|0.29km from city centerVery much enjoyed my (one night) stay in Hotel Centar. Everything about it was good. I arrived by bus to Skopje bus station and had a 10 minute walk to the hotel (slightly tricky, I may add, as the hotel is slightly off-centre and not terribly well signposted - but Google Maps to the rescue!) The hotel was very pleasant, staff extremely pleasant and helpful and the room quality was very good. Breakfast was included in the price and had lots of stuff on offer (have to confess I am not a breakfast person). There appears to be a swimming pool in the small complex where the hotel is located, and this is free to guests. Can't confirm as I didn't take advantage of thus. My memories of this hotel are good

|0.17km from city centerThis hotel was priced higher that some others nearby. I chose this hotel because it was closest to the bus station yet Central. The reviews were not promising describing it as pretty old. I'd agree about the outside of the building but the inside felt fairly new. I'm a platinum member and this was well recognized. They gave me a room upgrade to their senior suite and also free breakfast which normally isn't provided to platinum members. The suite was very nice. A large living room plus separate bedroom and bathroom. For some reason the bathroom had two showers, a stall version and a bathtub version. Water pressure was good. They also provided me a plate with some smart desserts. I had a small view of the river area. The room was comfortable with a couch and table plus a desk. TV has smart features. Internet was fast. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of options. Unfortunately my first night had very low occupancy in the hotel so breakfast was by order only. This made it a little confusing since there was no list of all the items to choose from. Although I still got plenty to eat I thought that a lot of food was wasted since the portion sizes that I got were quite large and I also got a few extra items I didn't mean to order. The next day had a normal buffet setup. I don't know what the normal rooms are like but I'd 100% come back if I get upgraded to a suite again. With the upgrade, it's probably one of the top HI stays I've ever had.

|0.68km from city centerThe hotel calls this an apartment which is a very generous description — it was more of a hotel room with a kitchenette in it. The air conditioner worked fine, and the fridge was nice to have. Or major issue was that the room stank of smoke, despite there being a no smoking sign. The sheets were not very comfortable, either. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however.

|4.91km from city centerWe had a great stay at Aloha Apartments in late February going into March. We had a choice of rooms when we got there, so chose a bigger one on the ground floor by the pool, which was bright, and a nice view. Obviously as it was the end of winter we didn't use the pool or sit in the garden, but for sure in better weather it must be a pleasant place to relax in. The room was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of room. The shower room was great, and there was always hot water, and clean towels whenever we needed from the hallway area. There is the entrance to a well in the room, working, I assume. The top part of it has been made into a coffee table. It's probably the most unusual feature of any apartment we've ever stayed in. Elora and George, who run the apartments, were always very welcoming and helpful with organising very good excursions and supplying a decent local taxi service. The apartments are maybe a mile or so from the city centre along the Vardar river, in an old part of the city. It's easy in the Balkans to mistake old or traditional areas as run down, but it's not, and consequently you have to see past the immediate view to its unspectacular charm: you are staying in a historic area which is more authentically Skopje than the city centre, with all its statues and grand buildings. The apartments are well situated to walk into town, though we usually got a taxi back, a ten-minute trip which costs 100-200 denar - very cheap. I liked the local dogs in the neighbourhood, who came to investigate us each time we came out of the gate, keeping a friendly distance and always strangely quiet. We really enjoyed our stay at Aloha, and highly recommend it, winter or summer.

Centar
|3.03km from city center3+ star. Room for improvement. I was going to do 3 but felt it harsh. Let me explain. As per other reviews the hotel is often unmanned. Just as well there was WiFi as we were able to correct 2 issues by phone.(check in and power cut) We had booked a twin and got given a double. Given the lack of staff it seemed not worthwhile trying to sort this as well, but this may have made others uncomfortable. We were given no instructions for breakfast, luckily the lady in the morning was able to help and give breakfast coupons (lady was the cleaner?) So all of the above issues could have been solved by reception staff present or better communication. It's saved by being in an amazing location! Very central. And the breakfast (served at a store across the road) was good. (Although not well explained, you choose items from a menu in a healthy food cafe. Omelette or smoothie) We met Goran at the end. Seemed a really nice friendly guy. I think we would have had better experience had he been present. So rated generous 4/5 . But better communication could make it more positive. (I would stay again, as still provided good value)

