Hotel was not new to start with but normal 3 stars standard though price is a little expensive for hundred twenty something per night with breakfast catered to group of athletes than the comfort restaurant which normal guests have. Location to mart and 2 DONER food shop is 5min walk. But to city centre Berlin or Berlin wall is about 40min single trip of around 3 eur by tram. Walking is about hour and half. Quiet hotel, room size big compared to Italy and Holland, and come with Bath tub. 3block with 3rd Haus or block most quiet and farthest from main road. Have gym, and another restaurant that open in afternoon onwards with price of burger at 12 eur. Found out Mcdonald is about 20min walk upward from Renault car showroom direction. Reception is good if you get the good ones who will assist or else, forget about asking then. Remember, Sunday is a dead town as malls and supermarkets are closed. Noted that supermarket opens from Monday to Saturday 7 to 20 pm only. Recommended the hotel if you wish to visit the sport area hall or football field, else, if tourist, better find hotel near central to Berlin which will give easier access to city. Hotel is about an hour by car on normal road or bit of jam or will be faster like 45min if driver take the outer road but went much faster speed. So remember to leave earlier to airport about at least 3.5 hour before flight to be safe. 2 to Mar 2020 staying period for the review.

Beautiful hotel in idyllic residential area. At least a 1 hour walk to centre, close to public transport, even closer to lake and park. Room was clean with small balcony. Quite a few things did spoil the stay for me though. I arrived at 12pm and although I knew at booking that I couldn't check in until 3pm I found it strange that there was nowhere to sit and wait with a drink or some food. I wasn't offered a drink while I waited. There was only one restaurant that was not open, small lobby bar that was not open and the beer garden cafe/bar that was not open. I had come off a long flight, in 30+ degrees and couldn't even get a glass of water at my soon-to-be hotel for the week. When I asked if there was somewhere I could get one from I was told I had to go to a nearby cafe. I came back at 2:30 and asked again if there was really nowhere to get any drink from and the lady finally agreed to get me a drink herself from the lobby bar - a concentrated orange juice and machine cappuccino cost me 9 euro's. I wouldn't recommend buying the breakfast package, I did and missed the first morning as it closed at 10am and I couldn't get a refund, the second morning I made it at 9:45 and was followed round the buffet by a member of the kitchen staff who literally asked me "what are you looking for?" clearly impatient that I hadn't arrived early, at exactly 10am 2 members were next to my table pointing at their watches and telling me my time was up with my bowl of fruit. On the last day I had to leave before breakfast and asked again about a refund for that day, I was told I couldn't but could take something with me from the breakfast bar, however when I went to the breakfast bar the waitress told me I couldn't and had to wait until 6am. One of the bar staff members kept charging me 4 euros for beers that were clearly priced at 3.90 and frustratingly you are not allowed to sit in the beer garden after 9 pm as they chain the chairs to the tables, this was annoying as for me it was the most idyllic part and biggest selling point of the hotel, so there is literally nowhere to go apart from the small uncomfortable lobby bar. Finally, I was also looking forward to using the sauna in the mornings but it doesn't open until 4pm and I didn't see this pointed out when booking. These are many small frustrations that took the shine off a hotel that should easily get 5 stars.

We stayed here in October to take our daughter to a BTS concert in Berlin and we struggled to find rooms in the city. This was the closest we could find to the city centre (about 3 miles away) for a reasonable price and we were quite apprehensive and not sure what to expect. As soon as we checked in, those fears disappeared as the hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean inside. We stayed in an apartment style room and the modern decor and facilities provided were first class and very upmarket for the price that we paid. There is a tram stop right outside the hotel and two trams will get you to the alexanderplatz and a day ticket for the trams is around €7. There is also a petrol station across the road which is handy for toiletries and snacks. My only criticism would be the cost of the breakfast. There were 4 of us staying and it was €40 in total per day for breakfast and it was a continental style first come first served basis with a very small choice of food on offer. We would definitely stay there again but maybe save money and get breakfast elsewhere.

