Spent a great 3 days in Galway and staying at the Residence made the trip. The staff are the greatest asset to this hotel. From Chris and Aoife at reception, Ethan and Philip behind the bar and Rory on the door all managed fantastically by Chris & Julie. We had a great time chatting to all of them over the 3 days. Some small things in the rooms (we stayed in two rooms) - taps and bathroom fittings could do with tightening, one of the mattresses needed attention and the addition of more USB charging points would be great but the decor is fab, we loved the touch of the Nespresso machine and the breakfast bag on our last morning was a lovely touch so thank you for that! Discounted parking available in Spanish Arch car park next door - €10 for 24 hours. We will definitely stay here when we return!

Check in to the Cliffs of Moher in the west of Ireland. The nearest big city is Galway. Galway has few good hotels to choose from. Jury inn is a good choice. The location is next to the Spanish arch in the city center. Very close. Self-driving cars can be parked in the underground parking garage on the right side of the hotel door. An overnight car of 10 euros is not expensive. Although the hotel is old, the room facilities are good, and the breakfast is also a standard English breakfast, it is recommended!

Perfect, cozy stay in the heart of Galway, near popular and beautiful walking streets. Stayed on the top floor, very clean bathroom, windows and AC unit included. Breakfast room had toast (white and brown bread), charcuterie, cheeses, and cereal, with tea and coffee available as well. Since we were at the top floor the noise from the streets was not bad, and we loved walking straight out into the streets. Wifi spotty at times.

I would never stay there again, but if one of my grandchildren did I would be very happy. The reason I have given a 5 star rating is that for only 25 euros they offer a very clean warm welcoming place in the heart of Galway. I am sorry that I cannot remember the name of the blonde lady who checked me in, she could not have been nicer and helped me with my luggage, but this is the first and last time I stay in a hostel, I had to get up at 5:30am to make my bus to Dublin airport, the showers were really good, but trying to ensure I had packed everything while using my Kindle for a light, and so aware that there were 2 others trying to sleep in the room, I so hope they were not too annoyed! The only downside to it was trying to check out at 6am, I tried phoning the number for security 4 times, I tried looking for kitchen or any staff,I tried looking for some kind of a gap in the security shutters to post the entry card into, in the end I kept it and it is now shredded and in the bin. I did not like to leave it on the counter. I so recommend this place to younger people, it was also very quiet at night.

Stayed here over the October bank holiday weekend when Galway city was crazy and packed with people! This was a perfect place to stay - so close to the town but still away from the noise and madness :D The rooms are spacious and very clean! They go the extra mile here - helpful in every way First we were allowed to leave our begs in the reception room which was very convenient! And the next day we were staying in a different room at the hotel and were allowed to check in early so we wouldn't have to carry our bags! The woman working at reception was so friendly and hospitable - helping us carry our bags to our room and making sure we had everything we needed! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere affordable to stay in Galway!

I drove from Kerry to Galway in a rental car. Luckily there is a carpark just around the corner from the Lane but there is also a bus station a few steps away so next time I will get the bus! I took the intercity bus to Dublin Airport on my way home - couldn't have been simpler. The Lane is very easy walking distance from the pedestrian areas of the central town and in the street where the accommodation is situated there are multiple choices for meals. It was also handy having a little supermarket across the road. I wasn't there long enough to try all the options available but I did eat at Classico next door about four times and found that extra convenient and good value. Staff at the Lane were welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. I have already discussed with them how good it would be if there was a small fridge in the room but if lack of space prohibits then maybe one for guest use in the foyer or elsewhere could be considered. 5 stars for comfort and convenience.

Stayed for two nights August 2020 with friends, staff were so friendly and helpful, room was extremely comfortable, and breakfast was very well provided. Had no problems at all while staying and staff were always offering help and making sure everything was okay. Would definitely recommend St Judes, it’s only a very short walk to train station and city centre and is very reasonably priced. Felt extremely welcomed and well accommodated while staying.

Hotel location is okay, visually it is the best hotel in Galway, but the facilities are average. Encountered Galway Oyster Festival, the hotel is full, so the price is unrealistically high.

Less than 10 minutes by car from Galway city centre, the hotel has its own parking lot. Buffet breakfast seems to be 12 euros per person, typical Irish breakfast. The twin room is a single bed + a double bed.

The deciding factor in choosing this hotel is free parking. Facts have proved to be very wise. What is surprising is that the hotel facilities are very sophisticated and the breakfast is delicious, especially the smoked salmon. About 30 minutes walk to the town, the hotel reception lady is beautiful and enthusiastic, and helped us book a 2017 Michelin restaurant to eat raw oysters. It was great, and it would be difficult to eat without a reservation.

