Family of 5 traveling to Hiroshima, two rooms, 3 in one and 2 in another. We found the hotel room to be more spacious than the room we had in Tokyo in which we could barely have room to walk by our bed even with our luggage folded. The room we had had two double beds a desk/table area with hot pot and complimentary tea and a small refrigerator. The wash basin was outside of the restroom with the bath and toilet. For three people there was ample room in respect to how Japanese hotel rooms can be. We liked the energy efficiency of the room lights going off if your room card was not in the light slot on the wall. The Japanese breakfasts served was not fantastic but for the price of the hotel we found it to be very good and the main items did change daily which was nice. The beds were on the firm side but we have had a lot firmer which was more like sleeping on concrete in other hotels. If we visited this area again, we would stay at this hotel again. It was clean and the housekeeping staff were pleasant and refreshed our towels by leaving new towels in bags with all new amenities (toothbrushes, etc) on our door if we did not want the room cleaned for the day. It was also conveniently located across from the train station and 7-11 on the corner made it convenient for late night snacking.

Let me talk about the advantages first: it is about an eight-minute walk from the train station, and it is convenient to go anywhere. The public baths on the roof are very good, and there are not many people. There are massagers. It is a place I must go every day. Supplies are actually Pola. The disadvantage is that it is near the road, and the sound insulation is not good. At night, the identity of the car motor makes me feel that I sleep in the middle of the road, it is difficult to sleep, the equipment is relatively old, and there is no humidifier in the room. As for the size of the room, for Chinese people, small double rooms are suitable for one person, and single rooms are better to go to a capsule hotel. But most of the station hotels in Japan are like this, and there is nothing to talk about.

I stayed there with 2 other french friends. It is more than just a clean place. It has an atmosphere. You can play some old video games on the second floor and enjoy a great bar on first floor. The barman would do everything he can to help you talking with Japanese people. Great place to meet some locals 😀

Stayed at this hotel two nights, booked two rooms. Decor is kitch in reception area, but rooms clean with modern bathrooms - small but perfectly formed. Staff helpful as we had to move teenagers as their room smelled of smoke (supposed to be non smoking). Lift starts on second floor so you have to take your luggage up one flight of stairs - will help you with your luggage if you require.

We moved to this hostel after an awful stay for the same price on the other side of town. I haven’t got a bad word to say about akicafe apart from that the coffee shop downstairs closes on Tuesday and Wednesday (the two days we stayed!) we eventually got to sample the coffee on the day of check out and it was the best coffee I have had in Japan. The dorms are so well designed in a capsule format with lights, plugs, a fan and lockers all built into your own bunk. It’s so private and you can’t hear anyone else once your in with the curtain shut. The toilet and shower facilities are spotless with all toiletries provided. The station is so close it makes a great base for day trips. All in all a fabulous hostel I would stay here again.

The hotel's lobby decoration is very European. When you come in, there are some facilities. The hotel facilities are still relatively old. However, it is only a day when the things are quite complete. The hotel should be upgraded to the hotel. The hotel room is very large and there is a massage chair. Less, but the taste is not bad, the attitude of the hotel staff is also very good.

Wasn’t hard to find at all. Close to station. Were given very clear instructions on how to get to the apartment. Doors easy to get in. Very clear instructions on how to use all appliances in the apartment. (Is being English and my Japanese) everything was translated in a welcome binder. Very helpful Kitchen was nice as we cooked a few meals for ourselves. A/c was nice on the hot days. Big fridge/freezer. Enough body wash/shampoos/etc available. Made you feel right at home

This hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Hiroshima Station. If you don't want to walk you can take the streetcar - take southwest exit, follow the signs to streetcars. Take #1 or #2 to Kanayamacho stop. Hotel is about 5 min. from that stop. We used Google Maps and had no trouble finding things (once it figured out where you were). If the timing is right, there is "loop" bus that stop nearby (the hotel has a map) and goes to various points of interest. It is free if you have a JR pass. There is another loop bus (not sure if it's free with JR pass)- south exit, bus lane #1..shuts down after 4pm. You can get a route map from the transportation information center. The hotel has seen better days but it was fine for a couple of nights. The rooms were clean with good AC. We had a view of the river and the city. We reserved rooms with breakfast included. It was filling and had good variety. The staff was friendly, and helpful. The only problem I had was I reserved 3 single rooms and was told that they had to give us 1 single and 1 twin room because of overbooking.

