Erfurt
|1.31km from city centerStaff were very pleasant but there was very little English spoken. As in many hotels we stayed in Germany, there was only one black tea bag in a double room meant for two people! Very strange. One thing to note for all guests is regards to the safe. I could not work out how to key-in my own personal code number to lock/unlock the safe, so I went to reception and they gave me a slip of paper with a four digit code on it. I said that I wanted to enter my own (secret) number and was told that this could not be done! I argued that it should be possible to key in my own code but they said that I could not. I was not happy but had to accept it. Later I remembered a safe in another hotel where you could change the code by pressing a reset button on the inside edge of the door toward the hinge. I tried this and it worked. When I Checked out I left them with a written instruction in German (using an online translator) on how to change the code.

|1.42km from city centerFacilities: The design of the hotel is outstanding and there is no doubt. Modern sense, endless opposite wall glass, bathroom floor heating, and ubiquitous tips labels. The only downside is that there is no minibar.
Hygienic: Very good, the overall feeling is very clean.
Environment: Although next to the train station, there are still fewer choices for dining and shopping. And consumption is expensive. Eating 30 to 40 euros.
Service: It is far from the intentions of the hotel design! The advantages of design give the waiter a superiority and generate a sense of service. For example, when checking in, customers have been in a long queue, two front desks are slowly leisurely, and the other person stops directly, picks up the phone porridge, and lets the customer wait.

|1.59km from city centerIn Erfurt we selected the Opera Hostel as a stop at our bike tour. It is quite central and offers a lot of space in all areas: in the entrance area were parks for bikes and through wide stairs and rides you can reach the reception in the 1st floor. We would be friendly and have our large three-bed room, which was equipped with simple beds and rather hard mattresses, but very spacious and, among other things, very originally decorated with a tuba under the roof. From the front of the building, a little of the noise scene that had been formed due to a meeting of young people passed by the evening, but it was only moderately noisy and also time-limited. The next morning there was a good breakfast in extensive self-service in the similarly sympathetic and generously measured dining room in the top. Overall a completely successful stay, just in terms of the cheap price for the three-bedroom. Clearly a recommendation, not only for budget travelers!

|0.78km from city centerWe stayed in this hotel on two separate nights bookending a trip to Frankfurt. This hotel is not - in our experience - typical of the Mercure brand. Far too often Mercure's are in good locations but somewhat rundown, tired and in need of attention. This is quite the opposite. It appears to have been wholly refurbished in the last five years, it is looked after. The hotel is conveniently situated near to both the old town and the main, new shopping area, both being no more than five minutes walk away. It is a ten to fifteen minute walk from the railway station or (for us) a €10 taxi ride. There is paid for car parking if required. This is a deceptively large hotel, the short frontage belies the fact that it has 141 rooms. The hotel stretches back from its frontage - we felt it was long and not very wide. It is spread over four floors and possibly an attic. We were on the fourth floor for our first visit and on the first floor for the second. Entry into the hotel from the street leads to a small reception area with ottoman seating. Screened from reception is a small bar and another soft seating area. The bar had elusive opening times - but seemed not to operate before 18:00 hours. Service was good. There is a restaurant that is not the breakfast room but that was not open during our stay with no sign of opening on the horizon. All public areas were clean, tidy and well maintained, albeit with a Alpine overtone! Access to the upper floors is via dedicated lifts or stairs depending upon the location of the room, with some rooms there is quite a walk to the lift. There is a small garden and paved area with seating. We saw no specific provision for disabled access but believe that the hotel is easy enough to negotiate. There is a separate breakfast room which works very well albeit it is not large. It is at the furthest end of the hotel from reception and bypasses some of the meeting rooms. Whilst these rooms were used during our stays we experienced no difficulties. We took breakfast early and the restaurant was never full or cramped. Breakfast is generous but prettty standard continental fare. Our first room (413) was a standard room and disappointing although it was clean and well cared for. Our second room however (136) was an upgrade and provided exceptional space and comfort for a reasonable price. Had we been able to satisfactorily understand the room descriptions and attributes on the website a room such as 136 would have been our preference. It had a large and comfortable double bed, a small seating area with table, a separate desk along with the usual accessories of a safe, TV, wifi etc. We didn't try the TV but everything else worked. There is no aircon but there is very effective radiator heating. We can imagine that opening the windows for some rooms would produce a great deal of street noise, but both our rooms were towards the rear of the hotel and quiet. There was no noise from the corridor or between roo

Erfurt
|0.81km from city centerThe stay itself was very nice.
However, the room was quite small, and the parking lot had to be paid separately for 20 euros.
Also, there is no bottle of water in the room, which is expected in such a good hotel.
Otherwise it was very clean and tidy

|5.68km from city centerBecause of the fact that the booking via our company portal has not worked, I have arrived at this hotel via the HRS booking service. I was positively surprised about the equipment of the hotel. I can recommend it. The staff is very friendly and premature. The rooms are clean, but unfortunately in a 1990 stand.

