Great location! Just 150 meters from the Cathedral of Our Lady, close to the European platform, a few steps have arrived. The Elbe River can be seen upstairs, with beautiful scenery and several restaurants downstairs. The price is not expensive, strong push.

The hotel is right in the heart of the old town, with all the attractions within easy reach and impeccable location. The breakfast was very good, the room facilities were a bit old, but it was neat and clean, and the three large glass walls of the bathroom won my heart. Tucao hotel elevator, a floor more than 100 rooms, only one elevator three elevators, out of the elevator to the room feels a one-stop walk, dining at the peak of the queue, everyone waits for the elevator. There are many restaurants around the hotel.

Personally, I liked everything about the hotel, maybe except for the choice at the breakfast buffet. The quality was fine, but the variety was pretty limited. Otherwise, I would definitely choose this hotel for my next stay in Dresden. We stayed at the room #417 for four nights in mid-December. The invoice for our stay, including breakfast and parking, amounted to 1166 euros. The room was much bigger than usually with a distinct homely feel. Also it was meticulously clean and had everything for a comfortable stay. The windows of our room faced the square and the church. Despite the Christmas markets it was quiet. I noticed that many complain about the noise from the construction site. For us it was not a surprise, because the hotel is not concealing the fact. I saw the information on the web-page, called to the hotel to check it and asked for their advice about the right room to book. All members of the staff were cordial, professional and helpful. Also I do recommend to use their garage, as you just leave the car at the front entrance and they make it available to you in no time whenever you need it again. And, of course, the location couldn't be better!

We stayed one night in a suite at Vienna House booked through booking.com after filtering for 5 star hotels in Dresden. When arriving it became clear that this hotel does only have 4 stars. We spoke to booking.com and they said the rating is provided by the property and we need to speak to the hotel management. The hotel management then said that it is correct that they have 4 stars but they have 5 points at booking.com. Nobody can explain what the difference is but the hotel management does not see a problem at all. From our point of view this is completely miss-selling and just wrong. The hotel itself is not bad, the location in the city centre is excellent, the rooms are clean. However, the guest service (not only dealing with our complaint) is sub-par (ie we could only choose to have breakfast at 7 or 11 am or a limited room service option), they were not able to book a dinner table at a local restaurant and other basic services were missing (ie it is not easy to actually reach the hotel by car as in central square and the parking is at a different place and not easy to find; so I would expect that when we in advance messaged that we will arrive by car that the hotel provides some information which didn’t happen). It is generally not a bad hotel but miss-selling at 5 star (also here at tripadvisor which receives ratings from other external websites) is just wrong. Therefore I can only rate with 2 points. Instead of a reasonably priced 5 star hotel this is an expensive 4 star option. Please be aware when booking.

We stayed in Apartment 3.07A which is on the 3rd floor of the Annex of the Aparthotel with floor to ceiling panorama windows of the Frauenkirche and Neumarkt with magical vista immediately out of the windows which included the Christmas Markets. Check in and check out by staff was very good and helpful. The apartment was large and very clean with the bedroom at the rear of the apartment, good kitchen and bathroom (with washing machine) and lounge/dining room with the panorama windows and superb views and the atmosphere all visible from the apartment plus very quiet. Very central for walking to other Christmas Markets and points of interest in the city. Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed here on two occasions, one night at the “townhouse” room, another in the “loft” room. While the former I cannot really recommend (don’t see the point of having stairs in your room and the a/c didn’t work, also the furniture was a bit run down), the “loft” is really spacious and pleasant. The hotel is very conveniently located right in downtown Dresden and is easily reachable by car. If you have a large vehicle, in addition to their own underground parking, there is a public car park around the corner. What is really Important is that the management and staff tried very hard to implement safety rules during the COVID pandemic and made us feel very safe. That goes from strict distancing rules and service during breakfast (instead of the traditional buffet) and continues to disinfected TV remotes in the rooms. Good job!