My wife and I recently stayed in this hotel during a five day stay in Berlin. Having stayed in Motel L in Stockholm and because this is part of the same chain of hotels, we thought we would be in safe hands and we were right. The hotel, although not much to look at on the outside, is clean, spacious and modern inside. The rooms are a little basic but they're a decent size with comfy beds, new double glazing, clean curtains and furnishings and a good bathroom with a powerful shower and no shortage of hot water. It was also very quiet with little outside noise heard. My one criticism of the room is the stupid PIR activated light in the bathroom meaning you are frequently plunged into darkness whilst having a shower resulting in frantic waving outside the curtain (often to no avail) or having to shout on each other to come in and activate the light again. What's wrong with a light switch? Breakfast was plentiful and varied in a large restaurant area and we were never disappointed with anything we ate. Even towards the end of serving time stocks were kept high. The staff are really nice and friendly and patient with me as I tried out my ropey German. Location wise, there's a supermarket literally over the road which is open till 10pm, a bus stop just round the corner and trams are a bit further on. A bit too far when it's pouring of rain, and be advised that it takes absolutely ages to get anywhere on public transport as you end up having to change several times in some cases. The Stasi museum is just down the road (and well worth a visit, incidentally) but everything else is pretty much miles away but this hotel was much cheaper than equivalent hotels in West Berlin so you can't have it both ways. Would I come back? Nothing wrong with the hotel, but on balance I think I'd try its West Berlin counterpart next time round. But if you need to be in East Berlin for whatever reason, be it cost or it simply suits you better, then you won't go far wrong here.

Great hotel, right next to S Bahn Landsberger Allee and tram stop for M5 and M6 trams that take 10-15 minutes to Alexanderplatz. Supermarket and pharmacy 1 minute walk. Really helpful and friendly staff who made recommendations for local restaurants, the best way to get to places. They were happy to help in everyway (offering to order taxis/lending us an umbrella). Special thanks to Gaia who was really helpful and friendly. My 14 year old loved the hot chocolate that Gaia made for us everyday when we returned after a long day sight seeing. Gaia recommended Saporito and Pomodorino Italian restaurants which are 1 stop on the tram and a 10 minute walk away - delicious ! Breakfast was amazing-buffet style with lots of choice and served until 10.30am. They are part of Too good to go App scheme where you can come to the restaurant at 10.40am and fill a box with food that otherwise would be thrown away. They also take the bread to local hostel. Jenk explained all this to me at breakfast and he was really helpful too. Our room was big, really clean and very quiet. You have a little bag you can hang on the door to say you don’t need your room cleaning and we found sweets and an apple in it when we got back. You can leave bags there on check out day. It’s very handy for Schönefeld Airport - take S Bahn circular train to Trepower Park and the S9 to airport is on the same platform opposite (no climbing stairs etc). We loved getting the trams and busses 100 and 200 from Alexanderplatz which go through central Berlin. We bought Berlin Welcome Card. Thanks to all the staff at the hotel.

Stayed here back in December last year, for a long weekend for the christmas markets before all the covid stuff had kicked off. We had hoped to return this year but due to the ongoing pandemic, its probably going to be 2022 now. The hotel is located in the East of the city. We flew in Tegel and found it a long , inconvenient journey but our return flight wasout of SXF which was much more convenient so the hotel will be pretty convenient for the new Berlin airport which opens soon. The lobby was spacious, trendy and contemporary as were the guest rooms. Our room was quiet though 2 of the lads we were travelling with had rooms overlooking a trainline, so request rooms away from trains. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and we slept well . Everything felt very clean. We booked a hotel with spa facilities so had been expecting an indoor pool! disappointed that there was not one in the hotel however they did have a really relaxing spa area that had a hot whirlpool aswell as the usual saunas , so that was a nice way to chill out in the evenings after a long, cold day in Berlin! Please note however, its strictly trunks off. You have to use the area completely naked , which they say is for hygiene reasons. Although this was a little out of my comfort zone it did not detract us from enjoying the facility, I felt more embarrassed about my friends who i was travelling with having to see me naked though since we were sharing rooms we all owned up to sleeping naked anyway which no longer made it a big deal but for some guests particularly ladies it might be out of your comfort zone, so just making you aware, as its a mixed sex facility though was mainly men the two occasions that we used it which made it a little less awkward!. Breakfast was an extensive buffet which is free and had a great selection of hot and cold food that we thought was above average for a hotel buffet. Its very accesible for getting into alexanderplatz on the tram. Berlin is one of our favorate European cities, its cool, quirky and there is so much to see and do at anytime of the year. This is a great hotel and we look forward to another long weekend once all this horrible covid stuff is over. Staying safe and positive for now because we know that one day we will travel again!!!

