The hostel is very well in general, it is clean and ordered, the most important thing is that staff care is very friendly and that the price is very cheap, the rooms are well and also offers a simple breakfast, the location is excellent, The only point against is that reception is not 24hs as they say

So, if someone is sick or having a fever, he/she can easily enter to stay I was given a room which smelled horribly of smoking smell and the walls were tainted with dirt and smudge. If i am forced to stay in this room, i would move out ! Luckily, they gave me a totally different room (clean and no ciggie smell) after I complained. The 'reassigned' room was clean and spacious but a bit devoured of furnishing. Lighting was dimmed for my taste There was a 40” TV on wall. However, I didn't check for channels Bed was comfy enough. I brought my own pillows Air con was bad as the small aircon (I am guessing it was a 1 HP unit) could bare cope with the size of the room Bathroom was a surprise. It has a built-in changing room and ironing table/iron. I liked the toilet and shower were separated as the shower water would not wet the WC area. Toiletries such as soap,. shampoo and shower gel were provided as in 2 pairs of clean bath towels. Water pressure and hot water were adequate for a good shower. There a 'rain-shower' if you like that The biggest minus was the lack of security as one can enter the 1st floor indoor parking without any security checking. To make matter worse, anyone can enter the rooms' floors from the parking bay Breakfast was simple affair with white rice with ikan masak lemak and cried koay-teow. Adequate for quickie hit and run. Generally, staff was reasonably friendly especially the breakfast crew and the sole male house-keeper though they hesitated making guests to wear face-masks when in the hotel premise Internet speed was very bad (less than 5 mbps) though reception signal was good in my room Good for a 1 nite stay. Female guest is to be wary 'lack of security' from car park to room

I was assigned a room at 4th floor. Since its at lower level of its 15 storey, I requested a room facing not facing the noisy main street. Good choice: view of a football filed, a mosque and part of the city. The room: The Hotel management probably believe that 1980s heyday decor is a selling point. Save for the flat screen telly, the rest still preserves its 80s setting: louvred wardrobe, bedside cabinet central console with rocker switches, blanket on top of sheets (not quilt), tiled (not marbled) bathroom floor, queen (not king) bed. They try to keep the cleanliness but the permanent stains on chairs, moulds around aircond vent, peeling furniture paint, mildew on bathroom wall are beyond the housekeeping department’s routine; the whole place needs serious makeover.

We had 3 rooms and all of them had stained sheets. I had to change rooms 3 times before getting one with proper working air conditioning. The bathroom is tiny and weirdly configured (imagine: the toilet bowl brushes against your legs when standing at the sink, shower door must be open when sitting on the toilet). The furniture is cheap and broken. Limited parking shared between this hotel and Seasons View so it's always full. Parking in front of the shop lots will require hourly coupons imposed by the council. The chime of the lift is so loud you can hear it from the room. For light sleepers like me, it is especially disturbing. The roller blinds is narrow with segmented design so there is light seepage from the sides and through if you don't align it properly. Only good thing was the front desk guy who checked us in. Very helpful and resolved the non-AC issue by letting us check out the 3 adjacent rooms (2 of which also blew hot air). Unfortunately, he was replaced by a night watchman who's kind but clueless manning the counter after 11pm. We asked about parking when we came back after dinner and he couldn't offer much help. Plenty of other options around.

The price of the room was reasonable given that it was during a Malaysian festive season as well as a long weekend break. Our room (suite) comes with a smaller room with an attached bathroom which is convenient for the four of us. Both rooms are equipped with standard amenities which is a plus point. The location of the hotel was tucked behind the main road so there was minimal noise level from the streets. The check-in and check-out process was hassle-free. In a nutshell, this hotel is well priced for a short stay in Kuantan.

For the price I paid, the location was the best thing about this hotel. It was across Kuantan City Mall and then East Coast Mall behind that. Some eating places near or around the hotel although some of these tend to open late in the morning. There's one shop that opens till midnight about 10m away. Check-in was prompt and efficient however I didnt like the room (Rm 213) I got: it was hot like an oven as it is facing the afternoon sun (it was the room behind the flagpoles on level 2). The aircon was set to 17 when I got inside (red flag) and it was just blowing warm air from the time I got in (around 1pm) and even at night (and you can hear the noise from the aircon). I was sweaty and couldnt sleep. There's no point complaining as it was almost midnight (thought the aircon will turn cooler as it was drizzling in the evening). Will I stay in this hotel again? If I get assigned to a better room - perhaps. Tip: Check the aircon setting right after you enter the room after check-in. If it is set to very low (like 17) and the room feels warm - request to change the room.

