|7.72km from city centerWhen I hear Marriott I instantly think luxury, all though the lobby and entrance present that when you walk in, the room atleast the one I stayed in was definitely dated. The room a standard king was on the small side, but even with the dated older apeal the room was the cleanest one I've stayed at in a while. The windows were drafty and there was even a visible gap letting in open ice cold air which cold thw room down on the one side significantly. Thankfully I dislike sleeping hot and I even ended up running the cooling fans not heat. Those in their self ran pretty loud so any ligjt sleeper would have a bit of trouble sleeping. Bed was soft semi comfortable and ran on the small for being a king, ive slept on queens that have felt bigger. Overall if you can get it on the lower priced side its ok but more of a day or two type not a week stay sort of stay.

The staff very nice but especially I want to give thanks to the maintenance guy for helping me open my room door while my daughters were in the room sleeping with the latch on the door I couldn’t get them to wake up and open the door so ty maintenance for your help on this matter. Love the outdoor pool! Will defenitely be booking here again soon!!

|6.39km from city centerMy arrival and check in was apparently a sign of things to come for my week long stay at this hotel. I arrived at the hotel at 4:15 pm and was told my room wasn’t ready. I asked if there was another king room available and was told no. Since it was a king room I said I would wait, but was then told it’s not available. What do you mean it’s not available? She said it’s”just not”. Ok. then can I get a room away from the interstate and elevator. No problem she said since the hotel doesn’t have an elevator you don’t have to worry about the noise. I get assigned a room on the second floor at the north end of the hotel right next to the interstate- so I turn on the AC to drown out the noise. It’s old, dirty and squeaky. Also with bad knees and luggage. Seriously second floor? No other rooms are available but I can checked back the next day and move rooms. That’s a huge inconvenience. No thank you. This hotel seems like no one’s really cares about it or managing it. The customer service is disappointing, the hallways were never vacuumed during my week long stay, there was no service to the rooms so you have to hunt down a housekeeper for towels and toilet paper or walk down the hallway, flights of steps, down another hallway to the front desk. And good luck trying to find someone there. The front desk staff are seldom attending the front desk, and if a guest needs something they have to yell to the back room to get someone’s attention. The one gal was extremely rude on two different occasions as tho we were a bother to her. I spoke to Sean about this and he said he would add 20,000 points to my Marriott BonVoy account and apologized on her behalf. No points have yet been added. There’s no working elevator, there’s no shuttle or restaurants within walking distance and their bistro has very limited hours so there are no options for meals unless you pay for an Uber or Lyft - which are expensive in the Lakewood area. The hotel is undergoing a renovation, basically they’ve installed new carpet and drapes. I had to switch rooms because of the old, noisy AC unit in my first room, the rooms remain dark with minimal lighting, no upgrade to the bathroom or fixtures except the tile floor. Not the quality or service a guest excepts of a Marriott hotel.

The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to Whole Food and Target, very convenient for a longer stay if you plan to do some cooking. Complimentary breakfast was good and had a variety of decent options.

|1.56km from city centerFirst, the front desk staff at motel 6 Lakewood are extraordinary! I met Amy & Samantha whom went out of their way to be sure everything was satisfactory & i was happy. They were personable, down to earth, honest/sincere, fair, and pleasant. They seemed to enjoy their positions, & the guests coming & going. This is extremely rare these days.!! Further, the room was just fine. Yes, this is a motel 6 and not the “brown palace.” The term “You get what you pay for“ is actually not the case here. In this case, you get more than what you pay for, and more than you get at any of the surrounding comparable accommodations w comparable prices. It’s the best room- to-rate ratio in the area. Ultimately, the front desk staff (Sam & Amy) & the clean, room make the difference. I choose this place over any of the other motels nearby.. Much care J

|6.1km from city centerGood features: (1) Place has a dinosaur motif - lots of bones and artifacts in the lobby and dining area, lots of murals all around stairs and exterior walls, there's a 'dino expert' on duty 7am-10am Fri-Sun in lobby, with lots of toy dinosaurs to do 'show & tell.' (2) Generally quiet area - it's set of the main road by a side street, with plenty of parking. (3) Beds and rooms comfortable. (4) Hot breakfast with variable choices each day - sometimes link sausages, sometimes corned beef hash, etc., although their potatoes were less than MacDonald's quality. Not good features: it's a pet-friendly place, and they do try and locate pets along one or two of their four 'wings.' Except we are not dog owners, and were put into one of the 'dog wings,' unbeknownst to us, for our 5-day stay. Generally not a problem, except next door to us there was a 'yapping' dog over the weekend. Their owners just left the dog alone in their room for hours at a time, and the dog was understandably upset and constantly yapping and whining. We complained to night manager, who simply stated: ”dog owners do this all the time, there's nothing I can do since they're not in their room.” He suggested we take it up with manager in the morning, which we did. She stated that night mgr could have called the dog owners on their cell and told them to come back to room, since hotel has everyone's cell phone numbers. She also said we could have requested a room away from dog wings when we first checked in, but how is one to know to ask for that? We suggested that in the future they have a sign at front desk that states just that - if you don't want to be in the dog wings, ask for a room in the non-dog wings. Manager did give us 10% off our bill for our inconvenience. Note: We don't dislike dogs; we just dislike bad dog owners who leave their pets unattended for hours at a time in a strange room

