If you want to be right in the centre of Neuchatel and on the lake, this is a great hotel. It's a 10 minute walk downhill from the station, or a quick bus ride, and the bus stops opposite the hotel. The town centre is a couple of minutes stroll away and there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops in walking distance. The walk along the lake is lovely, even on a foggy day! The view of the alps is wonderful on a clear day. Reception staff are friendly and helpful and, like most Swiss, speak several languages. Small criticisms are that the bathrooms need updating - I haven't seen a shower curtain in a while and don't like them! The breakfast is charged separately at approx 15 francs and is ok but not great. The coffee is from a machine, and not all options were working. It wasn't particularly good or strong as the espresso option wasn't working. There isn't a bar or restaurant, apart from the breakfast room. The bedrooms are warm and comfortable and the blackout curtains make it lovely and dark and the double glazing kept noise to a minimum, even rush hour traffic wasn't noticeable. A huge bonus (in very expensive Switzerland) is that the hotel give you a free travel pass which can be used across the whole canton of Neuchatel and also for free entry to various museums and galleries. This is great and we used ours on the buses several times. We were only there a few days and couldn't make full use of all the benefits on offer.

You cannot find a more central location in Neuchatel. I stayed for two nights in Medieval room. It got a real old-time fresco on the wall - blew my mind! The building itself clearly harkens back to the olden days (I felt like staying in a museum) but it is in a perfect condition, with all amenities present. You will have to drag your suitcases up a fairly wide spiral staircase (there was no such thing as Medieval elevators), but it is a small price to pay for the experience.

The apartment is very nice, comfortable and clean. The location is superb, just in the centre of Neuchâtel, surrounded by restaurants, shoppings and turist attractions, yet very quiet and silent. I strongly recommend the Samuel the Marval apartment and I would certainly book this place again.

One night leisure stay during a weekend in Neuchatel. We had real issues prior to arrival with this hotel though, in fairness, the hotel was actually alot better than expected. Good points - location- excellent- on the lake, just a few minutes walk from the old town, several bus stops, the Bridge of the Passerelle, the harbour... - staff- mostly great. Elodie and Yhasmin (reception), and Laurent (Bar manager)- are absolute professionals, at the top of their game. The care displayed whilst maintaining medicines for us was really appreciated. - rooms- spacious and clean. - views- excellent. see the attached pic. In this sense, the hotel was very modest as it stated this room was just a "partial lake view"! - terrace bar- large selection of wine. A lovely place to just chill and watch the world go by. Not so good points- - 'Bid your price' system when booking a stay- the discounts offered are, ultimately, incredibly small and disappointing. Get rid of this system- it wastes the time of potential hotel guests. The prices offered on the hotel website can easily be beaten by looking online, despite the 'best price guarantee' stated. - Value- even in comparison to other 5-stars hotel in Switzerland, this place has high prices. - One member of reception staff- obviously needs more training. She did not know where local sights of interest were located. She also failed to take ownership of issues, e.g. when we had an issue with the bar, she refused to do anything stating, "I do not work for the hotel restaurant". - Room refurb badly needed- wooden furniture in our room looked dated and was obviously worn. Also, the bathroom needed a good clean as, for example, there were large brown stains on white bathroom tiles. - Communication- nearly every email or call made took atelast one day to get a response, often the hotel had to be chased for a reply. - Covid 19- even when asked specifically about their COVID safety measures, the answer given was very vague and nebulous. Not comforting or re-assuring.

My husband and I arrived with our two young children and received a warm welcome from the hotel proprietor. His personal touch made our stay just lovely. He even recommended restaurants close by where we could have a nice dinner out and enjoy the town. Staff was friendly and the room was very clean and modern. To top it all off, the proprietor send a terrific wine to our room after learning we were celebrating a birthday. Thanks for a wonderful stay in Neuchatel that we will remember for a lifetime!

