3.73km from Kaithakkal Junction Bus StopWe travelled shortly after the floods in Kerala and our hosts were extremely helpful organising accommodation at relatively short notice, directing us away from the flooded areas, arranging airport transfers, and a brilliant itinerary to explore the local area. Nitish and Prema were perfect hosts who welcomed us to our home away from home. Our driver Rafeek was always punctual and patient, allowing us time to explore waterfalls, wildlife sanctuaries (elephants, bison, buffalo, deer, monkeys), Jain temples and ruins at our own leisure. One of the best days we spent in India was with a local tour guide Bibin (again all arranged through our hosts) - a must do for anyone visiting Enteveedu! Bibin was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic and took us on a personalised tour of Wayanad's best. We visited coffee and tea plantations, local villages where we met the indigenous people and witnessed betel nut harvesting, logging and pottery making. We visited Uravu Indigenous Science and Technology Study Centre and he introduced us to NV Krishnan a wildlife photographer who welcomed us into his home. Bibin even took us to a toddy shop to try the local tipple! Wayanad is a must for anyone visiting Kerala, what better way to do it than with Nitish and Prema as your hosts! Look forward to visiting again.
