(Normally I don’t really write reviews but wow this was one of the worst experiences ever) As soon as we walked through the door we felt that something was off. We saw a kid running around and screaming and there was a guy with a large knife and a big sausage for his dog in the hallway, not the first thing you want to see when you check in and are exhausted. As soon as we checked in which was a huge mistake we were led to our room which was a very cold and not very nice room with uncomfortable beds. We had just done an exhausting roadtrip so we really wanted to chill. As soon as the guy closed the door behind us we were like, we are not gonna stay here. The room was way to cold and smelled strange and we just didnt feel comfortable because it felt like a homeless shelter. We went back to the reception and it took a while for someone to help us but we said that we were not staying and we wanted our money back. He wrote down our card details and said he would take care of it. For more than a month now I have been calling them and asking for my money back. Everytime they said they would take care of it, my friend has gotten her money back but I still havent got mine. And everytime I call they have a different excuse. I am a poor backpacker that can use all the money that I have a right too, especially in these Covid times and because I never stayed here. Please don’t stay here its the worst!

We can not say anything about the service as we have never met this. When we arrived, our name with room number was on a blackboard, the key was in the door. Since we left the room until noon, the room was not made. Room facilities, location, parking, etc. are good, the window for daylight could be larger.

It is an old-fashioned Ying's hotel. It is very small in the lobby. The room is not small. The elevators and the floors are also carrying the upper and lower floors of the luggage. This is the most inconvenient. Besides everything else, the location and service are very good. it is good. It is very close to the octagonal square and several famous attractions. It is also easy to find food. The corner is the famous beer factory. The price is also very good, I will stay here again next time in Dunedin. Although there is no free parking, the lobby attendant is very eager to tell us about the free parking street nearby, and it is very close to the stop. The bed was very comfortable and it was the most comfortable two days I had spent playing in New Zealand for so long. Downstairs cafe breakfast buffet 17 New Zealand dollars, afternoon tea 6 yuan a cup of coffee a muffin, very cheap, but most tourists like to go to the octagonal square. I really like this hotel.

The facilities are relatively new, relatively standard hotels, if you park, give the keys to the staff, they will help you to park, 16 knives a night. The location is also ok, just a short walk from the business district. It is quite satisfactory. However, there is a uniform feature of New Zealand hotels - wood is air-conditioned, there is only one fan in the room.

Reservations during the Spring Festival, the price is too expensive, it is the most expensive of the few hotels in New Zealand to live in, the price is average, the rooms are relatively small, the bathroom has a washing machine and a dryer, very convenient. However, the kitchen facilities only have refrigerators and microwave ovens and cannot cook. When I checked in, I saw the crew of Singapore Airlines staying in this hotel. It should be Dunedin. The hotel is in a good location, within walking distance from the church and the train station, and close to a street with a Chinese supermarket. The hotel parking lot is opposite, $ 20 a night. If you leave before 9am, you can park by the roadside for free

We stayed in Room 5. The location is excellent and although parking wasn't included, we did not have any difficulties finding a place to park around the corner. This repurposed church offers a unique place to stay when in Dunedin. The bedrooms are a decent size. However, there were issues with the two bathrooms, specifically the showers. One shower was a full-body shower which would have been excellent if the shower pressure had been sufficient to make it work. It wasn't clear how to even turn the shower on and I needed to ask a member of staff to show me. To be fair, she was exceptionally friendly and helpful and I certainly cannot find fault with customer service! The bedrooms (and bathrooms) are downstairs. Upstairs is the lounge and the kitchen/dining area. Both are spacious and are decorated well. However, the design of the kitchen leaves something to be desired. The microwave is above the fridge and is far too high for anyone under 6 feet tall to use effectively. Similarly, the washer and dryer need to be updated. The washer is squeaky and very noisy. The dryer sits above the washer and, like the microwave, is far too high to be used effectively. This ridiculous height must have been noticed when the kitchen/utility area was being fitted because the dryer is upside down in order for the dial to be even remotely reachable. The dryer didn't work. Considering these issues, I do think this accommodation is a bit overpriced. Overall, I *would* recommend staying here because it is quite unique but the functionality of the kitchen is something to consider, particularly if you are under 6 feet tall. I don't know if the other apartments are similar but I would imagine they are.