The location, amazing, could not have been better. The room beautiful, outstanding! Now, the service.....some minor things, phones not answered, wrong orders delivered, etc. but no biggie. The three biggies: 1. Arrived 2:05 pm, room not ready until 4:00 pm (fine) asked if we could still have brunch (a Sunday) told no it stops at 2:00 pm (the restaurant was still pretty full and all the buffet was still out) 2. Wi-fi...arghh! Spent 90 mins day one trying to get on, said password invalid or too many devices (at this point none). Finally went to reception, got one (of four) devices on. After that, intermittent, would kick us out (again too many devices). Ended up we had two out of four devices intermittent throughout the three nights. 3. Dinner in restaurant. Hum, ignored us for 20 mins, then Maitre’ D brought us menus in German and realised we were British so said he would be back. Twenty minutes later we asked a waiter as still no menus. He must have told Maitre’d as he then came back and gave menus-no recognition or apology of overlooking us. No vegetarian options for main on menu (but they did offer to make a risotto or roasted vegetables), Credit to our waiter who did really try to make up for things and was very pleasant.

This quiet hotel is ideally situated for an overnight stop when travelling on the A5 as it is right alongside the motorway, but is not suitable for those without their own transport as the nearest railway station is 2km away down a country road, half of which does not have a pavement, and busses to the stop 200m away are infrequent and do not run after 6.30 p.m. or at all on Sundays. The staff are efficient, friendly, and cheerfully helpful, but their knowledge of English appears to be very limited, their language of choice being French. Those of you who have used Premier Inns will know the sort of thing to expect - an en suite room with a king-size double bed, space to hang your clothes, a settee, chair and table. The TV is slightly smaller than PI ones and there are no tea-making facilities. However, the bar on the ground floor is open 24/7. As far as I am aware there is no lift to the upper floor. The continental style breakfast is taken in the light and airy dining room adjoining the bar, but there is no cooked food, although facilities exist to boil eggs or bake waffles. The hotel literature says that a very limited range of hot snacks are available 24/7, but I did not verify this. There is a computer available to guests provided they understand French. All in all this is a quite suitable hotel for an overnight stop when in the Neuchatel area.

Fleurs De Zermatt is a very nice hotel with very high tech and mountain motiff rooms. Plenty of storage and lighting was motion activated. Great bathrooms with heated floor and large bathtub. Bath robes too...comfy beds and wonderful buffet breakfast each day. This hotel is very quiet and close to train station - but far enough away so it was very quiet...staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is CLEAN! No drinks or food except water and an espresso maker in the room. We liked that unique rule, the rooms are very clean and finishes very nice. Hotel not over crowded, perfect for couples...not a lot of kids which was very nice. Booked through our great travel agent, Vapiano Travel...check them out.

The overall quality of Swiss hotels is really high, with details in place everywhere. The same is true of this hotel. The handsome guy at the front desk is really super enthusiastic. He will say hello every time he meets, and explain how to play the Matterhorn route when he checks in. The breakfast husband said that it was the fullest day in Europe. There are boiled eggs and fried eggs. Fried eggs are not salty and rare, and there are small cakes. This salmon is super fresh and has a lot of fruit. The best thing is that the juice is freshly squeezed, squeezed by yourself, and there is a special machine for pressing fruits. The room was clean, the bed was large and comfortable. The balcony is also nice and you can see the street view. By the way, there are minibars in the room, all of them are free. This is awesome. There are beer and various drinks in it. Seems like 6 bottles. The coffee in the coffee machine is also very good, but I didn't drink it. The hotel has a free mini bus, the front desk said it would take us, but it was useless and I wanted to go around by myself. Very pleasant stay, recommend everyone. The price is not cheap or expensive, around 1500 a night.