Liked: Location is the best about this hotel. If you have come for the Christmas markets, its probably the best place. The hallway was well-lit and there was carpet, although very worn out, which contributed to the quietness. Another thing about this hotel is the quietness, it has been ages since I have been to such a quiet hotel! I never used my earplugs! There were toiletries and plenty of toilet paper, as well as coffee and kettle in the room. There was a fridge and a safe. There were international channels on the TV. Plenty of wall-plugs and lamps. The bed was comfortable. The room was spacious. There was also space for your bag, it was also well-lit. The closest grocery store is called ALDI and can be found when you go out to the right, and then continue walking, cross the tram tracks and then go to the gallery, where you could also go for shopping. Disliked Its kind of difficult to find in the dark, as the name is not exactly visible compared to the other stores and restaurants next to it. People scream at night in the area, and there was some construction work going on. It was a bit cold, there were no instructions as to how to use the AC, so its good to bring some extra clothes. I was not allowed to pay at arrival, which kind of messed up my plans, I have a set budget, and I always try to pay for my stay, in case my things get stolen, just to make sure my place is guaranteed. The breakfast is a huge disappointment, so save your 15 euros. Its better to go to the grocery store and get something to eat. It will be ten times cheaper. Definitely not for vegans. Unmarked stairs. Fat tourists standing and blocking the door discussing stuff.

We stayed only a single night in this property, but very much wish it could have been more. It was VERY nice for the money we paid, and the location could not be beat! Right on the main square in the old town section, and spitting distance from Frauenkirche. We had booked a studio, but I believe we were placed in a one bedroom unit, as we had an entirely separate bedroom, living room, small kitchen, and bathroom. Incredibly spacious and well appointed. I see comments that it felt a little outdated, and I do not agree with that at all. Perfectly fine in all respects, and incredibly clean. The bathroom had a washer and drying rack for those staying a bit longer, a nice feature. Plenty of towels. A safe for personal belongings was in the very large closet area. Tons of restaurants within a couple minutes walk. Our package did include the full buffet breakfast, located just around the corner (two minutes walk maybe). We found it to be excellent. No complaints at all. It added a few US dollars to our booking, and was well worth that. The charge if you don't prebook is 15 Euros per person, and I'd say it's NOT worth that price as there are numerous other choices nearby. However, for the added cost we paid (if I recall, about 10 dollars total for the both of us, it was well worth it). Staff at reception was helpful and efficient. I'd not hesitate to book this property again.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Great location, within walking distance of every point of interest in the historic city center area. About a 20-25 minute walk from the main train station (we walked it, very straight forward, you walk in one main line through a shopping area, and that leads almost directly to the hotel's front doors). We stayed in an apartment, with a separate bedroom, a very large living room with a pull out sleeper sofa, and a kitchen. The bathroom was large, good water pressure. Note: just be sure you keep an eye on the shower doors, I thought they were properly closed but I ended up mopping the floor after my shower. Oops. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable. Everything you could need in the kitchen, was there. Oven, stove top, microwave, dishwasher, variety of kitchen items for cooking. There is a very cute roof deck as well, looks great for a nice glass of wine and to take in the sunset (sadly we were there when it was raining and cold). Overall the hotel was very quiet, the windows are a type of storm window that shut out the noise very well. We were there on a weekend, so no construction going on, but beware that as of May 2019, there is construction on an opposite corner so that seemed like it might be pretty loud on week days. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, very accommodating, super friendly. Just all around sweet and kind people who were also very professional. Close by are places to get coffee, pastries, several restaurants are a five to ten minute casual stroll away. Taxi stands are a short walk as well, although the hotel staff will order a cab for you as needed. I genuinely loved this hotel, and plan on staying here again, whenever it is I can return to Dresden. Dresden is a very special city, with a very unique history, and is worth visiting.

We spent 3 nights at the Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe, it is centrally located on the square with a view on the famous Frauenkirche. It is perfect for sightseeing in Dresden. Our room had three chairs in addition to a very comfortable bed! Just perfect for relaxing for a moment between sights. The coffee, tea and inclusive minibar, were lovely and added to the level of comfort. Breakfast was plentiful with both warm and cold food options. The staff in the restaurant were quite friendly. When booking this hotel, via hotels.com, do carefully read the hotel cancellation policy. If flexibility is important for your trip beware of the before and after cancellation policy, which is a non-refundable booking. There is a spa in the hotel deep in the basement. A walk down to have a quick peek at the Sauna revealed a sign indicating there is an extra charge (minimal) to use the Sauna. The door was locked and it seemed like more hassle than it was worth.