Good points - Clean room. Clean bathroom. Bed was comfy. Bedsheets was nice and clean. Bath towels were clean and fluffy. Plenty of lifts. Shower was hot. Breakfast buffet was expected for the price paid. Bad points - Room was small. Had a full length window facing another block of rooms. Unable to open the glass window. Aircon was not cold - woke up a few times feeling hot. Unable to control the aircon. Bath mat was not provided. Carpet in the corridor outside looks like it has not been vacuumed for months. Keycard was a bit difficult to work - had to keep swiping it to open the door.

The location is quite secluded among housing area (rumah kedai). Tapi, selamat je for parking. But, ade 4 ekor anjing keep menyalak around the area. 10mins to TC and 10-15 mins to viral eating places. Very clean, spacious for 4 people, still have space to pray, comfortable toilet and wardrobe size. Takde fridge but can use one at the hotel. Bawah hotel is chinese restaurant. Reception friendly. Iron, hairdryer, coffee table, toileteries already there.

Although a little on the pricey side per night rate, my fmly and I overall enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Colony. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and new looking this place was. Not run down at all despite having opened for about 5 years now I think. Very well maintained which made our stay very comfortable. We like how industrial and modern looking this whole place is. Water pressure in the bathroom was good, bed linen was clean, amenities were well replenished, swimming pool was rather small but clean and decent enough to keep the kids happy. One thing weird though was that we were given 2019 dated green tea sachet but it’s already 2022 now. Receptionist said it’s actually the date of manufacturing rather than the expiry date but we didn’t want to take the risk so we didn’t consume it. And the amount of soap and shampoo given were probably too little in small slim bottles. Bathroom was a little clogged after our shower. But everything else were fine and nice. I guess the sound proof was alright as there was no noisy disturbances from other rooms. So we had uninterrupted sleep. This guesthouse has two storeys with 8 rooms in total. 4 at the top and 4 at the bottom. All in all thumbs up and if given the chance and having to travel to Kuantan again we would be more than happy to be back here to stay.

Location is very strategic. Right on Jalan Besar where all the nice cafe is. (Kula Cake, Kuantan Pickers, Tjantek, Kopi & Teh, Akar Kopi, Lena Cafe, Sup Ayam Kampung) to name a few. River Esplanade is just right behind the hotel. Our room is facing the river, upon request. To my suprise for the price, the hotel is very clean. Tv has many channel including sport. A mini fridge & sejadah. I bet the hotel is recently refurbish as it has a nice new paint coating & flooring. And so does the bathroom. They even offer connecting room, which is good if you are travelling in group & to my suprise they have lift. Parking is easy & plenty, but by the counsil. So we paid around RM4.50 daily or RM0.65 per hour. Overall, if you are in Kuantan for Jalan Jalan Cari Makan. I truly recommend this hotel.

However, this hotel location is quite nearby to other new shopping complexes in Kuantan. The parking lot could use some upgrade though, as it was open space and the tarmac is not properly done.

The room is considered clean but it will be good if the ventilation du r at bathroom area can be cleaned more frequently it’s full of dust and might not function to its 100%. The room is quite small but considering the price paid perhaps it is still fair . Due to some business I had to find a hotel on the spot and the price for walk-in to this hotel is relevant and there's not too much differences from the promo online. I really enjoyed my 2 days and 1 night here. The room is very small so it might not really suitable if you want to bring your kids. But the room has such a nice deco. They have a large tv installed in the room, a fan, an aircond, iron board, iron, heater, hair dryer and sajjada. They arranged everything neatly so that everything could fit inside that room. The heater works well. The towel is quite old i guess cuz its quite rough. The lock for my toilet door is not working at that time but since I stay alone so it doesnt really matter. They have almost everything at their lobby. They sell junk foods, drinks and also other necessities. My wireless mouse was not working that night and I need to complete my work so I had to get out to buy batteries at 10pm. Luckily they sell it at the lobby so it really save me. The breakfast is quite mediocre, just OK. But its not bad. From the front hotel, you can see Berjaya Megamall and also KMC. If you are hungry, there's Ayam Penyet restaurant just across the road. There's also a lot of places nearby you can go to eat. Other than that, I dont have any noise issue while staying there. Lastly, the workers over there are so friendly. They use a polite tone and they also smile to the customer. There's one male staff who is very good in attending the customer. I literally ask the same question thrice and he still manage to answer with a smile. There's also no problem with parking, they'll provide you a coupon. I'm a girl and I think that place seems quite safe to stay alone. Thats all my review.

The room space is comfortable and quiet and impervious to external noise. Clean room complete with self cleaning facilities. Friendly and fast customer service. There are elevator facilities to suit older customers. Just my order to the trip visitor to upgrade the system with the hotel, during check -in the counter stated the room was full but the system had confirmed the payment. Had to negotiate with the counter to get another room And charged extra. Even at night, ATM operations are closed, making it difficult for customers. PLEASE EXPECT THE TRIP VISITOR TO TAKE NOTE.