This is a great little place, with excellent service, if you are looking for a no-frills hotel. Excellent place for a tourist who is more interested in the rest of the city. I strongly recommend this place for great service, which I will complement at length later. First let me note that 'hotel' and 'b&b' are a tad generous. It is like a b&b in that it is operated by a single proprietor, so the desk is not manned 24/7. Be sure call ahead in the afternoon if you will be a late arrival. The place was clean, room was modest, with shared western bath. We did not have breakfast included, and I do not recall if it was available. We did not inquire as to spa services, nor did we find the spa lounge, which we might have used. The small lobby was the only common space we saw. Also, the cab driver did not know where it was - it is right behind the APA Hotel Ekimae Ohashi, so I would just have them drop you off there, then walk though the car-port. Long story short: I deeply appreciate that the proprietor: 1) picked up the phone and came to check us in at midnight, after the front desk closes 2) upon discovery that I had lost my passport, offered to help me locate it in the morning, 3) when I stated I would return to the train station immediately to notify the railway, he graciously joined me and acted as translator 4) that, in the morning, he, independently, contacted the railway station to see if it had been found and emailed me with the update, and when to return to pick it up.

Pro: Definitely a great hotel to stay in. Good location, right next the Hiroshima JR/Shinkansen Stn. There are also airport bus and sightseeing bus right outside the hotel. Con: room rate on the more pricey side. Glass panel separating the shower area seems easily breakable if not careful, probably should improve on the safety of that or use shower curtain instead

This hotel is a relatively old hotel and may need refurbishment especially with its rooms. But what it lacks in room design, it makes up for great location, good hotel maintenance and staff service. Check-in is quite fast. Room and lobby are clean. They don't have the toiletries in the room but if you ever need any such as grooming kits, coffee or tea, you can readily get it from the lobby. The cotton pajamas give a nice touch as well. What I appreciate about this hotel is the close proximity to the main tourist spots in downtown Hiroshima. If you get the tourist pass, you can just conveniently walk to the bus stop for less than five minutes and you can have access to the 3 types of city tourist buses that go to all tourist spots in the city including the Hiroshima Station. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is about 7-10 minutes walk. The Atomic Dome is about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Shopping district is likewise a few minutes walk from the hotel. We did not try the breakfast at the hotel but there are several cafes/restaurants across the street so you can easily grab a bite from anywhere near. For its price, this hotel is good for a short stay in Hiroshima.

This is a great stay in Hiroshima. We couldn’t fault the service, amazing views, or quality breakfast. I do think it’s unfortunate that they do not include access to the gym and pool as part of the tariff, which they clearly advertise as an amenity in their marketing photos and descriptions. I’ve never stayed in a hotel before where they charge for access to an amenity like a pool or gym that is already part of the property. What’s more, the fee for access is ridiculous, even with a 50% off coupon that you receive upon check-in. It was over $40 AUD to access the gym and pool. Feels like money gouging, totally unnecessary, and left a bad taste as a guest. At any rate, there are many great public baths you can visit in Japan for about ¥400 but this hotel would significantly improve the guest experience if they gave up on charging for an amenity that is included in the tariff for other hotels.

Almost part of Hiroshima station so it takes about 5 mins to check in after you arrive on the Shinkansen. Friendly staff and the rooms are good. There are also lots of restaurants nearby both in the station and just out the other side. It’s only about 2.5km to the Atomic Bomb done so is easily walkable. I also recommend you hire a car - there are a couple of hire places right beside the hotel- and drive to Kure and the other islands beyond. These are really great and I think a path less travelled as there were so few people. Mitarai was excellent as was the old house linked to Korea.

We only stayed a night and only checked in in the evening and checked out next morning so this may not be too accurate. The room is really small. We have a room with twin beds. Beds are comfortable. Hardly room for 2 luggages to open up. No shower cap or water bottles provided. This is a new hotel and room is very clean.

The Hotel is quite far from the Train Station so either use a taxi (about 2200 Yen) or the Meipuru-pu bus Service. From the Train Station at the North Exit, if you have a JR Pass you can freely use the Hiroshima Meipuru-pu hop-on hop-off Bus Service that will stop at the Namiki-dori Stop which is just outside the Mitsui Garden Hotel Hiroshima. Take either the Blue, Lemon or Green lines (do not take the Orange). It is free if you have the JR Pass. The Hotel in general is quite new and clean and appears modern. The rooms are small and clean which is the norm in Japan. It has a very deep bath tub. The Air Conditioning lowest setting is very hot (says 20 degrees). We turned off the A/C but it was still extremely hot in the room. The shower height is not adjustable (temperature and pressure are). In the room they provide multi media recharging adapters which is always helpful. The Hotel is in walking distance from the A Dome, Peace Park and Museum. The restaurant diagonally at the back is great if you like sashimi and sake though be prepared for smokers. Walking behind the Hotel about four blocks is a main covered shopping area full of restaurants and other shops. They have 100 Yen shops called "Can Do" that have many bargains. We would use this Hotel again.
