Location is really good. Shwedagon Pagoda is not far away. There is a convenience store near the hotel, and it's a resident area, so you can see street food and sell lots of fruits. If you walk a little, you'll find a big mart and a fast food restaurant. The room I stayed was really spacious and satisfied !! Especially good for three people. Three beds, two bathrooms, and an outside glass view.

Stay almost 2 weeks! First and Foremost Mr Aung Kyaw hotel General Manager who made us stay at my hotel yangon ! He is extremely nice and very well listener which is very important for that position! He take good care of his hotel guests and staffs . It was extremely unforgettable stay there because of Mr Aung Kyaw , Also all the staff are really humble and very well listen to guests without any negative attitude towards to others especially Restaurant Mr .Thiha and all F& B staffs and also HK team Ms Su and all who clean our room 501 with there lovely initiatives and front desk staff especially skinny and tall gentleman who ware glass , my apologies that I could not able to recall all the names. Also thanks to two security gentleman who always rent umbrella and really really thanks to General Manager Mr Aung Kyaw who made us to stay that hotel who is the one made hotel extra revenues Thanks very much Mr Aung Kyaw and all F& B staffs and FO staffs and Security team and also lovely HK team along Ms Su !!! This is our second visit together and yet again expectations were met. This is a unique family ran team, from housekeeping, restaurant service, through to reception staff and general staff. Every member well trained and focused on their responsibilities. Great food and service in the bistro, perfect execution of dishes and waiting staff incredibly well versed in their duties. Friendly good mornings, coffee delightful (get that extra shot). There's no need to look elsewhere this is a unique refreshing and homely place to stay. A special mention to the day reception staff for their impressive welcome and friendliness throughout our stay, thank you all.

Hotel isn’t very expensive because room rate starts at 55,000 only and rooms are fully equipped with amenities as well as a rooftop bar with 360 view of the city. Reception was friendly and offered to help with bags. But receptionists do get very overwhelmed with the huge amount of guests checking in. I was lucky that there were only three people checking in in front of me so the wait wasn’t that long. Breakfast was good for the price of the hotel even comes with pastry. Wish the hotel was less full during weekends and holidays as rooms are hard to come by then. Maybe the hotel should raise the rates.

Breakfast is OK, there are more types to choose from. Breakfast is the same as most hotels from 6:30 to 9:30. The room I stayed in could not have an extra bed. Suitable for children. The location of the hotel is very good, easy to find, very close to the Ruiguang Golden Pagoda. There is a small parking lot in the hotel. It is no problem to park five or six cars, but there are only one or two cars in normal times. The front desk service is especially good. If you go out to play more expensive, they will help you to call the taxi price will be more reasonable. When I left the store, I was in the morning flight. The breakfast at 6:30 allowed me to dine at six o'clock. The front desk service manager I have contacted many times is a man who has been a 13-year-old man. He is a good man, humble and courteous, and good at English. The only problem that arises is that the location of the hotel does not match the location indicated on the map. The position of the five-pointed star in the uploaded image is the location indicated by the route, while the small blue circle is the actual hotel location.

It was the best hotel in Yangon where I stayed. We arrived on 29 at 11am, the room was ready and they gave us the room. Our stay there was shorter than we expect, was not the best period to travel, so next day we had to move, we finally found a flight to go back to our country. Even if I paid for a day more, the staff refound us the amount. The rooms are really better thank the pics on Booking. Big rooms (not so usual to find in Yangon), clean and elegantly furnished. On the rooftop we found the wonderful pool, the perfect place to relax ourselves, and forget a little that we had non flight to go back home. There is also the restaurant, where during the morning you can take ur breakfast, lot of choise between salty and sweet. Here u can take also the lunch or the dinner, good prices and nice food. We want to thank the staff for all course our stay here was great, if we will come back to Yangon we definitely come back to your hotel.

Great hotel close to the airport and reasonably close to town. The hotel has shops/restaurants and easy access to both downtown and the airport. Stayed 1 night after arriving in Yangon. The hotel is very slick, well run and professional. Check in was easy and straightforward. The staff were helpful, friendly and informative. There is a bar and coffee shop serving Lavazza coffee and other guest services too. The room service menu is good and spa services are very reasonable too. The room was very clean and had a nice, modern over sized bathroom. Although breakfast starts at 6, the restaurant is functioning and fully operational by 5.45. I was leaving to catch an early flight and managed some breakfast before leaving. A big thank you to reception and the chefs/breakfast staff for being very organised. Overall a good stay in a decent hotel. Would recommend.