The hotel was in a great location, 1 minute walk from Eyre Square. Hotel doesn't provide parking, you need to park in a public multi-storey nearby which costs €12 per 24hrs, which means you can't take your car out to travel anywhere or it will cost you €12 again. There is a small side-street nearby, Frenchville Street. €2 p/h mon-sunday and works out ALOT cheaper if you find a space! The hotel reception and bar itself was lovely- really nice decor in the Hyde Bar & Restaurant. The staff at front of house were pleasant also. As for the breakfast in the Hyde bar, it states online and also whilst booking “Breakfast includes a wide selection freshly baked breads, cereals, crisp pastries and fruit”. Unfortunately this isn’t the case and we were really disappointed. We discovered this when we asked our server what the “continental breakfast” (which was written on the menu given to us) consisted of. He explained that there was none of the above being served because of COVID. I understand that many things have changed since COVID but please, take this down off the website as it is misleading and leaves very little options for breakfast. There were only 5 options on the breakfast menu… full irish fry, vegetarian fry, hot porridge, eggs and American pancakes. We requested apple juice on the first morning which was lovely. The second morning we also got apple juice which honestly tasted like apple flavoured water. Personally I do not think the breakfast is worth the extra money as of now given the current situation with such a limited menu. The rooms… a step up from basic but that’s about it. As seen online there are Kerrygold Butter biscuits and ballygowan water in the rooms.. neither of these were provided and I don't see how there's any reason why this would be affected by COVID. There was also limescale on the exterior the the kettle. The view was shocking and so disappointing.. online there are rooms with lovely balconies etc and our view was of 4 walls. The shades on all lamps were stained. Bed linen was nice and crisp but pillows more like bullets. We had an issue on the first night with our bed which led to an uncomfotable sleep but this was resolved the next day. The towels were nice and fluffy and white. As for the bathroom the shower/bath could most definitely do with an upgrade. The wood panel on the bath chipped and the paint peeling off, the same with the wood panel on the toilet. The toiletries are not the same as advertised on the website. There was no Paul Costelloe Linen toiletries or soap, instead it was a large some sort of organic bottle on the wall which was your shower gel and shampoo. Overall, it's clean and fine if you are just looking for something basic to sleep in. All staff are pleasant. I would not rule out this hotel but it is most defenitely over-priced for what we got. I also agree with what others have said on here regarding price. It is not €6 cheaper as the prices on booking.com were still cheaper.

Very nice B&B. Very close to Kilronin. Also right next door to Jo Watty's Bar, nice food and drink. I stayed with my daughter (8) who loved Porter(the dog). Bartley was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. I had asked for a twin room and we were given a family room which gave us loads of room. Facilities were great as was the breakfast the next morning. Definitely recommended.

My husband and I traveled with our son and daughter-in-law. We arrived at Avoca House after a full and tiring day of travel and hiking the Cliffs of Moher. It was a beautiful sunny day and Kathleen offered her back yard so we could relax in the sun, which was very much needed and appreciated. We walked around the corner for beer, wine and snacks. Kathleen provided ice and glasses, and we relaxed in the yard for a couple of hours. The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast delicious. Kathleen was helpful with tips for inexpensive and convenient parking in Galway city center. In hindsight, we wish we could have stayed to enjoy Galway and the area for another day. If we get the chance to return to Galway, we will stay here again without hesitation. Thank you again Kathleen!

Marie was a real character and very welcoming. She has set up a delightful BnB that is decorated very nicely. The room and beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very nice, with good variety. The location only works with a car. Even then, I found it frustrating and at times it took quite a long time to get into Galway, as there was considerable traffic in June. There is good parking for 5 euro in the church (if you go around the left of the town, over the bridge and go first left). You can go in and out for that price. We really enjoyed the day trip to Connemara. It was much, much better than the Cliffs of Moah. We drove past Ross Errily Friary to Cong Vilkage and walked through the old Abby to Monk’s fishing cottage in crystal clear water. We found you could go across and along the river to the luxury hotel-Ashford Castle. It was obscenely nice. We then drove past stunning Loughs to Leenane, an inlet on coast. Had lunch and drove past Killlary Harbour. Kylemore Abby was spectacular from across the water. The Victorian garden and inside were only ok (I would consider getting a photo and avoiding the entry charge). We then drove to Sky road to see the lovely coast. Then saw Clifden before driving 1.5 hrs back to Galway.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hostel while excavating in Galway during the months of January and February this year. The building is decorated in an appealing industrial style and was maintained spotlessly clean. The bedrooms are large, comfortable and for me personally had the pleasent option of shutting down the heating. The common area contains a wood stove, a welcome sight after a cold day outside. A generous breakfast is provided that is the perfect preparation for such days. However, for me the nicest thing about the Nest hostel must be the staff. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and involved, they make it seem more like a stay at a friend's. I travel a fair bit for work and this is one of the best places where I have stayed. I highly recommend it.