|2.28km from city centerThe hotel was easy to find and park at the hotel was possible even if we had luck, there are many parking places not at the hotel. I think, however, in the nearer surroundings, parking would be possible. We were welcomed friendly in the hotel itself. The lobby seems, I think, quite old, as the whole hotel too. The rooms are small and have come into the years, but our room was clean. Unfortunately, just in front of the hotel, there is a large building site that was very annoying for us as long sleepers; but no problem at the weekend. In addition, the airing in our room was hardly possible because our window was above the outer seat area where smoking was smoked. For us as non-smokers, this was more than unpleasant. The breakfast buffet was small, but for us was perfectly enough. I had the impression that by the small buffet it wasn't thrown away so much because only smaller portions have been made, I think that is good. I assume that there is a shortage of staff at the hotel, which was hardly followed by cleaning the tables and leaving the buffet. Since we didn't come to the hotel to spend a lot of time there, but only to sleep there, it was all right. I would like to highlight the friendliness of the staff once again!

|1.42km from city centerModern design hotel near Erfurt main train station, and a short walk to old city center. Standard double room was simple but comfortable, very clean, with good beds and bathroom. Nice staff, but check-in process seemed a little slow - we had to queue up for some minutes despite there were not so many guests awaiting check-in. Breakfast was good (buffet) but a little crowded .

Erfurt
|0.68km from city centerThey can barely speak English at reception, which is fine unless there is a problem with your room. We booked a non- comfort room with bfast for 126 euro. No refrigerator, no a/c, ok. Got it. A couple of days before our booked night, the upgraded comfort room was advertised for 103 euro. I messaged gore kindly asking them if they would consider an upgrade for us since comfort room was now over 20 euro cheaper. NO REPLY. Ok.. check in and they weren’t going to upgrade us even though hotels was no where near full in this Sunday evening. Fine. No problem. They give us room in old building with a fan. Fine. Problem is that Wi-Fi isn’t working- we complained.. they reset it. Still doesn’t work.. goes on then off.. hard to conduct any business needing Wi-Fi. Eric and female at desk have no sympathy and don’t care. They say we can come to bar and use Wi-Fi there. Well, doesn’t that defeat purpose of saying the hotel has Wi-Fi in room?

Erfurt
|1.27km from city centerGreat location, literally 2 minutes on foot to the Erfurt Cathedral. Great breakfast, good variety, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff.
The room itself is not what one will expect from a 4-stars-hotel. Absolutely uncomfortable, cold, old furniture which doesn't suit to such a hotel. Horribly noisy, basically you can hear your neighbours, awful! Not to mention the old noisy a/c! No coffee maker or at least a kettle in the room! Instead you're kindly asked to go to the reception and buy coffee or any drinks from the vending machine. And please, people, check the tissues package! If there are only several tissues left, then you'd better change the whole package instead of waiting till it's empty...or am I wrong?!
During my next trip to Erfurt I will definitely try another hotel to compare it, this one gets from me the lowest possible mark!

|1.34km from city centerSpent a night in the 40sqm apartment which is perfectly fine for two adults and a child on the huge pull out sofa. Spacious. Nice and modern bathroom. Kitchen equipment was not that great (only one large plate, crumbs in the cutlery drawer, some glasses not clean) and overall cleanliness could be improved. Location is Great, quick Walk or Tram ride to Erfurts impressive old city. Quiet neighbourhood and back yard location. Would use again

Erfurt
|3.87km from city centerWe were at 13.10.23 in the hotel for two nights. We chose the hotel because the experiences in Tuttlingen in the same hotel chain were very positive. Unfortunately, I cannot affirm that from Erfurt. The hotel is conveniently located with tram connection about 4 km outside the centre. The rooms are relatively small and there is no separate bathroom and toilet. For two days the room size is just enough, but there is no barrier. The service is very unmotivated. You can notice this already at check-in. In the restaurant you need to expect very long waiting times and also at the bar it is only very slowly moving forward. We just wanted to drink a beer in the evening and we waited for our drink over 45 minutes. Inadmissible for a four-star hotel. Although the rooms are not cleaned at weekend as we have been told, the sauna is not also available from 10:00 to 15:00 because the staff are needed to clean the room. All in all, the hotel is very expensive with the overnight price, especially since the service is incredibly restricted. We will not decide again for this hotel in Erfurt.

|1.4km from city centerEverything else is fine, but the lights are too dark. In addition, check in is online, the reservation number to be filled in is not easy to find, and Trip.com's order number is not the same thing, it took the boss to get the check-in procedure, the result of the mobile phone can not display the door password, check in for a long time, change the mobile phone to see the password.
