We stayed 4 nights in a suite in July 2019. We liked the spacious room with separate toilet & bathroom. The king bed was excellent. Our suite had a good bed sofa, so 4 person's family stayed here comfortably. Somehow the room felt a bit under furnished: there was no dining table or fridge/bar, that would be good additions to this size of a room. The hotel's breakfast was sufficient in varieties. Also gluten free bread was available by request. There were also things to criticize, mainly on service side. Our room's big windows could not be closed properly for 2 first nights and the blackout curtains did not reach the end of the windows. Both issues were told to the reception after first night. Due to communication problems within personnel these were not fixed and we were not contacted in any way. Only after raising the issue again after 2 poorly slept nights we got the maintenance to fix windows. The cleaning also forgot to deliver bath towels, bathrobes& slippers and there were no bathroom amenities. There are also things that could be better in the property: at any level of a hotel room I would expect these things in a toilet: a mirror, a rubbish bin, a hook for a hand towel. Furthermore: when a laundry room and an echoing stairway are situated right next to a bedroom, you are guaranteed to get comments from clients of poor sleep quality. Noise from the laundry began before 8 am and continued well through late hours in the evening. I travel a lot and appreciate a genuine service attitude. At this, Plaza Hotel Mannheim still has some work to be done. It is not uncommon that there are service errors. In these situations a well functioning team communicates clearly (with each other and to the client) and tries their best to make a guests stay at a hotel as pleasant as possible. It is always a good idea to think: "how would the customer feel?" and then decide how to solve the problem. Anyhow, I respect, that the hotel reacted to my feedback and got their act together for the 2 last nights of our stay. With a little more experience and hopefully also some service coaching, this hotel's staff are able to win customers' appreciation and even better scores in the future.

Staff was frendly, that was not the point. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was oke. No Airco so the room was hot, keeping the window open was not a option, to much street noise. No option for diner was a big downside as wel.( I did not book the hotel myself) Side walks were small and filled with people in groups. The kind of groups that show a lot of attitude. The long dresses and the beards the men were wearing did not help either, nor did the fact that the did not speak German or English. I'm not a small boy, 1.85 and 95 kg but it did not feel safe to walk around at night. The redlight district was busy as wel. I did see a lot of cops. Parking was a gamble and not fot big cars. Wenn i tolled the several employees of company that i went to were i stayed they reacted with wonder and suprise: thats a real bad part of town. Next time go there and there.

We stayed at Hotel Mack travelling through to Italy. We felt like we’d fallen lucky on arrival as it was one of the nicest looking hotels and was on the outskirts of the centre, however close enough to walk to restaurants and shops. The room was superb, a family suite with loads of room and really clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a luxury and again, tons of room with a great shower, good lighting and very clean. Breakfast was simple and brilliant quality, they are fantastic with eggs!!! The stand out highlight was the service, from the welcome from the owner to the team in the dining room, such warm and welcoming hosts, incredibly friendly, courteous but with professionalism, you are welcomed to take refreshments from the minibar and leave a note to let them know what you owe, this restores such faith in mankind and it was lovely to experience people have such a level of trust and mutual respect. All naturally Covid secure and it felt safe. We would recommend this and we will certainly be returning here to explore the area. It’s made our long journey a pleasurable part of our holiday.

Breakfast was very good with very friendly helpful service too. Overall would definitely recommend and would use again if I'm in the area.

I have stayed at the Boardinghouse Mannheim on two previous occasions and liked the hotel very much. This last time in September was terrible, akin to staying in the sewers of Mannheim. The sewer smell came when you started using the shower and became strong to the point of nausea after two uses of the shower. We asked the maid and she said that all the rooms smelled (poor gir, probably fired by now). It was the weekend so good luck getting anyone for service - no one at the counter. We called the number listed on the phone and got a guy in Heidelberg. Very nice. Wanted to help us find another hotel and refund the night we stayed. UNTIL - the manager in Mannheim showed up. No refund. No help. Very sour and rude. We ended up leaving paying for the one night, vowing never to return. The source of the sewer smell comes from the outdated sewer system in Mannheim. Most other hotels have managed to address it. Not so here. No investment. No service.