Old Bazaar
Skopje
|0.83km from city centerTruly dreadful. I never complain about hotels but this place is a real piece of work. We paid for a superior room with Jacuzzi spa and when we checked in the bathroom floor was flooded. We told the staff who arranged for someone to come and clean up and all was well. Until we came back from a days exploring and tried to use the jacuzzi. Sewage water came up through the floor drains and flooded the bathroom. I told the lady at the front desk who was very nice and sent the manager up to our room to investigate. When Macedonian Basil Fawlty arrived, he proceeded to tell me that this is normal and that its not an issue. When I advised him that I didn't think wading through inches of sewage to use the loo was normal he accused us of causing the flooding ourselves and became rude to the point that I had to ask him to leave the room. I felt sorry for the poor girl on the front desk who clearly has to deal with the mans rudeness to guests on a regular basis. In addition the rooms are tired and in desperate need of some tlc. There was hole in our bed, led lighting peeling away from the wall (all of which I would probably have overlooked tbh)

|0.86km from city centerBeautiful venue in an amazing location on the doorstep of the old Bazaar and a 5-minute walk from the main town. The hotel was clean, with friendly staff and the rooms are amazing value for money. To add one of the most comfortable beds I have stayed in We had a breakfast and a dinner both highlight rated but did not have any time to make use of the hotel spa. Would defiantly recommend if you are visiting Skopje to stay at this location

|1.28km from city centerThe hotel is in a central location, the staff is very friendly and helpful; we especially want to mention Mohamed at the reception who helped us rebook the room. Breakfast offers a lot of variety and is lovingly prepared. The mattresses are very comfortable and the bathroom had a wonderful rain showerhead. Tea and coffee makers are in the room. My one disappointment was that the website shows a sofa in a standard bouquet classic room which was not the case. We needed to upgrade to a junior suite but received a discount on the new room. The suite was very large and just like in the picture. They even provided a dog bed and 2 bowls. Everything was wonderful and we would stay at Leonardo again.

|1.51km from city centerWe had a fantastic stay at the Panoramika Design and Spa Hotel. The staff at the reception could not have been nicer or more helpful. Whatever we needed (a taxi, directions, questions answered, etc. ) they were there to help. When we checked in, we were upgraded to a suite which was among the best hotel rooms we have ever stayed in anywhere. It was spacious, beautiful, and clean, with a gorgeous bathroom to match. We had one day of rain and it was a delight to hang out in that room! The view of the city from our room was also spectacular. Furthermore, we really enjoyed the Sky Bar for both drinks and meals. The views were gorgeous and the food was very good. If I had to be critical, I would say that I wish the breakfast had a little more to offer, particularly fresh fruit. The only fruit I saw were oranges, apples, and bananas, but something like strawberries would have been great in cereal. I do understand, though, that breakfast for the Macedonians is usually just burek, so maybe that was why they had what they did. In any event, we would highly recommend this awesome hotel!

|3.6km from city centerI stayed on business for several days and can only say positive things. As a Hilton member I was allowed an early check-in, I was upgraded to a nicer room and breakfast was included complimentary. The hotel looks a little dated from the outside, but inside it is excellent: modern, clean and very well kept. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast does not offer a huge variety, but it is more than adequate and everything is fresh and well presented. The restaurant also offers a lunch and dinner service with rather extensive menus. The gym is average size but all the equipment one might need is there and it is very well kept. There is also a fairly large pool that stays open until 10pm - a great feature. The hotel is located a 10-15 minute ride away from the center of town but there isn’t much of anything in the immediate vicinity. On the other hand it is quiet and relaxing, there isn’t any noise, so you can rest any time of day.