My family was in Wyndham to celebrate our son’s first birthday. We asked the staff to help us with the decorations if possible and they did help us with all the decorations as much as they could. Shortly after, the hotel staff ran the door bell and surprised my family with a complimentary cake for our son. The 4 staff who came to surprise us Yee Mon Kyaw, May, Phillis,Myint Myint, my family would like to sincerely thank you all for your effort and kindness. Staff were friendly and helped us a lot. We mentioned when we booked the room that we were going for our honeymoon. The hotel immediately upgraded our room, upgraded our standard room without windows to a luxurious balcony room, and the view of the Ruiguang Shwedagon Pagoda from the balcony. They even prepared roses in bed and bathroom. Another thing that surprised me was that when we finished the view and returned to the room, we found the hotel sent us a beautiful cake and a postcard full of blessings. I was very impressed by their care and service to customers. In addition, the breakfast buffet they offer is very rich and delicious.

This is a huge hotel at the central of Yangon, with nearby shopping mall which is very convenience for traveller who need to do some shopping, it also has many food selection in the mall. There is a new wing, but I stayed at the old wing, and you can feel the hotel is old, however it is very well maintain, and clean. This was my 6th visit to Yangon, but my first stay at the Golden Butterfly. The hotel was chosen for its close proximity to the Shwedegon, our only reason for this visit. The hotel is ageing, aren't we all, but it still maintains some of its old grandeur with its beautiful entrance displaying timber craftsmanship of days gone by. The reception was managed professionally in a friendly welcoming manner. The room allocated was airy and clean, with a very large bed, TV and room safe. The bathroom was of normal size,clean and well maintained however the old style shower bath configuration may be difficult for the aged or those with hip and back problems as the bath stands approximately 50 cm high. We were only at the hotel for three days/two nights and as stated earlier our sole purpose this visit was to see the Shwedegon. During OUR stay the staff were friendly and helpful, arranged taxis for us and provided us with guidance as to shopping. The restaurant staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, providing me with a large mug for my breakfast tea rather than the usual 'thimble' size cups. The pool area was clean and a nice place to finish one's evening with a cold beer and a glass of wine. Overall this is a low to medium priced hotel ideally situated for a visit to the Shwedegon. Recommended though older or infirm guests should check out the bathroom configuration before booking.

As an international student in Myanmar, I recently spent a week at Hotel Scion Yangon and had a fantastic time. The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, which made my arrival and departure very easy, and their pick-up and drop-off services greatly helped this. The staff was friendly and they were always willing to help with any questions or requests. I particularly appreciated the high-speed internet, which allowed me to stay connected with my work and friends back in Australia. The rooms were also clean and had a nice comfortable beds, which were all very well equipped with all the necessary amenities. Additionally, I appreciated the fact that the hotel has a lot of plugs available for multiple devices, which made it easy to charge all of my electronics. Finally, the rooftop bar was my favorite which offered fantastic views of the pagodas around the hotel and is a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day of exploring. Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Scion Yangon to any international students visiting Myanmar.

The lobby is just as good as the rooms. The layout is similar to that of Vienna in China, but there are no office desks. The price/performance ratio is more expensive than in China. As of March 2022 This hotel is being used as a quarantine facility for overseas arrivals. The hotel site is the largest among hotels along a lake in Yangon City, and it is good for guests to take a cool walk in the morning/evening except for quarantined people. It has the lowest cost of accommodation among hotels along the lake, but since it is an old hotel, you can feel the signs of time, but it is not to the extent that you feel uncomfortable during your stay. The quality of breakfast/swimming pool/gym is not at the very high level of a luxury hotel, but considering the daily lodging cost of the hotel, it can be seen as good value for money. Amenity is offering an Australian brand called METIS. There is a bathtub in each room, so you can take a bath in the bathtub, but it is not recommended because Yangon's water quality is not good, but it is better to take a shower. If you want to relieve fatigue in the bathtub, it is better to prepare in advance so that you can cover the bad bathroom with a bath agent.
