I must not forget to mention Diky who was so helpful. The rooms are immaculate. If you want a frig and kettle reserve a deluxe room. Located right in the thick of the action u will not go wrong here.

Everything from furniture to decorations were something to examine and admire. We enjoyed just wandering around the hotel grounds and hallways looking at artifacts and doors. The rooms are huge, clean, and comfortable with modern amenities. The restaurant was very good and the staff great. Very friendly! We even met the owner of the hotel. The location is great. We had our meals looking out onto the sea and just outside of the hotel was shopping and exploring in Jew Town. Great place to stay and I highly recommend it!

Entering Eight Bastion transported you to a different world, so calm and peaceful, so different from the bustles of Fort Kochi. Our room was spacious and decorated to celebrate the birthday. Our balcony faced ”Thakur House”, build on one of the 7 Bastions of the old Dutch fort and was an amazing place to sit and watch the world go by. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, the food delicious. The pool was lovely, my daughter and I spent the morning splashing in it. We could truly relax and not think of the outside world. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant and the food was very nice. The staff helped us out whenever we needed anything. We cannot wait to come back here again. It made our Fort Kochi experience very memorable. We definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a different experience of sitting back and being in the moment.

|4.89km from city centerThe property is very interesting and certainly gives you a sense of history. Its well located. On the whole I found the amenities fairly basic and a bit neglected. The towels were worn out and the carpet in one of my rooms was stained. During the time I was there, renovations were taking place on the ground floor so they moved me to a room on the first floor, there a sofa was being reupholstered. During the day there was quite a lot of hammering which was not pleasant. I was in two different rooms during my stay. The room 'moens' overlooks the street, so if you open the curtains its a bit of an issue in terms of privacy and in general there is a fair amount of noise. Other than that its a nice room. One of the bigger rooms 'mateu' feels half done in terms of the interiors and there is a vast amount of empty space in the room which is not great as an experience. There is also a sky light which you cannot cover even in the night, which was really annoying as there was light in the room from the common area through the night.

You may not get very hot water; Only lukewarm water because of solar heating system. Location - 4/5. Easy access to Metro, Cab and Auto. Breakfast - We didn't include that in our package. Plenty of options available nearby. Staff : 5/5. Always attentive and supportive. We will surely comeback.

|5.54km from city centerI stayed at Abad Hotels when on a recent holiday in Kerala. They were all top-notch & the Abad Plaza was the first. I was here the first night of my tour & found it clean, very comfortable, & efficiently run. The staff spoke good English & were very welcoming; nothing was too much trouble. As well as standard amenities (complimentary toiletries etc), there was even a bowl of lovely fresh flowers in my room! Because I was leaving before the breakfast room opened in the morning, they went to the trouble to prepare a fresh & tasty meal for me to 'take-away'. The only problem I had was the smell of cigarette smoke on my floor & in my room. Unfortunately, despite very conspicuous No Smoking signs throughout the hotel, some patrons persist in breaking the rules anyway & make it bad for everyone else. But the air-con in my room cleared that problem up quickly, so all was good. I highly recommend this chain of hotels; I'd definitely stay here again.

Clean and soothing you wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Again the staff at reception and housekeeping are thoroughly helpful and always with a smile. Now Nihara stands apart from other places just for the food. The lunch spread with authentic local cuisine is everything you want and more. Again the place is very near Cochin city and conveyance is in abundance.

|2.93km from city centerReally large hard pillows unable to sleep, despite getting them changed. The room was nice, large, but was on the front of the hotel and there was a lot of outside noise. There was a lot of fuss about the art in the hotel which felt unnecessary and pretentious especially when the basics have to be right so that the paying customer is comfortable. The staff were excellent is not a little overbearing lurking all the time. overall I felt a little claustrophobic. The outside space is small and the pool was tiny with 2 sunbeds in the shade overlooking the kitchen. no where to really relax and unwind and nothing to look at just an enclosed courtyard. It is a glorified guesthouse and definitely not worth the high prices we paid. Try the ginger house opposite nice outdoor space overlooking the water.

We had dinner in their 2nd floor restaurant and we had called our local relatives too. Food was mamageable but nothing great. We didn't go for the buffet spread as we didn't like the options. The place has no liquor permit. The inclsuive breeafast was just about ok. The service was poor. I ordered omlette a couple of times and it was never served. The staff was reasonably friednly and the friedliest one was the door ***. The palce has nice parkign facility underground.

