Deluxe Room and given access to the exclusive lounge with drinks, high tea and canapés available for us. We had our dinner later on at Waterfall Restaurant which was part of the package that we bought on The 3-course meal that we had was really delicious with great atmosphere as we were seated outdoors at the pool side. The service provided to us was impeccable. Perhaps the only small downside is the accessibility of the hotel if you don't drive. We pretty much stayed in the hotel during our entire trip so it wasnt really a big factor. Would love to visit Shangri-la again in future :)

I booked for my fiancé's birthday and in lieu to celebrate New Years. Firstly, early check in was given as to prevent the crowd during the New Years Eve. Very smart move made by the hotel which I am very thankful for! It helps to control the crowd. has emailed me to WhatsApp the hotel as were told by the hotel to request for early check in. Replies by the hotel staffs were fast too! After checking in, I called to reserve the pool but it was sad I could not go as it was raining! The room was rather small but that's fine by me! The shampoo and body wash given smells nice! I usually do not use hotel's shampoo/bodywash but this hotel's toiletries was quite nice! The view from the toiler was not bad too! You need to of course close the blind to have a private shower. Was given free macaroons delivered by the robots to my room as it was my fiancé's birthday! Super kind gesture made by the hotel staffs! We were super touched! The next day, when I went down to pick up my breakfast as I choose to take away(can select to dine in or take away), the staff could not find my breakfast order as my breakfast order was misplaced by one of the staffs (the one I gave my order sheet to) But that's okay because I did not mind waiting for them to pack my food again. I was also granted late check out! Overall, pleasant stay! The team was all very friendly and approachable. Thank you!

Booked 3 rooms for family staycation. I would like to thank Ms Dillah and Mun kind assistance in arranging an earlier check-in for the 2 rooms. Front desk staff are all friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean. Water pressure of the bathroom is good! However, I was kind of disappointed that the club lounge did not open. Nevertheless, they do send food and drinks to our room at 6pm, and will refill our drink every 45mins. The lady that serve the drinks and the guy that serve the food was very nice and friendly. The food (chicken chop with truffle mash potatoe) is DELICIOUS, and the white wine (requested during 2nd serving) they offered is nice!!! But didn't had chance to ask what is the brand, as I left the room after 2nd serving. Not sure how long they serve the drink, I guess till 7:30pm? Great location, so we can easily bring our parents to Haji lane to walk around and feel as though we are on vacation. Ginger Restaurant decoration is lovely!!! But the breakfast serve at Ginger restaurant was pretty average to me... Wouldn't mind having as a package, but wouldn't pay the price for the kind of food serve. Service at the restaurant were much slower too as staff tend to look at the floor instead of the guest. But its CNY so I shall not comment much. But there's one aunty that serve food with big lovely smile. Its a petty that I didn't take note of her name. Overall experience staying in Park Royal Hotel Beach Road is good! Would definitely recommend if you are looking at staycation situated at convenience location filled with hipster cafe and nice restaurant.

Actually requested for highest floor with amazing view but they didn’t fulfil my request. It’s okay, they also mention to make advance booking for swimming pool and so we did, but pool is fully booked, felt so disappointed. During check in we try our luck again for the pool, lucky there is last 3 slot of us. Around 7pm went swimming, but no one was there. (Wonder why they say it’s fully book) 😕 In the afternoon try to make booking for pool again, again they say fully book. We didn’t bother to go down to check. Aside from that, we do appreciate the gifts that comes in the package that include late check out at 6pm, inclusive of breakfast and semi lunch buffet for 2 adults. Room was very spacious and clean. Overall we are happy with our stay there. Definitely we come again.

From booking communication through email, Aisyah was the best. Everything went smooth and all our requests was accommodated. Even the room upgrade. Thank you so much Aisyah! :) Check in was smooth and Vin was really friendly and welcoming. As for the room (1015), it was almost perfect! Room was spacious enough for two and the view was AMAZING!!! Truly a panoramic view. Balcony was great, but it would have been better if there was a brighter light for lounging out during the evening. Only improvement I guess would be some of the staff being more friendly specially by the pool and beach area. In other Shangri-la, guests would go directly to the beds and a staff will bring the towels and some water for refreshments. We did not experience this here in Rasa Sentosa. Not sure if this is because of covid. But it would still be great if the staff would in those areas be more welcoming and friendly. Overall, had a great time and had a great birthday celebration. We would definitely come back for another quick getaway from the city. Thank you so much!

Only 2 bottled water allowed per room. Request for more bottled water was refused. Water kettle was not working well, kept leaking and unsafe for usage. Had to go to plaza singapura to buy 5L of bottled water from cold storage. Upon request for shavers, they could only provide 1 shaver per room even though 2 pax check in. Extremely unhygienic, luckily we brought alcohol wipes. Doors are not soundproof and can hear other neighbor’s doors slamming very loudly in the middle of the night. Request for late checkout also turned down even though hotel not fully booked (upon checking, there were many rooms available for booking on TV keeps disconnecting too At this price point, suggest staying at D’hotel @ tiong bahru instead. Better service and not stingy.
