The quiet peaceful surroundings of Mt. Aso's Kuju National Park provide a green backdrop for this ryokan. In addition to the standard spring baths, Houjyuya's main open-air bath allows mixed male and female bathing. Guests dine on traditional kaiseki dinners in their rooms. Many outdoor activities like skiing are also available near the hotel.

Not a luxury place as expected when we booked. Staff were very helpful and food was above our expectation (a lot to eat). Beddings were very comfortable. Room was a bit wear out. The best was the public onsen, one super big indoor and one outdoor on the second level. There was a water jet shower next to the onsen. Beware the private family onsen is not free. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

I was taken care of by a 40-year-old couple and two elementary school students (girls). Is it about 30 〜 40 minutes from kuju interchange? The surroundings are full of atmosphere of Mt. ASO and Yufu Dake. There is an entrance on the way to the slope and there is a car in the mother shop. There are about 12 parking lots. Maybe there are other parking lots. There is a place where you can enjoy front desk, dining, coffee, etc., and the room to stay is down the stairs from the mother shop, and when you go down the slope, there is a flat house building. The room is luxurious and relaxing than the appearance. The surroundings of the building are naturally rich! Rather, there is a building in the forest! If the bedroom is a 4-person room, the bed is comfortable with 2 pets and 2 futons in the Japanese room! Wi-Fi is perfect. The bath is very beautiful and has a jet bus. I think it is a finger-pointing inner bath in Yufuin and Kurokawa Onsen. The open-air bath is 2 people slowly. It feels okay even for 4 people. At night, there is a fire and a tree light up. The atmosphere is good! The reason why the star is not five is that if the insect is extremely hard, the summer may be severe. And, if you are inconvenient, you can move in the facility by cart, but the bath and the open-air bath are not completely corresponding. However, if you can assist, you can clear it. What should be noted in the amenities is that towels such as bath towels are great! I want water supply at home! The meal is taken by the time system to take the distance between customers at the mother shop, and there is a sense of security! The seasoning may be a little thin in the 20s and 30s. I am satisfied now that I am in my 40s! It was a menu that can enjoy the taste of the material. The elementary school student's dishes are a great word! This is the first time for children's Japanese food made so neat! You can feel Japanese food properly! The child itself may be good for hamburgers and shrimp fries, but I think it is necessary to have a chance to get Japanese food properly, so it was the best for my house. I think hospitality is 9 in 10 stages. I think it's great. This site is 5 stage evaluation, but I think 4.3 is. On the day I stayed, the neighboring city was not very hot springs in midsummer days of 36 degrees, but it is cool because it exceeds 1000 meters above sea level. I put it slowly in the open-air bath at 5 in the evening! Midsummer hot springs are decided here!
