Opposite the hotel is the Liberty Square, not far from the big shops in the arches. Although there are not many big-name stores to visit. The hotel is on the side of the road, there is a row of open-air dining seats at the entrance, so if the taxi stops at the roadside and there is more luggage, you have to go to the hotel to call the doorman to help with the luggage. We set the room with a terrace, the same as the photo display. The terrace room has several rooms in the row of bungalows behind the hotel. The space is spacious, that is, the subway feels vibrating when the subway passes through the ground. There are some in the four-star standard room. There is a corner sofa in the room, which can be a single bed to sleep. The breakfast room is relatively small, the content is still ok, the dessert fruit is more, the bread salad is also cold cut meat, the only thing that is not fried eggs.

I stayed 7 nights at Senator Maiden in one of their apartment style rooms (kitchen, living space, bedroom and bathroom) and my girlfriend and I both absolutely loved it. It was clean, comfortable, stylish and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. They set up a covid test for me, arranged transport, and even arranged to have some groceries delivered when we failed to find what we were looking for! Then there's the location, which is nearly perfect. The hotel is situated in the heart of Kyiv, about a one minute walk from Victory Square. It's absolutely gorgeous! And finally, the price was unbeatable. I'm shocked at how affordable the hotel was given how nice it was. I paid only about $130 (3500 uah) per night for an entire apartment! This was during the pandemic though, so that could have been at least part of the reason it was so affordable. I will definitely stay here again! Супер!!!

The management and staff at this hotel are excellent. On Friday I had a minor operation and developed complications. The surgeon told me I was at high risk of developing a blood clot if I flew. At two days notice I had to cancel. I have always wanted to visit Kiev to experience this historical heritage. We also wished to show solidarity to the Ukranian people. The hotel had arranged a taxi transfer for us as well. Even though sadly we never got to the Hotel Gintama I know it is a great place through the courtesy and respect they displayed. I hope to see you around Christmas time and experience your beautiful hotel and city

We absolutely loved this hotel. The ladies at reception were welcoming and helpful, the barman was friendly and the breakfast team was great. Our room, the junior suite, was good value, comfortable and clean. We loved the decor, style and history of the hotel. And we don't understand the negative comments about breakfast! Although slightly chaotic, it makes perfect sense to order from a menu - far less waste of food when everything is prepared freshly rather than sat around at a buffet breakfast to be thrown away. Yoghurt, fruit salad, toast, omelette or eggs, juices, pancakes, sausages, cheese, ham.. What more do you need? Wish we'd stayed longer. Don't change Natsionalny, you're perfect as you are.

Unfortunatelly there is not so many high quality hotel options in Kyiv, but that one has one of the best view, the roof is really lovely. Service very good, nice team they have. Rooms looks awesome and smells clean not only just clean. Smell of cleaning makes me sleep more comfortable and easy so that one provides you that bonus! If we will be able to afford the price of this hotel, we would definetly come much more offen.

If you have tight budget and need to stay in Kyiv for several days, it's a good choice. This hotel isn't luxury at all and doesn't try to be like this. However, rooms are clean, staff is nice, prices include breakfast. There is a parking near hotel and you can park your car in any time in the night. I had to do it at 3 AM, no problems. If you need the room for the long stay, you'd better choose smth in the city center or look for apartment at Airbnb. I am satisfied with my stay and I would choose this hotel once again.

I would avoid coming here unless you speak good Russian or Ukrainian. I speak very basic Russian which was not good enough to sort out problems & nobody seems to speak English or any other major European languages. I chose this hotel as the description said there was room service, a restaurant & bar. As a solo traveller, I prefer room service for my evening meal so I was rather annoyed to be told the restaurant was “closed” on my first night & I tried again on the second night to be told it was “closed” again. No reason given & my Russian isn’t good enough to discuss more in depth. I took a picture of the room service menu below which clearly says it is available until 9pm. The light sensor in the corridor did not work meaning I had to use my phone as a torch. The immediate area is nice & old but not suitable for the less mobile. It’s hilly with cobbled stones. The rooms were clean & simple & there was a basic minibar. Only half a toilet roll was provided with no spare. Other inconveniences were that I could not switch on the bedroom light unless I switched the bathroom one on too! There is no plug socket near the bed, nor a bedside lamp, nor a light switch. Kiev is a very nice city but I’d advise staying elsewhere & checking reviews carefully to ensure there is no false advertising. I feel a bit cheated that I paid for facilities that do not exist!