The most horrible hostel I ever stayed in! The place is filled with dirty arabic and turkish workers, they stink, they smoke in bathrooms and in their rooms, and they don t follow any Corona distance and gathering rules, and the Generator team doesn t do anything about it! Also the showers are dirty and have old broken shower curtains, the toilets were dirty too often, the bathrooms are for mega masses where people smoke and then open the windows afterwards to let freezing cold in so that I had to freeze every single time taking a shower! Also the Asian cleaning team doesn t understand any English or German, and they disregarded every single time my privacy sign on the door and forced their entry in, once I was half naked and severely bleeding, I had to force close the door several times, and because I couldn t take care of my heavy bleeding at the same time, my floor was full of blood then afterwards! When I told the Generator team about this incident, they gave a damn about it and started to be impertinent with me! Then, after I checked out, I saw on my bank account that this Generator team started to use my credit card illegally and they started to withdraw illegally money from my account, claiming falsely that I had used several beds, what is complete nonsense because I am only one person!!! I reported them for FRAUD!!!!! AVOID! AVOID! THIS PLACE!!!

It's nothing special. You have a room and a bathroom, nothing else is there. BUT the room was really comfortable and clean. It was near several metrostops and a Lidl for breakfast munchies. The center is about 20 min with the tram, so very doable. Would totally recommend for the price!

Having seen other comments on this have decoded to add my own. Usually happy with all Ibis hotels - budget or otherwise -this is the worst one. As others have stated staff at reception were not very welcoming. The shower was either very dirty (some black mould to be seen between tiles) and /or the drains were smelly. It had been a long day and arrived there late so we put up with it for one night (luckily if sitting on the bed you couldn't smell anything. Also the paperwork was left in the room for you to fill in (usually this is done when checking in) but casually left in the room. We only noticed it when heading out in the morning.

A very modern, arty and colourful hotel with lots of graffiti type paintwork in the main lobby and restaurant area. The breakfasts were fantastic with a very good variety of food and probably the best scrambled egg I have ever had in any hotel. The staff were very helpful and service was excellent and we had a quiet and comfortable room. The hotel is situated on the 5th floor of a shopping mall and therefore quite hard to find especially if you are arriving by car. They charge a very reasonable 3 Euros a day to park in the adjacent car park and the U Bahn stop Frankfurter Allee is just round the corner. There are a lot of good restaurants for dinner near Samariterstrasse which is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel or one stop on the U Bahn.