|0.44km from city centerBeen here a few times now, and have always been satisfied. During a year since my last stay things have changed. And not for the better . The good stuff: Location right on the walking street, easy walk to everything. Due to my status I was upgraded to a bigger room and received water and fruit, which I appreciate. I was also invited to free breakfast so will not comment on that. What I will say is that the breakfastroom is way to small when the hotel is fully booked and all groups descide to have breakfast at the same time. My room at the 4th floor, has a small balcony, there I found old cups with rotten fruits in it. Wifi was very bad in this room which made it difficult to do my work. Coffee/tea was non existing (apart from the kettle). No tissues and the soapcontainers are so old that they dont work properly. Cleaners had a bad attitude, they did not remove old towels from the floor and toiletpapaper was not restocked. I had one linnen change which had stains . Corridor smelled like sewage. Service has gone down, I think only the young man working in the cafe knows what he is doing, at least he is attentive to his customers. When he was not working, I was just ignored or staff was simply not present. Had two meals which was of bad quality. To sum it up, Best Western Turist will not be my first choice on my next visit to Skopje. I would rate the hotel as beeing 3star.

|3.82km from city centerI have been at hotel Russia three times. This is a good hotel. Service is good. But last time I've been there, I tried to call reception from room phone about almost thirty times, and it did not work. So I went to reception to talk to receptionist for what I nedeed, and at the end when I told about the room phone, he did not care at all, but he was trying to find a non sense reason. So I recommand to the hotel staff to be more responsible with clients.

|0.99km from city centerMy stay in this Hotel was awesome! It definitely make a difference on my experience in Skopje overall. The view from their rooftop is definitely the best one in Skopje. Other than that staff was very friendly and professional. They were always available and willing to help. Their rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. The bed is comfortable and made me feel at home. If you want to have an amazing experience during your time in Skopje then Hotel Arka is the place to stay.

|0.56km from city centerLoved our stay at Senigallia. All staff were amazing: super friendly and responsive. Room A2 was magical: very spacious and clean. Room was cool and one could hear the water of the river, so sleep was great. Breakfast was delicious: buffet and also made to order omelette and pancakes. Also had dinner in the restaurant which was also of great quality. Would highly recommend 👌

|0.65km from city centerAbsolutely lovely hotel especially the bathroom . Staff very pleasant and the food is pretty good . The A/C is a bit of a drawback , unless you turn it off it is set at 25 degrees . The hotel is quite enclosed so you cannot get a breeze into the room by opening the windows . The hotel itself is literally 3 mins walk to the main square which is very impressive .

|0.6km from city centerThe room given to us was on third floor overlooking street Room 308 Full of natural light Not a big room though spacious enough It was very clean and bed very comfortable Two different types of pillows TV had many channels and quite a few in English and 3 in Italian WiFi was excellent I loved the breakfast offered on day two as we went down at 07:30 First day we were late 08:30 and there was less of a choice I must point out that the ladies who run the breakfast room are very kind I asked for a scrambled egg as I don't particularly.like omelette or fried eggs That was no problem at all The room doesn't have any windows though I didn't find it to be claustrophobic I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone except those with walking difficulties as one has to climb 4 stairs from reception area to reach the lift There is no handrail either I asked the receptionist to inform the Manager as it's needed for people who find it difficult to climb stairs All in all we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel.Thank you to all the staff who made it possible

|0.25km from city centerDominating the Macedonia Square, this hotel is the best in Skopje. Stunning exterior, extremely elengant interior with Minotti furniture and Flos lighting items. I stayed there for 3 nights and everything went well: 1- The location is perfect! Right in the heart of Skopje. From there, you can walk to the Stone bridge, Mother Theresa house. Most of the museums are located within walking distance from the Marriott. 2- My room was amazing. Spacious and very clean. I think I booked the Deluxe room, but was upgraded to the Junior Suite or sthg. So in addition to the big bed, there was a seating area, and a balcony with a small dining table for coffee. Toilet was also spacious and water was perfect. 3- Spa: I only used the indoor pool, but I saw ppl waiting for their massages, and the place looked fancy. 4- Staff: literally everyone was amazing! Every single one of them, especially Sanja. She was very helpful, polite and friendly. 5- Prices were very fine, given that this is a 5-star hotel. You pay this amount for a 3 or 4 star-hotel in other European cities. I highly recommend this hotel for those wishing to visit Skopje.

|1.49km from city centerI would definitely recommend this apartment as it has the best location. 5 minutes away from the bus terminal and walking distance to all the tourist attractions in the city. No amenities but we don’t need any need for it. It will be good if the bathrooms are kept a little cleaner especially in the shower .. the tiles needs a little hard cleaning .. and they do not provide drinking water unless upon request.