Our apartment was very spacious and clean, staff is very friendly and each day have tidy up our room. The apartment contained of a small kitchen with fridge and microwave, no stove to cook on. Coffee and tea was provided also as a bottle of water. Two TV’s one in the bedroom and one in the leaving room which also have an Air-con. Apartments are located app 8 minutes walk from the Golden Gate and app 12 minutes from two very good restaurants. Georgian food at ChaCha Bar where you will find a good menu selection and an entertainment during the weekend. Second restaurant is Black Piglet which is located a cross from the ChaCha Bar, they are serving very good Ukrainian food for a great price.

The hotel is not big, it is a small hotel that is converted from an apartment building. Each room in the hotel is decorated with special features. The rooms are not big about 15 square meters. Each room is decorated very warmly. Some rooms need to be shared. The bathroom, the room we booked is a separate bathroom, the room is not well-oriented because it is shaded, and there is no sunlight during the day. The rooms are relatively clean and the bathroom is quite clean. Our room is facing the front desk, and there is a small kitchen next to it, which is very suitable for free travel like ours.

First of all the staff can not do enough for you, helped to organise Chernobyl tour, any advice, English excellent. Rooms are spacious, modern, clean and excellent shower. Breakfast is your typical European breakfast but something for everybody. The only thing that lets it down is location but we knew before we booked that. It was nothing an Uber couldn’t fix. Would definitely recommend to any person travelling to Kiev.

The Vozdvyzhensky looks nice from the outside. It's in a very wealthy part of the city, surrounded by money-laundered art and fashion houses dripping with corruption. Our stay was ghastly, and I would urge anyone thinking of staying here to sleep rough by way of preference. What makes it so awful - as is true of any venue - is the usual: our room was cramped ("boutique" shouldn't equate to tiny), there was neither tea nor coffee in our room, the air-conditioning didn't work, and - unforgivably - the service was atrocious. The lady working at reception couldn't have done less for us, and she appeared genuinely put-out that we had chosen the Vozdvyzhensky for our stay. Her ice-pick features and rude responses to simple questions (noting that she spoke good English) extended to the overt kick-back arrangement she was operating with the "one" taxi service the Hotel used in the city. A journey from the Hotel to the airport should cost no more than 550H. She quoted just under 800. Fortunately, the driver agreed to take us for 600. We were happy to tip him. The breakfast was again dreadfully served (although our poached eggs were very fine), and not one of the staff smiled or thought even to engage with us, or the other guest with whom we shared breakfast. Rudeness is unacceptable in a hotel over-charging like this place, and we would never under any circumstances return. This is an appalling hotel - made pathetic by its hilarious use of coffee-table pornography in the lobby. Go instead to the Hotel Opera. The receptionist at the Vozdvyzhensky should probably do the same and learn a thing or two.

We chcked in here after booking a horrible hostel. The room was very clean, had everything we needed, including a hairdryer. Comfortable stay, staff were friendly. There is a restaurant around the corner. However it is only around 25/30 minute walk to the main sqaure in Kiev. You can get Uber's very cheap around £1.50 depending on time of day. The hotel was wifi which is a life saver when you are travelling from the UK for maps etc.

Very tricky for late arrivals. Our plane landed after 1 during the night. Hotel is 10mins taxi drive away from the airport but it is almost impossible to find it without asking people. Fortunately our taxi driver did it for us as it would be difficult with our basic Ukrainian language knowledge. There is no signage at all and you need to know the exact door, floor number and apartment number. Hotel is actually a large apartment converted to 5 rooms and small reception. Hotel is on the 5th floor of a large office looking building, in a back alley next to metro station. We felt bad checking in so late as the lady at the reception is sleeping behind the desk when all the rooms are occupied. Doors to rooms need changing. They are too thin and have a milk glass pannel in them for some odd reason (first time I see that in a hotel). You can therefore hear every move at the reception (which is 2m away from the door) and see the light from the lamp shining through the glass pannel. There is no bathroom in the twin room. Bathroom is just outside which means in front of the reception desk. It is not great, I would much rather have a smaller room but with a tiny bathroom supplied. However, the beds were very comfortable and clean. Not close to the centre but 15mins on metro which is just outside and extremely cheap. Staff were friendly and polite, good price.