|6.67km from city centerWe have moved from Colorado, and we had to pick up my husband’s other vehicle. We stayed here for the evening, and it was very comfortable. They let us check in early, as we had driven through the night, the night before. It was nice to be able to relax, get some coffee, and rest. My daughter did enjoy the pool, and the whole hotel was very comfortable. Staff was very kind, our room was super clean, beds comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was suitable. We would definitely stay here again. They also allowed pets, as we were traveling with our dog.

I often don’t sleep well in hotels and I got one of the best nights of sleep I have had all year. I was glad there was lots of coffee at breakfast because we only had one package of regular coffee in our room. Overall it was great, thank you!

This hotel could definitely pay more attention to customer service and serving their customers. After all without us you would not be here. So now let’s get into some of the nitty gritty, upon arriving, as a Diamond Member the app says I get water and a snack, neither were given and the front staff says this hotel does not do this. What… every other hotel I go to does this! But okay thanks. Go to my room and see fingerprints all over the room. Mostly around and on light switches and bathroom counter. I informed the front desk and they just said that all their rooms are cleaned to the Hilton standards. I totally disagree because all I stay in is Hiltons. Then I find out that the pool is being cleaned, I think great at least they are cleaning something but then the front staff tells me it has been closed for cleaning for the last three weeks and has no idea when it will be done. I am from Canada and I do not carry any cash on me, wanted to do laundry and the staff could not charge a $1 to my room so I could do my dirty laundry, so I asked one of my American friends staying at the same hotel if they could lend me $1. I do my laundry and the washer does not drain fully or spin fast enough because the clothes came out soaking wet. I put them into the dryer and as course stall came out dripping. Talked with the front staff and told him. To my surprise all he said was “okay” and walked away. I feel a little compassion or offering me $.50 to put my clothes in the dryer one more time would go a long way. I stayed here for a week and the week before their sister hotel across the lot (owned by the same people) and saw and experienced many moments that made me think to myself “thats not right”. Will definitely give this hotel a lot of social media exposure in a negative way. Will never come back here until I know the whole staff including the man in the back office take some customer service basic training.

|6.54km from city centerUpon check in, walked in and the entry light was flickering and the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke (room was a Non-Smoking Room, first floor) was evident. Returned to the lobby and the gentleman working at the front desk only had some of their Febreze to offer us. We sprayed the room as best we could but the smell langured. It was everywhere (curtains, bedding, room air). We left for dinner and returned after picking up some Lysol and a candle to burn to help with the smell. This helped a bit more but it was still like sleeping next to an ash tray. Gross! It was clear to us that those who clean the room either were doing so smoking, or the previous guests had been smoking IN the room, continually. It smelled like a bar from the 70s. We asked to be moved to another room but there were no more available rooms with two beds (so he said, I'm not sure I believe him though). The only 'good' part of the room was that there was no carpet, just hardwood floors (fake, it's not fancy), so the smell by the 3rd night was passable with us also purchasing some Febreze of our own. By the time we checked out, 3/4s of the Lysol and Febreze were gone but we could easily breathe in the room again. I'm sure the smoke smell was in the A/C filters that have likely never been changed/cleaned. We've stayed in other Extended Stay locations and none were as bad as this location. The room was small compared to others. The room was well outdated, looked like it hadn't been upgraded since the 80s. This was a two bed room and there was little room to move around, certainly no more than any 'budget motel' but for the price, we expected more. Upon checking in (8pm), we were charged a 'late check in fee'. When we made the reservation we made sure they knew we'd be late (after 5pm) and NO mention of a late check in fee. Having stayed in many other hotels, in the Denver area as well as other cities, we've NEVER been charged a late check in fee. We suspect the front desk gentleman was scamming us. TV remote didn't work. Family also staying at this hotel had other issues with their room as well. One so bad that they checked out the next morning (had arrived very late, though they weren't charged a 'late check in fee' the night they checked in) and were refunded for their nights stay. They found mold in the freezer in their room and the bathroom floor upon check in was wet. When they used the bath mat to clean it up, the mat was nearly black (floor not cleaned recently). Same room, when walking the floor in white socks, they weren't white when taking them off. Gross! Third & fourth room guests had no issues with their rooms, thankfully. Hotel is in a decent location, so we thought. There is a Denny's across the street as well as Old Chicago (restaurant/bar) with good food. Though, our last night (early morning) of our stay, there was someone outside screaming and shouting for more than half an hour at 2:30 am, a loud car horn going