This was a short business trip to Mannheim and John Deere. JD is off in the Lindenhof section of town, so it made sense to stay close to the plant rather than in downtown and I'm please to say it was a good choice. The hotel is an easy walk from the train station and about 1/4 mile from John Deere and is easy to find and access. While I wasn't driving, they are unique in that they offer off-street parking and it is free!. Check in was easy and the rooms are very nice-- spotlessly clean and quiet. The bed was wonderful and firm, and set up with nice duvets. The only downside was that with the warm weather the staff would leave the windows open and with no screens, the first night I found a few mosquito visitors pestering me in the middle of the night. Also, like many properties in Europe, you activate the lights by putting your room card in a receiver by the door, so be careful not to charge out and leave the card behind. Wifi was included and worked okay, but signal was not strong. I ate breakfast a few mornings in the restaurant and it was good -- reasonable selection of euro breakfast classics, and some hot items, but coffee was outstanding!

My 1st impression was that it was too small a room. 15 days in Germany means big suitcases and lots of souvenirs. However, my 1st impression was wrong. The bed was large and comfortable, there were night stands on each end. There was a desk and tv on the wall, as well as a wardrobe and another small stand. The suitcases fit well on top of the wardrobe, keeping them out of the way. The a/c working exceptionally well. It was pretty hot in Mannheim. My only issue was the shower. It had a big showerhead and a hand sprayer, but no door. Had to use all the hand towels on the floor. Wifi worked great, except on weekends it was a little slower, but not enough to be a bother. Breakfast was good, and not too pricey. They have a tap if you want a beer at the end of the day. There are a few parking spots in front of the hotel. Train station is a couple minutes one way, watertower a couple minutes the other way. Tram line and grocery store (Lidl) right behind the hotel. Windows open in the room. The elevator is very small if you have large luggage. Everyone was friendly & polite. Most speak English well. Good hotel!

I spent last weekend in a single room at Central Hotel and was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was friendly and you can see that the building is quite aged but it looks like it's been recently renovated (I liked the carpeting on the elevator walls, quirky but amusing). My room was small with a single bed but was super clean and the free internet was fast, so I was happy. The main train station is less than 5 minutes walk away. Great quality and good value for Mannheim. Recommend.

Very modern and smart hotel with excellent bed, bathroom and shower, and all very clean. This was also the hotel that appeared to take Covid19 safety the most serious in terms of directions and hand gel out of the 4 we stayed in on our German theme park holiday, this hotel being used to visit Holiday Park 30 minutes drive away. Having said that it was the one which was least well planned for breakfast with guests walking through the crowded buffet area in order to get to the tables. However, the breakfast was very good with a wide choice, just surprised it was all crammed together in a corner of the breakfast room given the number of guests there. The thing for us that resulted in 4 rather than 5 marks was its location, in a not so nice part of town, but i suppose it was fairly convenient for getting in and out of town, or would have been if one of the major road in town hadn't been removed. Parking was quite expensive, compared to the cost of the room.

The location is close to Mannheim Shopping Main Street and the iconic water tower. The location advantage is obvious. This hotel was built in the late 1980s. The overall management is relatively backward and not very open. The attitude towards the Chinese is very general. The breakfast service staff is less. There is almost no politeness for Chinese dining, not to mention the service word. Room service is almost equal to zero. It is hard to imagine that if the old Chinese people who do not speak English come to the store, they are basically eating dumb. General knowledge of German, room service is also daily in the education hotel staff.

This was a stop over on our journey from Italy to The Netherlands. 10-11/8. A lovely warm welcome from Kathrine at check-in which was quick and easy. A quiet room request honored. Thank you. The room it’s self with a sofa bed for a 3rd person was fantastic. A large modern room with a great shower. We had dinner at the hotel since we were tired and had a very pleasant dining experience in the outdoor courtyard. A little expensive, a salad €13 but it is the Hilton. Breakfast was a pre-order style with a time slot and we had a couple of misunderstandings but all resolved with a smile. You could ask for extra if you wanted. A very big shout out to again Kathrine and chef who both very kindly helped out with storing insulin in their kitchen fridge. Room fridges are basically switched off due to the current circumstances. Thank you both again for helping in this situation. In fact all Hilton team members we encountered were extremely nice. A secure underground garage is located directly under the hotel €25 per night. Since we will now be traveling frequently between countries, this hotel will now be our stopover choice for future trips. For those who travel by train the hotel is directly across from the station. I look forward to staying again in the future.

It is easier to choose Kempinski Hotel in Germany, and the location and service are among the best in the local area. This Munich store is located in the center of the old town, on a street with luxury brands. It takes only a few minutes to walk to Marienplatz, the Royal Palace and the Hofbräuhaus. Freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast is particularly delicious, packed in clear glass bottles. Although there are not many types, the meat loaf and small sausages taste good, and they feel better than the restaurants outside. The standard room is nothing special, the bathroom is quite spacious and has a smart toilet lid, which is rare in Europe. The hotel’s swimming pool is not big.