Had a huge room on the 3rd floor. Room includes TV, sofa, desk, minibar (reasonable prices too compared with western Europe). Shower room also large. Restaurant has a mixed menu but includes Ukrainian dishes - the waiter recommended the borscht to start (delicious). Breakfast buffet includes all the usual stuff. Customer service is really good but the restaurant team are a bit too keen to clear the plates as soon as you finish eating. The hotel is not in the city centre so you will need a taxi to get downtown but there is parkland surrounding the hotel.

Now I have my favorite place in Kiev. That hotel is charming, cozy, clean, with delicious food and wonderful staff. I liked each day in the city because city is amazing but hotel makes it even better. Few life hacks: - take a room with garden view - ask for cheese pancakes for breakfast. They are not in menu but they can do it without additional charge and with homemade jam it is super tasty - use free transfer to subway. It takes up to 5 min but in cold time it is big help - if you are in the city and dont want to use subway and transfer by hotel send message to hotel to call you a taxi. It will be much cheaper than negotiations with taxi drivers. Later I discovered that Uber works well in Kiev but if you dont use it hotel service works perfect. - hotel organised the trip to Chornobyl for me in group tour for good price. Also I ordered 3 hours excursion with them and their guide Olena was wonderful. Also I need to say about my room. It was well decorated and maintained. As I said before the atmosphere of hotel is very romantic. Will keep great memories and next time will stay there for sure. Coffee is great and hot croissance are yammy as food overall.

Nice apartment hotel in the center of Kiev. There is a small grocery store nearby. Metro and shopping centers are also very close. Apartment clean and well maintained. Very nice balcony. Friendly brunette at reception. The rest of the other staff's members concerns focused on multiple requests to get my precise check out time. A little weird to answer this question several times a day. Later I was informed that the problem was with taxis. As it turned out there are almost no taxis in the whole city and they had to be ordered several days in advance ... wtf? I must admit that earlier it didn't work also, because in my hotel booking request I had ordered and recieved approval for a transfer from Zhuliany airport to apartment, but no one was waiting for me at the airport when I arrived in Kiev. And just after a multiple calls to reception and about 40-minute wait, taxi arrived at airport. Despite the various misunderstandings in general, this place has a great price-quality ratio and can be recommended for other travelers.

I was there for a conference course and the conference services were good - coffees and canapés etc. The hotel itself is very much an appendage to its conference function, it seems. The location is not good, as it is far from the centre (you would need a taxi or navigate the metro) and with no good restaurants in the area. Rooms were good - beds comfortable and bathrooms clean and functional. Laundry service within the day if delivered before 09:00 hours (though be careful with woolen garments. One sweater of mine did not fare well). The hotel bar and restaurant(s) are not very inviting - the bar situated in-between the reception and one restaurant, giving it a feeling of a waiting room. The adjoining restaurant had tables equipped with tall bar-stool-like chairs for the most part, and the lighting was inadequate. A dark locale with poor lights does not create a cosy ambience, unfortunately. Also, the back-ground music (?) was of the modern kind, with repetitive, synthetic beats that do not really encourage relaxation. Reception staff was helpful. Breakfast was adequate witout being memorable. A breakfast bag was on offer for early departures. As an added element, there were presentations of famous artists' works on the various floors (Kandinsky, Malevich etc), though with reproductions of variable quality only.

I stayed on the 10th floor in a large corner room. On arrival the room was 10c and even 24 hours later was struggling to make 19c. I found a large gap around a window and reported it to reception, they sent a guy to 'fixit' and also another heater. The fix didn't work and cold air was still gushing in but the extra heater made a big difference. The room was of typical Ukrainian build quality with sloping walls, badly finished tiles and things that should have been picked up on a build inspection. Bed was good, staff really good and helpful. Only major complaint is the road noise and regularly was woken by the noise of cars racing up and down outside.