|4.48km from city centerThis hotel has explicitly discriminatory, transphobic policies around bathrooms. I stayed at here during a work trip where I was assisting operations for a conference. Our group had several gender non-conforming participants, myself included, some of whom do not feel comfortable using the men's/women's rooms and would prefer access to an all gender bathroom. I tried to seek out this accommodation for myself and our conference participants during my stay here. During this process, I was notified by a hotel associate the hotel does not provide access to all gender bathrooms and can only have public restrooms that accommodate men and women. She went on to indicate, ”guests who do not wish to use either restroom may use the restrooms in their rooms.” She cited hotel policy as the reason for this lack of accommodation. I am not a Colorado resident but I do know that Colorado's anti-discrimination laws guarantee equal access to public accommodations regardless of disability, race, sex, sexual orientation, gender (including transgender status), etc. In Colorado, it is unlawful for a place of public accommodation to refuse, withhold from, or deny individuals in any of the above listed classifications the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, etc. offered by the place of public accommodation. Asking gender nonconforming people to use the single stall restrooms or restrooms in their rooms is not an equal accommodation and is in fact discriminatory under Colorado state law. This hotel has explicitly discriminatory, transphobic policies. Do not stay here.

|3.23km from city centerUpon arrival there was a notice of a cancelled show cause hearing from the local government hung on the door to the front office. The section of the municiple code that was quoted was 5.56.080(A)(3) which allows Lakewood to suspend the license of any lodging facility that had more calls for service than 1.89 x the number of rooms in the hotel over the previous 12 months. I booked through hotels.com which reports there are 147 rooms, so that implies at lease 288 calls for service last year. Though the hearing was cancelled if you stay here the police will probably show up during your stay. I asked the clerk about the sign and he said he didn't know any thing about it. He gave me a room. I went to it and the TV and lights were on. The card worked but I thought he gave me the wrong room. It didn't appear as though it had been cleaned and there was another set of key cards on the nightstand. I took a step in and then backed out and went back to the front desk thinking I had been given the wrong room. He said the person should have moved out of there and gave me a different room. On the way to this room I notice the room down the hall had it was easy to see into it. It looked like a longterm resident who was a horder lived in it. The resident had a bunch of junk piled on the bed including what looked like a wooden pallet. When I got to the room the door, which opens to the outside, was wide open. The light switch didn't work. No one was in there but there were poorly patched holes in the wall, it looked dirty, and the handle to the refridgerator was broken. I went back to the front desk to ask what was up with the door being open? The guy gave me a 3rd room. This one did not appear to have been given to a guest moments before me like the first one, but it still did not seem like it had been cleaned. It smelled of smoke, there was a vape pen, and **** left from the last guest. Something had been spilled on the nightstand and surrounding floor which had not been cleaned up. The thermostat was broken. It appeared to do something, but the cover was broken off so you couldn't see the temperature or settings. There was a leak in the ceiling and water was pooling on the table. The fridge was not clean. The sheets had stains on them. There were small red spots which I thought may have been blood. I went back to the front desk. The clerk went to give me a 4th room and I asked for my money to be refunded instead. The clerk said I would have to go through hotels.com. I left and called hotels.com The clerk that day and the manager the next day both refused hotels.com requst to refund all the money I had paid. They kept 1 night because that is their policy for changes to a reservation. This is nonesense. I am not going to go through all 147 rooms in the hotel to try and find a vacant one that has been cleaned. I did not stay a single nigth and should have been refunded in full.

|6.51km from city centerThe check in went well! But didn’t know how noisy this hotel was until it was time to settle in and sleep. The fan in bathroom was so loud it was terrible same switches used the light yup so you know! Then the fridge started making a loud noise. Also you could hear traffic in room. Wish we would have checked out same day. Stayed long thanksgiving weekend. And had to finally try to get housekeeping to come in. On the third day when I called to get housekeeping they said they would have to see if they had time!! Oh you don’t even know. This last part topped off our whole stay! So they have a coat closet and my husband put his shirt and my North-face ski jacket in the closet and we left and forgot them. When we remembered I called right away and some how with both of them in the same place they told me they found the shirt but not the Jacket. Some how I knew they were going to say that!! Very upsetting over all stay! So heads up double think of your stay here!!!