Because of the small number of guests, our breakfast hotel was packed in the room. The hotel is very quiet in the residential area on the hillside but needs a car. It is too tired to walk. Our room is two 1.5-meter beds. 3 people live in ample room and the parking lot is very convenient downstairs.

Motel is very close to Otago University. It’s okay to go to a new university in New Zealand. The historic clock tower is pretty and majestic. Turn right at the hotel crossroads and eat at the restaurant. Walk to Dunedin Railway Station. 20 minutes. The interior of the Motel is the normal level in New Zealand. The boss is very enthusiastic. The ice cream is given in the room. The room size is not large with a microwave oven. The parking door is a one-way street and can only turn left.

It’s hard to get a Shanghai fellow in a small city in New Zealand. The hotel is an old house and looks very old from the outside. It is a 5-minute walk from the Botanical Garden and NewWorld Supermarket, and the University of Otago, the Otago Museum, the famous Railway Station and the Immigration Museum are all within walking distance. The hotel is just over 2 km from the downtown Octagon (octagonal square).. The hotel is located in North Dunedin, with convenient transportation on the main road but not noisy... 16 km to Lanark Castle and 33 km from the Royal Albatross Centre. .. This is an unexpected surprise for our trip to New Zealand's South Island. The hotel owner and the proprietress are very hospitable, the room is super clean and the area is very large, the parking lot is free, and we delay the check-out and the boss confiscated us any fees... we arrived The hotel stayed at 12 o'clock in the evening, the boss has been waiting for us, and the room heater and electric blanket were opened early... The proprietress actually gave us a tea egg... a great stay experience .

My son lives 50m down the road and this is perfect when visiting him while he’s in Dunedin studying at Otago University. I stayed here with my 10month old son, we were here for about 2-weeks and we loved it! Everything you need is in the room; a little kitchen (with microwave, stovetop, small fridge, sink, cutlery, plates, bowls, toaster, cooking pots, coffee, tea and hand-towels), a comfortable sofa, a TV, a table and chairs, and good WiFi. The bathroom is super clean with an awesome hot and powerful shower, the floor and beds are also super clean, I was able to borrow a high-chair for my son too! There is also a laundry where you can wash and dry your clothes. It is walking distance to town, very very close indeed. Very convenient. There are also little shops nearby where you can buy necessities such as milk, cereal, nappies etc. The place is comfortable and the owners are very helpful, friendly and kind. Our pre-booked accommodation with an AirBnB at Irvine Road, Cove was cancelled with short notice due to the owners concerns about Covid-19 leaving us with little opportunity to get an alternative place to stay. Fortunately after some quick research we discovered this motel (and were provided with a refund promptly by AirBnB). We had stayed previously at Bluestone on George so were familiar with the area which is near the University of Otago. It’s over 20 minutes on foot to the Octagon area however there are plenty of fast food places nearby, we found the superb Bracken Restaurant within 15 minutes walking distance and there are easy links by car to get to Baldwin Street, the Railway Station and the Peninsula which were all on our “To Do List“. There is free parking onsite and although it may be a little tricky to manoeuvre if the place is at full capacity we were lucky and it wasn’t. On arrival we followed instructions to cut through next door to 858 George Street Motel where our host Michael was manning the desk (he and fellow host Sally operate both places). Michael took us back across to Beechwood, organised check-in and gave us tips for getting to the Peninsula which we planned to do after dropping our bags. The one-bedroom apartment was at ground level and was set-up for accessibility. It had clearly been renovated in recent times and was modern and spotlessly clean. We paid $257 per night for a 2 night stay. There was a large lounge area with a well equipped kitchenette, a separate bedroom and an ensuite with a walk-in shower. The lounge had a comfortable settee and chair, satellite television and a small table and chairs which was ideal for having breakfast. The kitchenette had a hob & oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and was fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses, etc. Although it would have been possible to self cater we dined out during our visit. The bedroom had a comfortable king sized bed, and some wardrobe space and we found we slept well in what turned out to be a quiet location. The ensuite was spacious with a large walk-in shower with good water pressure. An added feature here was the underfloor heating, ideal for avoiding cold feet. The decoration and furnishings all had a contemporary look and were of a good quality. Overall whilst we’d been looking forward to a staying in a stylish looking house on the road to the Peninsula, we ended up staying in stylish accommodation here instead. Covid-19 concerns prior to lockdown may have changed our plans but it turned out fine. Both Michael & Sally were pleasant, informative and welcoming hosts. It is easy to recommend a stay.