It still has it's clientele, lots of banquets for training, etc. I feel the quality of staff training is lacking. Most of the staff barring a few aren't cordial, feel highly stressed and their way of talking is a concern. I had a very bad experience on the phone requesting housekeeping, room service, and front office, they were all harsh on the phone and give very unpleasant replies. The ***agement needs to address this and proper communication training should be imparted. It's very positive to note that the bar downstairs had very cordial staff and the fish offered was brilliant. The hotel morning breakfast isn't anything different very ordinary. Though they had placed a special Karameen preparation by the chef turned out to be very ordinary, had to return the dish and asked for a different local preparation. I feel this hotel today's gets lots of co-operating programs hence have forgotten the need for a good hospitality approach. Kerala is a tourist destination and all in hospitality should live up to the customer's expectation. Today the customer looks forward to extraordinary service. I wish my next visit if any will be positive.

Although I paid a higher price, to get a more comfort. it was a super small room without storage possibilities. the bathroom does not get cleaned, I saw it with my own eyes when checking out. hair in the drain, toothpaste traces, dirty bathroom walls. cups are dirty etc. no breakfast although breakfast is mentioned in the description, but then not in the equipment 😉. actually everything that is mentioned in the description is not true. you think the neighbors are standing in the bathroom it's so badly soundprooft, the bedding was dirty etc. I left after a night and had to pay half the price of 5 days. the owner was quite nice band helpfull, the only good thing

As a solo leisure traveller the hotel was not for me, in terms of sightseeing etc with everything futher away. Breakfast and dinner selection was somewhat limited but nice food. Prakash the waiter served with care and efficiency. At the Spa on one of the nights there was no one there at the reception to take queries as the one and only therapist was engaged with an appointment! So what does one do wait for hours to be atteneded to? As a sign suggested i left a message for a call back for an appointment, but got none.

|4.45km from city centeri really enjoyed my stay it was very comfortable. and they have everything you need. lockers. towels for rent. can refill water bottles or buy new one. they have laundry washer. they have ***y activities they can take you on and a rooftop to chill. we were taken to the beach and it was great swimming to cool off for a few hours. they guys that work here are fantastic! they will take care of you! i went to visit a friends place so i didn’t come back for th night and they were messaging me checking if i’m okay. they are very thoughtful of all their guests.

On the one hand, it is absolutely charming - the design of the hotel, the rooms, the courtyard - all this touches and immerses you in an atmosphere of rest and relaxation.
On the other hand, there are a lot of disadvantages that can outweigh the advantages.
For example, the rooms are very cold even when the air conditioner is off. And in general, air conditioners are constantly working everywhere, so I did not get out of a warm sweater with a hood.
Didn't like the food. I understand that this is India, but usually large hotels also have a European menu. Here, too, there were options, but either peppered and spicy anyway, or a la fast food (pizza and burgers). In general, if you are a gastritis, an ulcer, or for some other reason are limited in nutrition, then you will have a very difficult time.
The staff is very arrogant (not all of course, but the general mass), there is always a feeling that you owe them something.
Well, the last little remark, speaking about the attitude and sensitivity of the staff: we arrived on my husband's birthday and did not even hear the banal ”happy birthday” at the check-in. First time like this. Usually they will at least verbally congratulate, as a maximum they will treat you with cakes)

|3.37km from city centerWe stayed for 2 nights at the property. I was travelling with my parents, wife and 1.5 year old kid. Staff was extremely cooperative and kid friendly. They helped us by making baby food whenever we needed and were very prompt in their room service. Hotel location is also good. It’s almost equidistant from fort Kochi and ernakulum. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone travelling with their family. The buffet spread was very lavish, having varied dishes across the globe with traditional Kerala food. The taste was just perfect and breads were made to your wish and liking. The hotel staff was very co-operative and made us feel comfortable every minute of the trip. Service speed was awesome, you order and the bell rings within 15 mins. Overall, an amazing stay and recommend for all.

|5.89km from city centerSecond time staying here, and found it to be a huge mistake. The property is beautiful but sadly is in need of a lot of maintenance and upkeep. Stray dogs roam in and out of the property freely, and the staff is indifferent. The Marina annexe has great views but that’s where it ends. It is perpetually in darkness, and I was the one switching the lights on every evening on both the first and second floors. The rooms are musty and worn out, and the bathroom had the wet cloth smell throughout our stay. The so called entry/lobby of the Marina building is badly maintained, furniture is left askance, no staff, reminds me of college hostels in remote villages. The service room is left open all the time and we get a lovely glimpse of all the mattresses and sheets strewn about on the floor ***** with sundry bits of trash. The beautiful Dutch bungalow is dirty, smelly and the previous events leftovers, dishes, juice boxes and remains lay spread all over the veranda of what is supposed to be a heritage building. Breakfast service was appalling. There weren’t enough chairs inside so we were collecting chairs from outside and bringing them in, while the hotel staff person stood there silently watching us. When we suggested to him that they could help us at least with organising chairs, he said the hotel staff is less 😱. No plates, food was less, we didn’t even bother placing any orders for eggs as it didn’t look like anyone was interested in taking them or whether there would be any hope of seeing our orders. Staff is polite but appears to be mainly focused on attending to politicians or govt guests. Ironic and sad that paying guests are left to attend to themselves, while public servants get waited on like royalty.