I stayed a few days there as I went on holidays to Berlin for 6 days. I choosed this hotel because, even though is not in central Berlin, it's just a few minutes away from a U5 stop of the U-Bahn (the Berlin underground). The location was so great and convenient because the surroundings of the hotel are very quiet, and you can get to Alexander Platz in no more than 15 minutes! I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Berlin for a few days. There's an Aldi and a Rewe next to it, apart from a Kebab take away which we fondly will remember (4 kebabs in 6 days, needless to say!) The only issue I had it's just that, on the second night (Friday night, 6º of march, room 517) of my stay, my girlfriend wondered if we could get another duvet (as the one she had wasn't enough thick and cosy for her). So I went to reception and asked the receptionist (a man called Igor) who was over there. I said "I was wondering if I could get another duvet, would it be possible?" to him, and he didn't know what I was talking about. On my second attempt, obviously I slowed down and stressed the word DUVET. He still didn't know what I was trying to mean. I repeated it for the third time (there were two people already queuing after me) and all he said was "Sorry,do you speak english?". To be fair I was a bit shocked, because I noticed that he didn't know what the word "DUVET" means, but if you don't know the meaning of a hotel-room related word there are thousands of way to handle that situation ("can you google it?", "can you please show me a picture of it?") rather than questioning the english speaking skills of a guest in front of others and embarrasing him. Apart from that, there's absolutely nothing wrong in not knowing the meaning of a particular word! My mother tongue is not english either and that has happened to me so many times, so I would have absolutely fully understood him. What I didn't understand at all is why he had to deal with it in that way. Anyway, in the end it wasn't a big deal at all as I turned up the heating in the room and my girlfriend was fine with it. Apart from that everything was fine; the staff at reception was lovely ( I dealt mostly with a guy with a beard, nice guy! sorry If I don't remember your name!), same with the breakfast staff! Apart from that I could check in earlier than expected, as I turned up at the hotel at 11, and they already had my room ready for me, which was much appreciated : ) On my last day I could leave my luggage with them as the check-out was at 12 but my flight was scheduled at 21 00. The room was great; very cosy, all toiletries needed were in the bathroom and a lovely shower good enough to have a proper shower after a busy day around Berlin : ) The wifi was great aswell, which nowadays is quite important.Apart from that, we stayed from Thursday till Tuesday and we didn't hear any party goers or annoying people going up and down, which was great and allowed us to h

Breakfast is okay, but it is still more monotonous than the domestic hotel. The location is very good, the entrance is the Potsdamer Platz, there is also a subway station, the Brandenburg Gate, the Parliament Building, the Berlin Shopping Center are very close, and there is a Mobai at the door, very convenient. There are also other companies sharing bicycles with children's seats, but the QR code can't be scanned. I don't know how to use them, but the hotel has a bicycle with a child seat for rent, 30 euros a day, 15 euros a day. To the northwest of the hotel is a large Tiergarten park, which is in a good environment with trees, grass and water.

Our room on the 13th floor was standard category. Spartan in decor, purely functional in layout, the room was clean, the tv worked and it had a minibar plus good view . No tea or coffee making facilities but that might just be a Radisson feature. However, when I needed help in checking in on line for a flight home, the wonderful lady at the Customer Relations desk was just amazing. I never established her name, but think her surname was 'Williti'. She is absolutely a gem and patiently managed to get us check-in with EasyJet, and printed out our boarding cards. Thank you so much. My wife and I were then treated to a trip to the 37th floor to enjoy the magnificent views. It was a very kind gesture and one we won't forget. I hope Radisson Alexanderplatz management appreciate they have a star on their team.

The Riu Plaza is a 4-star place owned by the Spanish Riu chain, obviously aimed primarily at business and conference people. But it's a good place to stay for holidaymakers too. - Very well located in Schöneberg, 150 metres from Wittenbergplatz (and a little further to Nollendorfplatz in the other direction), so pretty easy access on the U-bahn to almost everywhere, and only 1 stop from Zoo Garden terminal for airport buses. - large, airy rooms, with good views (we were on 16th floor), comfortable bed, excellent and spacious shower and good bathroom in general, fast lifts - a good bar, with friendly bar and wait staff, and not overpriced, just off the reception desk area - generally friendly and efficient front desk staff (but see further on) - not expensive, at least in winter; we paid only just over 100 euros a night, which is good value Its flaws are minimal, but...: - Breakfast is too expensive. Sure, it has all the usual breakfast buffet stuff, but it significantly adds to the cost of the holiday to cough up 19 euros pp each day (we stayed 4 nights). Having just come from an excellent central hotel in Lisbon, where we had an excellent breakfast for 12 euros pp each morning, it seemed excessive, so we settled for a nearby cafe each day. - Make sure you put the 'do not disturb' sign on your door each day if you don't want to get up early. The first day we were there, Monday, having arrived in Berlin at half past midnight, we were woken up at 8.45 am by a cleaner banging on the door. Happened again at the same time a couple of days later when we forgot to put the sign out. Sorry, when you're staying for 4 days, there's no reason to clean the room that early - and I blame the management, not the cleaners, who just do what they're told. - Some of the staff are a little slapdash. E.g., the kettle in our room had been ruined by an idiot previous occupant trying to use it as a coffee perculator, so there was a baked-on layer of coffee on the bottom of it. On our way out the next morning, we took it down to the front desk - the guy there actually asked us to take it back up to our room on the 16th floor, and assured us it would be replaced by the cleaners. When we returned from sightseeing 6 hours later, guess what - the ruined kettle was still there in our room. Fail! I know this is a 1st-world problem, but the original front desk guy should have just taken the kettle and organised to get it replaced. When we took it down again, this time the woman on the front desk took it from us, and a short time later a new kettle was in our room. I don't want to criticise the place too much, as it was pretty good overall and we'd stay there again. But it felt a little impersonal, and while most of the staff were excellent, some were not well-trained or motivated enough to deal properly with issues, relatively minor though our's were. Thus, it gets 4 stars, not 5.

