A 15-minute bus ride from Iwakuni Station, great location with views of the river and Kintai Bridge. Staff was excellent, friendly, and very helpful. Gift shop in the lobby. Dinner in the dining rook was good. We were a little surprised when we got to the breakfast buffet - seems there was a tour group inside right before it opened, so it was a bit crowded. Food was plentiful, good but not excellent excellent. Our room had a wonderful view of the bridge, and was unique since there was a traditional tatami room, as well as a Western room with twin beds. Could have slept 4 people easily. The onsen with rotemburo was wonderful after a day of sightseeing.

I really wish I could rate Hotel Trend higher, but I felt it was just an average hotel. Some positives were the staff. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel did include breakfast, there is a small charge for breakfast, but they had a lot to offer. I was not a fan of all the waste that is used for preparing the breakfasts. Each dish is bite sized and they wrap it in plastic, which accumulates to a lot of waste. The food was good though, and traditional. The rooms and bathrooms were on the smaller side. I recently moved to Iwakuni and had three suitcases leaving little room inside. But the rooms were clean and had all the necessary items. My biggest frustration with the hotel was the Wi-Fi. My room rarely had a strong connection, and I had to get help several times. Overall, Hotel Trend is a basic hotel that is worth it for a few nights but it does have it's limits.

Stayed here for two nights. The hotel is located close to Iwakuni station and is easy to find. It’s clean, newish and small. The room was fine, only the bare minimum of amenities though. No shower cap, brush and the like, only a toothbrush and razor. This place is a bit stingy on those things, it provides a water boiling pot but no complimentary tea or coffee in the room. Only 2 towels as well. It did have an awesome massage chair though that made up for the lack of some other amenities. Breakfast was prepared in the small lobby area, had bare essentials but tasted alright. I didn’t try the public bath as there were not enough towels. There was a persistent smell of sweat in the hallways. The door and windows are not sound proof so it can get noisy. You hear everything from the hallway and most of the traffic and trains from the station nearby. It was an okay hotel but all things considered, a bit pricey fro the service.

The hotel is very big and the rooms are very big, similar to the domestic standard rooms, which are considered to be very big rooms in Japan. The facilities are slightly dated and very clean. The hotel is in the suburbs and very quiet. Opposite is Miyajima Shrine, you can see Torii. The location is a bit off, the hotel has a shuttle bus to the subway entrance, which is very convenient to Miyajima and the subway.