Had to transfer unexpectedly from Sunstar Saas Fee to Zermatt. While I am grateful for the transfer they arranged, I must say there seems to be big differences between Sunstar properties. The location in Zermatt is very convenient. Short walk to town or to Sunnega lift station, and there’s a bus stop just outside the ski room to get to the Matterhorn lifts. The ski room is fine but does not have individual storage for guests. The restaurant was only open for breakfast. The buffet was fine, though a notch down from the one in Saas Fee in terms of offering. I did find the room quite small and rather interesting configuration. Obviously, the sight in Zermatt is Matterhorn. The bed is arranged so you get a direct view of the Matterhorn. This results in decent amount of “dead space” in the room that is small to begin with. The shower and the sink are in the room, so if you are used to having bathroom privacy… In my friends’ room the toilet was right behind the headboard of the bed. Apparently not lot of noise insulation. I would note I woke up both mornings earlier than planned when the next-door room turned on the shower. As a single traveler the room was fine for few nights. I would think that two people with all the ski gear it may start feeling quite tight. I have stayed at numerous other four-star properties in Zermatt over the years. I just don’t think Sunstar measures up.

We just came back from our first Switzerland ski trip. This hotel is centrally situated on the bus route. A 5-min walk to bus if you want to go to Matterhorn side, and 10-15 min walk to the cog rail/lift if you want ski Rothorn. Also it is a 5-10 min walk to the center of the village and the train station. We love the location because it is close to everything but quiet at night. Rooms are clean and new. Breakfast buffet is awesome! You have to try the restaurant in the first floor. Their “flame” cooking in front of you is really a cool experience. They have a lot of chocolate for their guests as well - decent Swiss chocolate! The wellness center which has jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna which is a must-go after a long day ski. If we ever go back to Zermatt, we will definitely stay at this hotel again. We left our luggage at the hotel on the day of leaving, and my husband was still skiing one hour before the train departed. That sounded crazy but the ski rental store (Matterhorn Sports) right across the hotel was so efficient and made this happen.

Hotel is very conveniently located, just about 150 meters from the Zermatt train station, and the Gornegrat station. It is right on the main street, close to ***y shops and restaurants. Coop supermarket is available in the mall opposite the train station. Room size is not large, but adequate, and beds are quite comfortable. Amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste and water flask are not provided, but slippers and mineral waters are available. Restaurant at the ground floor is quite well decorated. Breakfast has adequate varieties, but should not expect the same as the hotels in mainland China. Special compliment to a the elderly gentlemen at the reception, who was very kind and friendly during the stay, and personally led me to find the Chinese restaurant just nearby, and even show the way to taking the Glacier Express train.

The family room we stayed in was very good. We could also cook, have more balconies, and enjoy the cool and scenic view. The hotel is very close to the train station, but the location is very quiet, there is a supermarket diagonally opposite, shopping is convenient. The owner of the hotel is warm and generous. There is a large bowl of apples at the front desk. Guests can take it at will and watch our 4 adults bring a baby. They are afraid of being squeezed and send us a room for free. The hotel’s own thermal pool and sauna are also great, and the pool is also a bubble bath.

Great location, room was clean with a very small bathroom (standard double, view of main street and a bit of mountain), staff was super friendly, and breakfast selection was REALLY good with an assortment of meat, cheese, champagne, there's juicer if you want to make some fresh juices, and they take orders for eggs and coffee. The only complain I have is the wifi. At $541 CHF for 2 nights, I expected their wifi to be at least usable for basic browsing when I have some down time at night. It was disappointingly slow. To the point where I ended up using hotspot from my phone so I can browse on my laptop. I did point this out to the staff after my first night and I was told they will look into it to make sure there's no issue. The wifi was still an issue on my second night. I believe it's an issue with signal reaching? I was in room 311 if I remember correctly. It was not a huge issue for me as I was only there for 2 nights. However, at a premium rate they should look into upgrading their wifi.

The best location I found after staying. 20 meters to the Japanese Bridge. From the Japanese bridge, you can aim for the best shot of the Matterhorn. The hotel is right in front of the cemetery, but there is no darkness in the cemetery. The church, Kirchplatz and the Marmot fountain are also nearby. In the square, the horn performance starts at 6pm. I also encountered a procession of goats. It is about 10 minutes on foot from the station. Opposite the diagonal is the Zermatterhof, a 5-star hotel, and there is a two-carriage transfer to the station. The transfer here is 5 euros per person, but it is not necessary if the luggage is not too big. The inn is very clean with bedding. I was able to sleep well. The breakfast is also gorgeous and delicious. The staff are friendly and will hear your request.