A particularly good hotel is a German hotel chain. It didn't have breakfast. It seemed very expensive. The hotel location is very good. It is just 5 minutes walk from the Berlin train station, and there are many subways and buses nearby. The hotel rooms are particularly large and clean, with a domestic 4-star feel. Front desk service is average, English needs to be improved, check-in time cannot be advanced, and luggage can be stored for free. The hotel also offers a free German bus day card, which can save a few euros a day. Especially affordable. Highly recommended. The pictures were taken by me in real life, I hope they can help everyone.

We had our honeymoon at Siam Kempinski Bangkok and we really love it. We booked that hotel because our fave restaurant is situated there, sra bua by kiin kiin. So for our first Yr anniversary, we decided last minute to have weekend in Eastern Germany and try 1 night in Aldlon kempinski and decide later on if we will extend 1 more night or drive somewhere again. My husband was so excited for this stay because of what we experienced in Bangkok. So we checked in today and was given room 302.sadly it was facing the back part of the hotel, with scaffoldings/construction site and smoking area for staff. Wanted to let it pass and just close the curtain but I'm sad thinking how excited my hubby was for this stay. I checked our agoda booking and it stated executive room with street view. So gathered my courage and called reception while hubby was parking the car. As soon as I asked if they have a better view room, I was told that the rate is higher as it is a different room type. When I mentiond about the street view stated by agoda, was then told to wait and he will call back if there is an availability. Male staff called back, I think aryan, saying a staff is on the way to assist. We waited 10 mins not touching anything, to be considerate. Moved to 338.okay Street View indeed. But nothing special. But at least no scaffolding. Not complaining coz that was the booked room. But still dreaminh how beautiful Siam was. Lol. Just wondering if this time of pandemic all the rooms are booked out? If not maybe give the best rooms to guests who takes the risk to travel? Just an opinion (of course to guest's advantage) :D So anyway, even though we are a couple, 338 has 2 single beds joined together but weren't stabilised. When my husband sat on one bed, it kinda moved or rolled. We stared at each other and just laughed it out. We couldn't be bothered calling again to ask for a room change nor someone to fix it. We just want to sleep in tonight and check out tomorrow. Thanks to aryan for calling back to check if we are happy with the 2nd room. He offered to send someone to check on the bed issue but hubby was really tired of the long drive, we couldn't be bothered. Still love kempinski. Maybe not to stay here again, but, next time we come back once sra bua is operating again. Lesson learned, don't expect too much.

We went over to Berlin to celebrate our anniversary as a family. Stayed for 3 nights and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel location is very good as you have restaurants and cafes all around the hotel within walking distance and right downstairs you have a huge supermarket to buy all your daily needs or like me shopping for great items to bring back home to try. The staff at the hotel are very nice and friendly. I want to say thank you to Guest Relation Manager Rika Hundrack for helping me arrange a special surprise for my husband to make our stay a little bit more special! We also went to the gym it is well equip. Rooms are a good size the kids (ages 14 and 11) enjoyed their privacy in the bunk beds room and us too. Just a tip will be nice to have a few more english channels or maybe have the option to change languages in some of the programs. Other than that i cannot think of anything else. As for those who are drive to Berlin there is hotel parking but also free parking outside the hotel just double check with staff which area its on the street where there is a fish cafe is located. Thanks again Mercure MOA Berlin.
