There are no ironing facilities in the room, which is a bit inconsistent with five stars. It should be noted that this hotel charges a city tax, but it is not included in the room rate booked by Ctrip. I was overcharged by 10 euros, only to find out later that it was the tax. Most other cities in Turkey do not have this tax.

The hotel is created out of a beautiful 200-year old house with a relaxing garden in a central but quiet position in the lovely city of Konya. The rooms are large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is very generous and has a wide range of local produce including the delicious mouldy cheese which is a speciality of the area. The owner, Momed, is incredibly kind and helpful and very knowledgeable about the city. He arranged for his brother, Mehmet, to take us to Catalhoyuk at a very reasonable price and we discovered lots about their upbringing in the Tarsus Mountains. Mehmet is also a well-known local kilim dealer and produces kilims to traditional designs using natural dyes and local weavers. The brothers are both honest and trustworthy and they charge reasonable prices for the services and rugs that they offer. The real beauty of staying at the Konya Dervish Hotel is that you get to meet the owners who can answer all your questions about Turkey and tell you about their life - which is, after all, the real reason for travelling. You couldn't wish for kinder and more generous hosts than the owners of this hotel. If you are interested in buying a kilim, do read the story in the hotel's pamphlet about the very special rugs that they produced for a castle in Scotland - it will reassure you that you are dealing with one of the most reputable dealers in Turkey. Konya is a lovely city with some great sights and the Dervish Hotel is the best hotel in the city at a very reasonable rice.

Ambiance/Facilities - the ambience is very calm, near the tramvay station, not too crowded. taxi is available as well, just ask the receptionist if you need it and they will call it for you
Highlights - the hotel is clean, the room is very spacious complete with an office, 2 TVs, the bed is round and unique. However you may need to bring your own shampoo and conditioner as they only provided shower gel in the bathroom.
The breakfast is okay, typical turkish breakfast with bread, veggies, loads of cheese options, tea and coffee.
Avg. Price per Person - 70€ per night

The rooms are clean, well kept, spacious with all amenities one requires. The rooms have both heating and cooling options available. The breakfast was authentic Turkish and served in a restaurant with ample space and attention to hygiene. I spent 5 nights with family and became a fan of the place primarily because of the hospitality extended by the hotel manager Abdurrahim Dundar. An elegant person who is knowledgeable about history, culture, and speaks fluent English. He helped us book our taxi for the return trip to airport as well. The kids loved it so much that they didn’t want to leave after the kind of hospitality and care they experienced. In essence, we found another home away from home. Thank you Abdurrahim and Bera team!

The hotel director, Madame Menekşe, has really welcomed us as private guests. We had a very comfortable accommodation in our hot rooms in the hotel we arrived after long hours of work in the cold of the stadium in the ice-like air, and the price was very convenient. Rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained, with a mini fridge and kettle available. Also has a lounge on top floor which is great to relax in and order snacks or food. The WiFi is free but the speed is not the fastest, although does the job. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Overall, had a great stay and would stay again if visited Konya in future.

Even thought the room & bathroom are small it was very comfortable & exceptionally clean. We slept very well despite the mosques so close. The breakfast had everything you want & a lot of choice. I would highly recommend this hotel it's near to all the sights. The people in Konya were very friendly we loved our overnight stay. The Mevlana Show is on Saturday evening at 7pm - it was amazing. |1.76km from city centerI very much enjoyed my three-night stay at the stylish and colourful Hotel Think, which is located very close to the Mevlana Museum, the main sight in the city. The double bed in my room was most comfortable and the sound-proofing of the room was fine, which was just as well, as the road outside is a busy one. I liked the walk-in shower in the en suite bathroom, where hot water was available at all times. I had breakfast at the hotel every morning and also ate at the ground floor Safran Restaurant and at the fifth floor café. The quality of food served is very good: definitely above par for a hotel restaurant. I really liked the buffet breakfast, with plenty of fresh fruit available. It takes around ten minutes to walk from the hotel to the Alaaddin Park in the city centre. Just one suggestion. There was not enough storage space in the room. Either shelves or a chest of drawers could easily be installed under the table fitted to the wall, as there is plenty of space available there.

I choose non-smoking room, but it was clearly that the room smelled plenty of smoke. Had to sleep with open window. Breakfast was not the best experience. Had dinner at the hotel, it was good. Overall it was ok, but don’t understand the 5star on booking.com.
