Very helpful with getting a room as we had a great need for six night stay and needed it the night we called. Rashid was very helpful and the shuttle was very useful getting us downtown and to the ferry. Would stay again.

The Landing Hotel and Restaurant is comfortable, clean, and in a great location. Kayla, our shuttle driver, picked us up from the harbor and offered to take us anywhere within the city limits. She was friendly and helpful for recommendations in town. We had lunch in The Landing Restaurant (Jeremiah's Pub) and it was delicious! (I highly recommend the halibut fish and chips!) Anne was our waitress and she was very upbeat, kind, and thoughtful. :) The hotel room is spacious with a comfortable bed and was very clean and tidy. All of the staff members that we met were friendly and helpful! Thank you, The Landing crew! This is the place to stay while you're in the beautiful town of Ketchikan.

Several things about this place were very disappointing. First of all, it seems only logical that a hotel that provides a kitchenette in the room would provide some basic cooking items like dishes and cookware. Instead they have items to purchase in the lobby. Like the rooms aren't expensive enough. Then what are you supposed to do with the stuff when you leave? It all gets thrown away - just what we need - more crap in the landfill! Not very environmentally-minded, My Place. Secondly, when I made the reservations I asked for a dog-friendly room. When I checked in and reminded the gal at the desk she shook her head and said, "It would have been nice to know that when you made your reservation." Thirdly, I had requested a late checkout because I was working in town and needed a little extra time. The night before we left I called the desk to ask about it. We were told that we could check out at 1 pm. At 11 am the next morning my husband got a call from the desk saying housekeeping was trying to get in to clean. When he told her we had arranged to check out at 1 she said that late checkout is at noon, "then we'll start charging you." When I called the "acting manager" she talked over me and lectured me about how the girl who gave us the late checkout was new and we needed to get out and she would be sending a bill to my employer for a half day. When I came back to check out, the "manager" was just outside the front doors smoking. She was standing in front of the "NO SMOKING" sign. Needless to say, we won't be staying there again.

The location and cost of the Gilmore Hotel was the deciding factor in making reservations there. Their awesome employees will be the reason I recommend it to family and friends when visiting my nephew in Ketchikan. Their pride in their hometown and exceptional service ensured a wonderful stay in town. They were warm and welcoming and were as excited as we were to chat about what we saw that day. When asking about my trip to Ketchikan, I always start with the amazing staff at the Gilmore Hotel.

I stayed in the Star for 10 days and loved it. Got to see the salmon jumping out my window and the seals cracking their fins on the water. They were very active when it rained. My room had a jacuzzi which I used everynight! Was the reason I rented the room. I was told by the owners it was the Honeymoon Suite so I Honeymooned by myself :) The owners, Steve and Perry, were fabulous and Afton was the best so very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. She went above and beyond to make my stay fantastic. Being directly downtown made it very easy to get around. A lot of the other hotels you would have had to take the bus which was most always full or rent a car which I did none of. I walked everywhere. The enabled me to talk to a lot of the locals which was my intent. The cruise ships coming into port is what makes this town what it is. It bases everything on those ships. I flew in. I met some wonderful people in Ketchikan and would definitely give this hotel a triple thumbs up. You guys rock! Was so wonderful to meet you all.

Best Inn I have ever stayed in...love this place. Desk clerks are so nice and friendly, other employees are friendly as well. My room was clean and cute. It was tiny but had everything necessary for comfort and best of all it had a little covered deck with a sliding glass door to it where we we could sit, even when storming and watch the boats, ferries, barges, cruise ships, float planes, helicopters and jets coming and going on the water...amazing. Yes, it was noisy but I am used to that sort of thing and find it exciting to watch. Best place ever and I will stay nowhere else in Ketchikan! Hats off to these folks...they do it right!!!
