I didn’t expect much from this hotel since the rate is quite cheap. But I’ve stayed at similarly priced hotel within its vicinity and that hotel is better in many ways. Firstly, toilet seat is really gross. I don’t think it would cost the management a lot to change the toilet seat. Secondly, breakfast is just a packed rice together with really bad coffee. I had to look for coffee at a cafe nearby. To think that Acheh is actually known for its coffee...sigh. Lastly and this is the ultimate no-no for me, the housekeeping just turned the quilt cover upside down in an attempt to show that he has changed it. What a joke?

Its been a long time since this hotel launched in banda aceh I'd like to stay with my family. I stayed at ramadhan month for 1 night with 2 rooms. New hotel ambience still around, so almost going well except lobby that not modern or not sophisticated. Manag hotel can change it maybe. Menu in restaurant when we got sahur is good looking and satisfy. If sahur menu is very good usually the breakfast menu good as well, could be maintained. One more thing please hotel staff more anthusiasm and much more smile that indicate they welcomed guest very well.

We stayed for one night before a morning flight to Medan. The hotel is very central right next to Pizza Hut and not as located on Booking.com. The room was spacious , well equipped and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom was quite small but had a great powerful shower. A/C worked perfectly. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast offered a good range of local foods. The only down side was the enormous amount of light pollution seeping into the room despite thick curtains. This was coming from the hotel itself and the streets around as it sits right on the circle. Also there was very loud music playing either coming from within the hotel or from a location very nearby. Fortunately it stopped at 11pm. Maybe we were just unlucky that night. Perhaps a room facing the back of the hotel would solve these issues. All in all it is a good place to stay if you want to spend time in Banda Aceh city. I would recommend it and would stay there again.

The room is small and they still use squat toilet, that wouldn't be a problem for some people, but you aren't used to it I suggest you to look for another hotel. Don't expect too much. I hope the staff can welcome the customer with smile.. And no lift.. But if you, by perforce, have to stay here, please enjoy Mi Aceh right beside the hotel.

We decided to stay in Arabia on a way to Pulau Weh after long and tiring journey from London. We were hoping for a relaxing stay and didn’t mind spending a bit more to get a chance to sleep in a comfy bed after so much travelling. And while the exterior of the hotel and reception area looks just like advertised, the rooms themselves were way below expected standard and reception staff... omg just painful. So, just to start. We booked our stay way in advance. Upon arrival (5 pm) nobody bothered to help us with the luggage. After dragging them inside we were informed (with great difficulty) that our rooms are still dirty and we have to wait - 10 mins. No big deal right? Well, I mean after travelling for almost 24 hrs, sweaty and tired af I really wanted to just finally chill in my room but ok. Happens. After half an hour waiting with no info what so ever I asked to use the toilet. Answer: ”no, room dirty’. Either there was no other toilet available (sic!) or staff was just too dumb to let me use it..? Anyway, difficult to know because of the ladies in the reception hardly spoke any English - and I mean it. Don’t get me wrong, I worked in Asia and I did not expect any great language skills from them but if you claim to be a three star hotel at least have someone who can understand a toilet question. Finally, after almost an hour long wait rooms were ready and we were asked to pay - before seeing the rooms of course. The girls in the reception seemed to not know if they accept visa (?): “card?” “Yes card” “oo” “it’s visa” “visa?” “Yes visa. Is Visa ok?” “Visaaa” “ ok? Cash ok?” “Visa?” And so on. I spare you, it was painful. when they finally decided they take visa, they took the payment without having any paper in the card machine. The receipt didn’t print and we were stuck standing there with them wondering what to do (I guess. They were just staring at the machine and talking between each other holding the card and completely ignoring us) It was ridiculous. Eventually my husband was asked to show his bank statement (sic!) to prove to them that the payment went through and even after he did so the ladies were still standing there, staring at the machine and completely ignoring him talking to them. He literally was standing there saying “so can we go to the room now please? Hello? Is it ok now? Can we go?” And they flat ignored him. So we took the card and just left - great customer service. Negatives: - one electric outlet in the room (seriously?) - rooms were damp and windowless. Drawers didn’t close. Sinks in the bathroom wobbly and water was leaking on the floor. Concrete missing near utilities. Paint coming off the ceiling because of the humidity- I know, Asia but then for 50£ a night??? - Literally as I am writing this review I noticed a cockroach walking on the bedside table, was going to give it 2 stars but that’s that gone. - Smelly Positives: - decent WiFi - atm nearby - seems clean (b

Stayed only one night, however I could have stayed longer. The desk service is very efficient and friendly, they booked a taxi to the airport for us, also a trip around the town the day before. Took a meal in the restaurant, there was another table with three very noisy men and a woman - so noisy infact we moved outside to eat as it was very rude of those people to be laughing and shouting in a restaurant, staff apologised but it was not their fault, the people who caused the noise should have apologised. Breakfast was open at 06:00 just before we checked out, there was a good choice of fresh food to choose from. The rooms are clean, have a TV, bathrooms a good size shower with plenty of hot water. Fridge in the room - a coffee maker but no kettle! The bed was large and very comfortable I didn't want to get up at 04:30 but had not choice! Would stay here again.

I put my expectation to a lower key when I arrived, but anyway this hotel —even in its uniqueness— met the standards that I was expecting from a hotel away from home. The hotel is managed by the Bencoolen group from North Sumatra; the service is thus standarized. The rooms are well kept, even it is much conventionally designed. The hot water runs, the amenities sufficiently stuffed. At the food and beverage side, I appreciate the good “Aceh noodles” and the “Acehnese martabak” that to my experience were good, compared to other food stalls in the city.