The Hofgartenhaus is a Guest House run by an Evangelical Order. If you are looking for an hotel experience then maybe you should look elsewhere. If you are looking for a spotlessly clean room at a good rate about 200 mtrs from the Frauenkirche, read on. I spent a lot of time reading the poor / terrible reports on Dresden accommodation and found a pattern of Indifference from Staff, Cleanliness, Wi-Fi issues, Value for Money and Nickle & Diming as one Reviewer put it. I was becoming disillusioned and came across Hofgartenhaus with no adverse reviews. As a Guest House it seems to have a number of older residents, spare rooms being let as available. I was a little later than expected arriving, no problem, key and all necessary information was with the Bistro Cafe attached to the Accommodation. The room allocated was about 4mtrs x 4mtrs simply furnished with a full length seperate shower room. Breakfast was not included, but was available in the Bistro Cafe for which you pay them directly €9-90 per person as taken, Typical German Cold Buffet breakfast Cereals, Yoghurt, Meats, Cheeses, Boiled Eggs, Breads, Juices and Hot Drinks. I took Dinner one day, nicely prepared and good quality. There was a kitchenette available with Tea / Coffee and facilities to prepare and eat your own simple meals if required. I stayed two nights and apart from in the Bistro I only saw one other guest. Location is excellent, right next to the Elbe and close to the centre of the Altstadt. There was a bit of traffic noise, but nothing obtrusive and I did have the window open. Reception was available daytime hours, I did not need any assistance, so the only contact I had was Checkout, which was very friendly. Wi-Fi was OK for my light usage. I did not have a car but noted there was no dedicated parking. Advice was given to use nearby Car Parks which would obviously incur charges, cannot comment on what they might be. Would I stop here again, most certainly would.

I experienced a bad customer service at checking. For parking you need to deposit 10€ for a key to remove a barrier on a parking place. Did not had cash money and the reception refused to give the key and directed me to a ATM. The ATM was probably only for own bankcards so no money given, not even on creditcard. returned back to reception and explained. Again a discussion about the 10€ deposits. Problem would be to credit the amount when taken on credit card, seemed to be difficult. told them I do not care about €10 just want to park the car and have my room key. She finally accepted this. At check out the next day the reception credit the €10 easy to my credit card. What is the problem? The hotel is outdated and so the rooms. The breakfast room is to small for all people. I will book another hotel next time. Not expected this from Accor.

The hotel was good enough prepared for covid-19, all the necessary measures were taken seriously. The staff was nice and friendly. Our room was very clean and it is also very cozy and nicely designed. The location is just perfect if you want to walk around in the city. I would definitely recommend the hotel. I cannot say anything to the breakfast or the restaurant as we did not eat there.

A safe choice to stay in Dresden - great location, several good places around to eat (a morning snack or an evening dine), walking distance to the old town or shopping area, nice & spacious room. Only potential 'drawback' - if you have a room facing church, in the evening it pays for nice and romantic view while sitting in the window, but in the morning most likely we'd be woken up church bells.... :) We had nice & enjoyable stay; will go for it again for my future stays in Dresden.

This place was ok for the night, but nothing more. I'll start by saying that their dinner was very at the restaurant and their breakfast selections were very good, plus the waiter service was nice and attentive. And the swimming pool facility was very nice. That's about it. The beds had one very thin pillow each, the room was spacious but dirty - we even found a shoe from a previous guest in our room (and the staff at the front desk weren't very apologetic or embarrassed by the situation). The hotel looks old and shabby. The shower in the bathroom had underfloor heating which was great, because it managed to evaporate the lake of water left in front of the shower by the following day (sort of). Also, I'm not sure if the hotel couldn't afford a separate door for the shower and the toilet - or if they just thought it was a convenient idea to share them. Make you choose between toilet and shower in a couples. Or if this is just a serious lack of design judgement. The hotel was grossly overpriced for the value that we got. Very disappointed and expected more from a Radisson Blu. We won't be back.

Based on recent stays in towns across Germany I'm pretty impressed with the standard of mid-priced hotels here. The Westin Bellevue is no exception; in fact it's a standout. We asked for a room on the river side of the hotel (thanks TripAdvisor), and although it was a standard room, it was extremely comfortable. While the bed was terrific, the national habit of using heavy weight duvets regardless of temperature is very strange, and doesn't encourage a sleep which should be easy--the room has air-con, the bed is fabulous, the room quiet and very clean. The drawback? The breakfast. Don't get me wrong, it was fine. But not to the high standard of hotels we've experienced in Berlin, Weimar, Hamburg, Quedlenberg and Leipzig. I wouldn't mention it if the price was appropriate, but at over 20 euros, it should have offered greater selection. Our thought was that the very reasonable tariff for the room is made up for with the cost of breakfast. Apart from that, the hotel is to be commended on the friendly and helpful staff, especially the lovely little cafe Poppelman with its terrific service and well-prepared food. And little touches like the water provided in the lobby add to the thoughtful way this hotel is run. This is our second visit to Dresden but our first at the Bellevue. Hopefully we can find an alternative for breakfast and our next stay there will be near perfect.