The rooms are equipped with smart device with which we can operate all electrical systems from our bedside. Things that can be improved: The wifi security protocol is outdated, hence not acceptable. And ***y new machines wont allow to connect with it due to security reasons. They should update Wifi security protocol. The breakfast timing is too short. It should be extended at-least upto 10 30 am. Thats the standard practice on most hotels.

Kerala is the first place we visited and I was incredibly impressed with how clean, safe and comfy the homestay was. It is in the perfect location, very short walking distance to Princess street. The hosts are incredibly friendly, they helped me with my washing and also made us two delicious homemade breakfasts. The air conditioning worked really well and there is also a fan. Will recommend this place to any traveller and I would definitely stay here again.

From the minute you arrive, the reception staff ..Sandra, Naveen and others were a delight.. organised, efficient and very welcoming , offering helpful information about the surrounding area and what to visit. Advising you the hotel does afternoon tea on the terrace and a cookery lesson with the chef -all complimentary .. Believe me worth the visit. Nothing was too much trouble. Which leads me to the roof top restaurant., not only was the menu mouth watering with choice but even more delicious when the food arrived .. the chefs here are trained to a very high standard and monitored by the Head Chef. The roof terrace itself lovely by day with colourful plants but by night it is transformed by lights and is very ro***tic and magical. The hotel is spotlessly clean , they provide purified water in your room daily and facilities for tea and coffee are also included. The location is central and leaving the hotel in any direction leads you to the sights. Outside the hotel is daunting at first and a bit ***ic .. but it’s India .. it’s colourful and noisy but the people of Kerala are delightful, sweet and are not pushy .. I was so impressed by this hotel I returned for a further 3 days at the end of my stay and the 2nd impression was even better than the first .. you will not be disappointed if you book this hotel

The comfort in the room, the yummy, nutritious, authentic Kerala food, the very helpful and enterprising Mr. Andrew, the peace and quiet, the view from the balcony, the cool breeze in the face! The food was simply beyond tasty, at very reasonable prices - there is something for all tastebuds! We visited during COVID-19 times and all precautions were taken. We happened to celebrate a birthday there, of which the whole staff became a part and it just doubled our joy to be sharing the special occasion with them. Mr. Andrew was beyond helpful - he was even kind enough to lend us his motorcycle to visit a nearby temple since it was a birthday. The room was clean and what we really loved the most is the master console next to the bed with all controls at one place - no getting up to find buttons to turn on lights, stumbling in the dark - you can turn on the bathroom light right next to you and then find your way safely in the middle of the night. You could even turn on Do Not Disturb sign and control the AC and fan from there. Thoughtful convenience! The balcony was to die for - we spent most of our time in the balcony, whether it was chatting away or eating breakfast or lunch (not dinner because there were mosquitoes in the evenings :P) or sipping tea/ coffee, or just soaking in the morning sunshine with breeze in our hair. Truly rejuvenating. They have a swimming pool and a spa as well which looked very inviting indeed, but was off limits due to Covid-19. Next time! ;) There is a basketball court and the hotel lends badminton/ table tennis equipment too. Watching the sunset standing on the bridge over the water, is beautiful. All in all, we had an amazing time. Best hotel experience ever - and I've stayed in quite a few, so that is saying something! ;) You will not regret it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. PS: Do NOT miss trying the Puttu, Vegetable stew and Butter chicken!

It's great strengths are the extremely helpful and friendly staff who will help you in every way they can and go the extra mile to make sure your stay is enjoyable. It's also in a quiet tucked away lane just behind the hustle of the main road. The staff will organise a tuc tuc from the hotel if you'd like to take a tuc tuc tour of Fort Kochi that's a fair price or you can walk from there safely a few minutes into the historic lanes of Fort Kochi . At the end of the lane is one of the Kathakali theatres of Kochi, which is unmissable. From it's roof terrace the view over Fort Kochi is marvellous as you're eating your breakfast or enjoying the beautifully kept rooftop pool. Rooms are comfortable but not luxurious. There's everything you need in them with good showers and comfortable beds. Great value for money and only a few minutes walk to the harbour, and restaurants. Highly recommended again!
